LisaSimpsonsbff · 05/12/2016 17:02

Yet again we've managed to exchange nearly 1000 posts swapping our tales of peeing on sticks, dancing for babies, trying to stop Auntie Flo's all too frequent visits, and sometimes, just sometimes, of Big Fat Positives! So let's begin thread five with some updated stats. Me first...

Age 29
Cycle #4
Cycle day 1

Enjoy the ski lesson PJs. Maybe your DH thinks you're going to kick him in the goolies again Basset. Only joking, maybe he's feeling the pressure of TTC but hopefully a chat will sort things. At start of FW here so will have to go entice DH into the bedroom... I saw Yellow's post and remembered that we need to get some action in at the weekend. How romantic!

bassetmum · 28/01/2017 16:34

I think the chat might have worked. Hoping tonight we can. Still got loads of ewcm today but another negative opk attached a pic. Cd 12. Apologies for the bad pic though couldn't take a non blurry one today.

Ive always wanted to try skiing pjs but I have a bad knee so never thought I'd be able to so it.

Yay managed to dtd. Although I did get caught with my legs up. So i used an excuse that I didn't want to lean on the duvet lol.

Pyjamas81 · 28/01/2017 23:13

Yaaaaay - good one basset!

Skiing lesson was so much fun!! Definitely a hobby me and DH can enjoy together in future 😊

Pyjamas81 · 28/01/2017 23:59

Oh and basset - not sure how a bad knee would fare with skiing - it could be a struggle as your legs are always 'on'. I think mine will hurt tomorrow - was using muscles I never even knew I had!

Pyjamas81 · 29/01/2017 08:14

Well FF has guessed at an ov day (Friday's temp was sky high due to the boozy Thurs) - a day later than I thought, but oh well! Have attached my chart and DTD timing scorecard - I think we did well even if I did ov the day before instead!

No more temping for me this cycle and now officially in TWW!

Woo Bassett! I'm always getting caught with my legs up, OH laughs at me!

I'm going to use an opk again today & (hopefully!) dtd, then I'll be on a 2ww.
Think my test day would be 12th Feb.
Does having a long cycle make a difference to when you test?

DancingUnicorn · 29/01/2017 11:26

Fingers crossed for you pjs. Basset I got caught with my legs up recently, but was genuinely to protect the duvet! Oh didn't believe me, but it was a good few days after ov!

Just managed to flood my first hpt. That'll teach me for not waiting!! (Cd 24 of 26)

Eva30 · 29/01/2017 12:09

Ooo quite a few of us at the same point in cycles - fx pjs basset yellow and jene
I'm on cd15 and still no +OPK - like last month, and now I'm wondering if I'm just not ovulating at all. I've had no ewcm or ov pain. I was so regular up until November when I started taking Pregnacare. Considering stopping it.
Dr told me not to go back until March when they'll start tests (she's sick of hearing me saying I think there's something wrong)

DancingUnicorn · 29/01/2017 12:28

Eva must be frustrating to be told that! Fx it's just the sticks not picking things up rather than an actual issue. 💐

bassetmum · 29/01/2017 12:38

Wow i didn't realise there were so many of us around the same time. Well it looks like i might be surging today so fx I can get on to dtd again tonight. This opk is from just now.

Although if i follow usual months I am ovulating two days later than normal but i guess we will see.

yellowfrontdoor · 29/01/2017 12:53

Eva I almost ordered pregnacare on amazon but the negative reviews regarding cycle disruption totally put me off. Mine's bad enough as it is!
I'm taking bog-standard folic acid instead.

I just got another +opk. Will be dtd as soon as the in-laws leave seems rude to do it while they're here GrinWink

Pyjamas81 · 29/01/2017 17:20

That's so strange Eva - is there a chance you're missing the surges?

I've been taking pregnacare the whole time and nothing unusual apart from radioactive coloured wee!

That's a good positive basset - time to get busy!

Ha ha yellow - the in laws may raise an eyebrow. My mum is so desperate for a grandchild, she threatened to lock DH in our room when we were visiting for Xmas as we 'had work to do' 😂😂😂

Lovely day with DH's family today (with only one glass of bubbly as it was his sister's birthday). Going to try and not drink a lot this TWW - will be sampling non-alcoholic beers to avoid raising unnecessary suspicion at work!

bassetmum · 29/01/2017 17:53

Your comment about your mum pjs reminded me of the look on my mums face when I said I need to show you something the other day. I dont think the picture I showed her was what she wanted to see haha.

You could just be missing the surge eva.

Ive just done another opk and the test line was so much stronger than the control. Thats never happened. Just hope my oh will agree to some dtd tonight as I am starting to come down with a sore throat and my right tonsil is massive.

Yellow fx for your dtd. Hopefully your in laws won't be there too late.

Blissfulignorance · 29/01/2017 18:03

Hello all, cd20 over here. Not one symptom. I really don't think it's my month again, I was poorly in the fw we did dtd every other day if not more.

My January has been pretty wet, I have had the ump with TTC over the xmas period that I've just had the eff it approach and enjoyed a glass of wine with dinner or a g&t at the weekends.

I was taking pregnacare but lost the last blister so now take folic acid 90p for 90 tablets. Still forget to take them but don't feel so bad about wasting money on them haha.

Good luck Bassett hope you can bd later.
Pj my mother is similar asking questions and commenting on my decaf tea.

Eva do you test straight after af has gone? March isn't too far away, perhaps you could ask for the blood tests early?

Dollydaydream2829 · 29/01/2017 18:20

Which OPK are you using Eva? Hopefully you're just missing the windows - are you getting faint lines or just nothing at all?
Fortunately my mum hasn't mentioned anything about babies/grandkids to me, but it's no doubt only a matter of time! It's meant out of love I'm sure but it certainly doesn't help with the pressures already felt!
CD 23 and 9dpo. I'd normally expect af to arrive like clockwork on Friday but my last cycle was 31 days as opposed to the 28day cycle I've almost religiously had so now I don't know when to expect it? I downloaded that ovia app for next cycle (if required, hopefully not!) And it's saying to do a test in 4 days time?! I'm confused....

kiwi17 · 29/01/2017 18:46

CD28 and either 13/14dpo and no af yet!! Getting too hopeful though I think :( I think these last few days before af go the most slowly!

yellowfrontdoor · 29/01/2017 19:12

As soon as in-laws left I pounced! Grin

Just completed an online calculator showing when's best to test... my 40+ cycle lengths mean I need to wait until at least the 18th Feb. Seems forever away Sad. Don't want to spend 3 weeks getting my hopes up.

Fx for all the 2w-waiters.

KittyKat73 · 29/01/2017 19:23

Hey all

allthecheese Yey for AF coming for you I could feel your frustration during it all, at least you know you have started a new cycle now and can get starting TTC :)

fingers crossed for you pjs hope all goes well!

I can relate basset about DH issues. When i first came off the pill my sex drive went through the roof and DH really struggled to keep up! I felt like i was being a total sex pest Blush calmed down now but i think men secretly feel alot of pressure too and instead of talking about it will just avoid DTD for a bit.

Im currently at CD 59 ! unbelievable never had a cycle this long but third BFN on tuesday. so just need to wait it out. got a baby shower soon this month and close family friend was over today showing her bump and talking about her pregnancy symptoms etc so thats made me all impatient again haha come on AF were are you!

Eva30 · 29/01/2017 21:03

yellow yeah the reviews are so mixed on Pregnacare
basset great OPK there
pjs really impressive dtd'ing this month!
blissful af finished on cd7 and I started opks cd10. My gp is most unhelpful and unwilling to bend the rules of testing beforehand 1 year trying, much to my annoyance. Good luck for this month, I know loads of people who had no two symptoms whatsoever.
dolly I just use the cheapie opks. Some have darkish lines, some have faint lines - it's totally random! Are you a tester or a waiting for AF to show type? I'm a tester, I prefer not to get my hopes up

I'm really 50/50 on whether to carry on with the damn Pregnacare.
Had an emotional day visiting SIL who is due to give birth any day now in hospital. Walking on to the maternity ward was like torture - so many bumps and excited people waiting to meet their new family members

Dollydaydream2829 · 29/01/2017 21:09

This is the first month I've used the OPKs and there was only one day where I had a really dark second line. But now I'm even beginning to doubt that it was even as dark as the control line? Could really drive yourself crazy with all this stuff haha!
I tested last month but that was because I was two days late and felt FOR SURE I was going to get a BFP. Before that, I was just going with the flow because I wasnt 100% sure I was ready however after genuinely thinking I was pregnant last month and then getting the BFN, it's just proven to me how much I actually want this and this month has been so different already! Maybe invest in the CB ones next month if you have the extra cash, I've heard they're a lot easier to read and leave little doubt as to when you O?

bassetmum · 30/01/2017 18:12

Well ladies another positive opk. Last nights dtd failed miserably again. 😞 starting to feel slightly disheartened by it by the oh says he does want a baby just loses it when things go wrong (last night was a giggling fit from a noise). Hopefully tonight we can finish the deed. Although Monday nights are definitely not the best.

Dolly from what i hear cb opks are easier to read.

How was everyones Monday?

First time TTC - thread five!
kiwi17 · 30/01/2017 18:17

Today was horribly stressful at work and as I was leaving I went to the loo and got a small bit of brownish blood in the tissue (sorry tmi!) and now im absolutely gutted :'( genuinely thought we'd done it right this time with dtd every other day until ovulation :( so so upset :( stupid ttc.

Pyjamas81 · 30/01/2017 18:43

That's a good strong positive opk basset - really hope it works out for you tonight. I hear you on Monday dtd sessions - me and DH are NOT fans. At ALL. You're still in with a good chance if you dtd tonight!

Ah kiwi - so sorry 😞 When is AF due? It is properly gutting when that happens.

4dpo here and enjoying relaxed part of TWW - FW finally over and no more opks or temping for a while 👍🏼 Still have this stupid rash on my face though which is most annoying 😤

kiwi17 · 30/01/2017 19:17

I don't know really pjs because last month it was about 34 day cycle and the month before 25 :( its currently cd29 and 14/15dpo :(
