oooh awesome news on your 3+ Sammy! Congrats!

TMI, welcome! I've no experience with clomid though, I'm afraid as we've gone straight to IVF.

Ah ok, Lucie. I'll go for the mornings then. That seems safe. I've just had another email from reprofit including all our consent forms etc. It says they recommend we get there the day before EC because we are using DH's fresh sperm, so I assume they would have wanted him to give his sample the day before. I've emailed them back and told them we can't be there the day before, so I'm hoping that won't be a problem.

bananafish81 · 27/07/2016 20:14

Every cycle I have taken my Cetrotide (like Orgalutran) on trigger day

Because I normally did my jabs in the evening, my consultant told me a specific time to take the Cetrotide and Gonal-F, because he wanted the trigger to be the last thing I took.

Every Dr is different however!

Sorry for lack of personals - sammy just in answer to your question, we haven't added in patches as in my dummy FET I actually did worse on the patches than on the pills

I'm to carry on with the stims / Cetrotide / progynova until Sunday when my consultant will scan me. I assume we will then cancel the cycle, although obvs I am desperately hoping for a miracle triple line, 2mm of lining growth and no fluid in the uterus

Sadly I don't believe in miracles!

lucieloos · 27/07/2016 20:24

Noo you don't give the sample the day before MPP that will be done by your DH while you are in EC. The consent form just says because you are using fresh sperm it's ok to leave it until the day before to arrive in Brno meaning you don't need to get there any earlier than that. You don't need to do anything the day before so you will be fine.

Banana, hope you get your miracle on Sunday. Will be thinking of you.

Congratulations on the 3+ Sammy. Things are sounding great.

Hi TMI and welcome. I have no experience of clomid, sorry. If you aren't ovulating though, it should help with that.

MPP81 · 27/07/2016 22:34

haha, complete stupid moment there! Of course thats what they meant! I swear, I'm not usually so dense! I'm clearly completely overthinking every aspect of this now. Thank god for you guys.

Thanks for the info re: orgalutran, Banana. I too am hoping for your miracle on Sunday and keeping everthing crossed for you xx

MrsRen · 28/07/2016 08:47

Wow lots of positives going on at the moment, it's great news for all of you and fingers crossed for those still having bumps in the road.

Welcome TMI we are also on month 14 TTC but I've no experience with clomid as we are still undergoing fertility tests.

All my bloods came back ok and my ultrasound was fine also, just waiting for DH SA to come back and we have a doctors appointment booked for the day after results. The doctor we had started to see has left the surgery though so I'm hoping it won't feel like we are starting over!

star1980 · 28/07/2016 10:48

Hi tmi, I'm on Clomid - on my third cycle of Clomid plus trigger shot plus timed intercourse. If you're not ovulating, Clomid has a good success rate at inducing ovulation and therefore pregnancy. Not sure if thyroid issues have an effect on that but I thought thyroid levels are sorted through medication (guessing). I'm not 100% sure why I've been put on Clomid as I ovulate on my own and we have sperm issues. But my dr thinks Ivf is quite invasive so suggested we try a few cycles of Clomid first. Maple and I are on another thread of Clomid ladies called Clomid/ovidrel/iui so there's a bit more experience there if you fancy joining us. As for side effects, I'm on 50mg from cd2-6. I get night sweats but I got those anyway, I take the pills at night so hopefully sleep through most side effects.

So ladies, I need some advice. Just had my day 10 scan. I usually have 2 follicles on my right ovary which I did again, but this cycle the left has woken up so I have 4 follicles at 18, 16, 15 and 14. They've instructed me to have protected sex until my next period and essentially cancel the cycle. Left the clinic in tears. So, I don't want twins, but I cant help think that all these follicles gives me a better chance given that the previous cycles haven't worked and with our sperm issues, so I am very tempted to just trigger and shag (sorry) against the advice of the drs. Am I being completely and utterly stupid??

Itsme247 · 28/07/2016 11:12

Hi Star, I'm not a doctor - but it's odd they've gone down the iui route? I would have thought that with male factor, it'll be unlikely that you'll get pregnant as it's the sperm not getting to the egg, not lack of eggs!

I would (personally) shag.

Brenna24 · 28/07/2016 12:28

I'd go for it Star. There is no way I would want to waste that chance.

lucieloos · 28/07/2016 13:11

I agree star we weren't offered iui as no good with male factor which is what we have so I would just go for it too. Just about to get flight so check back later

OP posts:
stealthbanana · 28/07/2016 13:11

star how frustrating for you. Like the others I don't really understand why you're on Clomid if it's male factor.

I personally wouldn't take the risk with 6 follies - the complications that could cause would be horrendous. HOWEVER have you asked about converting to an IVF cycle? I did this on my second round of iui because I had too many follies. It's relatively straight forward - they bring along any extra follies with a few days more stims and then you just have an EC post trigger. Would that be an option?

MPP81 · 28/07/2016 15:12

Star, I'm sorry your appointment wasn't what you hoped. Also don't understand the clomid. We were told there was no point in anything but IVF with mf. I can totally understand why you would want to go for it this month. Logic says surely more eggs = more chance of one of the guys getting where they are supposed to be. However, Banana makes a good point about the potential complications. Worth asking if you can convert the cycle as she suggests?

Lucie, hope you've had/are having a good flight! Everything crossed for you!

Re: the orgalutran and the trigger shot, the clinic emailed me today saying to take the orgalutran in the mornings as they should be at the same time each day, and there should be at least 8 hours between that and the trigger on Saturday. Took the first this morning, but wasn't a big fan of the gigantic air bubble in the needle, which google told me was supposed to be there. DH and I compromised and made it a bit smaller but left a bit too. It stung more than the gonal does. Next scan tomorrow!

star1980 · 28/07/2016 16:21

Ooh lucie, have a great flight!

Is it weird that I'm rather excited about Lucie and MPP meeting in the clinic waiting room the other day?! MPP, when are you off? Might you meet Lucie in the airport?! Glad everything is going well for you both.

I'm sensing a few more BFPs on this thread are just around the corner Smile

Thanks for your thoughts on the ovulation induction. Stealth, you make a good point - however, it's just 4 follicles I have (2 on the right and 2 on the left). Do you still think the same? The clinic wouldn't convert the ovulation induction to iui so I doubt very much they'll convert to IVF. I think I would have to pay too so might just wait until my nhs go in a couple of months and see what happens with this cycle. I've spoken to my OH and we're both comfortable with just going ahead - it would feel too weird to use condoms when we're trying so hard to get pregnant. Oh I'm gonna laugh when my period comes at how worried I was about being pregnant with too many babies!

loopylou1984 · 28/07/2016 17:14

Hi TMI and welcome. No personal experience of clomid here I'm afraid. If you're not ov- ing then I'd say it's definitely worth a try.

Yes Lucie, it's helped a little. My scan is still 12 days away. Seems so long. Hope you had a good flight?

Thanks MPP and Brenna Smile

Banana - ah, well ignore me then. Thought I'd mention it just in case. I'm hoping for your miracle, but know your wonderful doctor will come up with another plan if it doesn't work out.

Mrsren - good news on your tests. When do you expect the SA results?

Star - I'm so sorry your scan didn't work out as you'd hoped. I'm no stranger to cancelled cycles and it just feels so unfair, like you're not even getting a chance.
You say you don't want twins... What about quads? While it's unlikely feels impossible after ttc for so long it could happen. I don't think I'd risk it personally, but can completely understand why you're torn. Sorry that's not very helpful is it Blush

lucieloos · 28/07/2016 17:24

Hello, we've arrived now and relaxing in the hotel! We have a nice free day tomorrow before EC on Saturday. Lovely and warm here with everyone sitting outside restaurants so we are going to go out for a nice meal later.

MPP, I double checked with my doctor today about the orgalutran and he told me no don't take it on trigger day. I think the only time you take it on trigger day is if you have been doing it in the mornings but I do mine in the evenings so he said no need. Good luck with your scan tomorrow. Let us know how you get on.

Star, haha glad you like that MPP and I caught a glance of each other at the clinic. We are fb friends now too Smile MPP flies on Sunday and we fly home different days. I should almost be done here by then so not sure if we will bump into each other. When I had a cancelled IVF cycle I still triggered and dh and I didn't take any precautions so I can understand your thinking. I think it would be highly unlikely for 4 eggs to fertilise, grow to blast and implant having been through the whole IVF process but it's not impossible so the risk is there but you have to do what you feel happy with.

Sammy, those 12 days will have flown by before you know it.

Lucie and mpp - good luck to you both.

I'm camping in a field in Somerset ive been reading alll your updates. Sorry not to respond with personals but just wanted to say I'm here with my Pom poms and best wishes. Xxxxx

MPP81 · 28/07/2016 23:10

Good luck Star! Keep us posted! And haha, yes Lucie and I are fb friends now. Not sure we'll bump into eachother out there as we arrive late Sunday night and have egg collection first thing Monday, but it would be pretty cool!

Lucie, glad you arrived there safely. You keep us posted too, and hope you have a good couple of days! I will no doubt be here in the morning posting my scan results and stressing about one thing or another!

Hi Boris! Thanks for the good luck wishes. Hope you're enjoying the camping! :-)

MrsRen · 29/07/2016 08:25

Good luck to MPP and Lucie over the weekend :-)

SA results should be back next Friday and then the docs appointment is on the Monday. I think if it all comes back good the next step might be to look at my tubes?

In the meantime I've got some pre seed, dandelion tea and red clover tea arriving and I'm drinking a ton of water to try and aid DH little swimmers as I'm coming up to my fertile period.

Anyone every used pre seed before?

lucieloos · 29/07/2016 08:42

Mrs Ren, good luck with the sa result next week. I've used preseed before and the other one but I can't think of the name. They didn't work for us but are worth a try.

Boris, thanks for good luck, have a great time camping.

Hi ladies,

Have had a bit of meltdown. Am so nervous about my FET. The last failed transfer really took it out of me and I realise the last over 2.5 years have pretty much been completely focused on ttc/ivf.

I feel exhausted with it all, have been recently baby bombed (couple weren't even ttc this time last yr) and think the only way I can deal with things is to try to put it to the back of my mind. This is really hard after nearly 2 years on this thread but I'm going to bow out.

Star - may well bump into you at the hospital one day. I'd probably listen to the docs but would be tempting.

Lucie and MPP, will pop by in a few weeks hoping for BFPs. Keeping everything crossed for you both.

Wishing happy healthy pregnancies to our grads and BFPs to everyone else.

Lots of love Trixie xx

lucieloos · 29/07/2016 09:41

Ohhh trixie, I'm so sad you are leaving as we have been together from the start on the 'buses'. I do understand though as it can all get a bit much when you are constantly thinking and talking about things. I hope once you've had a bit of a break you will feel like you can come back and I wish you all the luck in the world with your fet. I know you are going to get there as you are doing absolutely everything you can with your protocol and you will definitely have normal embryos in with those 9 lovely blasts. Take care lovely but please pop back and let us know how you are when you can xx

loopylou1984 · 29/07/2016 10:11

Trixie - I'm sad to see you go too, I think you were the first person I ever spoke to on Mumsnet. I hope you can relax a bit, and being off here helps. But if not, or if you change your mind know that we will welcome you back with open arms. Good luck, and do update us on your progress every so often. Xx

star1980 · 29/07/2016 10:27

Good luck trixie and all the very best for trying to continue with life while ttc and ivfing. I totally understand the need to bow out. I want to thank you for the support you've given me over the last year, you and others have been so wonderful, but you have to look after yourself and do what you need to do to stay sane. Please pop back and let us know when you get your bfp and as others have said you are welcome back any time you need. xx

MPP81 · 29/07/2016 11:56

Trixie, I am so sorry to see you go too, though also totally understand. You know where we are if you need us. I have everything crossed for you and will be thinking of you. xx

Mrsren, good luck with the SA. I've used preseed too, but no luck for us either. It seems to have quite alot of positive reviews though and its worth a go!

Lucie, how is Brno today?

Scan this morning has me a little confused (obviously!). I had 14 follicles today - 2x18mm, 1x17mm, 1x16mm, 1x15mm, 2x14mm, 3x13mm, 2x12mm, 1x11mm and 1x8mm. The lady who did the scan (I didnt have Jodie today, Lucie. I'm surre they said I did on the phone) said that the clinic would likely want me to rescan on monday as 'they're not quite there yet'. Lining was 11.6mm. She also said she could see a small amount of free fluid, said something about OHSS and told me to drink alot more and eat high protein foods. I know I should have asked more questions but I just didnt think. I emailed reprofit the results and my co-ordinator said she has forwarded my email to the doctor to check but to continue with my current plan unless I hear back from her. Do I have anything to worry about here?
