Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We've got a few grads sticking around I won't leave and no question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

What's everyone been up to today?

I went out in the garden after lunch to "quickly" sort my strawberry patch out. It's now quarter past 4...
But at least it is thinned out ready for Autumn/winter. Hoping for even more fruit next year.

AliceScarlett · 18/09/2016 16:30

Kwick Really feel for you, what horrid luck. Flowers I think you have a wonderful attitude, I think I'm angrier for you than you are.
Can you buy magic potion in bulk and get it up there when you're oving?

A friend of mine is pregnant and has gifted me about 1000 cheap opks and 2 clear blue fertility monitors! Looks like I'll be pissing on lots of sticks in cycle 11. How does the cbfm work in the day, surely I don't need to take it to work to poas in the afternoon? Confused

So sorry Kwick that seems so unfair SadFlowersCakeWine

Mooseville · 18/09/2016 18:51

Thinking of you kwick We're all here for a hand hold of you need us.

I've had a busy weekend! Had a lovely day out to the seaside yesterday with DP and then today I've baked cakes and biscuits to take into work and then Shepherds Pie for our tea today! Has been nice and relaxing though - has kept my mind (mostly) off the TWW.

6dpo here - no sign of any symptoms. Although it would prob be too early for any anyway!

kwick · 18/09/2016 19:32

alice Grin I buy magic potion in bulk and then get a Dr to shove it up there!

We went to the allotment today - loads of courgettes, tomatoes, chard and runner beans.

My skin is not happy - have just found a large patch of dry skin on upper tummy, have itchy patches on my legs and one of my hands, have 2 mega spot areas on my face and have just found a spot on my back... Wondering if me using a heck of a lot of rose bath soak last night has caused an allergic reaction but then most of this predates that.

Xfactor Boot Camp is at Ally Pally - that's near me!!!

Fanks for all the kind thoughts Smile

HepKestrel · 18/09/2016 20:11

Hi all,
kwick I am so sorry for you. What is your equivalent dpo? Flowers. TTC is not fair at all.

Had a lovely day out in York, where nice tea from Betty's was purchased Smile. We got home, and have just had roast beef with Yorkshire pudding.

Am feeling so much better. Have practically finished bleeding, with only occasional mild cramps. Energy levels also much better!

Nurse told me the official advice of no TTC until AF, but consultant said no DTD for 2 weeks and no TTC for 4-6 weeks. So I think I'll follow the consultants advice. Tbh I miss DTDBlush! Though not quite feeling up to it just yet.

My priorities are get back to designing new kitchen, catch up on work, and get fit!

jellyella · 18/09/2016 21:38

Hi everyone,

Glad you had a good day Hep, Betty's does a proper tea. And Flowers to you kwick, that really is shitty news.

I'm still technically on the bus right now but AF due tomorrow or Tues. I got a BFN on Friday morning from a First Response test - the next step in my fertility treatment is a HSG test which has to be timed quite precisely, so I did an early POAS before the weekend in the hope that the hospital would let me confirm an appt date. But it was a bit pointless anyway as they haven't any appointments within the window, so I'll have to wait till next cycle anyway Sad assuming I'm not upduffed already, which I don't think I am.

Spent the day at a toddler's birthday party. Not too much baby overload thank goodness, and I reconciled myself to eating a baby's weight in cake instead Smile

Damson9 · 18/09/2016 22:09

Jelly, you can have your HSG at any point (well, aside from when you're actually bleeding) as long as you can ensure you're not pregnant. I had one in July in the last week of my cycle.

From when they had appointments, it looked like I could have been waiting months to have it sync up, so we took a month off TTC in order for me to have it. We'd been trying for so long, we just wanted it done, so it's worth investigating if you're willing to sacrifice a month for answers. Xx

jellyella · 19/09/2016 07:40

Thanks Damson, that's really helpful as I was wondering if that was an option. I'm away with work for most of my fertile period (including Ov) this coming cycle so was assuming it'd be a bit of a non-month in TTC terms. So it might make sense to actively not TTC and get the HSG done too. Thanks for mentioning it.

jellyella · 19/09/2016 07:41

PS - hope it was useful for you damson. I've heard mixed reports about how much it hurts, but I guess like us all if there's a chance of it helping, we'll take it Smile

LondonJem · 19/09/2016 08:14

Damson9 · 19/09/2016 09:58

Jelly, ours came back totally clear, which was a relief on one hand and frustrating on the other as it still left us clueless as to why we weren't getting pregnant.

On the plus side, though, there is sketchy evidence that you have increased fertility in the few months following an HSG (LondonJem, it's where they inject dye into your uterus and watch it in a live-action X-ray to see if there are any blockages in your tubes. Can be quite painful, but isn't always) as it's said to flush your tubes out. We got pregnant the month after :)

Musicgrrl · 19/09/2016 10:06

My best friend at work has just confided in me that she is 7 weeks pregnant. So so happy for her but also Envy!

I also think I spied a record number of pregnant ladies on my commute this morning. Is it the time of year?!

Nicky883 · 19/09/2016 10:15

I will be getting an hsg test done too after dh has his sperm analysis done. I know two people that got pregnant after having the hsg after years of trying ( assuming of course that the hsg shows no blockage )

LondonJem · 19/09/2016 11:54

Damson how do they inject it into your uterus?! Straight through your tummy? Up the foof?

Damson9 · 19/09/2016 12:55

Up the foof, I'm afraid. The usual speculum and then the addition of something to hold your cervix open and then, IIRC, some kind of balloon to hold things open or allow them to squirt in the right place. I forget exactly what it was for... And because it's an X-ray, the room is relatively big in comparison with your usual examination room - I felt quite exposed! No pun intended :)

Mine didn't hurt too much; I've had more painful examinations/smears. But I was on some great painkillers for a slipped shoulder that week (how fortunate we were having the month off TTC or I wouldn't have been able to have them!). I bled a bit afterwards and was a bit crampy, but nothing major.

It didn't take too long. I got a peek at the screen while it was happening, which was kind of exciting, and then I had a follow-up a few days later in which the consultant walked me through the video and then cut me loose - it was the last test the NHS were offering me so we were sent off to carry on trying and wait.

Damson9 · 19/09/2016 13:04

On reflection, maybe the balloon is to stop the dye falling out of you...

WingingIt83 · 19/09/2016 13:20

hep put me down for 7th Oct, although I'm sure AF will have appeared before then.

What's the general order of tests they will do once you've gone to a GP to raise fertility concerns?

LondonJem · 19/09/2016 13:59

Thanks for the clear explanation damson! I'd rather they went up the foof than a big injection through skin. I don't find smear tests toooooo bad generally. Saying that I haven't got one of these planned! Back to the GP for me early November.

The first test I had was a blood test on days 2-5 of my cycle. After that I think it's bloods on day 21 and then I don't know from there.

AliceScarlett · 19/09/2016 17:15

I feel like the majority of us are having /starting tests, who would have thought it would be so difficult.

I'm awaiting AF, feel really nauseous, still practising my cynical laugh.

Do you guys take opks to work with you?

OP posts:
WingingIt83 · 19/09/2016 17:34

alice yes i do as i'm now testing with fmu and then at lunch time as on 'flashy smiley' stage with clearblue dual

AliceScarlett · 19/09/2016 17:48

Hmm, I don't know how to transport my cbfm to the loo Confused

I'm reading infertility success stories. 3 days before AF is my worst time.

Hi all. I'm a long time lurker and wanted to say hi. Hep - I'm so sorry for what you're going through. Kwick - very best of luck. Waves shyly to everyone else.
Mainly I don't post as I have nothing to update. Been trying for about 14 or 15 mths, 18 cycles I think. Tried all the usual - a LOT of DTD, only DTD every 3rd day, supplements, organic eating, pineapple, milk etc - along with lap and dye with hysteroscopy. We have mild MFI. Nothing's worked. I'm waiting on my next NHS appt.
I suppose I wanted to come out of hiding to ask a question if that's ok?
Despite well over a year of actively TTC including OPKing, I'm still not sure why we need to know what time we get the LH surge. Those of you who OPK with FMU and again at 2pm and again at 6pm and before bed what does it tell you? Is it so you don't miss a surge?
We are trying to DTD every 2-3 days to save up some swimmers but we DTD yesterday morning and then I got the surge in the afternoon about 4pm. We tried to DTD this morning before work but my OH couldn't finish. OPK was still positive this morning. Did we miss ovulation?
Sorry to butt in.

geeup · 19/09/2016 18:07

Ps FF says I have/will ovulate today and test day is 2nd October for me.
