Cramping got worse waiting for AF to arrive now, maybe cycle 10 will be lucky xx

Jod1985 · 03/04/2016 14:56

It's stopped?! So maybe wishful thinking but implantation bleeding? I'm 6 days post ov I think.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 04/04/2016 10:04

Just popping by to say a huge congratulations to Lucie, BBH and Nurse. Spreading lots of baby dust to the rest of you.

lucieloos · 04/04/2016 21:52

Thanks so much dizzy, it's not been easy. I've been having quite a lot of bleeding the last few days though so not out of the woods yet unfortunately. Hope all is good with you.

Thanks also beautician.

Waves to everyone else.

DizzyMerry · 04/04/2016 22:44

Lucie I'll be keeping everything crossed for you and sending positive super sticky bean vibes your way. Will lurk on the other thread to see how you're getting on.

Fx it's a good sign jod.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 05/04/2016 00:45

Jod I hope it was implantation! Did you get anymore spotting?

Kellz How are you doing? I hope your DD is all better now.

Lucie I'm sorry to read about the bleeding. I too will be keeping everything crossed for you. x

Magpie How are your symptoms? I hope AF has stayed away?

Hi DizzyM. Hope there has been lots of dtd in the DizzyM Household!

No news from me - just waiting until tomorrow to collect DP's SA results.

Jod1985 · 05/04/2016 10:07

I had the brown spotting when I wiped on and off until yesterday. Now nada again?! Don't know what to think. My boobs are tingling still and I'm weeing a lot. Had pelvis pain last night and asleep shortly after 9pm. I feel like I might be PG but I'm afraid to get my hopes up. My body might be playing tricks and maybe this is all part of getting Minena removed. Will test Sunday if no AF by then

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 05/04/2016 11:44

It's hard isn't it, you don't want to get your hopes up but at the same time, you can't help it. It all sounds promising though and I really hope it is a BFP for you Jod

lucieloos · 05/04/2016 11:51

Thanks Ghengis, hope the SA results go well.

Jod, the first sign I had of my bfp was light brown / pink spotting for a day or so which then stopped. Had strong af pains overnight as well and was sure it was on its way.

Jod1985 · 05/04/2016 12:16

Yes with my other PG's I also had spotting and cramps. The only difference this time is I didn't have the mirena before so I guess it could be related to having it removed.

DizzyMerry · 05/04/2016 13:13

Yes ghengis plenty of it and although it was a quickie on most days it didn't feel like a chore and was actually enjoyable, who'd have thought it! Hope the SA results are all good.

Jod it's so hard not to symptom spot isn't it? I used to be rather laid back but since the mmc I'm like a loon and obsessed with symptom spotting and at the same time I hate getting my hopes up. Really hope it's a good sign for you.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 05/04/2016 22:46

Hooray for enjoyable dtd DizzyM! It's amazing how quickly, while TTC, it becomes a chore. I got DP's SA results but am a bit confused by them - there are five pages of results with various medical terms/tests and numbers. Are they always so thorough? Basically though, I think the sperm count and motility are good but there is/could be something wrong with morphology. Now to google how to improve morphology and then to get DP onboard

I also got my own results:
FSH: 5.0
LH: 6.48
Prolactin: 10.8ng/ml or 228mU/l
Estradiol: 33.0
TSH: 1.32
AMH: 4.9ng/ml or 35.3

After googling, I'm a bit concerned my AMH is too high and estradiol a bit on the low side but will just have to wait and talk to the doctor I guess. Anyway, it feels good to have got them done - another step done.

Jod I hope it has nothing to do with the mirena!

lucieloos · 06/04/2016 06:45

Ghengis your results are good! Your AMH is quite high which could possibly indicate pcos especially as you LH is also higher than your fsh. I can help with SA results if you need to know anything.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 06/04/2016 07:59

Thanks Lucie! Yes re the AMH and pcos - that's what I was reading. I should also add that all my results are from cd3. After a bumsnet intervention Grin I did ask about cd21 but the clinic refused. I meet the ob. gyn. in 2 weeks so will push it then.

As for the SA results, this is what I think I have:
Vol: 2.5ml
Count: 37 mill/ml. Then there's a page where they take a certain amount and from 1.5 ml they get mobility (a+b) of 46%. They also clean/treat (I blame google translate) a certain amount and get mobility (a+b) of 81%. After 24 hrs 35% are still alive and kicking. Then there's a page about the different types, the ph levels, vitality level, MAR test and loads more which I can't understand :(
The final pages are the morphology and I think this is where there is a bigger issue. I can't find a percentage but there is definitely a line about the amount of abnormalities. They studied 100 (?) and 8 were normal and 92 abnormal. I think I have an overall figure of 2.1 and have looked up and found that anything with higher than 1.6 will have problems with fertility. There's also a page with all the abnormalities.

Gosh, sorry that was so long. I think that his amount and motility are okay but morphology is a worry.

lucieloos · 06/04/2016 09:21

Ghengis, that's fine them being done on day 3. The only one you need on day 21 is progesterone.

I think the sperm concentration and motility sound fine. Did they give you a % of sperm that were normal or abnormal? Normally they would say 8% are normal which would be a good result.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 06/04/2016 10:32

Hi Lucie I can't see any percentage but hope the 8 is good! However, he definitely has an AMI of 2.01 (typo in my last post) and by that index, anything above 1.6 is not promising. There's also a conclusion where they highlight it and say that the amount of anomalies is worrying. Oh well - sure there's not much I can do until my next appointment apart from remove all processed food, alcohol, toxins etc etc but then he might leave me Grin. Thanks for your comments by the way - they are much appreciated x

Waves to everyone!

lucieloos · 06/04/2016 10:37

Its hard to know really Ghengis without seeing the report. Plenty of people get pregnant even with lower morphology though and if that doesn't work then IVF with icsi will resolve any morphology issues. Hopefully it won't come to that though and they will be able to have a good chat with you about it all at your next appt.

BorisIsBack · 06/04/2016 12:05

Genghis I would add that DH had 3 samples done, all had wildly varying results for no apparent reason. The worst was pretty much 0% of everything, but ivf with ICSI was my solution :) you'll get there. SA is not an exact science!!

OP posts:
DizzyMerry · 06/04/2016 12:35

Ghengis DH had 0% morphology but we conceived a month after the results. Lots of people conceive with poor morphology/sperm issues. After getting advice on here he's been taking 1000mg vit c and Wellman vits as they're said to improve sperm quality.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 06/04/2016 12:43

Thank you Lucie, Boris and DizzyM for your advice and kind words. xx I shall purchase those vitamins tomorrow and talk him into taking them when he gets back!

MagpieCursedTea · 06/04/2016 15:02

Genghis would that be 8% morphology then do you think? From what I remember that's not bad. It's quite normal for a lot of sperm to be the wrong shape I think. DH has 2% morphology and we conceived DS. I call them his x-men, I find that much funnier than he does Grin

How's everyone else getting on?
I'm still feeling hormonal and cramping but no bleeding. I'm CD18 and am becoming resigned to the fact that my body just does weird stuff. Must be the PCOS. Lost a bit more weight this week though as I've been working really hard to do at least 10,000 steps a day (I did 17,000 on my best day) which seems to be making a difference.

chopsface · 06/04/2016 17:33

Sticking my beak in again :-) dh had 4 SA's which ranged from 2% to 5% and we conceived our bean! It did take us 32 cycles but we got there in the end! Interestingly we got preg 3 months after dh started taking 1000mg vit C tablets but a lot of other factors had changed too including giving up caffeine and cutting dramatically back on fags over a longer period.

chopsface · 06/04/2016 17:37

The % was morphology by the way Grin

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 07/04/2016 02:21

Thanks for the reassurance Chops - 32 cycles though?! I'm in awe - I'm currently on cycle 17 and losing the will!

Magpie if I saw a % sign I'd feel more confident about the 8 but really can't see one. Only a week and a half until my next appointment so I guess I'll find out then.I hadn't realised that there could be such a high percent of abnormalities and I really like the idea of X-men Grin. Strange that you're still having the cramps etc - what are your temperatures doing? Do you think you've ov'ed? Congratulations on the weight loss as well btw - very impressive.

I hope everyone else is doing well?
