Thread for anyone TTC for over ten months. Please feel free to join us!

Took the liberty of starting a new thread (with what is obviously a brilliant piece of rhyme!) as I assume everyone else is sleeping peacefully right now :)

Lucie your not going to MPPs wedding are you?!

We will be starting me on the pill as soon as AF arrives. I feel like she's imminent, but slightly concerned as the clinic have said to let them know if it's not started by Thursday. I'm not sure if they would say they can't fit me in or something. Confused Xx

JustTrixie · 23/05/2016 21:07

I'm so sorry Bean Flowers it's such a horrible thing to go through. I hope you are indulging in some Wine

Sammy, my dose was reduced from 150 to 112 halfway through stimming this cycle and I had a much easier time of it compared to last time. Also i was on the pill for a few weeks before and no probs. Hopefully you avoid the sickness this time.

MPP like Stealth says you'll have a great day even if it rains. I'm sure it's supposed to be lucky for it to rain on your wedding day.

I'm doing ok thanks Lucie. We had good news from the hospital today. They ended up freezing 4 blasts in total yesterday. Another had made blast today but was poor quality and the other 4 stopped growing. I woke up with bad cramping in the middle of the night. Would be too early for implantation so not sure what it was. The Dr did say my ovaries were pretty swollen yesterday so could still be after effects from collection I guess.

Haha, I was going to say the same as Sammy about you going to MPPs wedding Lucie. I really hope your hcg levels have gone down.

Wow, sounds like you're in for a good haul Banana. Very exciting!

lucieloos · 23/05/2016 21:07

Ohh haha I'm not sure Sammy! Wouldn't that be funny if it was mpps. Uhhh come to think of it we live in the same area too Shock Hope af turns up for you soon. I'm sure they wouldn't postpone you now.

Itsme247 · 23/05/2016 21:13

Oh Bean I'm so sorry :( it's awful, take care of yourself xx

Brenna24 · 23/05/2016 23:22

I am so sorry Bean. It is a shitty horrible thing to go through. HAve some Wine and Chocolate from me too.

Brilliant news Banana.

I went round to my friends tonight to give my godson his birthday presents. Apparently I did good with the present and he spent ages with it before getting me to time him playing keepy-uppy with a balloon and reading his bedtime story. We had a good laugh.

BorisIsBack · 24/05/2016 06:35

Bean - I'm so sorry big hugs to you lovely. Xxx

Trixie I've got everything tightly crossed for you.

maplebaby · 24/05/2016 08:49

Brenna I was like Shock at the £199 top too!!

Sammy I know I was really pleased! Not done anything differently either - I wonder if it's just taking me ages after coming off the pill to go back to "normal" (although nowhere near like how they used to be before pill and the spotting is def not normal!)

MPP omg less than a week so exciting!! Don't worry about the weather you honestly don't notice / care on the day! I was religiously looking at the forecast before mine but on the day couldn't care less that it was rainy!

Bean CakeFlowers so sorry, hugs. Hope you are looking after yourself and indulging in lots of Wine there's nothing any of us can say to make it any better but we are all here for you.

Banana 25 follicles and 11.1mm lining Shock go you! Good luck for Thursday!

Lucie fingers crossed for Wednesday! Hope it's good news.

beanhunter · 24/05/2016 09:04

Great news banana.

I'm kind of relieved it's over. I knew it was so now it's confirmed. At least I'm done with pessaries.

Mpp it pissed it down all day on my wedding day. It was still awesome.

Brenna24 · 24/05/2016 14:28

I have broken DH with his anniversary present. Grin I bought him a giant leg of serrano ham from Lidl as he always looks at it when we go in. He shot out of bed, through to the kitchen with it and started slicing some for breakfast. He has put his back out slicing it and can't move now.

bananafish81 · 24/05/2016 16:24

Sammy the pill shouldn’t make any difference to OHSS, as it can be used with short protocol as well - as you say the purpose of the pill is just to enable scheduling. It was the suprecur that I was curious about, as generally an antagonist (short) protocol is less risky for OHSS than a long agonist (down regulation) protocol

It’s fresh in my mind just because I was reading about OHSS and signs & symptoms etc, just in case (given the extra large follie count), and read an HFEA report on minimising OHSS

www.hfea.gov.uk/docs/OHSS_UPDATED_Report_from_Adam_Balen_2008.pdf

Top of page 5 explains why using agonists like Suprecur (buserelin) increases the risk of OHSS - my Dr only uses short protocol for anyone at risk of over stimulating, as Cetrotide enables you to slam the brakes on very quickly, whereas with long protocol you’ve already suppressed everything so there’s no additional brake you can put on. With a short protocol you can also then eliminate the risk of OHSS completely if needed with a buserelin trigger rather than an hCG trigger - no hCG means no OHSS can possibly occur. If you’re already using buserelin as part of the protocol, then you can only trigger with hCG.

I’m doing OK so we’re going to trigger with Ovitrelle (hCG) but obv if I were looking iffy we could swap the trigger if needed.

Lining wise, I think the pregnancy has helped, insofar as I had 2 months of progynova, and that should have upregulated the sleepy oestrogen receptors in my endometrium - my Dr said cumulative oestrogen exposure would help to wake them up, so I’m hoping that’s what it’s done. Also the cumulative effect of the stims is waking up my ovaries to produce more oestrogen - my Dr got practically giddy that I’d produced any CM at all. So I think my body is learning, as the hormones (rather than the pregnancy) are kicking it into gear.

lucie everything crossed for your bloods tomorrow - and hope you have a fab time at mpp’s wedding Grin

trixie amazing news on 4 frosties!! That’s spectacular. Oh and I had cramping the day after ET - think maybe just slight irritation from the catheter. It went away - I did get cramping a few days later which did turn out to be mythical implantation cramping, but the post ET cramping was def just that

Happy anniversary Brenna - hope DH is recovering from his tête-à-tête with the ham!

Maple brilliant news about the AF - the pill totally has so much to answer for as far as lining is concerned Angry

bean all the hugs. And definitely all the Wine this evening

xx

lucieloos · 24/05/2016 16:56

Trixie, that's great news about the frosties! I wouldn't say it's too early for implantation either. When you have a blast transferred it normally starts to implant in a couple of days. I had the same really bad cramps in the night when mine implanted. I really have a good feeling for you this time.

Sammy / Banana, maybe Sammy is doing short flare protocol with suprecur? I did this once and there was no suppression beforehand, the suprecur was started alongside stimms? I agree Sammy won't be able to use buserelin trigger though and only Ovitrelle.

bananafish81 · 24/05/2016 17:02

I did wonder about that- although flare is only really for poor responders, so seemed unlikely that anyone who'd previously risked OHSS was likely to be a poor responder? I'm so nosy when it comes to protocols!! Wink

lucieloos · 24/05/2016 17:15

Yes me to banana. I know the clinic I use in the uk starts most of its patients on short flare regardless of ovarian reserve.

bananafish81 · 24/05/2016 18:09

PS look at the amazing socks bean sent me for EC

http://www.sockittome.com/women/knee-socks-women/unicorn-vs.-narwhal.html

Knee high unicorn vs narwhal!!! I actually can't wait to wear these bad boys Grin

maplebaby · 24/05/2016 18:27

Brenna haha I'm sure the ham was worth it though!! Happy anniversary!

Banana I'm sure it's the pill's fault too! Pretty sure it's made everything lazy! There's no way it couldn't affect you after so long of hormones pumped in! And those socks are amaze!

lucieloos · 24/05/2016 18:28

Aww wow they are amazing banana I love them! We have a bit of a sock thing going on with the ladies at my clinic on our fb group and we all sent each other some and we wear them to our transfers for luck and to give the doctor a chuckle. I have a cute lil fox on mine lol.

beanhunter · 24/05/2016 18:40

I'm glad you liked the socks. I'm now convinced maybe my cycle was pants because they wouldn't let me wear my caped socks for ec. At least that way I can blame them!
Right off to get child to bed and then order curry and open wine.
Good luck with trigger banana.
Trixie - that's brill news about Frosties.

Hi to everyone else x

loopylou1984 · 24/05/2016 18:48

banana and Lucie - I will be on short protocol starting super it and menopur within a day of each other (at least that's what happened last time), with ovitrelle as my trigger. To be honest I'm a bit clueless about different protocols and didn't actually realise there was any other type of short protocol!

banana and bean - love the socks!!

Still no AF. I'm trying not to panic. 2 more days until it's a problem and I feel like it's about to start... Just hurry up!!! Xx

loopylou1984 · 24/05/2016 18:49

Oh and trixie congratulations on the blasts!! Xx

bananafish81 · 24/05/2016 19:08

Aha OK sammy interesting!! That's used by a lot of clinics as a poor responder protocol - as it can be a bit unpredictable if you're a normal or high responder, as the initial flare from the Suprecur can send your ovaries off like rockets.

Normally short protocol is a Cetrotide/Orgalutran protocol (short antagonist) - flare (short agonist) is less commonly used so short protocol is usually used as shorthand (no pun intended!) for antagonist protocol

AF never frigging turns up when you want it to! Tempt law of sod with white knickers and no liner.....?!

star1980 · 24/05/2016 19:20

Congratulations on th Frosties Trixie!

Also, I'm so amazed at the knowledge on this group - you guys are pretty awesome!

Banana, congrats on the follies and the lining!!! Grin and very best of luck for egg collection Thursday - hope you get a wonderful haul. It really und like pregnancy has reset your body somehow! Are you slightly tempted to give trying naturally a go for a few months?? Can't remember how long you'd been trying already as know you were DOR o maybe that's why you were straight onto treatment.

Lucie, you are absolutely due a good blood result tomorrow. Have everything crossed for you.

loopylou1984 · 24/05/2016 19:21

Hmm... Wonder why I'm on it then. We'll see how this cycle goes but if we have no luck then I'll ask why we're on this protocol. Just changed in to some shite knickers! Lol.

How are you feeling about EC? Xx

loopylou1984 · 24/05/2016 20:04

*white knickers! The other type would be gross!

loopylou1984 · 25/05/2016 07:24

It didn't work, still no AF Sad

star1980 · 25/05/2016 07:47

How late are you Sammy? Could it be worth testing?
