Can't believe we've filled that thread, hope you all find this one!

Ali - so uncomfortable isn't it?! But I like that I can feel it happening, gives me a bit of warning at least. Yeah, I'm expecting I'll ov Thursday/Friday now which would work out much better than Saturday so fingers crossed.

I had it in the build up to Af and before bfp last month. My ewcm looks a bit yellowish against white too, I presume it's normal!

How's everyone getting on? Any signs either way for you ALI? When is af due?

OP posts:
Alibaba2 · 06/10/2016 12:23

Spotting today, gutted.

AF due Sunday

thatsnotmybear · 06/10/2016 12:46

Sorry Ali Sad

4dpo here and absolutely nothing to report. AF isn't due until next Sunday when helpfully, we go away for a week on a beach holiday. Grrr.

jinglebellmel · 06/10/2016 14:59

Sorry Ali :( it's so unfair. How long did you take to conceive before the mc? X

Hopefully no af for you then bear! I'm 5 dpo nothing to report here either, it's really dragging!

OP posts:
Alibaba2 · 06/10/2016 16:25

It happened by accident and was a complete shock - typical!

We did try for 9 months last year but waited for ov pains before starting dtd - d'oh!

Thanks for not getting my hopes up, I know deep down what it is so no point kidding myself Sad

Alibaba2 · 06/10/2016 16:41

Is there anything I can do about spotting?

thatsnotmybear · 06/10/2016 17:28

Is the spotting a new thing (i.e. since your mc)?

I have spotting for days after AF finishes and find that really annoying. Actual flow only lasts 3 days then I have at least 5 more days of spotting, almost right up until fw. My acu'ist thought that acu may help but it hasn't so far.

If the spotting is immediately pre- or post- AF then I think it's normal. Or maybe you could have a hormone MOT like Mel? I'm considering it.

Alibaba2 · 06/10/2016 17:45

When we were trying last year, I used to get spotting 2 days before. I took some supplements and it seemed to go.

Last month I had it at 10dpo (but it was jelly like), this time 11dpo.

My period is only a decent flow for 2 days then it goes light. I have had periods which spot for ages but only after MC.

I'm not sure the GP would offer any tests at my age.

Alibaba2 · 06/10/2016 17:56

Looking on the bright side, no PMS yet! I'm expecting to get that tomorrow. Last month it was more depression than rage.

jinglebellmel · 06/10/2016 19:03

Ali I had spotting before and after the mc and it just resolved itself after a few cycles, maybe yours will too and is just taking a little longer? It might be worth speaking to your gp, I'm not sure what the guidelines are on what they will won't do at what age but I'd hope they'd at least do the basic hormone blood tests for you. worth a try, I didn't think mine would be any help but he surprised me. Is it rude to ask your age?

Are you thinking of asking for some tests too bear? I'm hoping I'll be able to get my results tomorrow and can then decide what to do next.

OP posts:
Alibaba2 · 06/10/2016 19:53

Looking back on my cycles, the spotting started in August. But I used to have it last year too.

I'm not far from turning 41 Shock

jinglebellmel · 06/10/2016 20:16

Ali, I'm sure they shouldn't refuse tests based on your age then, I would definitely ask your GP about it, could be as simple as low progesterone or something that's easily fixed and might help you in ttc too.

thatsnotmybear · 06/10/2016 20:21

Ali I think you may be surprised. I first approached a GP for fertility investigations at the age of 33 after we'd been trying for about 6 months. I fully expected her to send me packing as I was under 35 & hadn't been trying for a year but she didn't. And the other week when I had the cp, that GP was really sympathetic too & agreed to the tests I asked for, & I'm not that much younger than you at 39!

Mel I'm really interested to find out about your results, & if they're helpful to you I might request the same of my GP & just wait until I'm mid-cycle to make an appointment.

Alibaba2 · 07/10/2016 11:22

Ok appointment is booked

McBaby · 07/10/2016 11:59

Sorry I have been Mia for a few weeks awful morning sickness has floored me. I got new medication yesterday which is working better.

I have had spotting before my period since the start of this year. I mentioned it to the gyne consumers who thought it may be low progesterone and she would then give me progesterone in pregnancy at about six weeks if I was spotting. I wasn't so she didn't.

But she wasn't so concerned as I could get pregnant so the spotting wasn't stopping implantation.

Alibaba2 · 07/10/2016 12:15

Thanks McBaby - that's reassuring. Did they ever test your prog?

Sorry you're feeling crap - when did sickness kick in and how many weeks are you now?

McBaby · 07/10/2016 13:08

I never got mine tested but would have pushed for it if had had taken a while to get pregnant

My morning sickness kicked in before 4 weeks which happened with the two girls but I had no morning sickness with the miscarriage. But it is so much worse I am suck up to ten times a day and can't move off the sofa after midday. I will be 9 weeks tomorrow so hopefully only a few more weeks till I feel ok and I can relax a bit. Feel on edge the whole time about another miscarriage.

jinglebellmel · 07/10/2016 13:26

So I called for my results and nothing of concern (one rest needs to be repeated in 12 weeks but I think that's standard with the clotting test) but the dr does want to speak to me about one result. It's non urgent so they've booked me in for a phone consultation, on the 18th and the receptionist can't tell me which test it about. I presume it's something minor if they don't even want to see me in person?!

OP posts:
Alibaba2 · 07/10/2016 13:45

I'm sure it's really minor as they said 'nothing if concern'. Annoying to have to wait though...

Alibaba2 · 07/10/2016 14:27

Nothing OF concern even!

jinglebellmel · 07/10/2016 15:42

Yes I'm sure they'd wNt to see me in person if it was anything much. I'm wondering if they still do the second clotting test even if the first was negative or if that means I got a positive? They don't diagnose until you've had 2 positive results anyway but it would be nice to know.

How are you today anyway Ali, any pms?

OP posts:
Alibaba2 · 07/10/2016 16:07

No PMS yet which is a miracle for me. But I did just get another tiny bit of spotting.

Maybe one test was borderline Mel or they want to further investigate something.

What were the tests again?

jinglebellmel · 07/10/2016 16:44

When is Af due Ali?

They tested hormones, thyroid, clotting, liver, kidney I know one of the clotting things they'll only diagnose if you have 2 positive tests 12 weeks apart, so I'm guessing maybe they want to re do that one. Guess I'll know on the 18th anyway.

OP posts:
thatsnotmybear · 07/10/2016 16:55

Mel you could try calling your surgery on Monday & requesting a GP callback that day. My surgery is incredibly busy but still offer this service to patients. Not that it's urgent, but the 18th is a long time to wait for test results that you are very keen to know, especially as you're actively ttc? It will take a GP 5-10 minutes to have the chat with you.
