Thread 20 TTC #1 - We. Want. Babies.

Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (AF) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier.

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We like it when the grads stick around too. No question is too daft. We have opk experts, temp experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

Wow it's suitably vague isn't it Hep? Like everything regarding cycles and pregnancy.

Hang in there, just try to keep your mind off it. It's not the same thing I know, but since AF arrived I've been finding lots of healthy recipes to cook during my fertile week. So maybe you can do something like that (alongside your insane fitness regime of course!) Then when AF pops up, you'll go into your first new cycle with all this awesome stuff you've prepared.

Ugh this sounded better in my head.

HepKestrel · 27/10/2016 17:10

skipper don't worry, OH is the cook in the house not me Smile
he went into full healthy cooking mode when i was briefly pg. I have no doubt he will do it again when ttc properly again.

Musicgrrl · 27/10/2016 17:20

Ugh, not the best afternoon for me. Bunked out of work early to dtd before DH went out this evening - had vaguely +ve OPK yesterday and no temp rise yet so think I'm probably ovulating right about now. DH couldn't finish. I make out like it's totally fine then start crying just before he had to leave the house. Clearly not going to help matters! Have consoled myself with some dark chocolate and tea.

Musicgrrl · 27/10/2016 17:26

Not helped by fact that we aren't around together tomorrow to dtd and even if we were I feel like he wouldn't be able to finish then either because of the pressure. Anyone had similar problems?

MrsG280516 · 27/10/2016 17:28

We almost had that problem on Monday Music we had DTD two days in a row already and OH was about to go off to work so I think he just put a bit too much pressure on himself! I had to savage the situation with a quick BJ (tmi sorry!!) then hop back on... got there in the end.

MouseLove · 27/10/2016 17:35

Remind me ladies. Is the date for AF due or when you're going to test? I feel like I'm in limbo since I know neither.

Another idea for the list is a google sheet shared to everyone. I can make us one if you like?? That way people can update themselves. Lol. It's what we do on another thread.

Musicgrrl · 27/10/2016 17:35

Ah Mrs - maybe that would work. We have dtd before today so it's not impossible this cycle but I'm worried that by crying I've made a big thing out of it and totally amplified the problem.

HepKestrel · 27/10/2016 17:44

mouse its AF due date

Nicky883 · 27/10/2016 17:58

Hep still no af ? The bitch only shows when you dont want her to !
Just came back from the gp she booked my blood test to get the ball rolling and informed me am entitled to one ivf cycle if is unexplained. She also told me that many cpuples fall pregnant when the start fertility checks as the "relax". She also doesnt approve of opks but i cant fault jer she was very nice about it all !
I thought i would feel better when i started tests but i feel incredibly sad about it .not excactly how i thought it would be !

Binkybunny13 · 27/10/2016 18:03

OMG congratulations Kits! Great news! Smile

Alexia what have you decided on re: trying clomid? Thanks for the summary list- there's loads of us in limboland!

Hep hang on in there, but def have a party (any excuse..)

Chocolate and tea sounds needed music- I have had similar meltdowns but as we all know it's not helpful. Head up and LSFX

No news from knickerwatch my end- still no AF and now 8days late. Even tried wearing light knickers as a way of tempting the witch but no show! Did a HPT 2 days ago and still BFN as expected. Have been feeling pretty weird though so not sure what's going on. Might have a chat with DH this evening about it- haven't said anything yet as Its so unlikely I'm pregnant, but he's medical so going to pick his brains about what to do. My app has now given up predicting my FW etc so I'm going it alone and I'm confused!!

AlexiaB · 27/10/2016 18:07

Mouse yes maybe that would work?

Aww Music I'm sorry. I hate that feeling when you don't get what you want/need. It's hard to take emotionally so don't worry about crying. I'm sure if your DH is as lovely as you he will completely understand how you feel. These things happen, and you still have swimmers in the right place. If it makes you feel any better I kicked my DH out of the bedroom once and completely lost it. I got really nasty and said awful things like I don't think I can be with someone like you who keeps letting me down, are you even a man? etc. My DH understood the next day I was just hormonal and desperate. TTC is stressful and it tests your relationship. xx

Nicky glad you've got the ball rolling. Why didn't she approve of OPKs?

Binky I'm going to monitor my bleeding and temps over the next day or so and then decide. It's so hard not 100% knowing if this is AF or not. I don't want to not take it and risk another long pointless cycle. How frustrating that you're still in limbo. It could be a long anovulatory cycle or just not showing up on the test yet. It's unbearable waiting isn't it.

sk1pper · 27/10/2016 18:19

nicky - why doesn't the GP approve of OPKs?

Nicky883 · 27/10/2016 18:40

She thinks it puts on too much pressure to do it now ! And she firmly believes that stress does affect conception !

Nicky883 · 27/10/2016 18:53

Well tbh i stopped using opk for a couple of months i was still stressed ;p

sk1pper · 27/10/2016 19:10

Hmm it's confusing as I've read a few sources online that say it doesn't impact conception. I don't feel particularly stressed during OPKs or temping or anything like that. It's just a guide - not sure how it's stressful.

EJ2009 · 27/10/2016 19:23

Hepkestrel im out. Af came a day early.

Re my chart - thank you for advice. Im actually living in the dark ages. Ive been recording it on the paper charts that came with the thermometer. I dont have an app as i dont think i can put it on my phone Blush i am a 30 year old geriatric.... Technology is not my thing... as it goes i was thinking of setting an app up for this cycle. Can i do it on a normal computer?

LondonJem · 27/10/2016 19:23

Kitsandkids wow a BFP after 9 years is amazing, many congratulations and all the best for a healthy pregnancy

Hello kava there are a few cycle 11 ers I'm hoping it's going to be lucky one Smile

I'd be inclined to try clomid at that point alexia do you think you will?

Sorry about AF skipper hopefully it will subside some before the scan. I'm sure the scanner won't even blink they must be so used to it

LondonJem · 27/10/2016 19:26

Music this has happened to us once - very frustrating but we've been at it for 11 months so really he's a bloody trooper. I know someone on here employed porn on their mobile to good effect. BJ another good shout although saliva is not good for sperm so bit of a tricky one

LondonJem · 27/10/2016 19:28

Nicky I felt very similar about seeing GP. Just this feeling of resignation and deep disappointment and sadness that it's come to this. Hopefully what they say about getting referred and then conceiving will be true for us. I definitely feel a bit more resigned to it all now so maybe I am more relaxed? I don't know.

sk1pper · 27/10/2016 19:46

EJ - nothing wrong with a bit of paper and a pen. Not sure the apps can be used on normal computers to be honest.

jem - that's what I'm hoping, apparently it's easier for them to see potential problems on your period, so I'm gonna suck it up and deal with it. How are you doing?

EJ2009 · 27/10/2016 19:51

Haha thanks skipper & good luck for your scan
