Thread for anyone TTC for over ten months. Please feel free to join us!

Took the liberty of starting a new thread (with what is obviously a brilliant piece of rhyme!) as I assume everyone else is sleeping peacefully right now :)

Itsme I'm so sorry. Lots of love to you. Flowers

loopylou1984 · 21/05/2016 16:07

My meds all arrived this morning in their giant box! lol. I have a different trigger, and different progesterone this time. The progesterone says 'may cause drowsiness, if so do not drive or operate machinery' (!)

Just waiting on AF then I'll start the microgynon. Xx

Brenna24 · 21/05/2016 17:22

I am so sorry Itsme. Have a big, unmumsnetty hug from me. It really sucks doesn't it? At least with the IVF you will be monitored and given stuff that will help you hold on to it, plus they will only put the best quality ones back. Hopefully that will give you the extra push you need.

maplebaby · 22/05/2016 07:52

Itsme I'm so sorry Flowers hugs. Thinking of you and take care of yourself xx

loopylou1984 · 22/05/2016 09:12

Woke up with really sore boobs this morning so stupidly did a test. BFN of course. With the merest hint of a grey evaporate line. Gah! Why do I do it to myself???? X

JustTrixie · 22/05/2016 13:07

I'm officially PUPO!! Eek!

lucieloos · 22/05/2016 13:41

Eekk Trixie that's great news! What did you have put back and how many frosties?

Sammy, sorry it never gets any easier does it. I've given up naturally now so I've stopped thinking about it each month.

Itsme, hope you're ok x

Itsme247 · 22/05/2016 14:08

Congrats Trixie! I am rooting for you!

Thanks all for your messages, I am OK I am pleased it was a weekend and could keep busy... My garden now looks very healthy indeed!

BorisIsBack · 22/05/2016 15:01

Trixie - congrats! That's so exciting :)

Sammy sorry for the bfn - they hurt so much each time. Flowers

JustTrixie · 22/05/2016 15:46

Lucie, I have a 5aa on board and we have 2 blasts being frozen today. As per usual I wasn't very good at getting enough detail about the others. There are seven left but sounds like at least half of them aren't good enough to freeze. I think we'll get a call tomorrow to let us know if any others are suitable for freezing. Good news is that if this doesn't work Dr says we only have to wait a month for our FET.
Had acupuncture before and after which was great and transfer was smooth. Just been for lunch now resting and watching Friends. Was feeling really low yesterday and couldn't stop thinking about all the reasons it may not work. Hopefully have it all out of my system now though.

Sorry about the bfn Sammy. When is AF due?

Gardening is very therapeutic Itsme, glad you are feeling ok. Not long at all until you're getting started with your ivf.

Less than a week until you're a married woman MPP, May Bank holiday sounds like such a lovely time to get married.

Big waves to everyone else.

beanhunter · 22/05/2016 15:58

MPP I got married on a bank holiday weekend. A certain banana may have attended our wedding....

loopylou1984 · 22/05/2016 16:44

Week Trixie, congrats and good luck for the remaining embies. Hopefully a couple more will make it to freeze, but if not 2 in reserve is still pretty good!

Lucie - I have stopped naturally ttc too really. It was just the sudden sore boobs this morning that made me test. AF like cramps now though so coupled with the bfn in pretty sure I haven't done the magical ironidif the last cycle before IVF!

Boris. AF is due tomorrow ish. Pretty sure she's on her way too.

Gardening sounds lovely it's me. I used to love my garden, but since getting the puppy it's not doing so well!

Waves to everyone else Smile

bananafish81 · 22/05/2016 17:21

Amazing news trixie - absolutely fantastic result! Hoping the next 9 days flies by

Big hugs sammy - best stay away from that heavy machinery? What protocol & stims are you going to be on?

Gardening sounds just lovely itsme - hope you're hanging in there

Thinking of you bean

On phone so can't scroll back but

I can definitely feel my ovaries are making their presence known - hoping that means things are cooking nicely down there!

maplebaby · 22/05/2016 18:10

Sammy honestly I did a test on Friday too (day 8 of brown spotting) but bfn of course - I KNEW it meant AF was imminent but I think there is always that tiniest bit of hope / what if.

Trixie congrats! Fab news!

Itsme gardening sounds lovely, I've been painting the fences - very boring.

AF started yesterday - actually a bit heavier than normal which (despite the spotting) I was pleased about as usually they are so light!

Brenna24 · 22/05/2016 18:43

So sorry Sammy Sad

Grin yay Trixie.

I went out shopping for a dress for next weekend. I failed to find a dress but did bump into someone I had lost touch with, had coffee with her, got her number and am going to set up an outing with her and another friend she had lost touch with who I see regularly. I did find a lovely top for £199 in a charity shop and then a friend texted me to say she had found a dress she thought might work for me. Job done. For £5 instead of £50.

loopylou1984 · 22/05/2016 21:20

Banana - I know right... No more driving cranes for me! Lol.
I'm on microgynon for 23 days then it's almost exactly the same protocol as last time just with lower stims. Suprecur and menopur. Stims at 112 instead of 150. Then ovatrille as the trigger instead of pregnyl.
When is your next scan?

maple - who would have thought we'd ever be wishing for heavier periods hey?!
Gah, the glimmer of hope is the worst!

brenna - I assume hope that top was £1.99 rather than £199! Lol.
Sounds like you got a bargain!! Xx

Brenna24 · 22/05/2016 23:31

ROFL. Yes, £1.99. A nice Next one. Looks hardly worn. Total bargain. DH loves it.

star1980 · 22/05/2016 23:49

Congratulations trixie! That is great!! I have everything crossed for you for a speedy, stress-free tww and a bfp at the end of it. xxx

MPP81 · 23/05/2016 00:34

Congrats on being PUPO Trixie! Everything crossed for you!

Sammy, sorry for the bfn. I hate the unexpected, unusual symptoms that give hope. At least you have your meds and will be good to go soon?

Itsme, still thinking of you. Hope you are OK. Flowers

Brenna, Grin about the £199 top! I wondered what kind of charity shops you frequent! Love a bargain, and I bet it looks fab!

AFM, I'm in a panicky whirlwind that is unrelated to ttc for a change! Still frantically looking for a house (have to be out of outs 3 weeks after honeymoon) and it's looking likely we'll be spending the first few months of married life living with my mother! Exam stress has firmly taken hold. My memory is shocking, and I think I'd rather write 600 James joyce essays right now. However, silver lining is, as Trixie said, wedding is less than a week away! I'm so bloody excited! Bean, we didn't choose a bank holiday weekend on purpose but now I'm so glad it's on one. It seems to have worked out much better for our family who live further away. The weather forecast is quite literally the only cloud on the horizon. Current evidence points to rain, but I'm sure it'll be fab regardless.

Hope everyone else is OK! Grin

Congrats trixie!

And oooooh exciting MPP! You will have the best day regardless of the weather - enjoy every minute of it!

brenna nice bargain hunting

beanhunter · 23/05/2016 13:58

I'm out. Technically otd is tomorrow with a 25iu test but the SuperDrug 10iu was neg this am so I know there's no way it'll be positive. Gutted.

bananafish81 · 23/05/2016 19:08

bean massive, sloppy hugs lovely. I shan’t offer any platitudes, cos it’s properly shit and no mistake. Hope you can have lots of Wine and Chocolate, and will deliver extra hugs in person hopefully soon. Thinking of you.

Sammy interesting that they’ve got you on long protocol - didn’t you get OHSS last time, or am I misremembering it? Ironically the problem we didn’t think I’d ever have was risking hyperstimulation, but that’s why the Dr put me on short protocol again, to minimise the risk of OHSS (except mild stims to minimise over-response vs high stims last time as a poor responder). Hope they’re going to be keeping a close eye on you. Will you be trying for a fresh transfer (all being well)?

brenna love a good bargain! Good luck for your appointment, is that this week? How are you feeling?

Mpp ah, it’ll be alright on the night, as the saying goes. Excited for you! Where are you off to on your honeymoon?

lucie hoping those levels are behaving themselves

Scan this morning showed 25 measurable follicles Shock - I’m triggering tomorrow for EC on Thu. Coasting tonight and tomorrow though, no stims at all, to hopefully get those eggs perfectly cooked. Largest ones are 20mm so can give the smaller ones an extra day to try and catch up without risking them over maturing (hopefully!)

And ridiculously, my lining is 11.1mm!! Now, that’s not a ‘true’ measurement, as there’s still some old blood from the miscarriage - but it’s definitely growing all by itself, so hopefully on track to have a proper period and a damn good clear out, so that we can crack on with a FET next cycle, all being well…

stealthbanana · 23/05/2016 19:30

Oh bean. Am so so sorry to hear this. No words, but get the manshape to look after you. And wine & cheese as well as general gnashing of teeth and upset. So shit and you guys did not deserve for this curveball. Big hugs xxx

Yay banana, what a great haul.

loopylou1984 · 23/05/2016 19:59

Bean - I'm so sorry. As banana said, nothing we can say but know that we understand how you feel, and are happy to be a shoulder to cry on or an ear to rant to!

MPP - your wedding is so close! How exciting! You'll have an amazing day whatever the weather!

Banana - I did get OHSS. My stims are lower this time though, I think the pill is more about timing it correctly to fit in with the clinic. Am I missing something, does bring on the pill first increase my OHSS risk?
The plan is a fresh transfer yes, providing I'm healthy enough this time. I am scared I have to admit. I can't imagine feeling as terrible as I did before and surviving again! 11.1mm????? What did you do?! Tell me your secret! Shock
Seriously though, do you think your body has learnt from being pregnant before? Xx

lucieloos · 23/05/2016 20:04

Bean, I'm so sorry, I remember when my first transfer failed. It hit me really hard and I felt down for a good while but I did get better and you will too and will gain strength ready for another try.

Banana, amazing news on the follicles. Hoping for a mega EC for you.

Trixie, how are you doing? Did they manage to freeze any more blasts today?

Sammy, how much longer until you start?

MPP, wow not long until the big day! Hope you have an amazing day and enjoy your honeymoon.

Not much news from me. Going back to hospital on Wednesday for my next lot of bloods. No idea what to expect. Really hope they have dropped again. We are going to a wedding this weekend so have booked Friday off work and are spending 2 nights in a posh hotel on the coast. I'm really looking forward to getting away with DH and enjoying a good wedding too.
