Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We've got a few grads sticking around I won't leave and no question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

Good news on you dh londonjem i am terrified to get the results back from mine . I thibk sperm count and mobility is the important ones ?

LondonJem · 21/09/2016 15:03

Count definitely important and motility. Morphology seems a bit of a grey area. His count was something like 100m and the lab person looks in detail at a sample of 100 to assess the shape. Doesn't really seem representative to me!

Also DH read online that a private clinic said low morphology = you have a problem please come back, and they took it to the GP and they said errrrrrrr you're fine?

When is your DH's test?

LondonJem · 21/09/2016 15:05

Hep it really is Hmm just when I had got my head around the female reproductive system...

HepKestrel · 21/09/2016 15:33

Jem when you get your booking appointment, you get a book including a whole page translating all the acronyms you come across !

the language for pregnancy is equally confusing.

Nicky883 · 21/09/2016 17:04

Havent booked yet will book when if af comes !

geeup · 21/09/2016 17:51

London - we had poor morphology (1-3% over 3 samples of 7m-50m). We went to see the UKs leading urologist Dr Ramsay on Harley St and he said the most important thing is to calculate how many good sperms you have in each ejaculation. 1% is less of a problem if he's firing 100m swimmers than 4% if he's only firing 10m if that makes sense? Despite having only 1% of 6.9m swimmers for one sample Ramsay still suggested we try naturally for another 6 months albeit that was more than 6 mths ago and he's a massive expert so don't panic like we did. I cried for weeks but actually miracles definitely happen although not to me yet. Loose boxers, Proxeed twice a day (better than all the other male supplements) and no hot baths/laptop on his nuts is best advice.

This is my plan...

  1. Get pregnant with twins, preferably boy and girl, before Christmas. Then I'm done!

I only say this as I had ovulation pain both sides this month, it was tingly and weird and made me laugh inappropriately whilst I was watching the TV report of the New York bombings. Like when you get dead arm.

Hope everyone has had a nice day !

geeup · 21/09/2016 18:08

God yes sk1pper - twins are the dream.

LondonJem · 21/09/2016 18:13

geeup thanks so much for that - that's incredibly reassuring. He had 2% morphology and over 100million count - so it sounds like that's good overall. Out of interest was the Harley st doctor very expensive?

WingingIt83 · 21/09/2016 18:14

Well I'm on cd15, day 5 of 'high ' fertility on clearblue no peak yet and still no positive on cheapy opk either (although only used those today and yesterday).

Feel like I have less cm than usual -and no ewcm to speak of yet despite starting epo and agnus castus this month. WTF is going on!

LondonJem · 21/09/2016 18:14

Is this proxeed? Blimey quite a price tag!!

Mooseville · 21/09/2016 21:27

Wow - that was a lot to catch up on! Work been crazy this week, done 26 hours overtime already and it's only Wednesday evening!!! Aargh - so tired!!

kwick sorry about AF. I'm awaiting her arrival here too. Still symptomless here and due anytime now.

I'm too tired to comment any further tonight, will catch up more tomorrow!

geeup · 21/09/2016 21:40

Kwick - so sorry that troll AF showed up. Wine choc and Netflix/Xbox for you.
London - yes that's Proxeed. It is cripplingly expensive esp as you take 2 sachets a day but Dr Ramsay had clinical studies showing it worked. We did Fertilaid as well as Pycnogenol, vit c etc for 6 months with no noticeable difference so hoping this does the trick. You need 3 mths for spermies to renew so good to wait that long before you do another test to see if it's "worked".
Ramsay cost about £200 for an appointment I think which is roughly the same as other fertility docs although I think we paid another £800 or so for extensive tests for OH (stds, blood work, antibodies etc) which you might not have to do. Money well spent for proper advice we thought - well it took pressure off OH who was panicking and blaming himself massively.

purpleladybird · 21/09/2016 21:49

So sorry kwick. I've been following your story and had LSFX for you in droves.

I didn't watch the fertility programme last night. I did wonder if she would announce a pregnancy. I don't think I want to watch really, I can't see I have much to gain from knowing 'it is hard to conceive, but people do'.

I want OH to watch the BBC Human Body with Robert Winston called 'Everyday Miracle'. If you've not seen it I recommend it. Hideously dated (the baby they followed will be at uni now!!) but really interesting and confirms what we all know: 'have sex, and have it often'.

It's not on YouTube, you need to google it.

HepKestrel · 22/09/2016 08:30

really sorry kwick

if you do have hives, your body is telling you you are stressed. take it easy - from someone who skipped two AFs due to stress.

Thanks so much for the info geeup DH is considering the proxeed. He's got his GP appointment in a week or so, so we will see what they say too.

Interesting hearing all this talk of IVF on the news this morning. They were interviewing a woman about her experience of it - quite refreshing to hear someone talking honestly about how it feels to try and not succeed. I find it very hard to accept that the number of cycles of IVF offered on the NHS is such a lottery. Really hope my uterus wakes up and we don't have to go down this route.

AliceScarlett · 22/09/2016 08:59

Cycle 11, right on time, fully expected.
