footy when's your next GP appointment? Sounds like you need some advice, is the clomid doing what it should be?

kate if I were you I'd also go and speak to my GP about irregular cycles. I'm not sure what they can do but it might be worth getting their advice.

Been using it a couple of days and now a big fan of preseed, gets things going much more quickly!

Cd20 Star possibly 11dpoStar?

Kate-It's difficult to know what to do as I'm in the same boat. We started on cd4 and still think I'm waiting to ovulate so my DH is worn out! Would it help to start later (go by the day before the earliest ovulation date you have had)? Are u particularly stressed that could delay it?
Maybe ask gp?

Jem- next gynae appt is in Nov!! Nurse at the gp surgery says if def not ovulated I can start another cycle of clomid without AF. But I need to be certain I am not pregnant. So my plan is to wait for few days ( to either get AF or get ovulation.) I had that positive opk yesterday and cramps, temp dipped again today low so if nothing happens in a few days then I'll start another cycle.

Tee- my ff chart took away my coverline and ovulation line as it says the temps suggest I didn't ovulate. Grrr.. Few more days to wait. I have zero symptoms apart from that positive opk yesterday and cramps. Will do another opk today.

Yes I like the preseed too Jem!Wink

physicskate · 25/09/2016 11:04

Oh Footy!! I don't see an obvious ov there either... I feel like I'm left in limbo. I haven't been to my GP before (moved last Christmas), just to register, but I hear that they are not the most 'supportive' surgery. So I bet I would get a ' you're wasting our time, come back after you've been trying for a year.' Or at least, with every problem I've been to a British GP about, that's how I always end up feeling!

Foot, remind me, didn't you stop bc in the spring? I hate that this is just such an unclear thing and that there are no real answers (it goes against my scientific nature). I also don't get why my boobs have been aching after ov for the last three months (and never ever before).

I just feel gutted, like I've had the wind knocked out. For me, for the three of you! Not that I was hopeful about this month.

Footy1 · 25/09/2016 11:25

Kate, has AF started yet for you? You might still be pregnant!!?
I stopped bc in Feb, but took til April to get an AF. So really only started ttc properly in April. I think i messed up.. I drank on the clomid at start of cycle and forgot to take it one day until really late so now looking back I don't think it made it work properly. Before I ovulated very early on it and blood test confirmed it so I know it worked first and second time. Third time I didn't take it, and now I think I messed up! Can only keep on with it..

Maybe you could over exaggerate how long you have been trying!!? Are u in London? I can't remember? Maybe tell them that you don't think you are ovulating and that this whole year your periods are not regular. This might prompt them to do blood tests of hormones and prescribe something to help ovulation sooner?

Tee4me · 25/09/2016 11:47

Kate, just tell them it's been a year, how would they know?? That's what I'll be saying tomorrow, it's actually only been 9 months but the weird periods I've been having are making me nervous. If nothing else perhaps it will make us relax knowing something's being done? Go for it!

Tee4me · 25/09/2016 11:49

So confusing Footy! What exactly does Clomid do again? Is it to prompt ovulation?

Tee4me · 25/09/2016 11:50

Busy few days for you I'm guessing Jem? Hubby all home and ready for a sexathon?! Did you do your first opk of the cycle yet?

physicskate · 25/09/2016 11:54

Tee, I might try to book an appointment this week (not sure how long it will take to get an appointment). I might exaggerate how long we've been trying, but I get my copper coil out last November (and there is surely a record of that). Started ttc officially April 1st.

I know it is also just AF coming that has be down (I tend to get quite sad because of the hormones, not just when ttc). Cramps are pretty bad today so it is coming...

Maybe it's all the vits I've been taking?? I was regular as clock work on the coil!

Oh and I am between Leeds and York.

Tee4me · 25/09/2016 11:54

Nothing going on here. Haven't touched the thermometer again. Hoping my Doctor is sympathetic tomorrow, I've been waiting a long time for this appointment. My bizarre rash came back (the one that I thought was an allergic reaction to pineapple), so I'm going to float the idea that I could be allergic to something going on during my cycle? Other theory is kiwi, as I had one of those for the first time in a while last weekend. Let's hope it's the latter! My big sister was allergic to pregnancy and her body ended up rejecting 5 pregnancies! I'm hoping won't be the same for me, had a blissful first pregnancy with DS, but I know the body can change x

LondonJem · 25/09/2016 12:01

I agree with footy and tee - if your periods are irregular I'd get some advice. If you're not ovulating then there's no point the GP saying just keeping trying. You are still not out this month though so see what happens. kate could it also be stress? I hate it when people tell me to relax, but intense periods of stress can mess up your cycle. What are you doing for relaxation?

foot I exaggerated a bit. We started ttc in January. In July I went to GP and said we had been trying 9 months. So as far as they are concerned we hit 12 months in November. I will be going back if I am still without bfp!

tee I started OPK yesterday, very faint line. DH was happily welcomed home with a shag. Preseed is good! Should be ovulating Thursday - he has that trip leaving Tuesday getting back Thursday, which means we would have to miss DTD Wednesday. Not ideal. Will see how this week goes... I very much hope you are not allergic to pregnancy.

Mim, busta, Russ how are you all?

OP posts:
Footy1 · 25/09/2016 15:46

Tee- hope your appt goes well. Yes the clomid is suppose to help you ovulate for those who don't ovulate and helps produce lots of big and good follicles to those who already ovulate. It tricks your body into thinking estrogen is not released making it release more. (Basically tricks your hormones)
My fault I think, as I was drinking that week I took it and after reading about it online loads people say not to drink as it can stop it working properly. Also u need to take it same time each day or night so it builds up.

Footy1 · 25/09/2016 15:50

Jem- don't think it hurts telling a few little porkie pies to get things moving along.
I exaggerated my case and told them it was longer than I had been trying even though the time would have been still on the pill!! Lol they obviously didn't check!

If clomid doesn't work then I'm a bit in the dark what to do. Not entitled to anything else with having kids already.

Tee- don't think you are allergic to pregnancy.. It will happen hon X

Kate- maybe drop the vitamins for a cycle? U never know. X

physicskate · 25/09/2016 16:42

Back to square one again! Cd 1, which gave me a 12 day lp... hmmm.

Previous cycles were: 35, 30, 36, 34, 33, 37, 28, 32, 30, 37. That's since Oct last year... so looks like a 12 cycle year.

Feel better for it starting though. Sorry for being a doom-monger this morning!!!

Footy1 · 25/09/2016 19:22

Kate, any chance u ovulated slightly earlier this cycle?

LondonJem · 25/09/2016 19:53

Ahh Kate that is a bit of a mind field, I would take those numbers to my GP and say what's going on please? As long as you are ovulating you can still get pregnant though xx

OP posts:
Footy1 · 25/09/2016 19:54

Sorry KateFlowers** hope u feel better tomorrow. Def see your gp and be strong with them, hopefully they can help.

Opk was positive again for me?! Really hoping temp will lift tomorrow if not?!?? Not sure

physicskate · 25/09/2016 20:34

Don't think so Foot - had a slight rise earlier which would have meant an 18 day lp? But no positive opk then... so I think it was only 12 instead of the 'usual' 14 day lp.

Oh foot I hate this!!! I kinda think it's all too much for me to bear...

Tee4me · 25/09/2016 20:55

You're right girls, it's bloody horrible. So sorry Kate, I hope you have better luck this cycle, sounds like you've got to a stage where you need some GP support.
I'm at the end of my tether with it too. Footy what happened when you first went to your GP about TTC struggles? Did they offer a blood test in first instance? Does it have to be on a particular CD?

Footy1 · 25/09/2016 22:41

Sorry Kate** hope u feel better tomorrow. Def see your gp and be strong with them, hopefully they can help.

Opk was positive again for me?! Really hoping temp will lift tomorrow if not?!?? Not sure.

Tee- yes when I went to gp they offered me blood tests to see what the hormones were saying. I did say to gp that I'd been trying for year and that I hadn't had had AF since coming off pill. So had bloods done between day 2-5 for estrogen /fsh/LH and then another test at day 21 for progesterone, testosterone and prolactin. Only because my fsh came back high that they referred me to gynaecologist. They initially thought I'd gone into menopause so wanted me to start hrt. Just shows u how u can't just go on one test result. Gynae repeated tests twice more which were totally normal. Must have been the bc pills that were still sending ovaries asleep. Oh and the gp also arranged ultrasound to check for polyps, tumours, cysts and an abnormalities.

If gp doesn't insist on these tests maybe u could suggest at least the bloods. Say that it's made u really stressed out and you need to know.. They only referred to a gynae for me as they first thought menopause so not sure how serious they would take it without that. Suppose u could say you are worried u are in menopause ? Might make them push for tests. Make it up. I'm sure u are not btw!! Just I know certain words make them test.

LondonJem · 25/09/2016 22:42

When I went tee she ordered bloods on day 2-5 of my cycle. Think the next step is to get bloods on day 21. I'm not sure what comes next - I think physical investigations, scans?

Hugs girls it's so bloody hard all we want is to get pregnant FlowersFlowersFlowers

OP posts:
Tee4me · 25/09/2016 23:08

I'll be CD21 tomorrow, so I'm kinda hoping I can have my first blood test immediately?! We'll see. I'll definitely insist as much as I can about having bloods and a scan. I will emphasise about the clots I'm getting, and my worry about an obstruction (fibroids etc... I have a family history of those), so that'll be good grounds for a scan referral. But also about this rash and my concern of an adverse reaction within my cycle, I'd be amazed if she fobbed me off. She was the one who said she wanted to see me in a few months if the clots hadn't calmed down, so clearly warrants investigation given she suggested I return.
I'll let you know how I get on x

Footy1 · 26/09/2016 07:26

Hope goes well tee.

Stubborn temp still low. Grrr.. I'm so annoyed.. Everytime I get a good pattern of dtd nothing happens.
Going to try IC just to check, but going to start the clomid again today. Stressful enough without not ovulating!!

Mimilicious013 · 26/09/2016 07:58

Hope all goes well for you tee
