Welcome to our third thread on PCOS. What we don't know isn't really worth knowing. We're a friendly bunch of women who have a few things in common. We all have either PCOS or unexplained infertility and we're all on a mission for a BFP!!!!

For new members, and old alike here are the links to our 1st and 2nd threads:

Now without further ado, let's continue on our journey.......

Glad to hear you're better, summer. Whenever I have a bad day, I just do things that make me happy, no matter what those might be. Can't wait to get home this evening, my DP is cooking some lovely pasta and we'll have a quiet night in watching movies and drinking Wine. Hope you have something nice planned. I got a big fat no from the company I interviewed with, but I'm not too upset - it just means I can fully focus on TTC instead of putting it on hold.

satsoooma, fingers crossed you ovulate soon, sounds like you'll be busy this weekend Wink

Amy - it certainly sounds promising! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you!

YouBoggleMyMind · 17/03/2017 17:38

That last opk looks positive to me satsooma! Go go go!

YouBoggleMyMind · 17/03/2017 17:39

Only 4 days to go Amy, everything crossed for you!

AmyC86 · 17/03/2017 18:12

I'm 10 dpo today, so I'm planning on testing on Tuesday.

It's worked out quite well acctually because I'm away with family (DH, My Parents, Sisters and their husbands and one of my sisters children) and we only leave here Monday morning, so my first opportunity to test with a FRER (which I've also left at home) is Tuesday morning!!!

So, although I'm constantly thinking about it, it's very internal because no one else apart from DH, knows where we are in the process.

That sounds like a great setup Amy. I am thinking of going away for a few days during our TWW. I really need to figure out how to be more relaxed about things at the moment, I am so preoccupied with this, it is unhealthy. Sounds like you have done really well, taking a break from MN and heading off on holiday with your family.

SummerHopin · 17/03/2017 18:25

Good for you Amy I hope it's good news come test day.

Satsooma I'm so the same. This whole process is taking over my life but I can't think of anything else no matter how hard I try. I find social situations so nerve wracking now as I'm terrified someone is going to either ask when we are having a baby or announce that they are! If I could I would literally hibernate through all this!

satsoooma · 17/03/2017 18:42

Hibernating is exactly what I want to do summer. I don't want to feel all these feelings any more. Please just wake me up in time for the BFP Grin

Wingingit88 · 17/03/2017 18:52

Hello! Just wanted to add a rant.. ttc#3 cd 28. I have no idea if I've even ovulated.
My last cycle was 28 days, one before that 5 weeks once before that 7 weeks. I don't want to waste money and poas for it to be negative. It's too depressing. Have a TVS booked for next week as having mid cycle spotting..I'm hoping it will at least tel me where in my cycle I could be! Feeling a bit disheartened this evening :(

FluffyEwok · 18/03/2017 12:09

Good luck Amy x
My period has stopped will await its reappearance. Everyone else ok?

SLady · 18/03/2017 21:16

I think AF is on her way. Thank F for that. Feel like having a period party! Just in time to get my CD2-5 bloods done before seeing the consultant too! Does anyone else secretly hope/pray the onset of AF is implantation bleeding? Silly but I hope every single time even though always ends up in AF :(

AmyC86 · 19/03/2017 00:58

Ive had some pinky/browny blood mixed with discharge over the last 24 hours, not every time I go to the loo, just now and again. Definitely think that I'm out this month

Hi had PCOS for 15 years plus. Tried to conceive for 15 years naturally Referred to fertility a few times and put on metformin and nothing. Gave up but wanted something to help with the irregular bleeding and hormones as very high androgen. Told too heavy etc. Then seen new gynaecologist who gave me Norethisterone for six months which sorted out my cycle. Six months after that took it in the May to prevent heavy bleeding during holiday and fell pregnant in the July although didn't find out to end of October as didn't even cross my mind I could be pregnant just thought I had a uti. Never give up! I truely think this hormone was the reason I got pregnant. Good luck everyone x

SLady · 19/03/2017 08:50

Thanks so much for sharing lorri it's so nice to hear a positive story. My doctor prescribed me Norethisterone too but I wasn't really sure about it, didn't seem like a popular thing to prescribe. So happy things worked out for you x

ElizabethCatherine · 19/03/2017 08:51

@summerhopin I had a question for you again about private. The wait list is really getting to me it's not until may 31st and mentally I can't wait that long just for a consult so I'm going to have the first appointment private. Do you know how much the consult with the gynaecologist is? And what I can expect? Will I then be able to jump the wait list if I need treatment under the NHS? Thanks xx

SLady · 19/03/2017 08:52

Amy don't give up just yet. See how you get on today. Still a couple of days until test day you might still be in. FX.

SLady · 19/03/2017 08:57

Hey Elizabeth you sound like me. My wait list is mid-June. I've booked to see the consultant and it's £200. I don't think you can jump the queue or start treatment unless you want to carry it through till the end but it will definitely speed things up when you get your referral as you've already seen the consultant. I think summer has her nhs appt at the end of the month but she's done the preliminary tests privately

satsoooma · 19/03/2017 09:08

Hi Amy. Depending on what sort of bleeding/cramps you are getting, there is a chance that it could still be implantation bleeding. I have read that the most common day for implantation is 9 dpo, but it can range from 6 to 12 dpo. Which is a lot later than I thought it was.

Got my fingers crossed for you. x

ElizabethCatherine · 19/03/2017 10:03

Thanks @SLady I'm just going to have to suck it up and pay for the consult. My mental health and the depression I'm in right now because of this just needs to go away and bringing my appointment sooner will help me calm down a bit I think. So crazy what us ladies have to go through..

AmyC86 · 19/03/2017 10:19

Thanks ladies xx just a little bit of coloured discharge & no cramps xx 12 dpo today!

SLady · 19/03/2017 10:38

Do it Elizabeth I feel SO much better having booked an appointment sooner

Barsons83 · 19/03/2017 11:14

Hey Ladies,
Interesting to hear about the private apts you're having before your nhs consultations. I was just wondering if there are any private treatments you can receive without it affecting eligibility for nhs ivf?

SLady · 19/03/2017 13:13

Hi barsons I'm not sure what it's like in your area but there are no treatments which affect ivf eligibility where I am. Only things such as having children already (yourself or your partner) and having tried naturally for a certain period of time before. My nhs trust's ivf criteria is online so it's easy to see. See if you can find yours x

FluffyEwok · 19/03/2017 22:08

My ccg says if you have a private ivf one cycle is knocked off your nhs allowance.
Still no period. Starting ivf tomorrow
