I would go with the antibiotics excuse too boris, you don't even have to explain why you're taking them.

waves at night

Hi mummy & welcome. I get long irregular cycles too as do a few of us on here so we can sympathise. Are your irregular cycles because of coming off the pill or something else?

DizzyMerry · 09/03/2016 15:40

That's reassuring night, thanks. How are you doing? Have you had your baby yet? I keep meaning to get on FB to check on you all but can't remember my password and not got round to resetting it yet.

Enjoy your break rosie. It's always nice to get away even just for the weekend.

Ghengis as others have said 'day 21' tests are very important to check you're ovulating. They should be done 7 days prior to AF.

Magpie that's great your temp has increased. Fx it stays that way for you.

All the best for tomorrow sammy.

Hope you can work around that one boris!

Welcome squish and how frustrating! How long is your longest cycle?

DizzyNorthernBird · 09/03/2016 15:40

magpie I wouldn't have said that was a positive yesterday but good news on the temp rise. It might even be a slow riser. Fx it stays up!

BorisIsBack · 09/03/2016 15:44

Welcome mummy squish. Day 42 sounds grim.

Waves back at Dizzy. How are you doing lovely? How are wedding plans going?

I have a five week old boy merry :) You are much missed on facebook!

Mummy2squish · 09/03/2016 16:03

Thank you for a warm welcome Smile my longest cycle is 66 days. When I was TTC my first my cycle took a few months to regulate after the pill but I ended up with a 35 day cycle, this time seems to be taking longer to sort. But with a history of thyroid problems I wonder if there is something else or whether I should stay put!!

Mummy2squish · 09/03/2016 16:04

Sorry I mean wait it out or see a gp pressed send too soon!

MagpieCursedTea · 09/03/2016 17:03

Mummy2squish welcome! I have long/irregular cycles too. They're a massive pain. I'd go see your GP if you've had thyroid problems to get your levels checked. Are you on medication for it?

Hope everyone else is having a good day! My OPK this afternoon barely had a second line and the EWCM has gone. So either a false surge or ovulation, will just have to hope my temp stays up. Either way it was exciting for my body to be doing something other than bleeding!

DizzyMerry · 09/03/2016 17:04

Night many congratulations. Will definitely get on FB tonight after my acupuncture appointment.

I would definitely discuss this with your GP squish particularly as you also have thyroid issues. It can't be much fun having such long cycles.

Mummy2squish · 09/03/2016 17:31

I'm not on medication for it anymore just annual blood tests. Will make an appointment for the end of the month hopefully AF will have arrived by then so I can explain the cycle length

Magpie fingers crossed for you that you did ov (sorry I'm not up with the way to make names bold yet!! HELP!!))

MagpieCursedTea · 09/03/2016 17:54

If you put a * either side of a word it makes it bold Smile

DizzyNorthernBird · 09/03/2016 19:06

I've found a venue night but haven't put a deposit down yet as we're going to put my flat back on the market this month, so I'm holding out until I know how much money we need to move. That's as far as I've got! But the plan was always to get the house sorted first. One of these days I must go dress shopping rather than just looking at magazines and Pinterest!

My longest cycle was 52 day, a few months ago squish. It was so annoying, especially when some on here were already hitting their second fertile window in the time it had taken me to get from one af to the next Blush

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 10/03/2016 03:18

Ohh I'm engaged too DizzyN - it's one thing that cheers me up when I get frustrated with TTC (well, when I remember)

Welcome Squish. Those long cycles sound frustrating. Good idea with the doctor's appointment.

Great news about the temp rise Magpie - fx it continues upwards. Re. my OV time - I actually just base it being the middle-ish of my cycle, cm and my microscope (when it works) but really we just try and dtd eod most of my cycle.

DizzyM hope acupuncture went well?

Thanks everyone for the advice about day 21 bloods - will definitely get on to the doctor.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 10/03/2016 06:04

Good luck today Sammy - I hope everything goes well!

MagpieCursedTea · 10/03/2016 08:14

Genghis eod seems like a sensible approach!

Sammy all the best for today, will be thinking of you!

My temp was low again this morning and I had a smiley on the digi OPK. I think my body is just messing with me.

nightandthelight · 10/03/2016 10:35

Ooh what kind of venue is it Dizzy? How exciting!

chopsface · 10/03/2016 11:08

Thinking of you today sammy x

nightandthelight · 10/03/2016 11:14

Fx for you Sammy! Xx

Mummy2squish · 10/03/2016 11:22

Fx sammy

ThePug · 10/03/2016 11:47

I've missed so much but just tried to have a bit of a catch up...

To Boris & Sammy - everything is crossed for you both, I hope so much that this is IT for both of you. Sending you all my positive egg-planty vibes

To DizzyN - exciting ti read about your wedding planning! And are you trying to do SMEP now? Did you ever persuade your OH to get tested so you could progress with more tests yourself?

DizzyM - I'm sad to see you're still trying after your loss but happy to see how positive you seem. It will happen again Smile

So lovely to see lots of new names on here and that Bumsnet continues to be the amazing, supportive thread I came to love.

In my news, I had a baby boy on Valentines Day, at 36+3. He was born by EMCS after failed induction and me developing something called HELLP syndrome (a fun rare form of pre pre-eclampsia where your organs start failing). He had to spend 4 days in NICU, mainly to stabilise his blood sugar, and I was also kept in for lots of monitoring and treatment (and some not-so-good-care relating to my diabetes which could have finished me off), but we both left hospital together when he was a week old. Both doing well at home now and I'm enjoying being a mum Smile

Will be keeping an eye on you all as & when I can, but know I'm wishing you all the best of luck for getting your bfp's Flowers

DizzyNorthernBird · 10/03/2016 12:59

Good luck sammy

Hi pug! Congratulations on the baby boy! Funnily enough they were just discussing HELLP on This Morning, I'd never heard of it! Glad to hear you're both doing well & enjoying motherhood. DP has got his SA booked in April (only a 4 month wait in the end for his test) and also I had a scan in January where I found out I've got polycystic ovaries, which explains my irregular cycles. GP is unwilling to refer further until SA is done so just waiting for that at the moment and to eat better to see if it helps regulate my cycles.

night it's a hotel- not the budget venue i originally had in mind but we'll keep the guest list small and budget in other areas to make up for it. Don't want to post too many details on here about it for obvious reasons but let's just say it's in a fabulous scenic location (if you can remember which part of the country I'm originally from then I'll go so far as to say it's back home Smile)

DizzyNorthernBird · 10/03/2016 12:59

genghis have you made any plans towards your big day?

DizzyMerry · 10/03/2016 14:07

Ghengis I think eod is the right approach. Acupuncture went really well if anything it relaxes me for a while. My acupuncturist thinks I have a circulation problem, which could be true as I haven't done any exercise for a long time. She suggested yoga or brisk walking to get me going. I've started using my cross trainer again but just need to stay committed!

Magpie sorry for the temp drop. How annoying! Fx your body does something in the next few days.

Hope all goes well today sammy.

Pug congratulations lovely. I did manage to log on to FB last night and managed to read up on what you've all been up to. Your boy is a cutie as are the other babies on there.

All this wedding planning talk is so exciting!

loopylou1984 · 10/03/2016 14:34

Just a quick update, I'm now PUPO. 1 five day blastocyst onboard.

pug - congratulations lovely :). Sorry you had such a tough time with the birth, but fab news that he's now here safely.

Hope everyone's alright? Will catch up with everyone else ASAP. Xx

Welcome to bumsnet
MagpieCursedTea · 10/03/2016 15:49

Sammy that's a beautiful blastocyst! Congratulations on being PUPO Thanks

DizzyM thanks! Glad your acupuncture is going well, I find the relaxation element very helpful too. I hope you can get your circulation sorted. I keep meaning to start doing some yoga but manage to put it off.

Pug Massive congratulations Thankssounds like a difficult start but lovely that you're home and happy.

Loving all the wedding planning going on. Not much better than a good wedding! Happy planning to the Bumsnet Brides ThanksWineGrin
