Alice, I really feel for you. I remember your previous posts and the reasons why TTC was so emotionally difficult for you. Before we started I was worried that it would trigger my anxiety issues; fortunately although I've become obsessed(!), it doesn't seem to have done this, but I can easily imagine how it might. It's really good that you've talked to your GP about this - did she also recommend counselling?

LisaSimpsonsbff · 08/11/2016 14:09

Basset, I don't. I read that it's unnecessary, and if I waited half an hour to wee after sex I would get cystitis - I'm very prone. Aren't you also trying to be subtle with your H about fertile times so he doesn't get stressed about it? I think he might pick up on that hint if so!

bassetmum · 08/11/2016 14:13

Haha true lisa although to be fair sometimes we cuddle afterwards, sometimes i get up straight away. Although I think I am also underestimating him not knowing what's going on with my cycle he's pretty good at knowing when it was a "bad" weekend when I was on the pill.

Hello bean! waves
Ah warwick, I am so sorry AF got you. pjs is right (and lovely words pjs, you made me feel better after AF last month and you seem to know just what to say). Good work on scheduling a doc's appointment, I have no idea of your backstory so excuse me if this is oversimplifying things - try to do one thing a day just for you. Something to make you feel really nice. It might be turning off the TV earlier than normal and sitting quietly with a trashy magazine, or painting your nails. It might even just be sitting down in the shower for an extra 10 minutes with your eyes closed and feeling all warm and cosy (I know that sounds super weird but when I've got AF, it's basically all that soothes me - I don't have a bath!)
basset I don't bother tilting my pelvis but I do lie still for 15-20 minutes after DTD to minimise gravitational effects(!)

I'm now in the TWW (I reckon approximately 2 days past ov), and for some reason I have a gut feeling that this month isn't my month?! I don't know why... It just doesn't feel like it. I don't feel upset or anything - just can't imagine a BFP. Weird, eh?

HellsBellsK · 08/11/2016 15:11

Really sorry Alice take some time to yourself. The girls gave great advice about being positive, enjoy the break away.

Sometimes our bodies are very cruel.

Hope the TWW goes quickly for you Kirsty

I also don't tilt my pelvis but I would lie in bed for about 10/15 after.

Well Im on CD 8 and still bleeding after AF was 3 days late. Its so unusual for me. AF usually stays around for 5 days may be 6 max with light spotting.
Wish it would just go away now - I am also so emotional, think I've cried around 4 times this morning.

TheCatsMother99 · 08/11/2016 17:46

Alice - sending you a hug and hoping you're OK. I think the way mouse thinks positively is a lovely way to think and shes right, it's a fresh opportunity that awaits. Treat yourself to something you love this week, a big bar of chocolate, a bottle of your fave wine, a new top. You deserve a little treat.

Hi bean I'm quite new here too and also similar to you in terms of numbers of cycles etc - fingers crossed for us both!

TheCatsMother99 · 08/11/2016 18:01

Forgot to say that I'm apparently in my fw, according to Ovia app (even though it might not be accurate as I'm not 100% sure how long my cycles are as only had one af since coming off the pill), and my DH has got a headache... bloody typical! Feel like it's role reversal Grin

Was planning to DTD today as been 2 days since last did but might need to wait till tomorrow now!!

MouseLove · 08/11/2016 19:48

A little update. So I think AF is coming to an end. CD4 today and I was really light.

Unfortunately Saturday my uncle passed away. I've decided not to go to the funeral as it's a burial and on the anniversary of my nannas funeral. I don't want anymore deaths this year. Sad

And this morning DH had a car accident. Some silly woman pulled across two lanes to leave a roundabout and went into the side of him. He's ok but shaken up badly. So I had to work from home today while I sorted everything out with the car.

Roll on next week when we can have some time away, hopefully ovulate and then have an Italian conception in Rome. (I can dream hey lol) Wink

bassetmum · 08/11/2016 20:16

Oh mouse you are really having a time of it. I am so sorry about your uncle. Sending lots of cyber hugs for you. I am so glad your dh is okay. Flowers

TheCatsMother99 · 08/11/2016 20:28

Sorry to hear about your uncle, mouse. You definitely need a break & so does your DH. Hope things start to look up for you soon.

Seahawk80 · 08/11/2016 21:08

Hugs mouse what an awful day. Fx for the Italian conception! I keep trying to convince myself that we conceived in Paris!

Look after yourself warwick it will happen. Def get yourself some treats and enjoy your holiday. I had a really hard time the last few months and then DH and I had a couple of weekends away and just had a great time the 2 of us and it made me relax and just enjoy our lives together. I know it's easy to say after a BFP but I'm actually really glad we had those extra few months as (fingers crossed) we won't be able to go out drinking late and spend the morning lazing in bed and just thinking of ourselves agin for a long time.

eva and pie less than a week to go to the 15th - feels like it's going so slowly!

JeNeBaguetteRien · 08/11/2016 21:16

((Mouse)) here's hoping for a better year ahead. And a little bambino!
((Warwick)) as Basset and others said, try to think of this AF as a new cycle beginning. So many of us here know how you're feeling. I really do think it's drummed into us how we needt be careful tp prevent pregnancy that it's natural to think it will happen quickly.
Have you got any coping strategies that have helped with your anxiety in the past?

Fingers crossed for a liberal sprinkling of baby dust for all on this thread!

JeNeBaguetteRien · 08/11/2016 21:17

Whoops I tried to do hugs and bold but failed miserably.
Sooo tired, sorry. Debating whether I have the energy for more BD tonight...

Seahawk80 · 08/11/2016 21:52

Oh and Bassett, I did start lying down after sex and popping a pillow under my bum the month I conceived - but it's probably just a coincidence!

Eva30 · 08/11/2016 21:57

Yeah I'm the same pjs and lisa, I have a supply of cheapie opks which I use in between clear blue ones on cd13-16ish.

warwick sorry for AF
mouse so sorry about your uncle, very sad. And hope your DH is ok

seahawk yes only a week indeed, but I think AF is coming, I started with pre-AF spots on my chin today, ugh.

TheCatsMother99 · 09/11/2016 16:14

Right, I'm trying to get in to the habit of this testing malarky.

I will test again tonight at about 9pm to see if any darker but does this look posotive, or is it still too faint?

Eva30 · 09/11/2016 20:42

thecatsmother that looks positive to me (or if not positive definitely on the verge). This is my last +ve OPK. What cd are you on?

Cd25 and I know I'm out. Spots, temp drop this morning, can feel AF coming. On to Cycle 8. Each month I try to find a positive and this month it's that I won't have to worry about making excuses for not drinking at xmas partiesSmile
To be honest it's not bothered me much this month because I've lost all hope and think it's never going to happen so I don't get my hopes up too much. It would be more of a shock if it did actually happen.

How is everyone else? Anyone in the latter part of tww?

Eva30 · 09/11/2016 20:43

Sorry that post sounded really depressing!
On a happier note, I lost 2.5lb on slimming world this week!Grin

MrsG280516 · 09/11/2016 20:55

That does look positive TheCatsMother get DTD! It might go slightly darker very soon but within a day or so it'll be negative again. You should ovulate within 12-48 hours of a positive OPK.

Blissfulignorance · 09/11/2016 21:11

Can't help cats know idea about opks maybe positive?

Sorry you're feeling like that Eva but huge congrats on the weight loss. So hard this time of year isn't it.

So TMI alert!! I've had a ridiculous amount of creamy cm today, 5 dpo I think. Obviously spent an hour googling some say good sign others say normal for them. I think I've warped my meme pry and can't remember if this is normal for me?! Although I'm sure I'd have noticed this much before?? Any thoughts? Am I crazy? Confused

TheCatsMother99 · 09/11/2016 21:32

Oh good!! To be honest, I'm just pretty glad I seem to be in some form of a cycle and actually ovulating.

I'm CD15, Eva. So seems about right, might put some Barry white music on later and see what happens Grin

I can understand how you feel, Eva, but try to be positive and, as you say, enjoy the thought of a drink at Christmas and fx for a happy surprise.

Well done on your weight loss too! I love SW, it has made a huge difference to my life and how I see food. Must admit, I've fallen way off the waggon with it though and need to get back in to the swing of it as I've never felt better than when I was properly on plan.

Seahawk80 · 09/11/2016 22:12

Sorry Eva have some wine and enjoy yourself over the festive season. Someone at my office used the antibiotics excuse last year so I think I'm just going to pretend to drink if everything is ok. Well done on the weight loss too Smile

MouseLove · 09/11/2016 23:02

Sending hugs to everyone wether you need it or not. Thank you for asking for DH. He is ok, took today off work as he was still shaken up.

I've been a bit meh the last few days. TMI but lots of shooty bum pains yesterday and today a bad poop event (non-urgent just got urgent) haha.

AF is pretty much gone now and it was a day more than what I usually had. All together no real cramps (yay) and quite light with only two days of medium flow.

I'm going to try OPK this cycle to see if I'm actually ovulating. I'm not sure I actually did last cycle.

Has anyone ever taken OPK in hand luggage when flying? I'm thinking of leaving the thermometer at home but taking OPK with me as I'll be CD13-16 while we're in Rome and I don't want to miss it. Also how do you travel with vitamins? I don't fancy taking the whole pot but then realise that 3 loose vitamins looks totally dodgy!! We don't have hold luggage.

bassetmum · 10/11/2016 09:02

Cats that looks positive to me get dtd.

I think today might be ovulation day for me. Ive got mild cramps and slightly sharper pain moving from one side to the other (bit odd unless both ovaries are planning on releasing this month!). I'm also feeling rather wet, TMI sorry. Cd13/14 so bang on time I think. I will keep dtd tonight and again Saturday just in case.

Wow well done eva. I did weight watchers once and lost quite a bit on it. Luckily I haven't put it all back on again haha.

Seahawk can you use driving excuse?
