hey all

Is it ok if I join you on this shitty journey?? I have been messaging Banana as turns out we have the same consultant. I'm 34, TTC for 18 months, had a mc at 7 weeks early on but then nada. Seem to be ovulating fine and all tests are "Normal" but have painful periods so just had a lap and dye where they removed a bit of endo, a polyp and apparently forced the dye down so back TTC this month.... Feel a bit bored, fed up and pretty isolated from friends in real life who keep telling me it will all be fine etc etc.

Very sorry to hear of the BFNs of those going through IVF Flowers I don't really know what to say as its just so shit and such an investment emotionally, physically and financially, any "consolations" sound pretty naff

bananafish81 · 21/03/2016 11:30

Welcome chocolate - glad you could join us

The lovely stealth is also cycling with our lovely consultant so he's got a bit of a gang of us on this thread

Between him and Reprofit I think they've got a fair amount of business out of this thread!!

BorisIsBack · 21/03/2016 11:35

Banana you and lucie should def. get commission for all your referrals!

Mpp I didn't join the thread but I spent many many work hours reading it. It was so informative. I screen shot loads of the advice as it was so useful. Thank god I have a crap job and time to read :)

bananafish81 · 21/03/2016 11:39

Haha I can't claim credit for chocolate as she was already his patient and it was her excellent guess work that meant she worked out we were seeing the same consultant

I did send my SIL and another girl I know to him, as well as recommending him to stealth so I did joke to him that I would be sending him the invoice for my referral fee!! Grin

MPP81 · 21/03/2016 11:40

Lucie, they told me the AMH results would take 2 and a half weeks to come back but that I would probably get the others before then. Hopefully won't be too long now. I had them a week tomorrow. Thanks for the link (again!). I will 100% join sometime today!

Welcome Chocolate, though sorry you find yourself here. I'm also 34 and ttc 18 months ish (20 cycles). It's all very shit, as you say. Everyone here is lovely though, and so knowledgeable! Plus, it's so good to talk to people who understand.

True, Banana! I think Lucie should start charging reprofit for all the business she's sending them! :)

MPP81 · 21/03/2016 11:41

Lots of cross posts! Great minds... Wink

Ladystr09 · 21/03/2016 12:12

Thank you ladies for the response. I am going to call my doctors office for a blood test today. I'm so anxious. My period is late which never happens and I feel like I see faint lines

MPP81 · 21/03/2016 14:15

I think CRGW must have been looking at our discussion, Lucie, and decided to give me a call. Just had my blood results - kind of. A very nice lady told me my AMH is 21.8 which is 'perfectly normal for my age'. I asked about the others and she looked and said they were all normal and that I could come down and collect a print out of all my tests. I've had a quick Google of AMH and I cant make sense of the info, so does anyone know if this is 'perfectly normal' and what would it mean with regards to the kind of meds I would expect for ivf? Or do I need the rest of the results to get an idea of this? I'll be going tomorrow to get the print out and then I can send off my forms! :)

bananafish81 · 21/03/2016 14:24

Mpp here is the reference range for AMH

40 and above is on the next page but I think your age range is covered here? Xx

TTC for 10 months and the rest! 10 plussers welcome! Thread 3 (the one where we all get our bfps!)
lucieloos · 21/03/2016 14:28

MPP that's a really good level and definitely normal for your age. Reprofit will probably start you on a mid level dose of meds around 225iu. You don't have anything to worry about with that result Smile

OP posts:
bananafish81 · 21/03/2016 14:31

Yes I am well jel of that AMH

My AMH is 1.5

The reference range doesn't even go down that low until I get to the mid 40s age range

I'm 34!!!!

MPP81 · 21/03/2016 14:41

Brilliant, thanks both. One less thing to worry about then. :) Yep, my age range is there, Banana. I'm 34 too. Everything I Googled just made me confused, and when I get the rest of the results, I'll probably post them with more confusion. Thanks so much for your help :)

Struggling to keep up here things are moving so fast.

Sorry it was a bfn Lucie, I tested at the equivalent of 10dpo first time and spent ages Googling people who had got a bfn then and had gone on to get a bfp. I really hope it is just too early for you.

Hi and welcome to the thread Chocolate.

Good news about your results MPP!

star1980 · 21/03/2016 17:42

Hello ladies, sorry for absence - been a bit busy this weekend.

Sammy, so so sorry for the bfn. This really effing sucks. I hope you and dh are looking after yourselves and when you feel ready you can start formulating a plan.
Lucie, sorry for your bfn too. I have been lurking all weekend and today and wondering whether both you and Sammy might get a bfp later but there's no point in that kind of hope. Crossing my fingers for Wednesday and hoping for a bfp then. Otherwise, it's great you can crack on with a fet straight away.
Sorry about the cold Boris, hope you're feeling better soon.
Mpp, congratulations on the amh result (small wins hey) - looks like things are getting moving really soon. Are you starting immediately after your honeymoon.
You too Trixie, April is almost here!
Sounds like a really sensible plan banana. An mmc sounds so so cruel and after both those scans with a heartbeat - I cannot imagine how you are coping, but I'm really glad you are getting there. Look at you helping everyone out already, you're a real star.
No ttc news here (big surprise). I spent Saturday at a baby shower which really have changed in the 5 years since my first. Now everyone (except me and 1 friend who is not ttc but had a mc a year ago which preceded the end of her relationship) had at least one child and the conversations were solely about giving advice to the mum-to-be about labour, children's books, toys, clothes, breast pads, slings etc. Or, telling stories about their own children. Nothing for me to contribute whatsoever.

loopylou1984 · 21/03/2016 18:06

Welcome chocolate!

MPP congratulations on the results. Great start.

Lucie - sorry for your bfn too... You really could be too early.

Stealth - I won't be seeing my consultant on Wednesday, in fact I suspect that when I call with my pregnancy outcome (I hate that phrase) they'll ask me to re test on Friday. Consultant appointment will be in a couple of weeks most likely.

I was doing so well at work today then made a huge mistake and just burst in to tears. With only an hour to go. I'm exhausted. My manager told me off for testing early as well as saying 'they say it takes an average of three cycles for IVF to work' gaaaaaaah! Xx

MPP81 · 21/03/2016 18:30

God, Star, I think a baby shower right now would really suck. I hope you're OK. Our plan is to start as soon as we get back from honeymoon but realistically it's more likely to be July or August I think. We'll miss my June cycle because it's due to start while we're away, and my July cycle may clash with my DC's birthday, so I dont really want to go away for a few days if it means missing that. We'll see how it goes I suppose.

Sammy, I'm so sorry you've had a rough afternoon. Also, I'm sure your manager was trying to be nice but it bloody stings when people do that, doesn't it. I hope you're ok.

MPP81 · 21/03/2016 18:34

Actually, does anyone have any experience of taking norethisterone to delay AF? My doctor suggested it when I mentioned AF on my honeymoon, but I wouldn't want to take it if it'll interfere with my cycles/future ivf.

bananafish81 · 21/03/2016 18:48

They often use norethisterone for IVF to time cycles so they know when day 1 will be. So deffo won't fuck anything up and will mean you can avoid AF on honeymoon which can only be a good thing! Xxx

lucieloos · 21/03/2016 19:48

I have pink spotting on wiping Confused It started off as a small blob of pink in some cm earlier and now when I wipe it's very light pink spots. Could this be from the progesterone pessaries? I am taking a ton of progesterone both pessaries and injection so surely af can't be turning up this early. Although feel bloated like it is going to show and have had a few cramps. Also this would normally be around the time it would show after egg collection if I didn't have a transfer. Not good.

OP posts:
loopylou1984 · 21/03/2016 20:18

Lucie - how many days post transfer are you? Xx

lucieloos · 21/03/2016 20:29

I'm 9-10dpo today so 6-7dp3dt. I say that because we had a late transfer at 3.30pm so would only have truly turned 10dpo late afternoon today. I'm too terrified to move. I can handle the bfn but I don't want af to arrive this early considering the amount of progesterone I'm on to hold if off. On my last transfer I was only on crinone pessaries and af didn't arrive until 15dpo.

Sorry for lack of personals at the moment. I will reply properly soon.

OP posts:
BorisIsBack · 21/03/2016 20:34

Lucie - how worrying for you. Really hoping it's the progesterone. Xxx

MPP81 · 21/03/2016 20:34

Could it be the elusive implantation bleeding Lucie? Surely it can't be AF. Thinking of you xx

MPP81 · 21/03/2016 20:35

Oh yes, or the progesterone. Hope youre ok xx
