Hi FairyAnn you are fine to post on whichever thread you like, there is a thread for TTC post pill, different "buses" depending on the month your period is due etc.

Not sure if there is a link to all the abbreviations, but here are a few:

TTC = trying to conceive
AF = Aunt Flow (period)
CD = cycle day (the first day of your period is CD1)
BFP/BFN = big fat positive (pregnancy test)/big fat negative
DTD = do the deed (sex)
BD = baby dance (sex)
CM = cervical mucus
EWCM = egg white cervical mucus (the most fertile mucus for conception)
ov = ovulation
FW = fertile window
OPK = ovulation prediction kit
DPO = days post ovulation
CB = clear blue (pregnancy test)
FRER = first response early result (pregnancy test)
HPT = home pregnancy test
IC = internet cheapies (pregnancy tests or ovulation kits)

I'm sure there are plenty more...

FairyAnn · 14/11/2016 11:21

Thank you MrsG280516, I had no idea where to start!

So, I think I've got this:

I'm 34, partner is 30
CD1 as AF started today
Cycle 1 (I think, I'm assuming this is the times you've tried?)

Oggy88 · 14/11/2016 11:34

Oh yay, a cycle buddy! Cd1 here as well Smile

TheCatsMother99 · 14/11/2016 11:34

Good point, Kirsty. I've had salmonella poisoning before but that was from a restaurant giving me uncooked chicken, so theoretically it should be that pregnant women can't eat chicken just incase... except that's not the advice and it'd never happen.

There's so much advice out there or people saying one thing and others saying another that it's quite confusing at times.

I'm hoping someone here can tell me that eating brie is actually good for you when pregnant, then I really will be happy Grin

I'm also going to do a little chant for you to the pregnancy-gods because every little helps, doesn't it?!

ROME CONCEPTION FOR KIRSTY ROME CONCEPTION FOR KIRSTY ROME CONCEPTION FOR KIRSTY

FairyAnn · 14/11/2016 11:37

Nice to meet you Oggy88

It's all quite overwhelming at the moment. We only just decided to start trying this weekend so now I'm reading up on everything! Grin

Oggy88 · 14/11/2016 12:12

You guys think Kirsty will be thinking of us chanting as they dtd** in Rome? Grin

HellsBellsK · 14/11/2016 12:13

Morning Ladies,

Just catching up - it has been so busy in work.

Going to eat healthy I think but not going to give up anything - I love pate so had some over the weekend incase Im pregnant by Christmas and I won't be able to touch it Smile.

Its CD 14 for me - but I have a feeling I'm already out. No EWCM at all - had some when I was still bleeding (sorry TMI).
So think I ovulated really early or may be its going to be late I don't know.
Have a feeling this cycle is all over the place as AF was 11 days - Doctor reckons it was a chemical pregnancy.

Welcome Fairy Im only on cycle 2 so it is still all new to me.

Hoep everyone had a great weekend!

Piehunter · 14/11/2016 12:14

cats It's mouse going to Rome, kirsty is in Norway Grin

Thank you all lovely ladies, I have had horrendous pmt the last week and yesterday was horrible, I felt miserable before AF arrived and then that was just the icing on the cake! Onwards... Had wine last night, huge amounts of cheesy garlic bread and birthday chocolate (sooo much in house!) which made it all better.

basset yes I usually spot 9dpo, full AF 10dpo. Very jealous of your thrush free life, ha!

oggy and fairy welcome!

kirsty sorry you're suffering too! We generally dtd every other day from day 12/13 on to 20/22, I ovulate late in cycle. We try to dtd at least twice after positive opk. Rest of the month is totally relaxed.

seahawk thinking of you and FX for scan.

Piehunter · 14/11/2016 12:15

Oh and mouse... ROME CONCEPTION! may you be more successful in your holiday conception than I was Grin

Oggy88 · 14/11/2016 12:22

Kirsty, you have to go to Rome now... Grin

TheCatsMother99 · 14/11/2016 12:39

Oops! I blame the Monday morning madness that's making me lose the plot, haha.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 14/11/2016 13:00

It's been so busy in here this morning! Sorry to our thrush sufferers, I know the pain all too well... You know how some (irritating!) women say that 'he just looks at me and I get pregnant!'? I feel like if my DH just looks at me I get cystitis and/or thrush! This is why I am really, really hoping that lying still after sex doesn't make a big difference to conception...

Hello FairyAnn!

Today is my second day of using CB OPK, and have discovered I actually rather like the routine of POAS each morning! I have a terrible habit of getting up at my alarm, going for a wee but then going back to sleep... No more, since I spend enough time messing around with it all to properly wake up! I have entered a newly productive age!

Blissfulignorance · 14/11/2016 14:14

Hello all, welcomed me newbies! It's been busy on here!

So I've switched to decaf tea at home because I drink litres of it day. But they don't have decaf at work and I'll never remember to bring it in. I also love pate and will be gutted to not eat it for 9 months.

The egg situation- I have chickens and get my eggs from them. Surely that's just as safe as a lion stamped one? I'll draw my own lion on them Grin.

Good luck in Rome! Mouse

I have only had thrush once and that was enough. However, I don't lie around after dtd, I usually go straight for a wee.... should I lie there for a bit?? Does it make a difference??

I'm cd 10 boobs are sore, they usually are before AF (due Friday) they were worse yesterday and based on that I think I'm out. I'm also covered in spots again number one symptom of AF.

Good luck to all where ever you are in your cycles.

Seahawk80 · 14/11/2016 14:53

From the other side I miss everything so much that I can't have that I say enjoy it while you can!

Oggy88 · 14/11/2016 18:48

Can't wait to miss it from the other side Smile

KirstyinNorway · 14/11/2016 18:51

oggy and cats that did make me laugh. I am on a 3-day jaunt to Bergen this week. It's pissing it down raining heavily and distinctly un-Rome-like. Plus I'm not fertile this week so DH is only getting half the attention he's used to Grin

hells I'm so sorry about the chemical pregnancy, that's very sad. Plus this month too - your body's playing mind games with you. I hope it gets its act together soon!

pie I'm sorry you were feeling rubbish, let's hope we're both feeling less itchy soon!Blush

lisa I also enjoyed POAS-ing each morning with the opks, and you're totally right about it waking you up!

I don't think it really does make a huge difference bliss, as long as you're not jumping straight in the shower and squirting water up there, his ahem spasms should have got everything right up into your cervix. Lovely. I basically just take it as an excuse for an extra 10 mins in bed while he makes me a cup of tea. Good luck despite the sore boobs!

CatRash · 14/11/2016 19:09

Hey, I'm new here too...

I'm 28 and husband is 30
CD29
Cycle 2 (although it feels like way more than that)

I feel like the 2WW turns me a bit Jekyll and Hyde....half of me is convinced I'm pregnant and the other half is convinced I'm just about to get AF!

My last cycle (1st one after 11 years on the injection) was 26 days but luteal phase was only 8 days.

At the minute I'm on CD 29 and 11dpo so feeling hopefully but trying to resist poas until 14dpo.

Excited to be able to talk to fellow ttc-ers!!!

Blissfulignorance · 14/11/2016 19:30

Welcome catrash join the madness!

Kirsty please tell me how you trained your DH to make the tea!! Mine is asleep before I've even left the room!

MouseLove · 14/11/2016 19:46

Let's all get upduffed in Rome. Ok? Deal. Grin

Hi CatRash!

Feeling a bit sad this evening: DH has gone to bed early with a headache when I wanted to DTD, and for some ridiculous reason it's made me feel a bit despondent. Been trying quite hard to be positive about TTC but today everything feels a bit rubbish.

KirstyinNorway · 15/11/2016 07:50

bliss I just whine repeatedly until he brings me one. Happy wife, happy life and all that Wink

Sorry you're feeling sad lisa, it's not ridiculous at all. Last month DH was too tired on one of my fertile days - we'd already DTD in the morning and I wanted to be sure in the evening. He did try but his body was against him. It made me so sad, he just rolled over and went to sleep Confused (that should really be an eye-roll emoji). Try to be positive and try again this morning!

Hi catrash! Good luck with your TWW. I'm about 9dpo but AF is due on the 23rd so I've got 8 more days to get through without POAS. I definitely don't feel preggo and can't even start to imagine getting a positive. It's weird. I'll be hella disappointed if AF arrives though, I cried for two days last time (AF hormones don't help) but mouse helped me realise it's a good thing as it at least means your body is working and doing what it needs to to conceive. FX we both have good news soon!

Oggy88 · 15/11/2016 07:57

Welcome, CatRash!

Sorry to hear that, Lisa. It's amazing how roles can change! Sometimes I even feel guilty during my fw, like I'm keeping the poor guy locked in the basement and milking his semen for some twisted purpose when I feel like lol! That's why I'm not talking to him about the whole ttc business. He knows I'm tracking something (he calls it "measuring vagina") but he never knows what's going on other than when AF is around. Other times I just let him seduce me (haha, as if!). As Kirsty (I think Hmm) said a while ago, its like all his Christmases have come at once!

CatRash · 15/11/2016 08:13

Thanks for all the welcomes!!! And lol at Oggy milking semen! Poor (lucky) guy!!

My OH is quite happy to just go with the flow - I did try explaining ovulation etc to him but he looked a bit spaced out (bit like when he explaining something dull like cement to me) so in the end I just said we need to have lots of sex which he's fine with. He initiated it twice on Sunday....didn't ha e the heart to tell him it was wasted efforts as currently in the 2WW!! Bless him...

So today (12dpo) I woke up convinced I'm pregnant but I'm going to wear a panty liner just in case AF makes a show while I'm at work.

I feel really warm this morning, like I'm heated from the inside, and I had a dream about showing my husband a load of white creamy CM in my knickers (seriously wtf?!?)

KirstyinNorway · 15/11/2016 08:28

Better than my dream last night that DH sold our two house rabbits to "make space for a baby", I literally woke up crying!
