If you are a lurker (we know you are out there) then it's time to jump in and say hi we don't bite...honest

We've had a bit of a bfp success streak so let's continue that on into thread 5!!

My fertility scan was two weeks ago and she couldn't see anything and I did a pregnancy test two weeks ago and it was negative so I guess that means I'm 4 weeks at the max? (I think??) god so long to wait!!!

Ok really confused now, just did a clear blue conception test and it says 3+ so that means I'm minimum 5 weeks pregnant. But if that was the case wouldn't it have shown up on my scan/test 2 weeks ago??
Not sure what to say to my dr as if they go by the first day of my last period that makes me 7 weeks tomorrow!

Congratulations, HighHopes! Think you'll need to go for an early scan to check your dates. Your doctor may be able to refer you for this? There's always the possibility that it could be twins... that can cause tests to show a stronger/further along result because of the hormone levels but it could also just be that they missed it on the scan the other week. Either way, an early scan should let you know. x

Ooh exciting (although bloody confusing) HighHopes!! Tell the doctor exactly what's happening and that it is really stressing you out. They will most likely send you for a scan then as it's upsetting you but also becauae they will go by your lmp and assume you are 7 weeks already so it will pick up little bean on a scan 😊
Being 5 weeks you could have concieved the week before your scan and they wouldn't have picked that up! I have everything crossed for you that everything is perfectly ok with baby and that life let you skip a few weeks of worry 😉😁 X

If the test said 3+ doesn't that mean I could be minimum 3 weeks pregnant? If so, I'll have to wait weeks to see anything on a scan hmmm

I guess you could be 5 weeks highhopes as a test 2 weeks ago would have only still been like 7dpo so too early to pick up and the scan wouldn't pick up anything by then too, it'd still be travelling down the tube :). How exciting. I expect they will book you for an early scan as they will go by lmp date. Are you going to call drs tomorrow?

3+ means 5 weeks+ pregnant. I had a scan at epu due to pain at 5+2 and there was a baby with a heartbeat already (measuring 5+2 exactly which is the smallest measurement there is, I think it was 1.5mm or something)!! That is quite unusual though, the sonographer said at 5 weeks usually there is just a sac, a baby should usually be seen by 6ish weeks. So not long to go and they should see something to date you more accurately.

Congradulations highhopes! Definately tell your Dr how you are feeling they should send you for an early scan.

Aww basset maybe this cycle will be lucky number 3.

Highhopes can I ask if you took ac all the way through your cycle or stopped when you ovulated...read so many different bits of advice.

Also anyone know if you stop when you are ovulating is that when you get a positive on an opk or just around cd14?

Oh wow that's a good sign to see a heartbeat so early! Moonlight Not sure whether to wait a week or two as I'd rather be able to see something than not if you know what I mean? And it's more accurate to date the further on you are isn't it? I'm gonna try really hard and push it to the back of my mind yeah right!
BBS I took AC for 5 days in Sep which brought on a bleed so I stopped for a week and then started taking it again for two weeks then stopped (in the hope that I'd ovulated by then- but had no positive opks) & then when my period was late I started taking it again thinking it might bring on a bleed again but nothing happened (obviously didn't expect to be pregnant) and now I'm taking it every other day to wean myself off, will switch to every 3 days, every 4 days etc as I've read going cold turkey in early pregnancy can lead to a drop in hormones causing miscarriage.
It might be a load of rubbish but I don't want to take the risk!
Most reviews online say you should stop after ovulation though.

Yeah I would definately wait a few weeks like you said I would really worry if there wasn't a heartbeat yet although it doesn't mean anything that early on as can be hard to find before 7 weeks. I'm sure when you speak to the Dr they will refer you anyway :) be good to get some answers. I'm so excited for you after the crap time you've had recently with everything going on.

So after being unable to test for ovulation due to being away the weekend OV was due, I now feel so unsettled this cycle about whether I ovulated or not this cycle. I have bought some AC from amazon, thinking that I will use it next cycle but I'm a bit apprehensive. I've read on other forums that it can do the reverse and make your cycles longer if you don't really have an issue. I have been inspired by you both Luci and HighHopes but still doubting myself. My cycles are currently 38-42 days in length. Any advice would be gratefully received. 😐 I've been off the pill now since February and beginning to lose hope x

Soooooooo FF thinks I ovulated 5 days ago on CD40 excatly when I had all that EWCM and weird low down pains. My crosshairs popped up this morning. ( I previously had crosshairs on CD23 but FF removed them a few days later saying it wasn't confident the data was correct lol.

I think a silly 3am temp on day 42 threw it out a little which is why it's taken 5 days. Although my temps are not stable so I'm not taking it as gospel. Looks like if AF isn't here in another 2 weeks I'll be POAS again.

tommy I suppose there's no harm in giving AC a try, 38-40 days is a pretty long cycle. I started taking it on first day of af and then stopped when I got my positive opk which was around 2 weeks after the first day of af. X

After your success Luci I am going to give AC a whirl just as soon as AF rears her ugly head. How are the early stages of pregnancy treating you anyway? X

AF is due tomorrow or Monday for me. I have literally not been able to stop eating all day and am slightly achey on one side so I guess af will show her face again. Who knew it wasn't as simple as dtd unprotected

I'm so confused. Last weekend I had lots of ewcm so was hopeful I was ovulating. Now just had more this weekend. So not a clue what's going on. We dtd Sat, Tues and Friday but I'm fretting it's not enough or was at the wrong times. Ah well. The wait continues...CD44 now (post pill, no AF)

Pebble. Could have written this myself. CD45 today. I had two clear EWCM periods during this cycle. From around CD11-16 and then again at CD37-41 with a day in the middle of those periods that had absolutely nothing. It could be that your body was trying to ovulate but didn't. And then tried again? FF now thinks I ovulated 5 days ago (right on the money for EWCM) but my temps are all over the place really.

I temped religiously when ttc DD1. My temps were pretty stable then on the day before my BFP went down (or up, whichever indicates AF). I never got a positive OPK either yet clearly ovulated as I have a 2yo to prove it 😂 I'm not bothering this time as my body is obviously out to trick me. I'm hoping random ewcm this weekend is just it's idea of a joke to mess with me.

Does ewcm usually mean you are ovulating or that you're about to. I've forgotten.

Annoyed with myself as I swore I'd be chilled out this time round and wait for AF so had a good idea of my cycles. Who was I kidding?!

Mouse and Pebble I'm in the same boat this cycle too. Not sure when or if I ovulated. Dtd 3x during predicted fw so will have to wait and see but not holding out much hope. Driving me a bit crazy because I never actually saw that peak opk like I usually do 😬

Yes, EWCM is good. It's usually an indication of being fertile. I think you ovulated late! And your temps go up when you're upduffed and down when AF is coming. X

Purple that's good progress you got the more detailed SA analysis, and overall it's a pretty positive one too I think! I've not had any experience of ICSI, what is it? At least now you're being monitored so keeping everything crossed the next few steps will be quick!!
I am right in the middle of the tww so trying VERY hard not to obsess.. so far I have got very sore nipples, bigger/fermer boobs, sore hips and constant mild cramps in ovaries area. But who's symptom spotting. If I get a bfn next week that means my body is now doing some very weird stuff for no reason... But by the looks of it that seems to be the new rules of the post pill era!

I've never temped but might start to as I've been off the pill for 10 months now and not getting very far.
I have moments where I'm quite chilled about it but during fw/waiting for ovulation, I go a bit crazy. I have ewcm quite frequently throughout my cycles 😐 I think it means when you are about to ovulate so before ovulation but who knows. I think I'm going to ask for some blood tests in the new year if no success because I'm not even sure I ovulate. Oh dear can't you tell I'm going back to work tomorrow after a week off 🙇‍♀️
