Original relaxed thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2537105-relaxed-ttc-feb-march-april-2016

Hi all, thought I would start a new thread before we capped the earlier one. Here's hoping for more laid back BFPs and a bit of OT chat.

Everyone welcome, waiting to try, TTC, not preventing, being hopeful, and trying not to flip the fck out squinting at lines on sticks.

hey guys!

So I'm 31 years old, married for nearly 6years to DH, and starting TTC journey for the first time!

we "started" last month, but DTD a few days before AF after Fertile window so obviously didn't work out. Although I was aware, the emotions I felt getting AF was terrible, I even had to have a little cry at work! I had worked myself up so much thinking "what if?".. so much for "relaxed" lol! i'm determined to not let myself get obsessive about all of this (she says checking ovulation calendar dates repeatedly...)

Although it feels right for me and for us at this point in our lives, there is a part of me scared sh!tless! i'm sure thats natural. I am overweight trying to lose weight - have lost nearly 3 stone so far, but have more to go (doing weight watchers - badly!) i've been trying to lose weight for years, and am so much more healthier than i have ever been... and reached a point that I'm sick of putting my life "on hold" for that elusive "goal weight" ! i'm still going to continue with my healthy eating lifestyle and keep going even when/if i'm pregnant and just deal with it i think! is anyone else in the same boat as me?

chelle792 · 26/04/2016 10:40

wispa how long is yours away for? Mine is still faffing around at home so hasn't actually left yet Hmm he's going to my nan's for the week to do some decorating for her so I'm a little jealous as she's really showing her age at the moment and I just want to be with her

wispaxmas · 26/04/2016 10:45

Poshpiggy, it's totally normal to feel like that and to be scared out of your mind. But it'll be fine, I promise! Life will never be the same, but different isn't bad!

Chelle, mine goes away Mon/Tues-Thurs most weeks to Paris for work!

Hi everyone sorry I've not been around, Internet broke and is used all my data.
Cd 13 and I think I might be getting ovulation pains but not completely sure. Does anyone get them here what are yours like?

sparkle789 · 26/04/2016 12:12

Off to read what I've missed now.

GummyBunting · 26/04/2016 13:58

Boo AF has arrived.
Although I didn't expect to get pregnant first month, I'm a bit gutted not to be super fertile. My DM always said she 'just had to look at a bloke and get pregnant' and warned me never to take any chances. I feel like she gave me false hopes!

SunnyDays1987 · 26/04/2016 14:38

Sorry AF has arrived Gummy couldn't help but laugh at your mum giving you false hope though! Second cycle would still be pretty impressive I think so fingers crossed!

TheresaMarie55 · 26/04/2016 14:40

Boo for AF coming gummy. I'm due on Monday and even though I've been super calm up to now the wait is dragging a little. Been keeping busy and had a big sort out in the kids room, three bin bags of toys gone! One for the bin and two for charity. They now have a nice amount. Isn't it weird how our brains work, I'm 80% sure we missed our window but still thinking of testing around Saturday 'just in case'. Crazy baby mind!

sparkle789 · 26/04/2016 14:49

Sorry af arrived gummy

chelle792 · 26/04/2016 14:49

gummy gutted af has arrived.

sparkle I get awful ovulation symptoms. Really bad cramp for about a week. Haven't really had it this month though so it'll be a miracle if I am pregnant!

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 26/04/2016 18:14

Sorry that AF arrived gummy
It's starting to look like I'll be out this month soon too as I've had mild cramps on and off today that feel unmistakeably like AF's arrival. It's not due until Friday but I'm preparing myself for it now so it's not too much of a surprise.

Fingerscrossedxx · 26/04/2016 18:18

Hope everyone is doing well. I'm still in my 2ww, tested 11DPO and 13DPO but got BFN both times. AF is due today and I'm crossing my fingers as well as toes hoping it won't come!

TMI alert:
My periods are not particularly regular (usually 34-36 days but sometimes longer), so my "DPO" calculations are abit approximated. Any of you familiar with egg white CM? I don't usually check my CM but that day I got so much that I couldn't not notice. If I got egg white CM 2 Saturday's ago, I imagine I would be fertile + or - 2 or 3 days? So it would be approx DPO 14 today?

Finger crossed for everyone ttc to get their BFP soon xxx

wispaxmas · 26/04/2016 19:47

Fingerscrossed, that sounds about right!

Fingerscrossedxx · 27/04/2016 08:15

Tested again this morning (AF was due yesterday), still a BFN. Fingers crossed my AF won't come and if I test few days later I'll see two lines. Argh. I've waited more than two weeks!

Fingerscrossedxx · 27/04/2016 08:16

(Are others on this thread more relaxed? I need to relax...)

happysunshineandrainbows · 27/04/2016 10:14

I need to relax!!

TheresaMarie55 · 27/04/2016 10:43

I'm struggling to relax now to Confused . Due to test in five days and its dragging even though I'm keeping busy! X

TryingToStayRational · 27/04/2016 10:57

If we were truly relaxed we wouldn't be on here! I'm feeling fairly relaxed at the moment, mainly cos I'm pretty sure we missed the egg this time, so I'm in the "oh well, can't do anything about it now, whatever" kinda mindset. I'm sure I will lose the plot again in a week or so when the old PMS hormone-fest begins and I could cry at the sight of a fluffy kitten, but there we are! Cake to all tww-ers Smile

wispaxmas · 27/04/2016 12:19

Hah! My version of 'relaxed' is knowing what's going on and not psyching myself up that I'm pregnant during the TWW and just keeping in mind that statistically it takes a while and might not happen.

I still temp and track my cycle and will probably test early Grin

OP posts:
jennymac31 · 27/04/2016 12:20

I'm not feeling relaxed at all and have ages to go before I can do any test. Got a bit emotional about it yesterday and don't really know how I'm going to be able to relax. TTC and babies is all I'm thinking about at the moment.

jennymac31 · 27/04/2016 12:22

Doesn't help that I keep seeing pregnant ladies wherever I go. Keep having flashbacks of how I looked when I was pregnant with dd and daydreaming about how I would look with a baby bump this time round. Terrible I know!

happysunshineandrainbows · 27/04/2016 12:44

I writing packing lists for weekends away and our holiday since I'm due on today and I need distracting :-(

chelle792 · 27/04/2016 15:36

My version of relaxed is not doing any ovulation tests! I've just bought two Superdrug hpt's for tomorrow morning and sweeties because I feel.so sick! But sickness for me is often a pre af symptom anyway! I've done an ic and possibly if I squint can see a shadow but not enough to tell if I'm imagining it or not

Fingerscrossedxx · 27/04/2016 16:59

Yeah if we are truly relaxed we won't be on here Hmm

I haven't done any ovulation test nor taken any temperature, just that I happened to see egg white CM when j wiped after I wee and we happened to have DTD the day before and the day after. So I was feeling quite hopeful... If I don't get it this time it might never happen... :(

BuffaloCustardbath · 27/04/2016 17:48

Gutted AF arrived Gummy, fingers crossed for next month!!

CD26 here, 11DPO and I haven't caved and tested yet! I've thought about it multiple times every day since 8DPO but I only have a Clearblue test and I believe they're not as sensitive as others so I don't want to waste it. The time is dragging, I just want to know!!
