8 a day Boris???? I'm only on 2 a day at the moment, I'm hoping it doesn't go up to 8 and I have to do them at work. Xx

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 08/03/2016 09:16

8?! I was going to say "at least it's your foof and not its nearby neighbour" but at 8, I don't think it would make any difference! All worth it in the end though :)

It's nice to see grads pop by, and happy to read your pregnancy is coming along nicely Beautician

DizzyNorthernBird · 08/03/2016 09:22

boris does this mean you're 'pupo'? (Read this terminology on another thread but wasn't sure whether this is specific to a certain type of ivf). Sounds exciting though!! How are you feeling? Sorry you didn't get as many blasts as you hoped for.......but one of these could be your baby!!

Sorry for af kelz, hope you're having Wine or Chocolate to console yourself. X

baby hope you're coping ok with the sickness. Think of it as a necessary evil.

Congrats on the negative test results genghis! It's always a relief, even if you're certain you're ok there's always a slight niggle 'what if'. I was going to suggest ov bleeding too, could it be that?

beaut glad to hear you're doing ok, wow hasn't that time passed quickly! I've started being very open now about ttc, quite a few people at work now know (close friends & family already knew) and everyone's been great. You start hearing all sorts of stories about people struggling. Thanks for looking out for us long timers! X

Temp went back up today Smile and FF has now given me a solid line on cd20. Happy days.

BorisIsBack · 08/03/2016 09:25

Sammy read it and weep for me. 8 a day. 4 each time 12 hours appart. At least they are small.

Dizzy n that's great news. And yes I'm PUPO. Here begins the longest 2 weeks of my life.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 08/03/2016 09:51

Great news DizzyN! Interesting to read that you're open about the TTC length etc, I'm not quite at that stage yet, and I have no idea why. I think some of my reticence is because, from the few I have told, I often get 'Oh it'll happen, just wait' etc and that does my head in. Grumble.

I hope you have some busy days planned Boris to try and take your mind off the 2WW..

loopylou1984 · 08/03/2016 09:57

Boris - mine are quite big so maybe the same dose. What ones have you got? I'm on cyclogest.

Ghengis - re the foofs near by neighbour, check out the other thread Boris, Lucie and I are on if you fancy a laugh. 'Ttc 10 months and the rest, ten plussers welcome'

MagpieCursedTea · 08/03/2016 10:00

Boris I hope that blastocyst is snuggling in well. I also hope the 2 weeks pass quickly (partly so you can have that whole pessaries business over with, 4 at a time?!). Keeping everything crossed for you.

DizzyN glad to hear ff confirmed your ov, fx for you!

Genghis congratulations on your lack of STDs Grin I also thought of ovulation bleeding when you mentioned the spotting.

Kellz sorry for AF Sad I hope you have a lovely holiday though, I'm sure the break will do you good!

BBH I couldn't move too far from a bathroom at first either but it's better now. I probably should have invested in some poopourri too! I hope the increased dose goes smoothly.

DizzyM we DTD last night and a couple of nights before that. I hope that super egg of yours is doing well!

Bird FB is a nightmare for that, there's no warning, just suddenly appearing photos of the insides of someone's uterus. I think your approach of tracking CM and not doing OPKs is quite a sensible one, much less stressful. I can't seem to stop feeding my POAS habit though.

Beaut good to hear about the OPKs! Gives me hope Smile also lovely to hear how well you're doing, over half way already!

No temp rise for me this morning, empty circle on the digi OPK and the cheapie was fainter than yesterday (but will do one later as well as I know it's not meant to be FMU).

DizzyNorthernBird · 08/03/2016 10:18

magpie that's confusing. bloody opks . Maybe you had a false surge with the ic? I would get that all the time which is why I stopped using them. Now I just keep an eye on cm.

boris I hope in that case you've got plans to take your mind off things for the next week or so. Just out of interest, what do they say about exercise when pupo? Business as usual or are you told to tone it down? I'm always tempted to take it easy during tww but then I disregard the temptation because if this were the case professional athletes would never have babies.......but I guess when you're investing £££ in getting upduffed you wouldn't want to take any risks?

genghis yeah I get people saying that too, "stop stressing and it'll happen" etc. I just smile sweetly and silently swear at them for being so fucking ignorant.

BorisIsBack · 08/03/2016 10:41

Dizzyn they have banned me from sports, baths, sex.... I think that was all that's banned but I've also obviously removed alcohol and coffee from my life... I am sure normally excercise is ok, as long as it's something you are used to and you don't suddenly go from park run 5ks to running marathon or taking up rugby.., ivf pregnancies seem to become normal at the 7/8 week Mark when you can have an early scan. Before then it's all expensive and protected.

OP posts:
BorisIsBack · 08/03/2016 10:48

Sammy I'm on utrogestan 100mg a tablet, 4 tablets twice a day at 12 hour intervals.

OP posts:
MagpieCursedTea · 08/03/2016 12:25

DizzyN I think you're right about false surges. I read it's a thing with PCOS and my LH levels are higher than they should be according to my blood test but I never normally get even faint lines on these tests. It's all so confusing.

I know I should just stop doing them but then I think I'd worry I was missing something. I also find gives me a little hope that my body might be doing something. Argh!
I've attached a picture of this afternoon's test. Looks like another not quite positive.

Welcome to bumsnet
DizzyMerry · 08/03/2016 13:27

Kellz I'm so sorry Flowers have a great holiday.

Ghengis I also think it's ov bleeding and would tally with the ewcm. It's always great to have some of the tests out of the way.

Beaut over half way already where did that time go?!

Boris sending positive cushiony thoughts your way. Hope the dreaded tww passes quickly for you. Shock at the pessaries though!

Dizzy yay for ov being confirmed!

Magpie how frustrating! Was this afternoons test darker than yesterday's? Boo to false surges but as you're temping you'll soon be able to tell whether you have ovulated. Fx you do.

DizzyMerry · 08/03/2016 13:32

Beaut I was very open about ttc with DD and a lot of people at the time then said they were struggling too. I'm not so open about it this time partly because the struggle will seem more real if I do, if you see what I mean and partly because I'd like to avoid the 'well meaning' advice from people. Glad you're doing well and lovely to see you pop back on here.

NurseRosie · 08/03/2016 20:24

Wow, I've not been on for a few days and now I'm so behind. Hope everyone's ok. I'm looking forward to a weekend away over my ov. Trying to relax and hoping this is our month.

FX for everyone x

nightandthelight · 09/03/2016 02:04

Fingers crossed for you Boris and Sammy, hopefully a couple of BFPs very soon!

I ovd on CD12 the month I got my BFP Merry :)

Waves to everyone, my fingers are still crossed for you all!

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 09/03/2016 06:15

Sorry about AF Kellz and hope you enjoy your holiday.

Sammy I hope you got a reply from your clinic re. front or back Grin. I did laugh - also at 'dudes'...you all sound like a really kind and supportive group - it must be a lifesaver when going through all the procedures.

Aargh to frustrating OPKs/false surges Magpie How was your temp this morning?

Nurse, a romantic ov weekend break sounds like a great idea - enjoy!

I get what you mean about 'making it more real' DizzyM! How's SMEP going for you this month?

Thanks for all the STI-free congratulations everyone Grin and the advice about OV bleeding - if it is then I'm slightly concerned that I OV later I thought and wouldn't usually be giving it my all in the sack by then (sorry, tmi again). Maybe I really should buy a thermometer...

Also, one more question - I have to get bloods taken on cd2/3, but everywhere I look, mention cd21 as well. I'm slightly concerned that I haven't been told to get more blood taken on cd21...is that normal?

loopylou1984 · 09/03/2016 06:39

Lol - Ghengis it's a range of emotions over there, most of the ladies have been at it a long time so they do really understand the fears and hope etc.

No reply from the clinic yet. I expect they'll email me today.

Your day 2/3 bloods check your pre ovulation hormone levels. The idea of the day21 (or 7 days before af is due) one is to check your post of hormone levels, and check that you did indeed ovulate. I should think you should be having both. Xx

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 09/03/2016 07:30

Thanks Sammy I'll give the clinic a call later on (great - more blood tests!)

BorisIsBack · 09/03/2016 07:35

Genghis - insist on both tests - they tell you so much data about how your cycle works.

OP posts:
GenghisKahnSchmitz · 09/03/2016 07:45

Thanks Boris I will do! Hope you're doing okay?

Also, Sammy hope you're feeling calm about tomorrow...it must be so exciting yet also so nerve-wracking.

MagpieCursedTea · 09/03/2016 10:11

DizzyM thanks! I think it was a bit darker but that could just be wishful thinking.

Rosie I hope you have a lovely weekend away and that the relaxation helps your TTC efforts.

Genghis no such thing as tmi here! What is it you've been basing your ov dates on? I'd definitely ask for the CD21 test but try and get them to schedule based around your cycle, as a lot of doctors will just book it on cd21 and that's not much help if your cycle isn't 28 days.

Sammy hope you hear back from the clinic today, how are you feeling?

Boris how are you getting on? Hope time isn't moving too slowly!

So I managed to screw up my digi OPK this morning by putting the stick in upside down HmmI hate those things.
On a positive note, it looks like I had a temp increase. It wasn't massive but it was definitely higher than normal, really hoping it stays that way.

BorisIsBack · 09/03/2016 10:31

I'm doing ok, time is glacially slow. Some of my friends want to have a boozy night out soon. I've not seen them for ages. Really want to go but have no idea how to hide the no drinking.

Yeyy for the temp increase magpie

OP posts:
MagpieCursedTea · 09/03/2016 10:53

The excuse I used was being on metronidazole (the antibiotic that makes you violently sick if you have alcohol with it) for a wisdom tooth infection. I had a history of wisdom tooth problems though!
Other people do fake drinking, so having a glass of wine in your hand all night but not actually drinking it.
You could also claim a health kick but I find people try hard to talk you out of that one.

BorisIsBack · 09/03/2016 11:54

Health kick they wouldn't beleive. Metronidozol is a good one though!
