After all my dreading it the dinner was really nice. Almost no baby talk. I think one friend had a word with the others. Feel a bit bad if that's the case but not too bad.

But just got THE CALL from the embryology lab. Cannot believe results came back so quickly. The biopsies only went off to the genetics lab on Wed!

Out of 12 tested, 6 came back as euploid!!

DH and I both wept and wept for joy

Now just really really really really hope one of those is a fighter and will go the distance for 9 months

I just found out my Accupuncture lady is on holiday the week EC is planned. Why did I think anything about this process would go right for me?! Xx

Sammy, sorry about your acupuncture lady. It's never simple is it. Would you be prepared to skip it this cycle and see what happens? Or perhaps she could recommend someone else for you?

As for me, I had my day 10 scan this morning and all is good. Two follicles 15mm and 19mm. Lining 8.9, triple-lined - you ladies have talked about lining before and if I recall over 8mm is good. The Dr said I can trigger whenever suits my schedule so I think I'll do it tonight or tomorrow morning. I usually ov around day 14, so trigger now would make it day 12 - I'm presuming I want to make sure I don't ovulate naturally as that would throw out the timing?
I also asked about timing intercourse given the low count. In short, she said that the sperm results were not bad at all and we shouldn't worry and to time things so that there's sperm ready and waiting when the egg is released. So I think we're settled on twice between trigger and ovulation, roughly 24 hours apart. Feeling really positive right now, I'm going to come crashing down pretty hard in 2 and a half weeks! Must remember that the success rate for this is 30% over 3 months.

Banana, that's amazing news and good to see yet again the stats have proved correct at 50%. I think they were the same for stealth(?) and also for me with my measly 2 to be tested. It gives me some hope that I could potentially have another good one out of the 2 untested that I have and I still have one or 2 more fresh cycles to do yet. Six is an amazing number though and I would feel amazingly relieved with that and that its a matter of when and not if.

Sammy, so annoying about the acupuncture. Can she recommend somebody else or maybe ask your clinic if they use anybody?

Thanks Rebecca - I predictably failed to ask any useful questions, I must write them down next time. He sent us off for more tests as the original tests were so long ago (this process is never ending!) but then he will refer us for IVF and we just need to choose a clinic nearby. He did spring a surprise dildo cam on me which I had not mentally prepared for! The indignity!!

Amazing banana! And yes lucie I was 50% too, so it seems that sometimes statistics do play out despite all of us on this thread always feeling like we're on the wrong side of them. I think we sometimes forget that just because we all have fertility issue, that doesn't mean we have ALL the fertility issues - there's nothing to suggest that any of us would have anything less than average rates of normal eggs for our age, and sure enough that's what's happened.

to everyone else, sorry to hear there are a few people down in the dumps. All the 🍫 and 🍕 (I'm not a 🍰 person) for you.

I had a scan this morning and everything was in order, saw a baby shaped wriggler and heard a strong heartbeat. So pleased and relieved. I had to run straight off to fly to the U.S. for work and spent most of the extremely long flight staring at the scan pic. Starting to dare to believe it's real. So there is hope for us all!!

Sammy, glad you have a back-up acupuncturist. Sorry to suggest skipping it, having spent a grand on acupuncture myself it would be silly to miss a key session - wasn't thinking.

Welcome lemon and glad your appointment went well. I always come away with questions I wish I'd asked, but it'll be fine in the end. Plus the ladies on this thread are v knowledgeable and can fill in some gaps if you need.

Feeling a bit better after a nice relaxing weekend with DH. We did a bit of shopping, a film and lots of nice food. I think one of the hardest parts of this is not knowing why it didn't work. I guess having just turned 35 the stats are 50/50 for me too so the chances are we were just unlucky.

Thanks trixie, we had a lovely anniversary. The stats definitely apply to you too. I think maybe anywhere upwards of around 33-34 so you could very well have just been unlucky as you have a largish number of blasts to work through. So out of the 9 you have frozen you could well have a good few transfers before you get the good one but doesn't mean it's not going to happen x

Exactly Lucie, thinking like that helps. Out of our 4 left from this batch hopefully 2 of them are good and we are planning to transfer 2 so fingers crossed at least 1 sticks. I think I am going to book an endometrial scratch too and then intralipids and acupuncture again - kitchen sink approach!

star exactly, it's likely just bad luck. Your lucky embie is not far away! And kitchen sink is definitely a good idea, just for peace of mind if nothing else.

(When I think that I could have - had I been really unlucky - had TEN failed transfers in a row just because of abnormalities I shudder.)

Cycle 10.
Have had general blood tests, internal check up and DH has had semen check. Nothing came up in either of these. Going for day 21 blood test this month.
So so frustrated 😞😞

Not that much happening with me. I've had a couple of days of positive opks so hoping I might ovulate soon and then I can get my cycles and af back on track ready for July. It's my last week in work next week before holibobs so can't wait for that.

Hi all! I'm afraid I have absolutely no news!

Had my first acupuncture appointment yesterday - she was super nice and I think I'll have to get used to the needles - such an odd sensation!

Also temping this month but bit all over the place... Have had ewcm but no dip or rise in temp to indicate ovulation we are just going to carry on with eod. Can't wait till July 1st for my appointment!

Mbire - I remember that feeling so well. I think 10 months to a year is the hardest ttc time because you're very much still likely to conceive naturally yet you're losing hope enough to be visiting the doctors. It's great that's you're getting your tests started, but fx for a bfp before you need anything further.

Lucie I'm on bcp until the 16th, so another week. It's actually come round really fast! How are you doing? Fx for ov soon.

Maple - glad your acu lady is nice. I find it relaxing most of the time, but did have a VERY painful needle in my wrist 2 weeks ago. It ached all night! That reminds me. I need to book in with this other lady for EC day.

Sammy the first needle on my foot and one on my hand hurt! She did warn me about the tugging feeling but I was like ow! But it did then kind of dull to a weird throbbing! Some I didn't feel at all. At least I know what to expect now!
