I thought I may as well start up the April bus since af rudely kicked me off the February bus, and my dh isn't here for March!

Been ttc #4 since September last year. Tricky as dh works abroad so much! I think I'm due to ov on the 3rd of April and dh is home on the 1st, so fx we catch it! I'll be testing round about 17th April.

Anyone else ready to hop on board to keep me company? I have a large bag of mini eggs to share Grin

And one more thing - I have tried pretty much everything to get pg over the past 5 months. Except Angus castus and cough medicine!

I've been having acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine (capsules and tea) since January. It's really brought my stress levels down - in a miraculous way, seriously.

The main changes I made during March were to cut out decaf coffee (quit real coffee in December) and alcohol completely. I also upped my fruit and veg intake - blueberries and some kind of leaves every day at least.
Also took vit B6 to try to lengthen my luteal phase.

Other than that, I stopped temping and using preseed and tried to care less! I tried to do the SMEP, but things didn't work out (bloody DH) so we actually only DTD 3 times over my fertile period - working out to every other day. When I look back over my charts, they always look much better than this one, with much more DTD at the 'right' time. So it just goes to show you're always in with a chance!

Sorry to spam the thread, just wanted to give those who've been trying for a while some hope - I totally thought I was out this month, even argued with DH about it Blush
I shall shut up now and just lurk and quietly cheer you on for more bfps X

BoBo90 · 01/04/2016 08:49

Everdene you can take evening primrose oil to increase cm. You can get it in little capsules 😊

Tryingtowait · 01/04/2016 09:16

Well had a temp rise this morning but I got a bit tipsy last night so don't know if it's ovulation or down to that yet. If it was ov ff has put af down on my birthday what a lovely present! Also only dtd once this week which was monday so not holding out if it's not just the alcohol. Had a good night though was nice to let my hair down.

Good luck to anyone testing x

Sparrowlegs248 · 01/04/2016 09:29

Sam I'm 38 too so we can sit at the front together.

Last time I got pregnant when I had given up all hope. Two years of trying. Went for a fertility appointment on the Friday. Went out and got drunk (!!!!) Monday, bfp. Only dtd twice, cd 8 and 10 of a 24 day cycle.

Sparrowlegs248 · 01/04/2016 09:30

Af so far a no show. Not getting excited as it's quite likely my cycles aren't regular yet

Tryingtowait · 01/04/2016 10:18

nottalotta i am trying not to get slightly hopeful that I've given up this month. Although I've been temping still I was ill for the first week or two. Haven't constantly been thinking baby baby baby all the time. seen so many people say they gave up or only dtd once and it happened. Good luck to you x

nataliefruit · 01/04/2016 10:58

Sorry AF got you Gin. I know it's easy to say but try not to let this experience get you down guys. If AF has arrived then that just means youre body is working and you'll have another chance next month with even more information about when you ovulate so you might be able to time it prefectly next month. Plus for those that havent had it yet you're not out until AF shows up! Grin

I'm trying to take the view of what will be will be and there's always a silver lining to be found in everything - not easy all the time when all I can think about is babies babies babies but I can try! Grin

Good luck for everyone testing x

Mimilicious013 · 01/04/2016 12:36

happysunshineandrainbows · 01/04/2016 13:05

I've just been on the boots app and ordered some pregnancy testing sticks, and a digital one for (hopefully) when I FaceTime my mum to tell her! Haha!!

BertieBotts · 01/04/2016 14:03

I've just been to the supermarket and got really nauseous in the coffee aisle! Shock I bought some anyway. But only one pack. I'd usually buy two.

GiraffesCantDoMentalArithmetic · 01/04/2016 15:08

Bertie that's a serious sign Grin

samk15 · 01/04/2016 15:09

Sorry Notta , I do remember you saying before that we were the same age. Hopefully we won't be on the front of the bus for too long!! Fingers crossed that you get a BFP!!!

TryingToStayRational · 01/04/2016 15:42

Sorry to hear AF got you, Gin Wine. Hope you have a great hol and next time is your lucky one.

I'm still a week off testing so am trying to keep busy but not always succeeding. I have loads of DIY to do (our house is about 50% renovated and a total tip) so I'm trying to see any extra time as time I can spend getting the house in better shape, as it is far from suitable for an infant at the moment! Hopefully a BFP will arrive before I've finished the whole house, tidied every drawer, made curtains and matching lampshades for each room and become so obsessed I create topiary babies in the garden or something equally daft! Hmm

Tabitha78 · 01/04/2016 16:27

Sam and Notta I'll be joining you in the oap section at the front of the bus later this month when I turn 38 too Confused

BertieBotts · 01/04/2016 16:28

How much folic acid is everyone taking? I bought a supplement with 300 micrograms. I know I'm supposed to take 400 really but it only had 30 in so I thought it was a good start. On amazon when I looked at the TTC vitamins (I'm in Germany) the ones for TTC/early pregnancy have 800 micrograms and the ones for general pregnancy after 3 months have 400.

Pretty sure I took 400 last time but it was a long time ago now.

TryingToStayRational · 01/04/2016 16:48

NHS recommendations for most people (think it is different if you have diabetes or poss other conditions) are 400mcg folic acid and 10mcg vit d. I found a boots supplement that contains just those things so am taking that. www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/vitamins-minerals-supplements-pregnant.aspx

BertieBotts · 01/04/2016 16:53

I'm pretty sure that Boots one is exactly what I had last time! There is no Vitamin D requirement here but we are much further South.

I don't have any health conditions so it sounds like the 400 one is fine.

GiraffesCantDoMentalArithmetic · 01/04/2016 16:56

Trying GrinGrinGrin just snorted out loud at topiary babies!

TryingToStayRational · 01/04/2016 17:49

Perhaps I shouldn't jest about it, but I try to see the funny side of things! Smile

Sparrowlegs248 · 01/04/2016 18:44

tabitha I was referred to as a geriatric mother last time on my pregnancy notes!!

I got the boots combined via d and folic acid today. Was still taking vit d anyway as breastfeeding.

My one worry about Ttc now is exactly how will cope if I get the utter exhaustion I had last timeout the first 4 months.......not sure ds will understand that one!

Oh and bertie, get used to that nausea! I nearly vommed in the bakery section of M and S when preggers. I sampled a chocolate cookie and was very close to having to just throw up there and then.

underrugsswept · 01/04/2016 19:50

I'm taking Boots conception vitamins too. They make me throw up if I don't take them with a full stomach though so sometimes I just take straight folic acid (I have loads of these hanging around!) if I haven't just eaten.

GinandJazzHands · 01/04/2016 21:28

Thanks very much for your kind words ladies! Full of gelato and vino here so very relaxed about it all now. At least the past two cycles have taught me how to ID when I have definitely ovulated, which is useful because both cycles I've had a few 'false' LH surges. Vitamins wise I'm taking pregnacare - I was on the Severn seas ones but noticed the pregnacare ones had a higher vitamin B6 and B12 (I think) content which is supposed to help regulate cycles, not that it has for me yet, but early days.

searchingchocolate · 02/04/2016 07:36

Bertie folic acid recommendations vary from country to country (largely depending I think on whether bread is made with folic acid fortified flour) eg I'm in NZ and recommendation is 800mcg.

My chart is looking weird this month at 4dpo so not very hopeful, I'll see what it does next few days.

Huge congratulations baby

underrugsswept · 02/04/2016 09:24

Show us your chart. This is my first month temping so I find it fascinating.

DS has hugged me twice this week and said 'Baby in the tummy'. I hope he's right. We know a lot of pregnant women at the moment though so he probably thinks everyone has one in there!

Sparrowlegs248 · 02/04/2016 09:57

I can't take conception or pregnancy vitamins, due to the iron content. Blush Still no af here. I hope my cycles don't take ages to regulate.

Is everyone temping/charting etc?
