Bah - sorry Eva Sad But you're not out until you're out! I know the feeling of impending AF though - rubbish.

Dtd last night - and that's it for this cycle I think! Fingers crossed.

Am currently sitting in GP waiting room and about to see someone to ask about starting process for tests. Wish me luck!!

Pyjamas81 · 10/11/2016 10:02

Doc update: she said I need to come in for a blood test 7 days after I think I last ovulated (wish had done opks now!) to see whether I actually am ovulating and then considering my age, I need to go for something called an AMH test which I have to do privately. That test checks how many eggs I have left and their quality. She said I was doing the right thing because of my age and what my cycles have been like, so at least I didn't feel like I was overreacting!

Piehunter · 10/11/2016 10:37

mouse I flew with syringes and needles and oramorph in my hand luggage last month so I think opks will be fine Grin I wouldn't put vitamins in by themselves, in a wash bag maybe though? I'm sorry you've had such a rough time recently, hope you're able to relax and have a nice time away!

pj's glad you have a plan! That must be reassuring.

Eva sorry you think you're out already, pre-AF symptoms are probably the same as preg this early on though?

blissful I've been having similar cm, creamy and loads of it.. According to ovia it happened first cycle but not since. So who knows!!

I'm 6dpo today and have been an emotional nightmare the last couple of days, I cried on my birthday in the evening (on way home after a fantastic evening at a gig!) because McDonald's had run out of what I wanted Blush this isn't normal but maybe I'm just going crazy after 5 cycles of this malarkey! Grin

LisaSimpsonsbff · 10/11/2016 11:17

For what it's worth, my doctor friend is absolutely adamant that all symptoms before a missed period are just chance/wishful thinking. She says if you haven't got enough hormone for a BFP on a test you haven't got enough hormone to feel. I don't know whether I believe her entirely - SO MANY women do seem to know before the test - but I actually find it quite comforting.

JeNeBaguetteRien · 10/11/2016 13:47

Pjs I saw my GP today too. Having the first blood test on Monday which is 8 days after I got my static smiley so hopefully about right. DH is going for SA then we go back when results are in.
Mouse for all the space the vitamin tub or pack takes up I'd just pack it for your Roman holiday!

Pyjamas81 · 10/11/2016 13:49

Good luck nene! I could only get an appointment for Wednesday which I suspect is a bit after the 8 days - does that matter?

MouseLove · 10/11/2016 18:57

Piehunter thanks. Think I'm going to just take the whole tub as baguette suggested. I suppose it's only a small tub.

Well. AF is over. My first in 14 months. And my first "real" non pill proper all guns blazing AF in 13 years. It wasn't very guns blazing thankfully. No cramps and quite light. I feel great. Temps are still yoyo and I would expect that's due to my overactive thyroid that's low priority to be treated according to my doc. I'm at the rheumatoid specialist in a few weeks and DHs birthday trip to Rome to look forward to in a week!!!! I'm feeling quite relaxed about TTC and excited!

JeNeBaguetteRien · 10/11/2016 19:35

Pjs I don't think a day or 2 late should matter, the progesterone level is supposed to stay high for a few days. And it's hard to pinpoint ovulation exactly even with OPKs as it says 12-48 hours after peak. Ayway DH is supposed to abstain for a few days before SA which will be a shock to the system after all this DTDWink

Eva30 · 10/11/2016 19:45

Thanks everyone. I wish pie but I just know it's not happened this month.
pjs that's fantastic work by your GP. I wish my own GP was as good and helpful as yours. Good luck for the tests. Haha typical that, the first month you haven't done opks!
mouse your trip to Rome sounds lovely, sounding very positive.
jene good luck for the tests
lisa that's good to know, I can hold on to a glimmer of hope for longer every cycle now lol
seahawk only 5 days to go!

Eva30 · 10/11/2016 19:53

Some of these are interesting!

WarwickAlice · 10/11/2016 20:44

Thank you to all the ladies for your lovely messages to me earlier in the week. I know I am the voice of doom and gloom around the time of my af, but your messages really helped me through. I have been working at home since Tuesday to recover my emotions. I had an anxiety and diazepam free day today so I think I'm feeling a bit more positive. Holiday now, and I'm determined to enjoy it even though the af witch is still with me. Thank you all xxx

Pyjamas81 · 10/11/2016 21:22

Was probably only because she didn't know whether the give me blood tests or a zimmerframe Eva ha ha. My age had a lot to do with it! Hope AF doesn't come for you, but if it does, make sure you treat yourself Smile

Glad you're feeling more positive Warwick - AF hormones don't help either - it affects me by turning me into a fire breathing dragon. Poor work colleagues, they get the brunt of it! But we're mostly women, so we're quite open about going through our monthly nightmare phases ha ha.

bassetmum · 10/11/2016 22:50

Well dtd failed tonight almost at the point and my oh got foot cramp. He lost the mood completely. Will have to wait and see if this month will be a success or not. Hes so cut up about it bless him

Warwick enjoy your holiday. My af hormones always make me so sad. I used to say i got pre menstrual depression.

Pjs your not that old. Everyone keeps reminding me that after this next birthday at the end of November Ive got one year to 30.

Eva thats an interesting read

Long time gone, this week has been very busy at work! TGI Friday everyone Smile

Cats glad you had a good cycle, fx you.
mouse what a month! Virtual hug your way. Come on a Rome baby!!
Eva well done on SW Smile I'm not in a group or anything but have been running a couple of times a week and heavy-using Tori Haschka's cook book, and have lost half a stone since August which I'm pleasantly surprised about. It's definitely not easy in the lead up to winter so good on you!
pjs and baguette I really hope the doc's have good news for you or can offer useful treatments. It must be quite scary starting all this but I'm sure it will be worth it.
pie We are almost marching cycles! I'm 6dpo today I think. This TWW is interminable.
warwick I hope you enjoy your hols despite the witch accompanying you!

So for me... I'm 6dpo, woke up feeling sicky this morning which is probably nothing but I'm reading too much into it anyway(!) I also fell asleep mid-afternoon yesterday while waiting for the kettle to boil (I work from home) so either I have ridiculously early baby symptoms I should be so lucky or I'm getting a cold. Speaking of which, it's minus 12 degrees today and I have 3 pairs of socks on.

KirstyinNorway · 11/11/2016 06:31

I should say, I was flopped out on the sofa waiting for the kettle, I didn't fall asleep while standing at the counter!

Seahawk80 · 11/11/2016 07:53

4 days to go now Eva! I told my boss yesterday as we don't normally work in the same office. She was great and has said that if it doesn't go well on Tuesday and I need some time off it's fine. I'm feeling quite positive at the moment. Spotting finally seems to have stopped and I feel so terrible I think things must be progressing!

Good luck with the drs and results PJs, they do seem to fast track you a bit at our age - which is good but also made me feel so old!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Piehunter · 11/11/2016 10:24

seahawk really glad spotting has stopped! Hopefully scan will be all good and you can relax a tiny bit.

kirsty I'm often tww-ing on my own here, my cycle is opposite to almost everyone else! 7 dpo, no sign of the evil pre AF spot yet, but I am grumpy and as usual my boobs hurt. Not symptom spotting too badly this month, think it's a bit easier after a few months as you get to know what's within the range of normal.. EVERYTHING!! I should start spotting on Monday and full AF Tuesday so will know more then!

Eva at least it's a little easier when you've decided you know it's not happening this month. I don't temp so I feel like I miss some of the earlier signs that AF is on the way.

Blissfulignorance · 11/11/2016 10:48

I'm about the same as you pie and Kirsty 7dpo I think today, AF due a week today. I think I have sore boobs, still having creamy cm tmi! Not sure about this cycle. I'm spotty but my makeup that I've used this week is pretty old... I know I'm gross.

TheCatsMother99 · 11/11/2016 15:28

Pyjamas , you're far off needing a zimmer, but that did make me giggle. I have found though that the majority on here appear to be younger but in 'real life' it does seem that a lot of people wait until their mid to late 30's before having kids. I'm 30 and only just feel like I'm at the point where I want them, one of my closest friends is 37 and has said she's thinking of having kids in a year or two.

Anyway, as I've gone a little off track, it's good that your Dr is being active in sending you for tests, sounds like a positive step, you might find this month is your month anyway but always good to have started a backup plan just in case. Same goes for baguette, hope all goes well with the tests.

In other news.....It's almost the weekend... woohoo!!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 11/11/2016 15:47

I'm 29 but in my social group that's very young to have a baby - I have very few friends with children. One of the reasons why I suspect work might not be thrilled is I think they think I'm too young to go off on mat leave during this contract (three years)!

Piehunter · 12/11/2016 08:51

I'm 25 and am aware I'm starting really young! I'm high risk and want to give everything the best chance possible, plus as I don't do paid work regularly due to my disability I'm not having to worry about my career/maternity pay etc- we already just rely on DH's wage. Early 30's seems absolutely more normal "in real life" than on here.

Seahawk, just 3 days to go now! Hope it's flying by for you (more than it is for me Wink)

KirstyinNorway · 12/11/2016 09:05

I'm 27 (will be 28 next month). DH is 32, so I guess we probably count as a younger couple for TTC here on Mumsnet (if we are lucky, I'll be the second out of my group of friends to have kids; DH will be the third). I'm desperate to have children and DH is very ready too, although I think that's more to do with circumstance than age (married, own a house, both in stable jobs).

Blissfulignorance · 12/11/2016 10:59

Similar boat to you Kirsty I'm 27 (28 in Jan) DH is 30. I'm almost the last out of my friends but I am the youngest too (ones been trying for 2 years). DH has 2 friends that are fathers but live far away. I don't think any of us are 'old' my MIL had her last child when she was 49! Don't worry pj yore a spring chicken!

bassetmum · 12/11/2016 12:00

Looks like there are a lot of us in the same age bracket. Im 29 in just under a fortnight. Most of my friends either have kids in school age or are just starting to have babies. Although I went out last night and they were playing throwback tunes in the pub and played "yeah" by usher and sone justin timberlake and it made me feel old that that music is now classed as throwback.

Pie I wouldn't say you were young. My brother and my future sil had their little boy when they were 23.

JeNeBaguetteRien · 12/11/2016 18:39

Thanks Kirsty and CatsMother, just glad to get the tests done and take it from there. I'm older than you pjs (I'm 36) so will also need to get a zimmer frame Wink
Good luck to everyone, younger or older. I have friends the same age as me who have little babies and older children, even teens, but mostly started in their 30s. I think the right time is when you feel ready and secure in yourself (and your relationship if you're not using a donor - I know one woman who has done this - she said it's preferable in her situation than in a rocky relationship and didn't feel she had time to meet someone and then wait to have children).
Kirsty Norway looks like a great place to bring up a family!
