Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We've got a few grads sticking around I won't leave and no question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

No i'm not going to work ! just 5min walk to shops.

AliceScarlett · 13/09/2016 19:36

So many board games recommendations, love how lots of us are into them. Twilight Struggle has been on the games shelf for over two years... Just can't bring ourselves to face it.

Alexia I used to watch pregnancy announcements on YouTube, now I could not. No way. Not weird.

Jem Sad is AF early?

Kwick I came over to JS'ing last week for a reason Wink Don't. Trust. The. Boobs.

Hep excellent plan.

Another one here who's DH doesn't really understand. He's so practical, just says "well, I'll worry when it gets to a year" How?!

Mooseville · 13/09/2016 19:59

kav Thanks for the recommendation - we already have 221b Baker St though which sounds very similar. Also a bit of a busmans holiday for me! Wink

I've took a list and going to look at all the different ones and pick one to get hopefully in time for the weekend!

kwick don't trust the boobs!!

Just practically had an argument with DP who wants to buy an estate car to put the pram in! I mean, I'm pleased he's getting more enthusiastic but nothing like a bit of extra pressure for this month! Had to calmly remind him not to get his hopes up, whilst simultaneously getting mine up!!

sk1pper · 13/09/2016 20:12

ah lol

HepKestrel · 13/09/2016 20:16

moose we also will need to buy a new car soon, as it has 230k+ miles !
after our first scan, we agreed on an estate, and even a short list of cars we would be interested test driving. tbh, we will still get one when the old car dies. Its not a question of buying things for a baby. It is buying things that would be useful for the future.

I gave OH strict instructions that after our 6w scan he could start investigating cars+ other items, but on no account were we test driving or spending a penny until several months in. He is now just focused on saving the money for it, knowing now that we have more time.

equally, I want a day bed for the second bedroom and I will ensure it is one which is suitable whether or not it becomes the nursery.... or just my escape room when OH hogs the tv+xbox downstairs !

AlexiaB · 13/09/2016 20:28

Alice that's reassuring, it felt very weird.

Kwick definitely don't trust the boobs! Can't wait to see your BFPGrin

Ahhh car chat... we switched from a coupé to a brand new Audi Q5 in early 2015. It kills me every time I drive it that I don't have a baby in the back seat of my. Okay, we use it for the business too but it's still hurtsSad I would recommend avoiding it until later unless it's unavoidable.

AlexiaB · 13/09/2016 20:30

of it*

bluebird3 · 13/09/2016 20:54

I also bought a 'family car' 2 years ago expecting to be needing it soon. Ha!

I'm getting really bitter about facebook posts by friends that bitch about how hard it is being a mum or how irritating/annoying/difficult their kids are. These are usually meant to be comical but to me, their just cruel. I know it's unfair because being a mum is difficult but it's hard to feel sorry for people who don't know how lucky they are to get pregnant and have the privilege of raising their children just because they decided to.

marmitecheesetoast · 13/09/2016 20:58

Ooh loving all these board game suggestions, I'm scribbling them all down and considering some Amazon purchases tonight too! I've played Pandemic and Carcassone with friends before, but me and DH haven't bought ourselves a new board game for ages.
Loving the sound of Twilight Struggle Skipper me and DH are massive history geeks so think that's going to be a definite purchase!

Aside from board games, I hope you're all doing ok. Hep you sound like you are doing so amazingly well, you are one strong lady.Star and I'm glad the cat is chumming you.

Sorry for all those who the witch got or who think the witch is imminent SadFlowers

Sounds like everyone deserves WineCakeBrewChocolate

miwelaisjacydo · 13/09/2016 21:07

Hi hope everyone is ok have been manic in work so not had nance to catch up. How is everyone today?

I am in bed shattered am so busy are the moment.

Have terrible thrush at the moment after kidney infection think am out this month. As we hardly DTD due to DH being ill then me.

HepKestrel · 13/09/2016 21:14

miw oh no ! you are not getting a break this cycle FlowersFlowersCakeBrew

kwick · 13/09/2016 21:21

Ok ok ladies I hear you - I will not trust the boobs Grin

No car here, no second bedroom either!!! I am playing on the Field of Dreams "build it and they will come" philosophy: get upduffed and all will sort itself 😜

miw sorry about thrush - causes such agony. Plenty of yoghurt for you!

I need to go to bed soon as I need to be up at fricking 4am 😁 But I am only just winding down from work...

Tell me more about the preggers announcements on You Tube... I really only use You Tube to watch beauty channels, some US shows and blackhead popping (sooooooo relaxing!!!) oh yes amd some times fertility meditation.

kwick · 13/09/2016 21:29

BTW alice I say go for the scan - it will give you information and hopefully peace of mind.

AliceScarlett · 13/09/2016 21:35

The announcements are mostly very American and cheesy, but they also bring a tear to my eye occasionally Confused

I would like to have those scans but I can't afford to mission it to London for days on end. I wonder how much ultrasound scanners cost...

OP posts:
AliceScarlett · 13/09/2016 21:38

So everything is available on ebay, from China.

Would be cheaper than getting those scans done which are like £120 a session, wtf. But how can you learn what to look for when you are using it?

kwick · 13/09/2016 22:07

Please do not get your own scanner!!!
A) for the investigatory scans you need an up the fanjo ones not the ones that go over the skin
B) you need to be properly trained to understand images
C) you will probably scannjng eay to often... We do not really know all the risks associated with scans

If you still want to go ahead, tell me what is your reading on this?

Thread 18 TTC#1 We have cats, courgettes AND cake
kwick · 13/09/2016 22:09

alice is there no where local you can get a scan?

Si1ver · 13/09/2016 22:22

Yeah, I'm with Kwick getting your own scan is madness. There's a reason people are extensively trained to use them.

Although after an appalling day at work where a colleague "joked" that I was menopausal because I was too hot in a meeting, the certainty of ovulating is awfully tempting. .......

AliceScarlett · 13/09/2016 22:42

Nah I'm only joking! I'm not that bothered... Or rich.

OP posts:
AlexiaB · 13/09/2016 22:56

Alice a much cheaper option would be charting BBT. If you see a clear, sustained temp shift it's highly likely you're O'ing.

Bluebird ugh, that's exactly why I try to FacebookAngry

AlexiaB · 13/09/2016 23:09

Obviously meant try to avoid*. I can't even type tonightBlush Goodnight xx

purpleladybird · 14/09/2016 07:58

Moose my OH saw a cheap cot when we were out shopping once and wanted to buy it 'for when we have a baby'. He didn't seem to get why I was so utterly against the idea, he just wanted the bargain.

Needless to say we didn't get it.

HepKestrel · 14/09/2016 08:14

The only baby photos I like on Facebook are from a friend who is 40 and has recently had the most beautiful daughter after 7 years and 4 ivfs, and from friends I went to school with.... I.e. same age as me! If they are still popping sprogs out....

Grumpyoldcat managed a sneak attack on the fridge this morning ( after finishing his breakfast). Guess i'll be having an egg sandwich today and not the last of the roast chicken... Hmm

Not sure if its just hunger, but feeling very achey around my lower tummy and hips....

Ffs, if I am gonna have main event before the surgery on Friday, can it just get on with it? Fucking stubborn dead bean.

LondonJem · 14/09/2016 08:41

Kwick in my expert opinion that is a man with a moustache-beard wearing an eye mask 🤔

Still spotting Envy feeling more crampy today so think AF must be imminent. I hate this new "ooh I'm going to spot first and wind you up because now you don't symptom spot as much so it's not as much fun when I come and break your heart into a million pieces" Envy
