Hello,

We have 2 already and with a 8 year gap to the youngest we've decided we'd love a third.

so really do I need to get the ovulation sticks? Take temperatures?! All new to this feel like there are lots of new acronyms and I've no idea what they mean lol.

Sorry if my post is a bit vague I guess we have been waiting for the right time and now we're here, and I'm like ok! Aside from the lots of shagging what else do I need to know?

:)

ilovethestars sounds promising! I'm a terrible symptom spotter. I can pretty much link anything I'm feeling to being a pregnancy symptom!! When will you test?? You could be this groups first bfp!

MotherofUnicorns · 06/09/2016 22:20

oo that is promising! I have convinced myself both months that i was pg - i linked everything ..... constipation, diarrhoea, hunger, spots, blah blah!! I actually think i might have been the first month bt it didn't implant as i def felt very weird. I am on CD7 today, did an opk thing and it's not time. I think i might go for it every other day from day 9 just to be sure..... and also that will be this weekend so much more likely to get around to it!! Fingers crossed this month everyone.....x

Sorry to hear it's taking longer this time, EmmaWoo1605. It's amazing really how it can vary from one pregnancy to the next. I have two friends who had IVF babies first time round and fell naturally, quickly, the second time. Are you putting a time limit on it or just seeing how it goes? How is your DH about it all? Excited or the laid-back type?! I think I will try to come off the pill asap and get myself ready - the apps worked for me both times before, I found them amazing. Just need to have another big chat with DH about it all first - he knows I want another one and is fine with it (think he'd ideally like an easier life with two tbh), I just need to tell him my plan and see what he says!

EmmaWoo1605 · 07/09/2016 07:53

DH really wants a baby as he has none of his own...but having said that he's been pretty laid back about it and is very much 'if it happens it happens'. Not put a time limit on it...but probably wouldn't want to still be trying when I hit 40 in Nov next year! What I'm finding hardest is the wanting. I've never been in the situation of wanting a baby so badly. It's a never ending circle of first the obsession with when I'm due to ov, and making sure we dtd enough, then the symptom spotting during the 2ww, then the huge disappointment and upset when af inevitably makes an appearance. I've tried to not think about it and just see what happens but...!
Downloaded the Ovia app last month which I'm finding fantastic.

Definitely a wise idea 24carrot to get off the pill asap. Get your natural cycles back on track before going for it. Everything crossed for you!

X

Symptom spotting alert!!

Now cd25, but only 4 or 5 days dpo...and already I'm symptom spotting! Yesterday I had some cramping really low down most of the day, then last night some browny coloured spotting (tmi...sorry!). Oh and lingering nausea most of the afternoon too. I know it's way way too soon for anything but can't help but think...!!

[hmmm]

MotherofUnicorns · 08/09/2016 20:37

Well that sounds a bit promising...... Exciting!! when can you do a test?

I downloaded the Ovia app yesterday and it seems great by the way if anyone is looking for a good tracking app.

EmmaWoo1605 · 09/09/2016 08:51

I use the Ovia app too motherofunicorns and find it fantastic!

Will try a test maybe middle of next week...af has been all over the place the last few months so not entirely sure when it will be due! Still having some symptoms on and off. Some cramping, some nausea, massive wave of exhaustion yesterday, and low back ache today. All promising signs...but I just get the feeling I'll be disappointed again!

Watch this space I guess!

Can I join to please? I am 38 (will be 39 now if I get pregnant) and trying to conceive #3 since January. Already have 2 DD aged 8 and 6. Like a lot of posters we were undecided for a number of years, mainly due to finances and logistics but we have decided to give it another shot. Good luck to everyone xxx

EmmaWoo1605 · 09/09/2016 14:19

Welcome!
Good for you...you'd probably always regret it if you didn't try. Have you only just started trying? You're same age as me...I've found it harder to conceive this time! My 2 boys happened straight away! While I don't feel like I'm too old, I do feel a bit like I have the countdown clock on me!

X

EmmaWoo1605 · 09/09/2016 14:20

Haha sorry...just seen you've been trying since Jan!! Again, same as me!!

24carrot · 09/09/2016 15:04

Keeping everything crossed for you EmmaWoo1605, I remember symptom spotting! With my first it took 4-5 months to conceive so expected my second to take longer but it happened straight away and I knew because I kept feeling this very low-grade tugging in my uterus, like a mini contraction but not painful - I remembered the sensation from labour! I don't think it was on the general list of symptoms but I knew right away - so that could be another one for you to watch out for...
I've just come off the pill a couple of days ago, as you say, get my cycles back to normal asap. Feels like a big step forward already! Will check out the Ovia app, Woman Log worked brilliantly for me for my previous conceptions but the fertility app seems to have exploded since then! Can anyone recommend ovulation sticks to try please?

24carrot · 09/09/2016 15:05

Fertility app market that should read...

user1469095927 · 10/09/2016 09:02

Thanks everyone. Conceived my other 2 fairly quickly so this is a bit different this time. Used OPKS sometimes but I think I know what to look for. Only problem is periods have become a bit irregular. Used to be 28 days without fail and now they are a bit all over the place!

Ilovethestars · 11/09/2016 09:22

Morning everyone!

Well today is the first day that af might make an appearance, as cycyles 24-28 days generally. Had cramping last week, actually thought I was going to come on, similar to with DD2, no nausea since Friday but have had fun busy weekend with friends, so much distraction, also taking Boots pregnancy vitamins, and they have ginger in them, which I think has helped that. Not feeling like eating what I want usually, as with DD1, and have a touch of backache this morning, so there concludes my spotting for today. Grin

Hope everyone well, 2ww going calmly and hopefully some bfp's coming along soon.
Happy Sunday everyone!

Mimilicious013 · 11/09/2016 16:33

NovemberInDailyFailLand · 11/09/2016 16:39

38 and about to have #3. Easiest pregnancy so far - we used Clearblue Ovulation because the cheap strips were hard to read, and the Conceive + stuff and were lucky straight away (though after 1 mc).

EmmaWoo1605 · 11/09/2016 19:52

Sounds promising ilovethestars
I'm still very much symptom spotting! Still having nausea on and off, been exhausted at times, some pain really low in my tummy (like a wind pain but without the wind!). I'm only about 7dpo so still think it's too soon for symptoms. But I have everything crossed!

Hi mimi and november!

November that's good to hear that this one has been your easiest pregnancy! I've been anticipating the worst I have to say! So would you recommend conceive+ then? What exactly are they?!

Xx

MotherofUnicorns · 11/09/2016 20:49

oooh good luck EmmaWoo and ilovethestars! I am feeling positive this month, I got some clearblue sticks and am on day 12 so it is going to be a busy few days!!
Keep posting.....x

user1469095927 · 11/09/2016 21:53

Good luck MotherofUnicorns, EmmaWoo and Ilovethestars! Fingers crossed for you. AF arrived on Thursday so back to trying next month for us.

NovemberInDailyFailLand · 12/09/2016 04:44

Well, I can't tell if it really did work but there have been good reviews on Amazon from those who have been ttc for some time.
It's in small applicator vials, and you use it like a lubricant just before the relevant occasion :)
It's supposed to help the sperm along.

JonahAndTheSale · 12/09/2016 22:21

Just wanted to give this thread a little bump.

Nice to hear from people in a similar boat and reassurance that 37/38 isn't ancient in terms of ttc!

my friend announced she was pg today! Does anyone get the, I'm so happy for you but wish it was me too? Mabe that's just me!

Also is anyone going into this knowing that if they do successfully conceive they'll be sick as a dog?

user1469095927 · 12/09/2016 22:35

Hi Jonah, it is nice to hear from others that are in the same boat. One of my close friends announced she was pregnant with her third and I was delighted but at the same time really upset because it wasn't me if that makes sense. I have got friends who had their first at 38 so I know it's possible but it's still frustrating waiting.

Luckily I wasn't sick with my other pregnancies but there is still a part of me worried about going back to square one!

Ilovethestars · 12/09/2016 22:44

Bah!!
I'm out!
Try again next month.
How about others, Emma, Unicorns?

Ilovethestars · 12/09/2016 22:49

Boooo for af, User.

I'm expecting to be sick as a dog, Jonah Envy

user1469095927 · 12/09/2016 23:09

Aww no stars, fingers crossed for you for next month xx
