Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (AF) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier.

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We like it when the grads stick around too. No question is too daft. We have opk experts, temp experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

TTC #1
Age: I only admit to 21 42
Am footloose and fancy free so am using donor magic potion.
Have been TTC for over 1 year (5 failed IUIs), got BFP with IVF but sadly MC at 8 weeks; did another IVF which was a BFN. Had a Hycosy last cycle (to make sure tubes are a-ok). Waiting for AF to do IUI again.
Really recommend that you take a squize at "It starts with the egg" (no I do not get royalties) - I am on most of the supplements mentioned therein.
Also I recommend for POAS that you use FRER (again no royalties) Grin
Happy to share my 2WW and pre-ovulation tips!

Great news jem!!! Yep pelvic scan is up your fanjo!

fxskip you are NOT barren!!! Angry sounds like you have a hell of a lot on right now though Flowers

Alexia I am very sorru about your Grandfather passing. 91 is a real good innings- not much of a consolation I know Flowers

I am right there with you Nicky!!! EDD is not important - getting and sustaining a pregnancy is!

mouse I take 50mg daily if thyroxine for thyroid- my clinic puts a lot of importance on the thyroid function and I retest every 6 weeks to make sure I am taking the right dose.

Ok so I'm on my way home from work. Think we might have some food and then nip out for a test. I kinda don't want to take it now. I know it won't be what I want to see. But at least I'll have my bloods back next week so if there's something else going on I'll be able to re-focus on that.

sk1pper I am glad your pain has gone. Must have been so frightening. I have VERY heavy periods and always have to have baseline scans day 1-3... yuck! But scanners are used to it.

Well done moose lovely piccie Star

mouse I am giving you a starky Star for holding out so long but will you test already (on a FRER!!!)

Just seen GP - thinks all my supplements are causing itchiness... wants to check I am not diabetic... great, just great...

Bluebird we've got to have our tests then get our referral. I've got to wait for day 22 to get my bloods done. Not sure when the scan will be. DH is trying to work out when to do his second SA - its tricky to time it as he has to abstain for 3 days before and I'm ovulating in 6-7 days. He might wait until after fertile week then do it. I've made a doctors appointment on the 17 November and I think she refers us then - once we've got all the info together. Phew!

EJ- Yup, I have also just recovered from thrush which started at 5dpo. It seems to be a pattern with me. Last time I got thrush during the luteal phase and ended up with a bfp. I am assuming that it is either related to hormones changing from oestrogen to progesterone. To be honest I really don't know. Since I came off the pill in June I have had a few bouts of it.

Kwick - okay thanks, I hope the scanner puts me at ease. Kind of hoping it's the woman who did my smear, she was amazing and the whole thing was so awkward as my cervix didn't want to play ball. The doctor has a really good point about your supplements, I worked out that my bad breakout of acne last cycle was because I was taking too much. I've stripped it all back and reintroduced the most important stuff one at a time, seems to have done the job.

Well if you got a bfp i will take the thrush if thats where it gets me!! No other symptoms though so not hopeful that its my month.

Been having a teary week as those around me get more pregnant by the day. Also it dawned on me that there is a strong chance I will not be pregnant by Christmas or my birthday, and all those months ago I pictured myself with blooming bump as we saw in new year :-( That coupled with the fact there will be a baby just days old with us on Christmas day is just going to rub it in.

Seeing my mum this weekend and considering telling her we're ttc as I know she had problems. I think she had an offset womb? ? Not sure if that sort of thing is genetic?

Well that was hard. BFN ladies. Sad

On one hand I think I already knew, on the other I feel so devastated. Everything was against me. My sister turned up and stayed for tea then didn't leave for another hour.

So we went to Asda to get a test. The first response ones were sold out. I got a pack of Asda tests. Then I needed a nervous poop on the way home. Went to the loo and couldn't pee!!!

I think I'll pee on the other one tomorrow just in case but I'm pretty sure I'm now on the wonderful and uncertain wait for AF, whenever she decides to turn up. We should take a bet on which day she shows. Today is CD36 Confused

Thank you to everyone who's listened to my rambling commentary this past month. X

Oh Mouse sorry to hear that. You should not feel terrible for rambling on, we are all here to ramble on; we are here because we are all on a journey that we don't really talk about with family and sometimes friends. Most of us haven't really told people about TTC. Are you going opk for your next cycle? I found that both temp and opk compliment each other.

Notyetthere · 21/10/2016 23:19

Mouse - Sorry I misunderstood. Definitely try and use the second test using 1st morning wee if not a Frer. Fx it is more concentrated than this evening. And if you are not sure post a picture and we shall squint at it. Some ladies on here are good at spotting the faint lines.

Sorry, got to catch up properly on thread but I just wanted to jump on and say - sorry for your bfn mouse but i just wanted to make you aware that for my first cycle off bc I didn't get AF for 61 days so I can't have ovulated until cd45-50. I wasn't temping or using OPKs at the time so I don't have those to go on but I think it's quite possible that you haven't actually O'd yet this cycle. I know you had fertile CM but again, that could have been because of your hormones being thrown out of whack. So might be worth checking CM and BDing just in case! You might see a temp rise in the next week or so.

Sorry mouse FlowersFlowers it's awful seeing that BFN for the first time, I was sad to get one even when I was on the pill and had convinced myself I was pg!

I'll be in the same boat in 2 weeks I imagine, I haven't ov'd yet and it's CD15 today so looks like I'm in for a long first cycle too.

I haven't caught up properly either but I just wanted to butt in and say I completely echo what Music said Mouse. Please please please save yourself the heartache girl and the money and don't test again! It's clear you haven't ovulated yet because of your chart (temps are low and no crosshairs). I know it's very frustrating waiting for AF but it's probably best if you relax and not take this cycle too seriously for your own mental wellbeing. Music is right - check your CM, keep temping, maybe do some OPKs? and just DTD as and when you can. You're still waiting to ovulate so you can still catch the egg. This is a learning curve and you're doing great so far.

Congrats on the lovely scan Moose Smile

Try not be too disheartened mouse - you'd be really lucky to fall on your first cycle. It's very easy to get your hopes up and read into every twinge when you first start trying - I did that for at least 3-4 cycles so I do sympathise.

sk1pper · 22/10/2016 10:50

Sorry just a quick note to say, if anyone suffers from bad acne in their luteal phase and is left with red marks that take a total age to disappear - palmers skin therapy oil is amazing. It's reduced my marks from last cycle overnight. It's expensive but if you only get one or two spots it's going to last you a while.

Thanks for sharing your scan Moose, I'm glad everything is ok.

Mouse I'm sorry Flowers

Winging I know what you mean, I'd imagined being heavily pregnant this Christmas & it's so rubbish to think it's fairly close now & all I've got is a food baby.

The doctor told me to go back to start tests in November if not had a BFP. I'd previously decided I'd wait out this cycle & go mid-late November but I think I may as well get the ball rolling & book an appointment for early November. I'm defo going to lie & say we DTD every day in FW as don't want to risk being sent away for another 6 months or something. Btw those Maca tablets I've been giving to DH to try & make him more horny haven't worked. I'm trying holding him back this month until close to when I get EWCM so he's got the energy to hit it hard at the right time. Previous months when we've started earlier he's run out of steam just at the crucial point.

Sorry for the bfn mouse. The first ones are awful but hopefully you won't have too many.

jem make sure to ask if they are testing your blood for measles/mumps/rubella immunity and have a urine test to rule out clamydia. We thought everything was ready for our referral then got a call saying i needed another blood/urine test for those things and then had to wait another 3 weeks for an appointment. We waited 4 weeks after the referral for a letter then we have another 4 week wait for an appointment. So frustrating to have to wait around when I want the ball rolling!

kwick what are you going to do? Cut out your supplements?
