Happy Friday ladies!!!
Glad to hear you're all doing well.
Caution - Still no news from the docs but you've just reminded me to give them a call. I did get a text about 1/2 an hour ago reminding me I have an appointment on Wednesday, which I didn't know about so maybe that's their way of telling me?!
Cloud - Don't be embarrassed about it being your first IUI. These things take a different amount of time for each of us and you should never feel bad that you were lucky enough for it to work first time. I laughed re the adding "it's still very early days" to the end of every statement. I still do that. 8 weeks today here (yay!). The risk of miscarriage is higher at 4, 8 and 12 weeks (when you would have normally had your AF), so I'm being a bit cautious for the next few days. Once we've got past that, that's another milestone out of the way. I did read that once you get past 8 weeks and they've seen a heartbeat, the chances of m/c fall to 2-3%. I also used the pee sticks (both of my makes) that you have to wait 3 minutes. Exactly 3 minutes, no sooner, no later. The longest 3 minutes of my life. And also, the first couple of tests I did changed to +ve quicker than test 3 and 4. I convinced myself that this meant the first 2 were only +ve as I still had drugs in my system. But they continued on being +ve and I'd say by about 5 days later they were quicker and stronger. And no, I didn't find your story insensitive at all. I felt for you, I have been there (well, similar) and it's nice to know that others go through the same thing. Made me feel a bit more normal!
Please don't feel you have to vet what you say on here. As Pickle says, we're all here together for the good and bad.
Kwik - Any luck on getting your hands on those freebie ClearBlues? We'll make you a convert yet...
So, I'm now reading the Crinone patient information leaflet online (I can send the link if anyone wants). Not sure I'd recommend reading it (despite the first line saying "Read all of this leaflet carefully before you start using this medicine because it contains important information for you"). So, I have learned that Crinone should be used preferably in the morning. It doesn't mention walking after (or not). It also says it may be used to support your new pregnancy for a total of 30 days. Not 3 months then like my clinic advise (I'm getting cynical that my clinic is all about making as many £ out of the patients as they can! But I'll do as I'm told). I also noticed that it said Crinone can make you tired (I'm feeling that at the moment, ever since I hit 6 weeks), I think I knew that but I am getting confused about what I've read from where now. I also read somewhere that it can cause bloating but that's not mentioned on the official leaflet. Caution - tell me if I'm stepping out of line here, but I think I remember you saying you suffered from depression in the past? The leaflet says it's not recommended if you've suffered depression - just thought I'd let you know so you can have that discussion with your clinic when the time comes. Sure there's alternatives or you can be monitored or lower dose or something. Good luck with your Progesterone test - let us know how it goes?
Pickle - Great news on getting the appointment booked. Onwards and upwards hey? You got that email confirmation through yet?
Boo - Come back to us! Please. We miss you. I hope everything's OK.
Shoes and Kwik - Are you both going to start testing slightly early? Fingers and toes crossed for you both.
I've been thinking of starting another thread for graduates from this thread. What do you think? Feels a bit wrong being on here now. I feel like an imposter. Or is that just me?
