Oh Harriet- you poor thing! Hope you're now feeling a bit better from the uti. Try to stay positive too- this could still be your month, you never know. Pickled' idea of yoga is good.

I don't think this is our month- def no signs. The longer this is going on I am really wondering if it's all woth it.

I hope This week calms down for you Harriet and hope you're feeling ok pickled

pickledsausage · 19/06/2017 11:26

When are you due to test starshine? As you say, you just never know. I also had got to that point the month I finally got pregnant, it had been a year since the last mc and I was massively stressed out and ready to give up and then it just happened.

I'm feeling good this week thanks, am having a happy/excited day rather than a terrified one which makes a nice change. Am sure that will change tomorrow which is scan eve.

Starshine1 · 19/06/2017 14:20

Glad you're having a good day pickled- such a difficult time- you are desperate to get that positive and then I am sure, just on a whole roller coaster of emotions. Fx for the scan coming up!

Due to test on Saturday and down as am sure I should feel something by now 7 DPO- so don't think it's worked this month. This will be 3rd cycle on steroids. You just feel so out of control with it don't you. That must have been hard, TTC for a year pickled - I really feel like giving myself a cut off point in terms of time and then just saying that's enough- but don't feel strong enough to do that. Also don't know how I will cope if we had another miscarriage

harrietm87 · 19/06/2017 15:08

starshine my paperwork from the clinic says that pred can mask the symptoms of pregnancy, so I don't think you can say you're out yet?

Question for you and pickled - can I email questions to Mr S? I'm wondering about asking whether I can do a stimulated ovulation next cycle so that we have another chance before DH goes to Zika risk country (and we then have to wait 6 months before trying again).

He's away at the end of July and because I ovulate so late (usually day 20 of a 32/33 day cycle) he will be away for my next FW. If I can ovulate earlier then that would give us one more chance.

Starshine1 · 19/06/2017 15:25

Yes I know Harriet- just really not feeling it 😢. Psychology of all of this is horrible!

Oh gosh Harriet! I can see your concerns! Yes you can- I emailed about Chinese herbs the other week and he responded, so go for it. Hope he comes back with the answer you want or this month did work for you. Also hope work isn't quite so bad his month!

Starshine1 · 19/06/2017 15:25

Sorry I meant this week!( multi tasking whilst at work isn't going well 😉)

pickledsausage · 19/06/2017 15:31

@starshine, absolutely, I thought the 2ww went slowly....the past 9 weeks have been torturous!! And with new worries every day. But if this all works out it will be worth it. If everything is ok tomorrow then I'm going to just allow myself to get excited and stop worrying.

Yes to feeling out of control, and pumping your body full of drugs. It's not much fun but it does seem to work. I think having a cut off is a good idea in theory but when it comes to it we ultimately just keep going as it's what we really want. It's such a horrible journey though and I really do hope you get your BFP ASAP!

@harriet, yes definitely! It's the midwives that will pick it up but they will ask Mr S for response if needed. CRP Clinic or Nadia McEwen or Lorna Garbett . They can take a while to get back to you sometimes though, think it's 48 hours SLA. Have you got the drugs for the ovulation stimulation?

harrietm87 · 21/06/2017 09:28

Thanks so much pickled. Looking at my calendar again it might not be necessary after all - will see when my period shows up.

My uti is clearing up which is helping my mood a lot. And happy that I don't seem to have had any side effects from the pred yet, though it's only day 3!

How are you doing starshine?

Starshine1 · 21/06/2017 18:31

That's good news Harriet! Glad you're not getting any side effects from the pred, I haven't really either. Fx you can get another cycle in before DH goes away- where does he work?

Glad you're doing ok pickled. Have you told people about your pregnancy?

Feeling down,8 dpo and no signs at all so don't think it's worked this month, 3 cycles now. Plus heard from rmc st Mary's that my follow up has been cancelled and rebooked for September! Really annoyed as if we couldn't afford to see mr s, I'd be left in limbo until then! I have asked for the results to be sent to me instead. Just seems wrong you can only get help and support if it's paid for. Sorry rant over- bad day at work, our car has died and not optimistic bout his month.

At least he sun is till shining!

pickledsausage · 21/06/2017 18:32

Glad your uti is clearing up! Hope work is less stressful this week too. I have been so lucky on the pred, main side effect (if you can call it that!) has been increased energy! Just starting to wean now and hoping I don't get side effects from coming off of them!

So have had the 12 week scan, which actually put me at 13+1. Baby looking all good but the umbilical cord isn't attached to the right place
warning graphic pic of placenta etc if you are squeamish
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velamentous_cord_insertion
They seem to think its not too much to worry about but obviously I am!! Just waiting for follow up internal scan to make sure it's not covering the cervix.

Starshine1 · 22/06/2017 06:38

Pickled great news about the dates, but understand your concern about the cord- when is your follow up scan? Fx it's not near the cervix.

Good you're now weaning off the steroids

pickledsausage · 22/06/2017 07:27

Morning @starshine, i got seen straight away after the profs next patient. It's not over the cervix thank goodness!! I'm still worried the baby is going to come unattached but for now trying to focus on the positives - baby is there, live, kicking and everything else is developing text book. The prof was great as well, explained everything so clearly. I hope you get to meet him very soon!!

Pic attached of the scan. Can't quite believe it's mine. But I do feel like I can't relax yet, I was going to start buying a few bits etc but feel like I should wait for 20 weeks now. Just in case.

How are you doing?xx

Immune/Natural Killer Cell treatment for those ttc or pregnant. (AKA the 19th pred thread!)
pickledsausage · 22/06/2017 07:38

Sorry @starshine, I completely missed your post yday evening! I'm sorry you're feeling down, I know it's so crappy the disappointment every month. Esp when you know you're taking all the right steps :( but you are only 8 dpo, I know it's easier to protect yourself sometimes but you're not out just yet xx

Starshine1 · 22/06/2017 08:17

Pickledsausage that is good news!! I don't blame you for not being able to relax- but everything is looking positive! Keep looking for the next hurdle to get over and soon enough you'll be at the end with your lovely baby, I am sure.

I know there is still time, just am really waivering as to whether I can keep doing this and what if it does all end badly again if it does happen. I know we all have had Those fears, but I just am not sure that I can take another blow, but still deprately want another baby- definitely a bad week this week!

harrietm87 · 22/06/2017 17:54

Yay pickled great news. You must be so relieved. I can't imagine ever feeling relaxed about a pregnancy so totally sympathise with your worries.

And also with yours starshine - hope you are feeling a bit better now.

I had a good and surprising turn of events last night. I had really strong left sided cramps during the day so did an opk on a whim and it was a really strong positive. And again this morning. No idea how/why - either I've ovulated twice or it was delayed cos of all the stress (probs the latter), so I get another try. Luckily we had actually had sex for fun (!) on Tuesday night, so did again last night and will go for tonight as well so should be well covered hopefully.

It does mean I've been taking pred since before ovulation. Oops. I checked with the office and the advice is to take only for 10 days in total, which means I'll have to stop taking it before I could test positive if we are lucky enough to conceive, but hopefully won't make too much of a difference.

Samot · 23/06/2017 00:42

Hello ladies wondering if I can join in

age-37
NTNP - cycle 1 (following illness)
Approx 8/9 DPO
CD26
DD1 - 4 years old
DD2 - 21 months old

I started having thyroid issues last year - and have been diagnosed with Graves disease....finally about 6 weeks ago my levels have come down to within normal range...TTC has been off the agenda all that time before and we are ntnp currently - we dtd around and after Ov this month so I'm feeling a little bit excited and hopeful for the first time in many months.

I know I'm dreaming and it's likely that my body is still in recovery from being in a thyro- toxic state - but you know sometimes miracles happen... so we will see

I'll be testing on Monday

Fingers and toes crossed for you all x

harrietm87 · 23/06/2017 18:03

Hi samot welcome! Are you on pred or just thyroid treatment?

I have hashimotos so on thyroxine, and recently diagnosed with high NK cells too after 3 early losses.

Good luck testing on mon!

Starshine1 · 23/06/2017 18:58

That's great news Harriet! Fingers crossed!!!

Hi samot, welcome to the thread.

I have been feeling awful last few days- shattered, nauseas and really down- know I am not pregnant and now discovered that they're all possible side effect of the progesterone -mr s suggested I take them from day 15-25 due to a scan I'd had - but with the way I have been, next month I am not sure I can- it's felt like the end of the world not being pregnant his month - but the realistic side of me knows that's not true!

harrietm87 · 25/06/2017 10:26

starshine how are you doing? Have you tested yet? Hope you're feeling a bit better.

I think I'm 3dpo today in light of my crazy delayed ovulation, so still another week to wait. I hate how much waiting is involved in ttc - feel like I can't actually live my life!

Starshine1 · 25/06/2017 15:33

BFN here- no AF yet but should be today or tomorrow. Feeling ok now it's nearly the next cycle thanks Harriet.

What a crazy cycle for you! Fx to his is your month x

harrietm87 · 25/06/2017 20:48

Oh no starshine sorry for bfn. If you are def out this month then I hope AF comes quickly so you can move on. You have short cycles don't you? So next FW will come round before you know it.

I've been having left sided pain on and off since ovulation. It's way too early to be implantation cramping so now starting to worry something could be wrong...argh always a worry!

Starshine1 · 26/06/2017 12:29

Thanks Harriet- why is there always something to worry about! Hope it's isn't for you and that things are ok! Fx for this cycle. Af started today so onwards and upwards! 😀

Hope you're doing ok pickled and you poppy?

harrietm87 · 26/06/2017 13:33

Oh starshine so sorry you're out. But yes, absolutely onwards and upwards.

samot were you testing today?

Our little thread seems to have gone a bit quiet. Hope @PoppyJ1 @jaffacakes16 and @Hopeful07 are all doing well.

I've been feeling SO hungry over the last couple of days, which must be the pred. Uh oh! Also finding it really hard to concentrate at work, though that could just be the nice weather!

jaffacakes16 · 26/06/2017 13:38

All is good with me thanks Harriet, almost 20 weeks and weaned off most of my drugs. Still doesn't feel real yet!

Starshine1 · 26/06/2017 18:03

Wow jaffacakes! That's great news! Almost half way through!

I found it difficult to concentrate too Harriet - didn't actually put it down to the steroids- but could have been I guess - although not on them now and still now concentrating- think for me it's just the weather, but I might blame the meds 😀
