Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We've got a few grads sticking around I won't leave and no question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

What do Brazil nuts do hep?

After my religious walnut eating last cycle did nothing to improve my luteal phase I've sacked them off this month as they were so horrid but didn't even think about dipping them in chocolate!

I'm on cd11 and have flashy smiley on my cb dual today which is the first time I've had a flashy one. Been taking Epo and agnus castus twice a day since cd2 so I'll be interested to see what it does to my cycles.

HepKestrel · 17/09/2016 21:51

Selenium. Good for swimmers.

kwick · 18/09/2016 09:09

How are you feeling hep?

I had another BFN in the early hours. What a frickerty fcuk.

bluebird3 · 18/09/2016 09:18

So so sorry kwick. It soooo unfair.

Hope you're feeling a bit better today hep.

I'm so sorry kwick Sad That's awfully unfair FlowersFlowersFlowers I hope you are able to do another round of IVF. You deserve to be a mummy xx

Musicgrrl · 18/09/2016 09:48

Really sorry kwick Flowers

Damson9 · 18/09/2016 09:50

You're still not out until a bleed, Qwick. Keeping all my fingers crossed xxx Smile

My LP was about 13 days, yet I didn't get a positive until 16 DPO. Not everyone sees it early. I'd been POAS for so many days by that point, I was just about to give up! I peed on it and left it on the side while I went to brush my hair and get ready for the shower (I had religiously watched every precious one develop - for 17 months!), so sure was I that I was out, and when I came back into the bathroom, there it was!

Damson9 · 18/09/2016 09:51

Precious? Previous! What a Freudian slip!

sk1pper · 18/09/2016 10:00

Sorry about your IVF kwick :( what an absolute pain. Did you have to pay for the second round?

DogMadDaisy · 18/09/2016 10:03

hang in there kwick - there is still the chance of a BFP. i'm keeping my fingers crossed for you

LondonJem · 18/09/2016 10:42

Hoping there's still time for it to come kwick

Musicgrrl · 18/09/2016 11:20

Can I get advice from any OPK users? Because of my erratic ovulation I use loads of these. Currently using dip sticks from Boots but have noticed you can get ones on the internet for so much less. Does anyone have any experience of these? Any recommendations?

sk1pper · 18/09/2016 11:35

I'm using them music, always get good readings on them. In fact Ovia just informed me of a change in my fertility window this morning. Did an OPK just now and got a near positive, probably will be darker this avo.

Musicgrrl, I used internet cheapies the whole time through - I would buy them by the 40-50 on eBay and it would be something like a fiver with free postage. Most of the sellers will also do a hidden feedback thing so it doesn't show up as a purchase on your eBay account if you're keeping it low key.

Similar thing with pregnancy tests. We only bought a digital one after I'd been through I don't know how many cheapies!

I'd certainly recommend using them over more expensive ones. I know it's a drop in the ocean compared with raising a child, but every little helps! :)

kwick · 18/09/2016 12:04

Thanks ladies.
Damson bit different for me I am afraid - AF is always delayed due to progesterone I take. Now I have stopped that AF will show up in a day or two.
I have done 5 IUIs and 2 IVFs and the only thing keeping me going is 1. hope (have always been hopeful) and 2. IVF #1 worked but sadly ended in MC
I pay for everything - this last round was about 5k, previous one about 12k. This is important for me and I am lucky I have been able to get the funds together.

music I found the Boots opks to be unreliable, one step internet cheapies are fine - I did a double check with clearblue.

sk1pper · 18/09/2016 12:15

Kwick - so sorry about your first IVF, that doesn't seem fair at all :( but you're right, the fact that you managed to conceive with the first round is extremely promising. Just unlucky this time but if you can afford it, don't give up xx

Damson9 · 18/09/2016 12:28

Aw, Kwick, I am sorry. It sounds like you're having a time of it. :( FlowersFlowers

Would you be able to donate eggs in exchange for a cycle? I was looking into doing that. I'd also started looking at going abroad for treatment - the Czech Republic seems to have the best reputation in Europe at the minute - could that be a possibility? A nice holiday in Prague and good-quality IVF (in fact, I think they only use ICSI there) at a fraction of the price...

LondonJem · 18/09/2016 12:33

music I only use Internet cheapies, get them off amazon, find them perfectly reliable. Been trying 9 months so it's cheap OPK and PG tests all the way!

kwick · 18/09/2016 12:34

I am too old to donate eggs. I did think about going abroad but it is just too complicated to try and fit that in with my job - where I travel 75% of the time. I am good to carry on for now but may do an IUI again just to give my body a bit of a break.
Having said that I really think it is time I got a less stressful job with lots less travel.

Nicky883 · 18/09/2016 13:50

Sorry kwick Flowers

purpleladybird · 18/09/2016 14:18

So sorry Kwick I really feel for you Flowers

Musicgrrl · 18/09/2016 14:22

That's really helpful, thanks guys. I'm going to do an order now. I've had 3 days worth of medium dark test lines on my OPKs but I can't seem to quite tempt them to get any darker! Looking forward to the luxury of taking two per day...

LondonJem · 18/09/2016 14:43

There's a women MN username Russkispy on the square one thread who goes to Riga for IVF kwick and seems to know a lot about it. Could be worth having a chat with her if you wanted to find out about doing it overseas. Stay positive Flowers

kwick · 18/09/2016 14:59

Thanks jem I have threaded with Russkispy on another thread (am a bit of an an MN junkie). No current plans to go abroad.

AlexiaB · 18/09/2016 15:20

Music I get mine from Amazon too. I recently got a pack of 90 one-step opks and 50 hpts delivered for £14 which is a bargain imo.
