Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount!

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kats stats I am resident piss stick queen and if you don't test, you get a Starky's Star

When you post stats, add your predicted test/af date. We are currently running at about 49% pregnant with the grads thread over in ante-natal which we all hope to join soon.

WE SHALL WIN IN THE GAME OF SPERM MEETS EGG! IT WILL HAPPEN!

ski I can see a faint line. My recommendation would be to buy a FRER and then test tomorrow or fri if you can wait with FMU and I promise you I do not have shares in FRER

twinkydink · 06/04/2016 08:01

Kwick if I wait till Friday which is when AF is due would you still test with FRER or would a bog standard test do it? I have a tesco cheapie and a CB dating digital (which I don't want to do until I get a line on another one)

SkiAngel · 06/04/2016 08:08

Thanks everyone! It is really faint, so I'm definitely not getting excited yet. I wasn't planning on testing until tomorrow but once you have the tests there, it's very hard to resist! Lol

kwick I'll have a look at where I can get some FRER for Friday Smile

Evergreen17 · 06/04/2016 08:22

Ski i see a line and I dont think 2 minutes would make that invalid' Grin

Feefeefs · 06/04/2016 08:24

Thanks twinky!

The clear blue test did the trick and DH was hyper giddy and excited when he got home last night! feeling happier myself now it was getting to me.

I can see a second line ski totally recommend the clear blue digital ones now!!

Ni I am now convinced I must have ovulated later than I thought despite he positive opk, maybe you did too? AF staying away can only be a good thing

twinkydink · 06/04/2016 08:36

Ni when was AF due? Have you done any tests?

Am definitely going to try opking next cycle if AF arrives this week. I really wish I was one of those women in tune with my body so I could notice symptoms but I'm starting to think I just don't really get any symptoms! I've never had bad AF cramps, they literally last an hour and that's only when she arrives!

God I hate this TWW, I was so chilled last week but the last two days I've been reading anything and everything about TTC!

Ni4444 · 06/04/2016 08:40

AF was due Mon Twink. Did opk and Internet cheapie pregnancy test this morning...both negative! Temp is even lower today...Maybe progesterone levels were just low this cycle so lots of low temps?!

Kwick709 · 06/04/2016 08:41

I would always say FRER! That said am going to try and get one of those tests that says how many weeks just as additional reassurance!

twinkydink · 06/04/2016 10:46

Fingers are crossed for you Ni I don't know anything about temping so I'm not help to you there!! My fingers are crossed for you though!

SuchaJem · 06/04/2016 11:50

I love opks twinky - I feel like I'd be flying blind without them now. It's reassuring seeing something visual and definite so you know things are happening as they should be and when to time DTD.

ni!! Fingers crossed for you! Ignore stupid ics what do they know!

Day 14 for me and lots of EWCM - the epo has made a noticeable difference for me this cycle and I'm just taking 1000mg. Will definitely keep this up. Just returning from an overnight spa break with DH to celebrate our wedding anniversary so hoping some of the relaxing spa vibes will have helped eggo and Doreen along. No positive OPK yet...

twinkydink · 06/04/2016 11:57

Yes I definitely want to do it next cycle just so I know I am actually ovulating! Potentially thinking about epo as well, am I right in thinking you only take it up to ovulation?

SuchaJem · 06/04/2016 11:59

Oh yeah had forgotten about that bit! Will have to remember to stop this week :)

LovelyFishy · 06/04/2016 13:17

I had a bit of a reality check the other day. Found out someone at work was pregnant and had a mini grumble/sulk to myself (the whole why isn't it me yet, etc) then later found out they'd been trying for 3 years. Makes my 8 months seem not so bad by comparison.

Opk test is very nearly as dark as the control line this morning, time to see if I can interest DH in dtd!

SuchaJem · 06/04/2016 13:33

Just got a positive OPK I think. Only day 14 though so I wonder if it could get even darker tomorrow?

We DTD this morning but DH has gone to work now and gets back Friday. So we will do it again Friday even as soon as I get home from work. Is that enough? I feel awful about missing DTD tomorrow :(

LovelyFishy · 06/04/2016 13:36

Positive opk just means ovulation is going to happen soon right? I think there's a 24 hour window around a positive for egg being released. And you got one in today which is good!

SuchaJem · 06/04/2016 13:41

Yes so I guess tomorrow would be the best time to DTD Sad and DH is in sodding China!

Hopefully this mornings doreen can stick around until eggo rocks up as I fear she'll have come and gone by Friday evening.

His job is not conducive to ttc Sad

SuchaJem · 06/04/2016 13:44

Googling like a mentalist and taking comfort from this;

What you might not know is that it is actually best to start actively trying to conceive 12-24 hours before a positive ovulation test, which is why it is important to have sex once or twice a day during the week or so leading up to ovulation, during ovulation and a few days after. Why you might ask? The simple answer is that sperm introduced into the vagina days before the optimum ovulation time may have a better chance of being one of the lucky ones to fertilize the egg rather than sperm that is introduced during the actual ovulation. Sperm, in the right circumstances (i.e. there is thin, watery cervical mucuss* in the reproductive tract), are able to survive up to 5 days in the reproductive tract and this is good because sperm oftentimes slowly, but surely make their way towards the egg. It is a common misconception that sperm reach their destination within minutes of ejaculation, but it can take hours even days for the sperm to make its journey through the vagina to the egg.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 06/04/2016 13:54

Opk's are just a rough guide. It shows levels of lh (which we produce all cycle) but often around ovulation the hormone will increase. A positive opk just means you have hit the high saturation which triggers the dye to be concentrated. You can ovulate before your opk is positive, and up to 72 hours after. Depends on the egg and when it matures, your fallopian tubes, the cilia and how quickly they brush the egg along. So many factors! You can have a peak opk and not release an egg. Or the egg may not be viable. It's a bloody minefield!

Sperm can take up to 12 hours to reach the place they need to be (waiting in the right tube for the egg) and can live up to 5 days. I'm fairly certain that us dtd before eggo was released/Dh could smell me was what did it.

I didn't have any notable ewcm the entire time we were ttc. Literally none, ever. I never did the hips in the air after dtd (my thought process being the ones which fell out we didn't want anyway!) And other than taking epo last cycle until ovulation, I did nothing different really. We dtd more in the run up to the fertile window, but that was more by luck than judgement.

Thanks for your reply stark

The OPK business is confusing. When do I consider myself 1dpo - tomorrow? It's always going to be an estimate I guess?

I seem to remember kwick recommending eating pineapple post ovulation and keeping your middle warm. Will give these a whirl I've got that right!

Come ON cycle 4!!

twinkydink · 06/04/2016 17:13

Just had a weird wave of nausea when my dp asked for scrambled egg for tea! Aaahh I don't think I am going to be able to hold out till Friday!

Ni4444 · 06/04/2016 18:08

AF is in the house!! Thank God! My body is finally doing something I understand!! 12 day luteal phase...an improvement from 10...whatever the reason was for it!

On the bus for 7th May ticket if you're still organising us Kat!

Feefeefs · 06/04/2016 18:24

That can only be a positive ni! Did you change anything to lengthen it this cycle.

I don't think we DTD the day of ovulation either sucha I think it must be the lead up that's important!

Ni4444 · 06/04/2016 20:37

Good to know ladies...more work pre ovulation then!

Only difference was taking iron supplements Feefs. I read there's a link between iron and fertility...and my AF is so light I figured it couldn't hurt to try that!

SuchaJem · 06/04/2016 22:20

That's promising thanks feef

Sorry AF got you ni but definitely positive re your lp

My lovely teacher friend came over tonight and did this with my pineapple!
