Ooh my period was 30th sept so we're a day apart hehe!
I couldn't wait to tell my DP - he can keep things quieter a lot easier than I can. Finding it so hard not telling anyone lol xx

19Laura88 · 29/10/2016 15:32

Haha it hasn't sunk in! Trying not to get too
Excited as it's very early days, I know when I tell him he'll be absolutely ecstatic! Might tell him tonight after they've gone I doubt they'll be here late.

Littlemisssugarplum88 · 29/10/2016 15:33

He might wonder why you're on the pop though Wink
Is this your first?!
Xx

19Laura88 · 29/10/2016 15:37

Ha true! Yes it is, got married two years ago, moved house at the beginning of July then talked about it and started trying beginning of August. How about you? Have you been trying long? In hindsight we haven't been trying long but it feels like forever, it consumes you I feel like I've thought about nothing else since August xx

KirstyinNorway · 29/10/2016 15:44

Eva we moved over here after visiting a friend who moved years ago. After several holidays we decided that the Scandinavian work/life balance, access to mountains for snowsports (DH and I are both mad on snowboarding and downhill/XC skiing) and general landscape just suited us to the ground. It's been 3 years now and remains the best decision we ever made. Would never come back to the UK unless something big happened to change our minds!

blissful I'm so with you on keeping your mouth shut until you're told. Today we bumped into a friend at the booze shop and when he saw me holding wine, he said "Oh, I thought you were pg since you weren't drinking when I last saw you!"... It took all my strength to laugh lightly and not say "Actually, we were trying but my period came so now I'm drinking wine for the next 6 days to get over the disappointment". That would have shut him up quickly! I know I'm massively overreacting by being so annoyed - but what if we HAD been pg and, heaven forbid, I'd had a mc? How would we have felt then? Just stop trying to predict out private life and be quiet until you're told! (Unreasonable rant, sorry - he's more DH's friend than mine so I don't feel like I can go full-angry-period-hormones at DH, you guys are copping it instead). I know he wasn't trying to be unkind, it just stung a bit.

basset so sorry AF arrived. Join me in a glass of wine tonight, won't you? Wine If I got pg any time between now and January I wouldn't make my SIL's wedding (no air travel in my last trimester, and also we would want baby to be born in Norway to avoid passport hassles) but we're just going ahead anyhow!

Glad you're feeling calmer pjs.

Massive congratulations 19laura88 well done you!

Littlemisssugarplum88 · 29/10/2016 15:47

Been trying on and off really for the last year; but I think this month was when we really really tried hard lol!
Yeah this is my first too :)
Aww lovely, I moved house in August. Our plan was to renovate, perhaps now we will just have to do little bits at a time xx

KirstyinNorway · 29/10/2016 16:25

So last night I was searching fruitlessly for a cheap multipack of opk that would ship to Norway. Because we're technically outwith the EU, no one on eBay will ship here, Amazon don't do delivery here and I even tried the German version of Amazon which will ship, but the prices are sky-high (£50 for 10 opk).

So I told DH what an opk was(!) and that I'd quite like some cheapies just to check I was calculating ov correctly. Today we searched in 5 chemists here and the lowest price we could get was 10 opk for 399NOK (£40)! So I told DH, 'don't worry - thats really expensive, I'll find a British friend who will accept delivery and then post them on to me.' Just about burst into tears when he said 'Oh, let's just buy them. Then we'll have them for using this month. It's worth it, isn't it?'

I mean, we're not skint but £4 per opk?! Shock He's a good 'un, my DH.

(Although he has stopped asking me what the acronyms here mean after I explained EWCF).

So I'm all ready for AF to bugger off and then begin this month with my opks!

Littlemisssugarplum88 · 29/10/2016 16:29

I might have some left that I could have sent on to you xx

KirstyinNorway · 29/10/2016 16:32

Ah littlemiss that is so kind. I'll start using the 10 I just bought and if I run through them a bit quick, I'd love to take you up on that.

I'll post you something interesting back from Norway as payback... Not chocolate though, the stuff they have here is terrible Confused

Littlemisssugarplum88 · 29/10/2016 16:37

Hahaha ooh sounds interesting lol!
They are so cheap posting out to the UK, think i got about 30 for a couple of pound. Can't you cancel your order?! Xx

KirstyinNorway · 29/10/2016 16:41

I wish! We ended up buying in town and I've ripped open the packaging to read the instructions (which are all in Norwegian, just for an extra giggle). Thank you so much for the offer though, and I will take you up on it for my next cycle if this one doesn't work out.

Side note: opk are called 'eggløsningstest' which translates roughly as 'egg loosening test'!

bassetmum · 29/10/2016 16:47

Thats crazy kirsty. Although I love the English translation for opks!

I might have a cider tonight with strictly Smile.

Wow thats a great hat pjs. Granny squares are good fun. So many different varieties of them. Ive attached a picture of a blanket I am slowly putting together between other projects. I am glad its not just me that gets bizarre hormonal reactions.

Bliss that is a fabulous hat. Can you share the pattern for it? Yeah cant complain first cycle was 28 days and this one 27 (well 26 if you count the spotting on Friday as af). I'm just so glad they didnt go back to how they were before I started on the pill. Sleeping on towels was one issue I had. It was awful.

Congratulations laura that's fantastic news.

Mojitos crochet is really that easy to pick up.

Wow basset Shock
That's beautiful. My mum has started to crochet and I've bought her a project book for Christmas. I can sew but anything with wool I just can't get to grips with hahaha.

Eva30 · 29/10/2016 17:39

Wow busy day on here!!
Huge congratulations laura!
Beautiful crochet pieces in the photos ladies
kirsty holy sht that's ridiculous prices for opks! As littlemiss* said, more than happy to post some over to you. Sounds like you made the perfect decision to move there (apart from OPK prices haha)Grin

OPK confusion solved - just did another one and it's positive, just took its time! Dtd Weds and last night so need to get another in tonight and might go for the double tomorrowGrin

Sod it I might make his day and tell him when he gets home soon! Thank you for the messages what a lovely bunch. Good luck to you all I'll keep following xx

KirstyinNorway · 29/10/2016 18:20

Do you know what, you're all just lovely, and made me a bit teary with offers of posting me opk's! Ha. Swear I'm not normally this emo, hormones are out of control! It's so nice to be able to talk anonymously here to people in the same boat.

Very pleased you're ov-ing eva, and laura how are you going to tell him? Just out of the blue or are you going to do a reveal-type thing?

I have a really daft thing for DH planned if it happens for me, but I can't tell until I get a BFP. So fx I get to tell you all soon Smile

KirstyinNorway · 29/10/2016 18:21

P.s. everything I crochet turns out looking like a prawn cracker, I am in awe of the pics here!

Littlemisssugarplum88 · 29/10/2016 18:39

Well I must say Kirsty, I've never heard them called that before hehe! Can't believe how much you paid for them though when they are so cheap over here!
Soo, I joined slimming world today just to hopefully slow down my weight gain (could have done with losing a stone anyway) xx

HellsBellsK · 29/10/2016 19:02

Busy Saturday on here!

Basset that looks amazing - I am useless at things like that. In school I made the sewing machine blow up Ek!

Eva Enjoy your night tonight Wink

Huge Congrats [Laura]

Thats a crazy price [Kirsty]

Still no AF here but keep going to the toilet to check. But I have been a day or two late before so not getting excited. Feel like I might get it as have period type cramps.

KirstyinNorway · 29/10/2016 19:11
