Hello,

We have 2 already and with a 8 year gap to the youngest we've decided we'd love a third.

so really do I need to get the ovulation sticks? Take temperatures?! All new to this feel like there are lots of new acronyms and I've no idea what they mean lol.

Sorry if my post is a bit vague I guess we have been waiting for the right time and now we're here, and I'm like ok! Aside from the lots of shagging what else do I need to know?

:)

Hi ladies, can I join you here. 38yrs, 6yr old ds, prior to him sadly a termination for fatal condition, just got married to my 2nd husband ! 10 and 16 yr step kids. We both really want a baby together. Only trying in last couple of weeks. Last cycle 35days and two previous ones 19days!!!!!!! Prior to that was as regular as clockwork (why suddenly irregular?).Currently on day 18 of this cycle, dtd lots. Have ovulation sticks ready for next cycle. Already obsessed but don't want to be........ HELP!

Hi everyone.

Never expected to be back here but....positive test result for me this morning and we stopped trying a month ago! I haven't used the ovia app, never did get around to the ovulation kits, and haven't been DTD on demand.

So how did I know to test? My daughter got out of the shower yesterday and say next to me in her towels and there was a smell I just couldn't place, and didn't like. After sniffing her I realised it was the hair conditioner, the same conditioner I have been using on the DC for years!

So....this morning (not even first trip to the toilet) I thought I'd just do a test stick 'for fun'. And usually it is just the one line to the far left of the stick but here was one I was unfamiliar with. Still in shock TBH. No more white russians for me! :)

Congrats to you other positive test result people :) :) :)

We need a list like some of the other threads have got so if everyone can give an update and I'll collate a list?

EmmaWoo1605 I'm so so very sorry to hear your sad news, if that is the case. I know you've been trying for so long and your pregnancy was so wanted. Let us know how it goes on Friday, I hope you're able to plan a quiet weekend afterwards.
No news from me at the moment. My cycle is just sorting itself out after coming off the pill a few weeks ago, hopefully it'll get into some kind of rhythm soon, so very early days.
Hope everyone else is getting on ok x

Hi ladies,
Well it looks like I might be joining you all again after I got my bfp a few weeks ago. Had the tiniest bit of spotting last Thursday so panicked and rang the early pregnancy unit. Had a scan on Friday when I should have been 9 weeks, but the baby was only measuring 6 weeks. I have to go back this Friday for a second scan to see if the pregnancy has progressed at all, altho its pretty certain there's no possible way my dates could be so far out, so we're prepared for being told our baby died at 6 weeks. We're beyond devastated right now, and really just waiting for the inevitable to happen.
So while I'm sad to be back on the 'trying' board, I'm happy to have the support of you guys again.

Hope you're all doing well...guess I have some catching up to do.

Xxx

No it gradually builds up and then drops after ovulation i presume.
I will do it again this evening and expect it to be very faint as well.
This was my first week using them so a bit of a novice myself.....

Ooh yes thank you MotherofUnicorns - I just had a closer look! Does it give you a sudden peak and fall then? The apps give you a few days' 'build up' before they reckon you're ovulating.

I put in the pic of the ones i bought off Amazon in the thread earlier. They are good so far and defintely showed me a peak and fall this weekend......Super easy to use as well.

Hello, how is everyone doing? Congrats to the mamas with the bfps! So excited for you, hope it's all going well.
I dropped off this thread for a few weeks and went back on the pill as the thought of having no.3 suddenly became a bit much (DH hadn't yet properly agreed to it), but a week ago was our anniversary and we managed to get out for a meal and he told me he's really up for having another one, yeah! So am back off the pill but would like some advice please on ovulation kits - what should I get? Used apps before to get pregnant but might try something extra this time! TIA x

Congrats user what wonderful news!

Welcome inny and lost

On the other end of the spectrum I'm feeling a bit too happy not to be pregnant as my life right now as I have quite a few very exposing social things planned and I'm enjoying a White Russian way too much! And then it'll be Christmas!

Hi, I'd like to join the bread too. You've all made me feel so much better about trying for another. I thought I was possibly bonkers. I'm 38 with a DS that's 9. Not planning on actively trying until at least December (selfishly...I have stuff planned for April that I don't want to postpone should anything happen). Went to Dr yesterday after a bit of a health scare earlier in the week and he mentioned that I should start taking folic acid now.

Aww stars. Sad here's hoping for next time for you!
I have to admit I'm a bit lost with all these sticks and things. I'm on the minipill at the moment. Is it worth me getting some yet? Like you unicorn, I'm thinking I would maybe get to grips with my cycle as at the moment I only go on being extremely thirsty and tired the day before. Ha! If I should where do I get them from (Amazon obviously is one place!) and what are they called?! Tia x

SOi have now worked out that having a mirena coil in for 4 years might have affected my cycles...
I am currently on cd37 and have started with the cheapo OPKs from amazon. i am getting medium dark lines which i think means i am nearing ovulation.
I have no idea what is going on with me so i thinki just need to keep going with these so i can find some kind of pattern and start tracking everything properly..... This might take a while.....
Hope everyone else is ok?

Thanks stars. Keep hanging in there. We were feeling the same. If it hadn't happened soon then we were going to stop trying. If it's any help I had tingly boobs on Monday before I tested.

Congratulations, User! Exciting times ahead!

Still hanging around, siting for AF also. Due any day really. No symptoms of either pregnancy or pending AF really, although had really weird boob sensation this morning when I got in from work, which I don't usually get with AF. Feel a bit like I'm running out of time with this; we're calling it a day with regards to trying, if not pregnant by Christmas, however, this month would work best in terms of dates as we might be moving and I could work up to may leave and look for a new job while off. Otherwise, I'll have to give notice and no one will want to employ a ready-to-drop-pregnant lady.

Just to update you all. Got a BFP yesterday. Had a feeling that I might be so took a really cheap test the day before I was due and it was positive so I took another test and there was 2 very strong lines. To make even more sure I took ANOTHER test and it was positive too. Smile quite excited but also a bit in shock as we were sure it wasn't going to happen. Showed hubby the test and his jaw nearly hit the floor Grin

How is everyone else doing? xx
