Been hectic few days just finished AF so on the wait for the go time!! Had to block book days with the hubby as a go time!! Fingers crossed for all you ladies! On another note have family flying in tomorrow from states so it's very hectic!!! Smile

MouseLove · 26/10/2016 19:15

Well I'm confused. CD41 today. No signs of AF.

LOADS of EWCM Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Absolutely nothing yesterday and a little today. My temp did go up a little today but not much.

Are you usually hotter or colder when you first wake to let's say a few hours later?

I temped at 4am today as I woke early. I usually do it at 5am. So i did it again at 5 and it was a lot lower than at 4. No idea what that means.

I haven't had any tummy pains at all the last few days. I'm stumped as to what's going on or if I've even ovulated at all this cycle.

Heatherbaby · 26/10/2016 21:54

Sorry to see AF made an appearance pjs hope you feel more positive in time for ttc (when you're ready to!)

I'm 8-10dpo (not sure which date you use as ov day as I got strong dark line on Sunday and stopped testing for the next few...)

I have no usual symptoms of AF arriving in a week. Usually my boobs are painful and heavy by now. Only gassy and bloated and weeing alot (maybe a mild case of cystitis?). Don't think I'm pg this month.

I'm having second thoughts with the whole putting career on hold for a baby idea. I reaalllyy want a baby but these few days alot of things have got to me at work and wondering if I should hold out for a promotion?

Hope everyone else is well and getting enough dtd if you're in your FW!

Heatherbaby · 26/10/2016 21:56

Ps. Saw my 5 month preg SIL today. She mentioned if she has a boy she is naming him the name I had earmarked for my future son for years SadSad feel ridiculously depressed about that and hoping she has a (2nd) girl now! Oh her first baby is barely 9 months old! Grrrr

MouseLove · 26/10/2016 22:00

Oh heather sending hugs, I know how you feel about the name, I have dread of anyone announcing my name. We decided a boys name probably around 10 years ago!! Shock.

On the career front, stop putting it on hold. Someone I work with just got a senior promotion. She's 7 months pregnant. Life doesn't stop. I have my review on Friday. I'm pushing for a promotion too.

Pyjamas81 · 26/10/2016 22:57

Thanks for all the support ladies - really appreciate it. Had a big glass of wine, went to see some stand up comedy with DH and had a double whisky as a night cap Smile

I've decided not to temp or OPK this month and just focus on DTD every other day from CD8. Not sure the three day in a row marathon after peak OPK day is doing us any favours. I've also made an appointment at GP to start the process of getting tests done, just to either set my mind at ease or deal with any issues sooner rather than later.

Eva30 · 27/10/2016 06:24

ohmoll hope you have a lovely time with your family from the states
mouse cd41, how frustrating! Hopefully AF will come soon and this will just be a random long cycle after stopping the pill.
heather I know it sounds crazy but I'd be so livid with that as well - funny the stuff we can get upset about on this rollercoaster!! Good luck, when will you test?
pjs that's what I felt like last time AF showed, it was definitely the worst cycle for making me feel down when AF showed. Tell doc you've been trying a bit longer than you actually haveWink Mine was crap, told me to come back in MarchAngry At least I have Xmas to keep me busy now and lots of festive cheer aroundGrin

Oh balls, that is not the right thread! I am so sorry!

I wanted to join in with you guys, but that was a reply to a different thread about me feeling a bit silly for being disappointed that AF appeared after my first cycle of trying.

So sorry about that... Can I just try again and introduce myself in a normal way?! Blush Blush Blush

MouseLove · 27/10/2016 07:46

Welcome Kirsty. Smile

Believe me, having AF show up is a lovely thing. Keep positive. It allows your body another fresh opportunity to get preggers. Unfortunately I'm still waiting for mine in my first cycle. Today is CD42. And yes, it's frustrating but there's nothing I can do about it. See it as this, this cycle for you is a new beginning. It's normal to feel sad but as long as you are aware it could take up to a year, then it kinda settles you. I'd say the first 3 weeks of my cycle I was all geared up to be pregnant straight away but did have a focus on getting AF. Then the forth week was hmmm. Maybe I am? And now after testing I'm back focusing on getting my AF.

Have you come off any birth control?
How long was the first cycle?
Did you ovulate? Are you tracking that?

Grin
KirstyinNorway · 27/10/2016 08:05

Thankyou Mouse, I hadn't thought of it that way, so appreciate the perspective.

I had my implant taken out in June. I was very regular on it, and have remained regular off it too. My last cycle was 26 days.

Stupid question - how do I know if I ovulated?! I presume I did as I had a normal cycle, but I've not bought any opk's - is that something you would consider sensible for everyone who is TTC should do, or is it just something related to someone that's having difficulty?

I am very new to all this, and naïvely assumed that if we just DTD every two days from end of AF (that's been good fun!), that would be enough.

I hope your AF comes imminently for you. I can only imagine how frustrated you are after 42 days.

Eva30 · 27/10/2016 08:08

Welcome kirsty - I think that's the best introductory post we've ever had here haha! Sorry for AFFlowers how long was your first cycle?

Cd11 here and started opks today, negative one today - expect ov on cd15-16

Eva30 · 27/10/2016 08:13

Just went to put my stats on FF and realised I'm actually on cd12 - bonus!
kirsty if you're regularly 26 day cycles then you are probably ovulating but if you want to be certain, or find out which day you ov specifically you can temp (will see a rise after ov) or use opks. A bbt thermometer can be bought on eBay for around £4 and opks can be bulk bought from Amazon or eBay for the same price

KirstyinNorway · 27/10/2016 08:16

Oh gosh Eva, was still in bed and snoozy, I always write responses in my 'notes' app thing (I hate doing it here) then paste in. DH heard me going "Oooh, no no no" from the bathroom; once I'd explained he helpfully said "they'll all think you're really weird now, eh?", then disappeared again to continue brushing his teeth Confused

First cycle was 26 days, which is normal for me. I've not tried opks, thinking now I should. We just DTD every other day last month, with a few extras thrown in at CD 9,10,11.

You seem to expect ov much later than I did, perhaps my estimation was out. Wishing you the best of luck for this month! Sorry I'm not able to find your stats - which cycle are you on now?

KirstyinNorway · 27/10/2016 08:18

XP there. Thanks for the advice, will order some today as I like to do anything that counts as an 'action'.

Yay for one more day towards ov for you! Smile

bassetmum · 27/10/2016 09:23

Welcome Kirsty. I too have fallen foul of posting comments in the wrong thread its very easily done haha especially in the app. I don't opk or bbt but I do track my symptoms which gives me a rough idea when I ovulated hence today being either 11/12 dpo on cd 26.

Hows everyone doing thats in the tww? I am definitely fighting the poas urge but I know it makes more sense to try and see the weekend out.

MrsG280516 · 27/10/2016 09:31

Morning everyone! 3dpo here after having FF confirm ov this morning, now the waiting really begins. I'm thinking of testing at 12dpo as we have a family party that night and wouldn't want to drink if there's a chance I could be pregnant!

Hi Kirsty Smile I'd say its completely up to you if you feel its necessary to do OPKs or temp. I came off the pill at the start of this month after being on some form of contraception for nearly 10 years, so I decided I wanted to know what my body was going to do. Along with the advice of the lovely ladies on here, tracking my temperature and using OPKs has really helped me figure everything out.

Eva30 · 27/10/2016 09:40

kirsty my cycles are a bit longer though, 30 days. I'm 30, ttc#1 and on cycle 7 now (I can't believe I'm not pg after 7 cycles to be honest but have now accepted that it'll take as long as it takes).

Please no-one mention Bake Off - I'm doing my best to avoid all talk of it so I can watch it on catch up tonight. No morning news for me this morning and I had to frantically turn the radio off on the car when they started to talk about bake off!!

Heatherbaby · 27/10/2016 09:48

Welcome kirsty I read your first post wondering why I didn't recognise any of the names in bold Grin

mouse thanks for your encouraging words re career vs baby! You're right, a baby or being pg shouldn't necessarily hold me back!

Still gutted about the baby name stealing SIL but whatever we be will be etc etc

eva af is due on Tuesday so I have a whole weekend to get through and a day either side.. soooo impatient! I can't begin to guess anymore if this is the month, I don't feel any symptoms.. just totally ordinary, not even the usual pms madness!

I dreamt I had a positive test but then it became kind of deformed and streaky so I dismissed the result and woke up before I could try another Grin is this proof of my slow descent to insanity??

MouseLove · 27/10/2016 10:02

Kirsty I think if you're DTD every other day you're covering your bases. (And bloody good effort haha)

However the reason I ask if you're ovulating is that it's needed to see if you're being effective. OPKS won't hurt. Especially if you're upset about not catching so soon. It will help you get a better picture of what's going on. I started temping (my basal thermometer was £5 on amazon) but my chart is all over the place. So I have no idea if I've even ovulated this cycle. Going to try OPK if AF ever shows up.

HellsBellsK · 27/10/2016 10:23

Morning Ladies,

Hi Kirsty welcome aboard! I am on my first cycle AF due this Saturday I dont use OPKS yet. I said I would start them after Christmas if i'm not pregnant. We have similar cycles I'm around 26/27 days.

Bassetmum ttw is going okay. I am also fighting not to POAS before period is due on Saturday.
I feel like my period may come early. Having cramps, back a bit sore. TMI I keep getting stabbing pains down below also which is unusual.

I do feel a bit sick during the day - but I honestly think its all in my head!
Also bloated which wouldn't be uncommon coming up to AF.
Boobs aren't as sore as they normally would be.

KirstyinNorway · 27/10/2016 10:40

Hi MrsG, sounds like a good idea just to have that extra info - especially for the sake of a couple of quid. Can I just ask, if you are 3 dpo, how is your FF telling you that you're ov this morning?

Eva 7 cycles is quite the wait; your attitude is spot on though, and I'm sending good vibes your way.
(And I live in Norway so I haven't been able to get any of this GBBO so far Sad )

Heather, I'd be so annoyed about SIL taking my name - I'm always worried when people announce that they'll choose "mine". One of my pals chose her wee boy's name and then her brother and SIL chose the same one with a spelling change 12 months later. No one was offended - wonder how your SIL would feel? Or would that just rule it out for you too?

mouse I'm nothing if not determined Grin DH thinks all his Christmasses have come at once.
Come on your AF! (There's something I never thought I'd say)

You ladies all sound lovely, I'm glad I found this thread.

MrsG280516 · 27/10/2016 10:56

Sorry Kirsty I meant that this morning when I took my temperature (3rd high temp in 3 days) FF has confirmed that ovulation took place on Monday. I've attached my chart for you to see what I mean.

It takes 3 high(er) temperatures in a row to confirm that you've ovulated the day before the increase, if that makes sense at all?

First time ttc - thread four
bassetmum · 27/10/2016 11:04

Hells I can sympathise with the stabbing pains I have had what I could only describe as a pinch on the right hand side in the area I would imagine my uterus is. If we are being tmi I have been checking my cervix this month and it was high soft and open around ovulation (as expected) then it became low hard and closed for the time since ovulation but then from Monday its become higher and softer again but still closed. Dr google says this could be anything haha so we will see.

Kirsty this thread has been a real bonus for me to have someone to talk to about what's going on.

Eva well done on avoiding anything to do with gbbo. Its everywhere this morning on the news and social media. Luckily I managed to watch it on time this week.

Blissfulignorance · 27/10/2016 19:03

Hi all

I've calmed down a bit now and thinking more rationally. Cycle 4 cd 5 today, AF still in the house but looks like she's packing her bags today.

Welcome Kirsty your posts made me chuckle.

I have a question for those ladies taking pregnacare or folic acid or any conception vitamin, at what time of day do you take them? I'm having trouble remembering to take mine, I usually take it in the evening with dinner but very often forget, particularly if I'm at work. Anyone else the same or have I just lost my last marble?

Also fx for all you ladies in the 2ww and those of us who are about to embark on the fw.

Eva let us know when you're caught up on GBBO!
