Thank you, I can't quite believe it so did a digi to make sure, and yep, it's right x

MagpieCursedTea · 29/03/2016 20:22

Congratulations Rosie!! Thanks

Rainy34 · 29/03/2016 20:28

Boris thank you , I'm good , how is things with you?! X

gengis wow what a mission you are going through!!

Magpie I'm really good , the non trying has been tough as dh does not want to do it Incase I get pregnant ,I would still keep trying as I'm sure when you get pregnant , you will be so happy that it won't matter

dizzy it's good to be back I think if my cycle is correct il start the 9 April on the clomid, I really want to try reflexology , I hope it works for you

nurserose looks like congratulations is in order

Sammy how are things with you?

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 30/03/2016 02:39

What a fabulous line Rosie! Congratulations - wonderful news!

Glad you've come to a decision Magpie and the month off from obsessive TTC madness will be nice.

DizzyM enjoy the reflexology and acupuncture. Is it tomorrow/today that you have your tests, or have I got that completely wrong?

Jod how are you getting on?

Rainy not long till 9th April! Good luck with the clomid.

How are you doing Sammy? Have you gone for your follow up meeting with the clinic yet?

Ha ha at the mini break and yes, the sarong was instead of a gown, though why they didn't just give me one of them I don't know! Thankfully I didn't have to wear it in the waiting room Grin I can't believe they made you abstain for a month Boris - it seems a bit over the top, when clearly you could just take a pregnancy test.Confused I guess it's good they're careful though.

The HSG was fine - mildly uncomfortable but no real pain or cramps, and the nurse and doctor were lovely. I think the worst part was the affront to my dignity (not aided by the fact that the doctor was young and gorgeous). I read his findings and from what I can understand, he seems to think that there are no abnormalities. The dye went in fine with no blockages (though slightly faster in one fallopian tube). My next steps are waiting for DP's SA and my blood results, and then we meet with the gynaecologist again.

NurseRosie · 30/03/2016 07:30

Thank you all so much, we are over the moon.
Enjoy your relaxed month Magpie. Maybe a month of not worrying and testing will help you relax and that's always good.
DizzyM I hope the alternative therapies help on your mission, FX for you. Again I'm sure they will help you to relax a bit aswell.
Rainy, good luck on the clomid, I hope you don't have any probs with it. I'm rooting for you.
Genghis it sounds like you've been through it this last week but I hope it's all fir the good and worth it. The report you read sounds positive so hopefully you won't be waiting to long to see gynae.
Thank you for all if your support over the months, the support has been amazing x

BorisIsBack · 30/03/2016 08:34

Rainy - I'm good thanks. Trying and failing to relax and not over analyse everything.

Genghis, congrats for the hsg. Mine was a completely undignified experience. I had 5 people in the room all watching my fanjo. Good training ground for ivf egg collection.... At least you can move onto the rest of the tests, armed with the knowledge that your tubes are doing what they should.

Mummy2squish · 30/03/2016 09:03

Congratulations rosie and glad your hsg went well ghenghis.

Hope everyone else is doing well? Hanging in there?

Not much to update here. I've booked reflexology for next week. Went for a wee this morning and had a really sore achey pain after around my c-section scar so that was a new one for me. Full of cold today. If I actually did ovulate (haha) I would be about 9dpo I reckon but I'm not very hopeful to be honest. Just focussing on my apt next week and will take it from there.

DizzyMerry · 30/03/2016 09:10

Rosie you've got a lovely line there, congratulations.

Ghengis I'm so pleased the HSG went well
for you and things are clear in there. Good luck with the SA and blood tests. I forgot to mention our appointment was cancelled by CARE last Thursday as apparently they don't have enough staff in to do the various tests today and no other appointments available until next week. I've left it for next month as I am coming up to my fertile window now.

It's so hard not to over analyse things boris and relaxing seems impossible to do. Have you got a scan booked yet? Or do you get these as part of the IVF plan?

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 31/03/2016 03:07

Well fingers crossed Squish, and hope you start feeling better soon. Good news that you didn't have to wait long for your appointment.

Annoying about the tests DizzyM but at least you have another date. Enjoy the reflexology and acupuncture.

5 people Boris?! Yikes. I can only imagine how anxious you are feeling - do you get additional care due to the IVF? And do you have to keep taking medication for a while?

Hello to everyone!

MagpieCursedTea · 31/03/2016 07:30

Rainy well hopefully not long now until you get to start trying! How are you feeling about the Clomid? It must be exciting!

Genghis glad the hsg went well, I hope the other tests come through soon. I'm sure I remember hearing that some women can be more fertile after an hsg (something to do with it clearing tubes?)

Squish I hope the cold and the pain is better. It might be worth getting the pain checked out if it carries on. Hopefully it's a good sign though.

DizzyM sorry to hear that tests got cancelled. Fx for your fertile window!

Do you all mind having a look at my chart please? I haven't ovulated (it's very early anyway) and my temps are all over as usual. I've been getting much lower temps than normal though. I usually range roughly between 35.9 and 36.5 pre ov and then if I actually do ov it goes about 36.6ish.
I've been as low as 35.5 this cycle though. Could there be any reason for this or significance? Could the metformin be causing it?

Welcome to bumsnet
MagpieCursedTea · 31/03/2016 20:03

For anyone who is not on our Facebook group but wants to be (I get that some of you might want stay anonymous though!) send me a PM and I'll add you. It's a secret group so won't show up on your 'groups I'm in' thing on fb and there's lots of very knowledgable bumsnet grads on there who are very helpful!

DizzyMerry · 31/03/2016 20:44

It's rather quiet on here!

Magpie I used to get lowish temps too compared to others but not sure why. Have you been taking your temp at different times? Disturbed sleep? Sorry I'm just clutching at straws here and don't know what could be causing it. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will be along soon with some advice.

I had reflexology yesterday and although I had a few sessions with another lady last year I'm still not sure how I feel about it. She mentioned a couple of things which were spot on such as my tense shoulder and some lower back stiffness but I didn't actually find it relaxing at all! I'm going back next week but I think I'll stick with acupuncture.

Jod1985 · 31/03/2016 20:47

Hi ladies, I'm doing well thanks genghis Smile
I am trying not to get obsessed but it's tough right?!
I'm still thinking I ovulated on Monday and I DTD Sunday and Tuesday so let's just hope I get a BFP in a couple of weeks.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 31/03/2016 23:14

Nearly impossible not to be Jod! Fx for BFP.

Interesting about the reflexology DizzyM - it definitely wouldn't be for me because I hate people touching my feet. Good idea to give it another chance though.

Sorry Magpie but I don't have any ideas about your temperatures either. Have your temps been consistently down since you started metformin, or just this cycle? I like the idea of cleaning out the tubes - just a pity that DP has headed away. If I get pregnant this cycle I shall be one of those people that says "Just relax. I only dtd once and here I am, pregnant!" Grin

It is quiet on here - hope everyone is keeping well? DizzyN hope you're back to full health and are just too busy doing warm up exercises and stretches for your marathon!

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 31/03/2016 23:15

And thanks Magpie I'll PM you - any and all advice will be gratefully received!

birdboo · 01/04/2016 00:14

Hello ladies. I'm on cd4 now, AF came and seems to be going uneventfully. I took a few days offline and feel better for it. Deleted ovia to.

Hope everyone is muddling along.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 01/04/2016 02:24

Hi Bird, sorry about AF. Glad you're feeling better now and Fx for this coming cycle!

Magpie and other FB people - this is a stupid question but I need reassurance. If you post in the secret group, will your post come up in your own newsfeed? I'm kind of confident that it won't come up in my friends' newsfeeds but got such a shock when a post I wrote came up in mine that I deleted it in a tizzy, fearing I had posted in the wrong area and I had basically told all of my FB that I was TTC.

Kirjava · 01/04/2016 05:38

genghis yes it comes up on your own newsfeed but definitely not on your friends' (unless they are also a member of the secret group and you are friends with them separately IYSWIM)

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 01/04/2016 06:25

Thanks Kirjava...phew!

BorisIsBack · 01/04/2016 07:23

Genghis we all have that fear, but it's very discreet - come on over!

OP posts:
BorisIsBack · 01/04/2016 07:24

Magpie I can't help with your temps, sorry lovely.

OP posts:
MagpieCursedTea · 01/04/2016 21:49

DizzyM no difference in sleep and taking temps at the same time. It must be something to do with the metformin! Interesting that the reflexologist could figure out so much about you. No harm in carrying on and even better if it helps! I think it can just feel good to feel like you're being proactive. So much about TTC is passive and that's frustrating.

Jod fx for you, I hope you can find a distraction from symptom spotting!

Genghis I hope you can be one of those stories! My temps weren't as low last cycle when I started the met but did drop a lot at the end.
Also, to add more reassurance nothing you post on the fb group can be seen by anyone outside the group. In fact, it's a 'secret' group so can't even be found in searches.

Bird sorry for AF, fx for this cycle!

Boris thanks anyway, it seems like a bit of a conundrum! Hope you're keeping well Smile

So yesterday I started getting some PMT symptoms and today the cramping started. I usually get up to a week of this before AF so it must be on it's way. I'm only CD13 though Confused stupid irregular cycles.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 01/04/2016 23:28

That's so confusing Magpie. I wonder will AF appear or if the symptoms will subside (which I hope is the case). It does sound like your temps are metformin related, and thanks for the reassurance btw.

I got baby-bombed today, and it really hurt. To be honest, I'm at the stage where I have psyched myself up for them as at this age they seem to happen about once a week! But today was a close family member, and I really am happy for them but I cried my eyes out after getting off the phone. Then I felt like a real bitch feeling such envy. Then I cried some more. Sigh. I really need to woman up because I know there will be another announcement coming in the next few months from close family.

I hope everyone's Fridays went well, and you have exciting plans for the weekend!

BabyBumpHopeful · 02/04/2016 01:01

Congrats NurseRosie and lucieloo !!

I'm back again after another hiatus to tell you all I got my BFP today! I've attached 2 photos. The first one with the 2 tests and my ring has the BFP and a blank test (for comparison) taken well within the time frame. The second one is the 3 tests after about 1/2 hour and they've dried a bit.

Stats for anyone curious:

DH and I started TTC in Jan 2015. I started off doing BBT and OPKs and it appeared like I ov'd around CD20. I've never had a hint of a positive HPT even though I've had had 2 delayed periods.

I had blood work in Aug/Sept 2015 that showed "normal" according to that doc, as well as an ultrasound that showed I had 4 follicles on one and 5 on the other. I saw a specialist in March this year that told me my insulin was elevated and I was "insulin resistant". I was prescribed Metformin and started 500mg Metformin on March 2 and this cycle started on March 5 (perfect timing). Upped metformin to 1000mg on March 9 and then to 1500mg on March 16. I've been taking it religiously since then. I also have been taking a multi with folic acid since we started TTC and I'm on omeprazole 20mg DR for reflux.

I noticed EWCM on CD14 so started using OPKs. DH and I DTD on CD13, 15 and 16. Positive OPK on CD17. DH wasn't feeling well so we didn't DTD that day.

On Monday this week I had a root canal and I was prescribed antibiotics while I'm waiting for a crown. I was warned they might have an effect on my intestines. Wednesday overnight I had really bad reflux. Normally my omeprazole stops any issues but I put it down to having a sip of coke too close to bed and eating these delicious biscuits the day before, must have been too acidic. On Thursday during the day I felt a little bit nauseous and had a bit of indigestion. Today (Friday) the indigestion has sucked and nothing has helped (tums, gas-x, alka seltzer) so I thought I'd take a test to stop myself doing the "hey maybe I'm pregnant" dance again. I really didn't expect a positive and my DH isn't even here!

My plan for "the reveal" (because seriously, April Fools Day?!) worked out pretty well. I got my blood test bill (from the progesterone, rubella and A1c) today and my plan is to say something like "Just got the blood test bill. Ugh. Good thing you don't need to have a sperm test anymore..." Should be interesting to see how he reacts!

I'm still not sure I believe it myself honestly and I think I'm still in a bit of shock!
