Hello,

We have 2 already and with a 8 year gap to the youngest we've decided we'd love a third.

so really do I need to get the ovulation sticks? Take temperatures?! All new to this feel like there are lots of new acronyms and I've no idea what they mean lol.

Sorry if my post is a bit vague I guess we have been waiting for the right time and now we're here, and I'm like ok! Aside from the lots of shagging what else do I need to know?

:)

3 under 5? Wow! Not much longer to wait to test for you? I'm only cd13 so long way for me yet this cycle! Best of luck! Xxx

Orange, you know what's right for you.,.if it's not the right time for you then no point rushing it. Wish you love and luck for the future xxx

Totally don't blame you Orange! I can think of reasons to be 'happy' each month if i am not pg. Life is good, I love my career and I am lucky to have 2 healthy kids so i feel a little bit greedy and pushing my luck anyway!! I am on day 21 so i guess due this weekend but only second cycle after coil removed so no clue as to how regular i will be. I can't remember from before but i think it was more of a 30-32 day cycle than 28. Let's see......

Thanks Emma and Elly.

Well I stopped taking the pill 2 days ago so back on track. My main worry was that I thought my husband was only saying he wanted another one to please me and because I'm older that he knew I wanted to do it now. Strangely I just couldn't try and get pregnant unless he was 100% into it and once I knew he was the worries died away :)

Not sure where that leaves me in my cycle or if I'll have a withdraw bleed after being on the pill for 5 days....

Hi Orange,

Just wanted to say I empathise on the OH having doubts thing.

We started ttc#3 in Dec 2014 for 9 months but it was very half-hearted because I was scared it was more my decision than OH's.

OH was actually the one instigating dtd but we kept missing the ov window.

I then fell pg by accident after we gave up but mc'd. Am going for it now - no doubts this time!

It's a big decision but one you
might regret if you decide not to.

Good luck with it all!

Ali sorry to hear about your mc. That must have been hard after stopping trying and then that happening and then the mc. Flowers

I think you're right this is something you have to be fully committed to.

I'm just gonna go for it. I know if I don't I'll always wonder and that's crap!

Not pg. V short cycle this month - 24 days which is odd. Obvs totally missed the window!!
Which are the best OPKs then??

orangeistheonlyfruit · 01/09/2016 08:36

Sorry to hear that Elly :(

I don't know about the opks but someone else may be along soon.

I had another period after taking the pill for 4 days and then stopping taking it. So I think I'm reset to the beginning again anyway. We may start the cycle on the same day Elly so it's nice to have come company :)

Please keep this thread going!

I'm going to be ttc no.3 from November onwards.

Just want to chat to others about it! I'd never discuss it with anyone in rl. Dh and I were saying that if we did get pregnant, people would be sure it was an accident as we have a girl and a boy already! I just want another baby and don't care what it is!

Hi Jonah.
I'm 41 and ttc #4! I haven't told anyone in rl except dp. Will be #1 for him. People will think I'm crazy if I conceive! Other kids are 12,10,8.

lousy I do worry about age but it's definitely more and more common to see older mothers! I don't feel old but I wonder if other people think I am. Sad

I had my first 2 at 33 and 35 and some insensitive git said "aren't you worried about being an old granny?"

Some people eh?

I have no advice but I might just quietly lurk on your thread, if that is ok. I am 38 and hoping for number 2 despite it probably being a very bad idea as I had a challenging time with number 1. My last period started 6 weeks ago tomorrow. So, I'm fully expecting my next to turn up very soon. But hoping it doesn't.

Just changed my username as it was so boring! Jonah - go for it. I was just speaking to a 40yr old friend today who is going through IVF with a donor anD her medical advice has been positive in terms of number of eggs etc. It made me feel better - I'm worried all my eggs are rotting away!! I have stupidly told a few people we are trying so I know all eyes are on me which adds to the pressure.
I'm just being all casual about it to them!

Welcome jonah, lousy , alibaba and freedom (and of cause unicorns!)

Yes let's keep this going if we can.

While not telling anyone we are trying I have told a few friends I have stopped the pill (to much squealing!) so hopefully there's no pressure attached to that.

Well not pregnant here - forked out for a test after a 6 week 1 day cycle and promptly came on within an hour of negative result. But sad but also bit relived as shellfish pie for dinner and I'd had an excellent weekend drinking wine and enjoying a couple of nostalgic roll ups with an old friend after 3 years of abstaining

Motherofunicorns...loving the name! Freedom...bummer about the negative, but as you say, possibly for the best!! I'm currently laying legs in the air hoping for the miracle this month! Seems I'm having another long cycle...only ov'd on CD21. Should've been last week according to the app so dtd plenty around then. Worried I may have left it too late to catch the fertile time now. Today should be my last fertile day. Managed to dtd today and yesterday so there's hope! Guess it's the 2ww for me now. Anyone else? X

Can I join in?
36 and trying for a third, or rather not preventing, but calling time for permanent stoppage at end of year.
Previous post caught my eye as back from hols where are shellfish, drank more than normal and we've had liver for tea Confused *i only ate tiny piece of liver so it didn't look weird in front of dc's.
Oddly this is first month since 'trying' I thought we might be on, so now panicking about all of above...

Welcome ilovethestars! Understand you feel a bit concerned...but don't! We can't possibly put life on hold every month just in case. My 2 boys, now 12 and 10, weren't particularly planned. I didn't know I was pg with either u til around 6 weeks. My life just carried on as normal (with copious amounts of alcohol...I was in my twenties!). What cd are you? CD22 for me x

Thank you, Emma. Smile
I'm cd 21 but of a cycle that is anywhere between 24 and 28 days. Am purposefully a lot more chilled about ttc this time, so not 100% sure of ov. Keep having waves of nausea which is what's making me suspicious. Now I've put it out there, I'll come on tomorrow Grin

Hello ladies, would love to join the thread. Am 37 (and a half! Wink) and planning DC3. When I was pregnant with no.2 I couldn't accept it would be the last time, even though we kind of only ever talked about having 2. I think husband is on board but have time to get him used to the idea as I'm not planning on TTC until Christmas as for various reasons would ideally like an Autumn baby next year - BUT I'm worried this is ever so picky of me at my elderly maternal age and maybe I should just get on with it now! Have any of you ladies been on the mini pill and when did you come off before TTC? Good luck everyone x

Welcome 24carrot
I've been off the pill almost a year now, stopped it a month or two after I remarried. Been ttc since January. Having conceived really fast with my first 2 I thought the same might happen this time. But no! Month 8 for us, and starting to worry it might never happen! I'm convinced its my age (39 in November Confused), could be my new hubby (he has no kids), could just be taking its time. It could end up taking you a few cycles too (altho I truly hope it doesn't!) then you won't have an autumn baby!
Xxx
