Not too long to wait then Star.

Have you spoke to your clinic Lucie? Hope everything is ok.

JustTrixie · 04/04/2016 11:04

*spoken!

MPP81 · 04/04/2016 11:15

Star I've actually really enjoyed not charting this month. I think I've finally accepted that it's pointless and it's quite freeing. Hoping the proxeed has worked for you! Smile Not an MA. I'm finishing the degree I dropped out of at 21. I always regretted not finishing it, and last year i was stuck in a job i hated with no idea what i wanted to do. DP said that we were in a financial position where we could afford for me to not work for a couple of years if i wanted to finish my degree, so i contacted the OU and they allowed me to transfer my credits from my first year, so here I am almost at the end of my second year. I still don't really know what I want to do after it though Confused but I know Im really lucky to have his support in this, and I've mostly really enjoyed it. I feel horribly guilty for not working sometimes though. I've never been without a job before, so it's still really strange.

Lucie I hope you're OK xx

stealthbanana · 04/04/2016 13:18

lucie sending good vibes your way today xx

lucieloos · 04/04/2016 14:38

Hi everyone, thanks for asking about me. I will catch up properly soon but just to update you..

My red blood turned to pink most of the afternoon yesterday and then stopped altogether from about 7pm until I went to bed. I was hoping that would be it but I had some more red on wiping when I first got up and a couple of times since. I rang the clinic but they said it would be too early to see anything on a scan and they weren't keen to do bloods as she said that would just show that I'm pregnant which we already know it wouldn't give anymore info about the cause of the bleed. She said the fact it started Friday and is mainly on wiping and hasn't got too much heavier and there are no cramps or pain could be a good sign. She also said I could expect any bleeding to be heavier in the morning due to lying down all night and then the effect of gravity. She was very non committal though and I guess doesn't know anymore than anyone else. She just advised to rest and call again if it got any heavier or if I had pain. She said maybe it was the weaker of my 2 embryos coming out but I don't think so. That one was only 2 cell on day 3 and we think had stopped growing before transfer so I don't think it would even have begun to implant and would have just been re-absorbed in the body. I'm feeling slightly more calm today but all the red blood still doesn't look good to me. I tried stopping clexane and aspirin yesterday but hasn't made much difference. I guess it's just a matter of wait and see now. I know plenty of women do have bleeding but I'm not getting my hopes up anymore.

Lucie - nothing I can say to reassure you, but know I'm thinking of you and hoping for the best.

DH just called me and said he was about to call his mum. Im really nervous of what she'll say, but so pleased that he's taking charge. Xx

stealthbanana · 04/04/2016 20:55

Goodness lucie how stressful. Sorry the clinic are being such asshats. There must be something they can do? When are you due to be scanned?

Brenna24 · 04/04/2016 21:02

I have everything crossed for you Lucie.

Sammy that is infuriating.

lucieloos · 04/04/2016 21:07

Thanks Sammy, Brenna and stealth.

Stealth, my first scan is 2 weeks tomorrow. Debating having a private one next weekend but I don't know if it will be worth it at 6 weeks and how much they will be able to see.

Sammy, how did the phone call go?

OP posts:
bananafish81 · 04/04/2016 21:15

lucie everything crossed for you. Dr says 6.5 from LMP is safest - you might well be OK at 6 weeks to see a heartbeat, but obv the earlier the higher the chances of seeing a sac but it being just too early to see a hb xxx

loopylou1984 · 04/04/2016 21:16

It went ok, DH handled it really well and it resulted in her turning up with flowers and chocolates to apologise. Which made me cry ! Xx

lucieloos · 04/04/2016 21:25

Aww Sammy that's really nice. Hope everything is ok now.

Thanks banana, alternatively I could have bloods done and see if they are still rising? Or just try and wait it out?Really don't know what to do for the best.

OP posts:
bananafish81 · 04/04/2016 21:33

I found the bloods pretty stressful, as the rate they go up varies and the levels certainly do, and so I was obviously googling like mad and just shitting myself up. If you can avoid googling it may be reassuring? For me it wasn't but I basically Google myself into abject panic!

lucieloos · 04/04/2016 21:36

That's why i haven't had the bloods done sooner. I've seen so many people stress over the numbers if they aren't quite doubling or whatever. Ahhh I don't know what to do.

OP posts:
bananafish81 · 04/04/2016 21:43

sammy so glad MIL came and apologised. And well handled DH!

I went and got my bloods done and hopefully they're on their way to Athens. Phlebotomy cost was £30 and next day shipping was £40, so based on rough exchange rate for €300, it's costing me about £300 all in

Another Dr Gorgy patient on another forum said he was happy for her to retest with Athens even though original bloods were with Chicago. So reassuring that they must be reasonably kosher. The Dr says the results take 2-3 days so will hopefully have them back by end of the week, if the samples arrive ad they should.

I also got tested for ureaplasma and mycoplasma, which ARGC test for and which was mentioned in the FF immunes faq. Test came back positive for ureaplasma, negative for mycoplasma. The jury seems to be out on whether it has any bearing on fertility or not, and Dr Sher says up to 40% of the general population have it! So he says treating with antibiotics is something they do routinely 'just in case'. It seems unlikely to have been the root cause of the mc but will be good to get the antibiotics to get it treated for peace of mind. And is very possibly the root cause of the recurrent UTIs I get that consistently come back negative. So if we can knock those on the head will be a win.

bananafish81 · 04/04/2016 21:44

If you can sit it out lucie that is personally what I would do. And if you can wait till just after 6 weeks for a private scan that's likely to be more reassuring - big hugs xxx

lucieloos · 04/04/2016 21:49

Wow banana that's amazing how quickly they will get everything done! Will be really interesting to see the results.

I think the latest I could have a private scan is 6+1 as that would be next Sunday. I won't do it on a work day and we can't take another day off for it. The following weekend would be only 2-3 days before my NHS scan so no point then really.

lucieloos · 04/04/2016 21:57

Is someone going to do the honours and start a new thread? We have got through this one in record time!

OP posts:
JustTrixie · 04/04/2016 21:58

I was just writing a post and my phone froze and I lost it. Need to sort an upgrade!

Lucie I had typed the same as Banana about sitting it out until 6 weeks and getting a private scan. Must be so hard, thinking of you xx

Great that your DH has sorted things with your MIL Sammy.

Can't believe how quick you'll get your results Banana, so I guess you'll have them ready for your appointment.

MPP81 · 05/04/2016 01:17

It's late and I'm wide awake, so I started a new thread. Hope that's ok with everyone. It's here

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2607354-TTC-for-10-months-or-more-and-now-were-moving-onto-thread-4-Ten-plussers-welcome

Lucie I also have everything crossed for you. I can't imagine how stressed you are now and I am thinking of you Flowers

Sammy I'm so glad mil was so nice about it. That must be a relief for you and hopefully it will curb her in future.

Banana fab news on getting the tests done and getting them back so quickly!

waves to everyone else

loopylou1984 · 05/04/2016 06:37

I knew she'd feel bad, she wouldn't do anything to deliberately upset us. Just can't believe she was so thoughtless in the first place!
She didn't tell DH uncle which means someone else she told did. DH has told her to contact anyone she's told and make sure they don't tell anyone else. We didn't ask who she told, I'd rather not know as I'm sure she'll make sure no one says a thing to us anyway! Xx

lucieloos · 05/04/2016 07:02

Thanks Trixie and MPP I'm trying not to stress about it now, it is what it is. If it doesn't work out obviously we are going to be devastated after getting our hopes up but at least we've got a step further than before I guess and know that implantation can happen.

Sammy, glad everything is ok now.

See you all on the new thread x

star1980 · 05/04/2016 07:51

Wow, we've filled this thread up fast!

Lucie, just want to send you all the very best of luck that this works out. You're right though that there's nothing you can do, so try and stay calm (a billion times easier said than done). Much love to you Flowers

Sammy, so glad it worked out with mil.

See you all over on the new thread for even more bfps!
