First thing tomorrow morning Magpie! Do you think it's the metformin that's causing the later OV? Hopefully the appointment comes through soon.

DizzyN Urgh - so annoying. Will you go back to temping as normal next month? I'm tempted to start temping despite saying I never would but will wait till after the doctor. Good luck with selling your place - you sure know how to stress yourself out btw - selling your house? Check. Organising a wedding? Check. Trying for a baby? Check. Grin

Sorry to read about your stressing Kellz. Stupid TTC (channeling my inner toddler) Flowers

Hope you're okay Jod?

Rainy did you start the clomid? Hope it's going well for you.

Hello DizzyM and everyone else!

MagpieCursedTea · 14/04/2016 08:20

Genghis I don't normally ov so if it does happen, full credit will be going to the metformin! DH woke up feeling much better when I went up to bed so I took full advantage Grin
I had a bit of a temp dip this morning so hoping it's a sign of impending ov rather than AF. I completely recommend temping, it can be something else to obsess over but it's a fantastic tool for helping you figure out what your body is doing.

Hope everyone has a great day. I'm off for an acupuncture session,

DizzyNorthernBird · 14/04/2016 09:03

genghis I'd never thought about that! No wonder my cycles are all over the place! Although I'm not really organising a wedding right now, I've barely thought about it since picking the venue.

I agree with magpie. Sometimes charts can require a bit of deciphering but for me having irregular cycles they help figure out when af is due. For anyone who is regular they'll help show exactly when ov is happening and how long the luteal phase is too. I understand some people can't temp due to night feeding etc but for everyone else who is ttc I really think they're daft not to do it!

DizzyNorthernBird · 14/04/2016 09:05

magpie enjoy your acupuncture!

I'm just waiting for DP to wake up so we can get his sperm ready to take to the hospital Grin

MagpieCursedTea · 14/04/2016 09:57

Good luck DizzyN and all the best to your DP, it's not the most fun for them!

BorisIsBack · 14/04/2016 10:00

Dizzyn really pleased your sa is finally happening. It's a good step forward!

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 14/04/2016 10:22

Good luck DizzyN's DP! I'm sure he'd love to know there's a number of women cheering him on Grin

Magpie Sorry, I'd forgot about your OV issue - hooray for metformin and fx for ov happening soon. I hope the acupuncture goes well.

You've both convinced me to buy a thermometer...though I can already see DP's face when I whip it out in the morning. I bought vitamin C tablets the other day, and the amount of moaning I've had to listen too about them Hmm

Hi Boris

Jod1985 · 14/04/2016 11:15

Hi all, STILL no sign of The witch! Confused

DizzyNorthernBird · 14/04/2016 11:33

Sorry you're still in limbo jod, it's not nice. If you did have a chemical it could be a while until your body settles down. Hopefully you'll have answers soon.

Thanks everyone. DP went a bit weird this morning. I thought he was ok about doing this as we've been joking about it loads. I just assumed I'd be helping him do his sample but he got up, told me he was a bit weirded out about it, then he went into the bathroom and did it himself Confused. He dashed off to work and he's just rang me to make sure it was dropped off on time and he still sounds a bit off. It can't be nice at all, not sure if he's worrying about the results but I've told him that they don't matter and he should see it as a gateway to getting more tests done on me.

genghis my DP hates me temping, he always moans about the beeping the thermometer makes, but he just about tolerates it because I explained to him it's important for me to do it, otherwise every month I'd be in the dark about when af is due and obsessing about whether I'm pg. was the vit C for your DP? I darent mention vits to mine! I think the only way I'd get mine to take them is if our doctor told him they'd help.

Jod1985 · 14/04/2016 11:54

If it was a chemical how long until I bleed? Anyone any idea? I'm on CD31 now

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 14/04/2016 12:42

Jod I have no experience/idea but I did just google, and it seems to be from a few days to a week, but that is just anecdotal evidence. xx

DizzyN Glad it all went well this morning - one more step in the right direction. I hope your DP is okay - mine was like 'I can't believe my life has actually come to this' but was quite pragmatic about the whole thing. I guess, in one way, it's a bit of a wake up call.

Vit C was for DP - I hit him with it after my investigations into his SA results so I think he may have felt a bit obligated (whoops). He moans about it every morning so I'm planning on asking the doctor in front of him to see what he says. I've done a bit of research about the various vitamins though I'm not sure about the effect with his issue - my thinking is if he can improve the 'normal' sperm than that has to be good, now just to turn him around to my thinking :)

Jod1985 · 14/04/2016 12:45

Zinc is very good for sperm production. I do have to leave the supplements out for him or he wouldn't take them.

It's been a week now from my first faint positive. Today I have What I think is EWC? It's not overly stretchy? Maybe it's just leftover man juice (tmi) as we have DTD 3 nights in a row this week. Blush

MagpieCursedTea · 14/04/2016 13:15

Jod good work with DTD! I often struggle to tell the difference between EWCM and semen. Apparently one floats in water and the other doesn't (can't remember which way round it is) if you really want to go down that road Grin
Sorry you're still in limbo with your tests and possible chemical. I really hope you get answers soon as it must be so stressful.

Genghis can you get the his and hers conception vitamins where you are? They're a bit pricey but contain all the vitamins you both need. There are a few brands that do them and they can be bought together in one pack or separately.

DizzyN my DH was very strange around doing his SA. He wasn't able to joke about it for ages. I think it was partly worry about the results and partly the weirdness of the whole thing. Glad it's out the way for you both now. Any sign of a temp rise today or have you still got time to DTD before ov?

I had another lovely acupuncture session. She think my body is trying to ovulate. I hope I manage it this time!

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 14/04/2016 13:16

You should be proud Jod not embarrassed Grin. Will you do another test? I wish I could help with advice - it all just sounds so frustrating for you.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 14/04/2016 13:26

Ha - I now have an image of Jod with a glass of water in her bathroom waiting to do her experiment.

Magpie you can but they are very expensive...the male ones are going for the equivalent of €36 per month so I'm kind of hoping that the Dr may prescribe some. I'd order some from Amazon but most companies don't deliver here which would mean sending them to my parents first - that could cause some interesting conversations ;) Good to hear that acupuncture went well - fx for ov.

Jod1985 · 14/04/2016 13:31

I think if I start putting discharge into water DH may call the men in white coats for me lol!

I can't face testing right now. I'm just going to wait it out. I have it in my head that I'm waiting for AF and I'm blanking other thoughts out Grin

DizzyMerry · 14/04/2016 13:58

How frustrating for you jod. Hope you're out of limbo soon.

Magpie that sounds hopeful. Fx for you.

Ghengis I've read a lot about vit c being good for sperm and have heard good things on here about it too. DH starts off well with them and then falls back into his old ways. I need to whip him into submission Grin

Dizzy my DH was the same with his SA. We didn't really discuss it but he just went and got it on with it but I'm pretty sure he found the whole thing strange. Glad it's out of the way for you both and fx for the results.

Rainy34 · 15/04/2016 04:57

Hi ,last day in Vegas, flying home tomorrow, had such a lovely holiday, started clomid last Friday , took it at night and so far no side effects, so officially restarting ttc, hope you are all doing ok, will catch up and properly start joining in by the weekend, once I'm home X x

BorisIsBack · 15/04/2016 08:27

Rainy - lovely to see you, great news on the clomid. welcome back. Hope Vegas was fun?

OP posts:
DizzyNorthernBird · 15/04/2016 09:40

magpie and dizzym I'm glad it's not just my DP that found it weird! He said later that he just doesn't like the whole situation, that babies should come naturally when the time is right. I can appreciate what he's saying but waiting around hoping isn't going to get me anywhere is it! Anyway, it's done now, onwards to the next step.

magpie my temp has shot up this morning Angry as predicted. I was hoping for an anovulatory cycle instead as now I've got to wait frigging 15 days for af which will make this a 46 days cycle. The only good thing about that I suppose is that in the meantime I'll hopefully see GP to discuss next steps and I hopefully can squeeze in cd3 bloods if required.

rainy nice to see you back, hope you had fun!

MagpieCursedTea · 15/04/2016 10:12

DizzyN do you ever feel like your ovaries are out to get you? This whole thing would be so much easier if our bodies could just work with us! Did you manage to DTD? Although, as you've said it is good timing if they need to do further tests.

Rainy glad you had a lovely time in Vegas and that the Clomid is being kind to you so far. Fx this cycle (which I will now be calling the Vegas cycle) is the lucky one!

Jod how's things today?

Genghis that's pretty expensive and I can see how getting them shipped to your parents might be awkward! If your doctor can't prescribe them, I'm happy to buy them here for you and get them sent out if that would work out cheaper for you?

Waves to everyone else, happy Friday!

My temp was still low this morning but the OPK was getting a little darker yesterday. My PMT type symptoms seem to have lifted but I'm still getting some cramping. CD27 today, no idea what's going on!
I spoke to the gynaecology department yesterday and they don't have a date for my next scan and appointment yet but they reckon I should get the dates soon.

MagpieCursedTea · 15/04/2016 10:17

Forgot to mention, I had a tiny (like really tiny) but of spotting last night. No idea why, probably just to add to the confusion!

Jod1985 · 15/04/2016 10:38

I'm ok all. BFN on IC this morning. Just do not know what is going on. No bleeding & no BFP. Confused

DizzyMerry · 15/04/2016 12:07

With the benefit of hindsight dizzy I think our DHs/Dps are more affected by this than we give them credit for. My DH is exactly the same and says it will all happen at the right time and I keep having to tell him that while that is true we still need to have tests as there could well be something hindering our chances.

Rainy glad you had a lovely holiday. Fx for
you.

Magpie how confusing! Hopefully it's just a one off with the spotting and doesn't progress. Hope you do ov this cycle. Fx your scan and appointment come through quickly.

Sorry you're still in limbo jod. It's frustrating and I hope you get an answer one way or the other soon.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 15/04/2016 14:56

DizzyN My DP is quite similar about babies coming naturally and if we are facing IVF I know we will have to have a heated discussion very soon. To clarify, he's obviously pro IVF, but just doesn't really want to go down that line himself - he would prefer to just try naturally ad nauseum. I, on the other hand, cannot get my head around him saying "yes" to children but then putting restrictions on what he means. We will see....

Jod thanks for the tip about zinc, and sorry to hear you're still in limbo.

Rainy glad to hear that the clomid is going well, and that you had a lovely holiday!

Thanks Magpie that is very kind of you! I can't believe you've now had a bit of spotting to add to the mix - it's like your womb is like 'we'll throw a bit of everything at her this month, that should make her crazy.'

DizzyM how is your symptom spotting going?
