Yes same shoes yuck! But on toilet roll it was like woah ok, I can just about deal with this and had the egg white thing too but missed the lh surge but good to know the signs

Karendvm · 14/10/2016 20:31

Well. Missing bloodwork from previous clinic so need to do more tests.

CautionHormone · 14/10/2016 21:27

Gosh, you ladies have been busy since the other day! Grin

Taydex it's SO nice to hear from you!!! Can't believe you're so close to having titch - I knew you said end of October but I couldn't remember the exact date. Sorry to hear (s)he isn't playing ball, though; but as you said, it means you'll get to meet him/her a little sooner Wink you'll have to let us know when (s)he is here and safe.

Kwick have a fab weekend in Mallorca! Hopefully the heat will help and not hinder your itching!

Shoes, you're right. Ultimately, I keep coming back to the welsh clinic and I feel that's where my heart lies. Not only that, I have the added bonus of seeing my best friend more regularly than what I would do if I didn't Wink

Im glad the topic of ovulation has been brought up because I've been wondering this myself. I know I've spoke about it before but I have a brain like a sieve and can't remember what happened yesterday, let alone a few weeks/months ago!
I've always read (and I could be wrong!) that the ClearBlue ovulation tests need to be used consistently in order to get "used" to your body. Now, I thought this sounded dodgy at the time, so if I used the CB tests when the cheapies say I'm close to ov'ing would it work?
If that all made sense 😂

INeedNewShoes · 14/10/2016 21:47

The pink Clearblue are just a basic LH test that shows a positive as a smiley face. They don't record your previous levels, so no need to use consistently.

I think the purple Clearblue machine does keep a record so compares your personal LH (and oestrogen? or some other hormone) over the days.

Karendvm · 14/10/2016 22:00

caution that's how I do it. I like to poas a lot and don't feel bad using up the Internet cheapies. My new clinic just told me they want me to test first thing in the morning. And I'm not sure how that will work for me because I have gotten positives at noon and at supper, never with fmu. I also think that my surge is super short. So I'm just going to keep testing all the time. :)

pickle162 · 14/10/2016 22:15

Thanks hoping :)

karen the lh tests that I have said not to do first morning wee, it's all so conflicting

HopingForALittleOne · 14/10/2016 22:54

Poas - peeing on a stick?...

StorkAhoy · 14/10/2016 22:54

Hi all!

caution is that CRGW In Wales? I so nearly used them if so! They were lovely to talk with!
However I'm glad that for my first go round the carousel I'm with a clinic 20mins away.

And with that in mind I announce that tonight was my first injection of buserelin. And what a lovely itchy experience that was. But here we go!

Off to NY tomorrow with medication and needles, oh the fun of IVF!

Got my donor info today, and am very happy with what was essentially the last guy in the bank. I'm classing this as fate.

With that I bid you all goodnight!

HopingForALittleOne · 14/10/2016 23:15

Good luck with injections stork xx

Karendvm · 15/10/2016 01:26

pickle I know, right? I figure testing more is better than not enough.

Yes hoping. Pee on a stick. Lol. Last year this time I had no idea what that meant. Oh the things I've learned.
stork how exciting. Hope the injections continue to go well. Safe trip.
kwick have a great weekend!

Snowdog37 · 15/10/2016 01:52

Hi, can I join? After several failed clomid/iui cycles and repeated bloodwork I've not been diagnosed with premature Ovarian failure and will be looking at donor egg IVF next year some time. It's prohibitively expensive here in the States so we will travel to Europe to do it, most likely Spain or Greece so we can combine it with a vacation. At first I was devastated but now I have researched it more, I'm really optimistic. The success rate is so much better, with my own non existent and crappy eggs I was told IVF would have a 2-5% success rate, with fresh cycle donor eggs it leaps to over 50% so I'll take it!
Can anyone recommend any particular clinic?
I'll settle in for a long read now that I've found this thread Smile

Snowdog37 · 15/10/2016 01:52

*now been diagnosed not not been diagnosed....

kwick · 15/10/2016 08:56

pickle I too am not checking out my fanjo for gunk!

FFS karen I think you had to do a repeat Hycosy too as that report was lost? Angry

My clinic also told me to test LH in the morning, but then another nurse/scanner said twice a day... in the end I did twice a day until I moved to medicated IUI - the meds interfere with the opks so then my clinic did bloods (which is probs more reliable than any POAS). I guess if I am doing natural IUI it will be back to OPKs again - I rather like the thought - gives one a sense of "doing" something other than having a wand shoved up ones fanjo periodically...Confused

stork enjoy NY!!!

snowdog is that you? You were on another thread and moved earlier this year to the US?
I am really sorry about your news but at least now you know what you are dealing with and can do something about it!
I have had all my treatment in the UK but have heard goid things about a clinic in Athens and one in Valencia.

I am at my friends in Mallorca, we stayed up late last night talking - so much to catch up on!

CautionHormone · 15/10/2016 13:02

Ah shoes that makes sense - I must've got them mixed up! I really struggle to get positibes sometimes with opks, even though I have tested morning, afternoon and evening. Guess I just need to test more because I have a short surge!

Stork hi there! Yes it's CRGW in Wales :) they're so lovely, and I thought I could combine the time I spent in Wales with my closest friend who lives there (and who I haven't seen for a LONG time!) so it's not all bad. She said I can stay at hers, and that she'll come to appointments with me providing she's off work... I totally undersgnd why you wanted to go to somewhere a bit closer to home though because that's what I've been battling with!

Oooh good luck with everything... Im glad you're happy with your donor too; that always helps Wink. Keep us updated and enjoy NY!

pickle162 · 15/10/2016 13:53

Ok so this happened today Grin i peed directly on the stick tho rather than peeing into a pot-should that make a difference? If only this was a pregnancy test rather the an lh testing strip but yay I've only been off the pill 19days

Karendvm · 15/10/2016 14:05

Looks like a nice positive to me pickle. Are you going to do a clear blue too? I just like seeing the smiley face. Lol

kwick yes, apparently they have holes in my file. Need to test for rubella. If I don't have immunity I need the vaccine and will have to wait 6 weeks. Which mean missing one cycle, but I could also save more money as this clinic is a bit more expensive side than previous. I have a better feeling with them though. So much more organized and transparent. Makes me feel for comfortable.

pickle162 · 15/10/2016 14:36

I haven't got any clear blues...this is another one my friend gave me but this isn't showing up as dark but will txt again later to see if darker

Snowdog37 · 15/10/2016 15:09

Hi kwick yes it's me! I took a few months off mn but with this new diagnosis I really wanted to get some advice and talk to others going through something similar. It's really shite but I can't fault the Drs here, they've run so many tests and been really thorough so when they said there's pretty much no point in even trying with my own eggs, I believe them.
In other news, I've settled in well, we bought a house, and got a dog! So aside from being old and decrepit, life is good! How's everything going for you? I haven't been back in my old thread, I should go read it to see how they're all doing too.

Karendvm · 15/10/2016 15:21

Welcome snowdog. I've also considering looking into heading across the pond for treatment if it gets to that point. I wish you luck on your journey!

Karendvm · 15/10/2016 15:35

Happy day! I am immune to rubella so I should be good to go with my next cycle. Also think I just got a positive opk, which means I'm only two weeks away!

HopingForALittleOne · 15/10/2016 17:24

Welcome snowdog I'm new on here and already finding it so helpful and supportive.

Looks lIke what the instructions say should happen pickle so fingers crossed.

As a more general point is it common to miss your surge? I think I have to pay a cancellation fee if I miss it

kwick · 15/10/2016 18:52

pickle to me that looks like you have an LH surge - but I am no expert.

So nice to hear from you snow!!! A dog??? Let me see a picture pleeeeeeeease??? I am not sure if you were on the JSing thread or the one where Starkey gave out stars? But both have been really sparse on BFPs lately Sad
I am sure you must be very disappointed but glad that you still have a way forward. Do you start this cycle or do you need longer to find a donor?

hoping if you can understand your cycle and when you usually surge it can help but maybe test frequently so you do not miss it?

Just had a lovely driving through Mallorca - weather has been amazing - let me make you all jealous

hoping I surged on cd16 last cycled, and here it is day 13 this cycle. I was pretty stressed out last month, and I think that delayed my ovulation. I don't think it's common to miss it, but I'm paranoid. I start testing on day 10 as per my clinic. Twice a day in the past, but now I'll be doing morning noon and night.

HopingForALittleOne · 15/10/2016 19:38

Wow qwick photo is amazing haha I'm sitting at home with pets watching strictly and it's raining outside.

Thanks for advice and karen as well defo will start testing early and more than once a day. Just bought lots of pee sticks on Internet. Grin

Anyone take their basal temperature too?

Karendvm · 15/10/2016 19:53

So after all that talk.....have what I would say is a positive on my internet stick. Clear blue-no smile. ????? Last time it all matched up. I'll test again later. Maybe go and get a different brand of opk. Just want to get it sorted and feel comfortable with these opks. I'm probably going to ask the nurse when I speak with her on Monday too. kwick your picture is amazing! Beautiful day here too, although I'm going to waste it by having a nap. :)
