Can't believe we've filled that thread, hope you all find this one!

Ali - so uncomfortable isn't it?! But I like that I can feel it happening, gives me a bit of warning at least. Yeah, I'm expecting I'll ov Thursday/Friday now which would work out much better than Saturday so fingers crossed.

I know Mel, it's difficult not to worry. My GP did say exactly that, that it was more likely to be just bad luck rather than something wrong. I asked for my thyroid to be tested so should get those results tomorrow. I don't think I'm going to panic or have further investigations unless (God forbid) it happens again.

jinglebellmel · 18/09/2016 19:01

It is, I could rationalise it when it was just the 1 mc especially as I already have a child, but I'm finding it difficult now. Before I had my son I had some blood tests which came back with high testosterone, didn't think much of it as I got pregnant v quickly afterwards but I may ask them to re-check this as I think it can be a factor for mc. I think I'm just desperate to find some reason now. The thought of trying again with the same odds are terrifying me.

Me too Mel, I had bloods done before I had my DS and they came back as sub-clinical hypothyroidism (so not low enough to be diagnosed or treated for hypothyroidism but at the very lower end of the normal range). I got pg before we could investigate further, and then forgot all about it, until my acu'ist mentioned it.

The fact is lots of women have MC's & CP's before or between having their DC, we just don't talk about it enough.

Alibaba2 · 18/09/2016 20:30

I agree Bear. And a lot of people must have CPs without even realising it.

I may have had a CP last year where I strongly felt the hcg, panicked for a couple of days then got a heavy period 2 days late. I didn't take a test as I'm not a big tester. I'm often too scared to test.

25% of pgs miscarry but this doesn't take into account CPs, I guess. So actually it's even higher.

Bear, how many days late was your period?

Alibaba2 · 18/09/2016 21:01

I hope that didn't sound insensitive.

I don't know why they're even called CPs and not early miscarriages - which is exactly what they are.

I never even knew what a CP was until a week ago.

I guess what I was trying to say that CPs must be fairly common. But it must be so hard for it to happen after a MC. How cruel to get a BFP and then have it taken away from you a few days later.

I hope the MC and CP are not related. And that its third time lucky Flowers

thatsnotmybear · 18/09/2016 21:33

Not at all Ali. I agree that the stigma surrounding mc makes it so much harder to deal with one when it happens to you.

AF was 4 days late, so hopefully the CP hasn't thrown my cycle off too much.

jinglebellmel · 19/09/2016 08:47

No not insensitive Ali.

Af arrived this morning, soonest I can get a Dr appointment is in 2 weeks, what a joke!

OP posts:
thatsnotmybear · 19/09/2016 09:44

I'm sorry AF arrived Mel. The one small comfort in that is as it least it's resolved itself & no follow-up treatment is required, unless you wanted to get it on your record & discuss your testosterone results. I'm surprised at the 2 week wait - my GP surgery is incredibly busy & the receptionists like to give you the brush off but when I was insistent they did fit me in. I expect it's a bigger challenge when you work full or part time.

Take car of yourself today x

jinglebellmel · 19/09/2016 09:49

Thanks bear, yes I'm glad it's turned up and I'm only a few days out from my normal cycle, so could be worse.

I'll try to get in on an emergency appointment on Wednesday as I'd like it on my records. I'm not sure if they'll count it though as they'll be nothing going to show I was ever pregnant?

Hope you're doing okay. How are you feeling about everything?

OP posts:
Alibaba2 · 19/09/2016 10:22

Hope you're both feeling ok today. On with the next cycle then...

Bee1234 · 19/09/2016 11:33

I hope that AF gave you some relief Mel, but I'm sure it still stung. What a joke the wait for an appointment is. Hopefully they will take your word as good enough and put it in your notes.. Although like Bear said, it's most likely to be bad luck :(

Fresh start now for both of you, these rainbow babies are coming!

thatsnotmybear · 19/09/2016 11:44

Mel, my GP wrote it up as 'Urine pregnancy test' before the bloods were taken, so they will take your word for it (GP was referring to my hpt, she didn't request that I took another one). Just state that you'd like it on your medical records.

I'm feeling fine thanks. Actually feel as optimistic about my chances going forward as I did before. I think it helps that I'm not dealing with high levels of pg hormones in the aftermath like I did last time, and am already back to feeling like my normal self.

Thebean123 · 19/09/2016 14:02

Sorry to hear AF has arrived Mel....but I echo everyone else in that at least it's not too far out of your normal cycle now and there's no extra intervention needed. Treat yourself to a glass of something u fancy tonight and then onwards and upwards :)

Good to see you're in a good frame of mind Bear....think that's the only way to be after everything we've been through :)

X

I think that's what I'm trying to focus on Blossom; it took me nearly a year to get pg with my DS and I was only 33. I've managed to get pg twice in 6 months at the age of 39. Just need to keep at it until one sticks!

I think it's a sign that you're both very fertile to conceive twice so close together. And it's gonna be third time lucky.

I'm cd6 and on a mission to drink at least 2 litres/day. Just noticed a load of stretchy cm when I wiped. Never noticed that much before. Is it the double dose of epo, grapefruit juice and loads of water kicking in or am I ov'ing extra early? I can feel something happening in my ovaries but that's normal for now.

I'm going to do an opk when I get home, OH 'cleared his sperm' last night and unfortunately it wasn't in me as I had a headache. And I was still spotting yesterday and a tiny bit today.

Surely I can't be fertile yet?!

jinglebellmel · 19/09/2016 18:11

That's great bear :) hopefully i'll be feeling more positive soon.

Ali how are you getting on, is it nearly fertile week?

OP posts:
thatsnotmybear · 19/09/2016 19:04

Mel it's ok to not feel positive, it's a crap thing to happen. I think I'm just relieved that it wasn't as bad as last time, but of course I might have a dip in a week or two where I feel angry & upset about it again, and that's ok too!

Ali I made the mistake of reading your sperm clearing post while eating my dinner! Shock

Alibaba2 · 19/09/2016 22:21

Sorry Bear! Confused

jinglebellmel · 20/09/2016 08:46

Sorry missed all these posts. Thanks for all your positive words you really are all getting me through :)

Ali lots of ewcm sounds positive! I had a ridiculous ammount from about cd6/7 last month

Alibaba2 · 20/09/2016 20:05

Bear/Mel, how are you both feeling?

Bean - any update your end? When is AF due?

Thebean123 · 20/09/2016 20:33

Hi Ali :) no news here....AF due in 2 days and it's most definitely on its way. Achey back, twinges in my right side, insatiable appetite etc etc ha! Stocked up on trusty tampax today :( feeling fine to be fair though....always knew we would be out this month as we were very half hearted during fertile week, dtd twice maybe 3 times so it is what it is.

Back on the healthy eating and no booze now ready for this month so bring it on :)

How is everyone?xx

Alibaba2 · 20/09/2016 20:40

Ok well see what the week brings. I always find pre-AF a very negative time so glad you're feeling upbeat.

Nothing my end, opks negative still (phew)! Have never had so much ewcm - how weird is that? I did drink a LOT of water yesterday. Hoping I get some like that in a couple of days. FF has ov on Sunday.

thatsnotmybear · 20/09/2016 21:28

Hi Ali, I've been feeling a bit meh today. It's making me think that perhaps I could do with having a break this month. Will see how I feel as FW approaches.

Do you think the ewcm is down to the supplements you've been taking?
