Oops, posted too soon - mn keeps freezing up on me , I forgot how annoying that habit was. Cups it'll be 6w2d - 6w6d, because I need to know whether there's actually a foetal pole there this time or not, regardless of heartbeat. A heartbeat would be fantastic, but right now I'd settle for even knowing there was a baby at all.

Loving all the bump-hiding challenges, I'm going to see how long I can blame it on bad wind Grin

Imps9 · 12/04/2016 19:48

Hmm, what to say if someone asks me outright if I'm pregnant... maybe "are you suggesting I look fat? Piss off you rude bastard." That ought to do it or at the very least get me reported to HR

Grrrrrr to prescription Geek. Keep seems to have struck it lucky getting her GP to do hers - mine wouldn't cover mine either. Just how did you manage it Keep??

You will have a baby this time Geek. You will you will you will.

ControlGeek · 12/04/2016 19:52

How did you get yours done imps?

Imps9 · 12/04/2016 20:06

Through Bourn Hall, which is where I'd had my IVF treatments, and where I was due to start my third the month after I got this BFP! They had added heparin, intralipids etc to the next treatment plan and we're happy to prescribe it for me even though this isn't an IVF BFP. That's actually the reason the GP wouldn't prescribe - because the prescription had been a private one to begin with, the NHS apparently won't take it over.

keepitgoing · 12/04/2016 20:11

I got my clinic to phone my gp, but they said only about half the clinics cover it. geek they might give you a private prescription if you pay them, is the issue you don't have a prescription at all? But I only got it once my clinic were discharging me at 7 weeks post scan. geek how much do you have before you run out?

imps you just can't know how you'll look. I am slim but didn't show for ages. But regardless no one can say anything, love your responses too. 'Are you pregnant?' 'Ha ha, are you?' And walk off. But surely nobody would be that brazen

cups it's so good to hear from you. Kip was a godawful sleeper too, it's sooo crazy exhausting isn't it? Glad you're enjoying it anyway. Exciting to move house! Same area?

keepitgoing · 12/04/2016 20:11

Half of GPs will cover it, d'oh

ControlGeek · 12/04/2016 20:20

Ahh I see imps so it's the clinic that would have treated you anyway.

My prescription was supposed to be a private one, not an NHS one, and my gp has already done private prescriptions for my oestrogen/progesterone, clexane and pred, but they won't do the intralipids. I have none, keep, and need to have them at the end of this week or at the latest next monday. I'll just have to bite the bullet and call some clinics tomorrow and swallow the consultant's fee that will no doubt be incurred to discuss my history before they will give me a prescription.

keepitgoing · 12/04/2016 20:22

Can your Spanish clinic not send a prescription that'd be accepted here?

ControlGeek · 12/04/2016 20:25

No keep, UK pharmacies are only allowed to accept prescriptions issued by uk-registered practitioners. The spanish clinic have given me all of the information that a uk prescriber would need to raise a prescription, I just can't get anyone at my gp surgery to do it. If they'd told me that when I first submitted t he documentation last Friday I would at least have had a week to work on it.

Imps9 · 12/04/2016 20:36

I think that phoning around is your best bet Geek. I hope you don't need a consultant's appointment.

keepitgoing · 12/04/2016 20:55

The bastards, how annoying. Your old clinic here might do it I suppose. Good luck, boo to unnecessary stress x

BeedlesPineNeedles · 13/04/2016 06:25

How flipping annoying geek I do hope you manage to get it sorted today. If its any consolation I doubt I'd be able to get anything other than progetsreone prescribed here, even by a private clinic. If you don't have any luck with anyone local would it be Worth phoning some of the bigger clinics in London - they often seem to be a bit more willing to try other stuff. Though if they made you have a consultation it would probably be cheaper to fly to Spain!.

imps sounds like you have it covered! Though floaty cardigans and drapey scarves really aren't going to work when I'm in my bathing suit in front of my colleagues!

cups back to work and moving house, sounds stressful

OP posts:
Imps9 · 13/04/2016 06:48

Luckily I'm not often in my bathing suit at work Beedles Grin And wearing floaty cardis and scarves is part of my normal attire too, so it won't look unusual.

I forget where in the UK you are Geek but Bourn Hall have been brilliant and really quite willing to help. Hopefully you can find a local clinic who will prescribe, but if not, maybe give BH a try too.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 13/04/2016 06:53

me neither imps but its a bit unavoidable at a conference at a spa. Well I could claim I didn't feel like relaxing in the spa bit for a couple of hours Before dinner but that would be just mad. Though I have Heard that bloating goes down a bit for a while Before the proper bump appears - is this true wise previously preggo ones?

OP posts:
Imps9 · 13/04/2016 07:00

Aaahh yes, your "conference" where you clearly all have to work massively hard while spending all your time in a gorgeous looking spa Wink Grin

I've always had a bloated stomach despite being fit and healthy so am not expecting mine to go down much. Looking forward to the day I don't have to be quite to self-conscious about it!

What sort of swim suit do you have? Mine's a tankini with a fair bit of ruching (sp?) so would probably actually be quite good for bump disguise.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 13/04/2016 08:57

we only get a couple of hours of free time to enjoy the spa and get changed for dinner - but early evening is usually when I look most bloated! No useful disguise from my plain boring swimsuit either. the only good thing is that it will be Before I refuse all alcohol at dinner (the other big giveaway) so perhaps less likelihood that anyone will put 2 + 2 together!

imps you'll have to become my friend on FB so I can make you jealous with the spa photos!!

keepitgoing · 13/04/2016 09:41

I'd take a nap instead, but that's just me... I felt less bloated after stopping the progesterone

imps just 5 days. Wait are you 12 weeks now????

Imps9 · 13/04/2016 09:52

Am 12+2 today Keep! Yes, just 5 days to go and a nice weekend planned before that.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 13/04/2016 10:14

almost 1/3rd done imps well done you :o

OP posts:
ControlGeek · 13/04/2016 12:39

Time to go bathing suit shopping, beedle? You can get ones with skirts these days, too!

Gosh imps well done lovely, I'd say that's come round quickly but I know it certainly won't feel that way to you.

Intralipids are sorted, there's a clinic that will do the whole bundle for me. It's not exactly close, but mrG has said he'll get us a hotel near there the night before. They've slotted me in for this Friday morning.

In other news... MrG threw away this morning's pee stick!!!!! "What did you want to keep it for?" was his reply when I asked him why!

Imps9 · 13/04/2016 12:40

Ooooh some strong tugging sensations either side of my uterus where I always imagine my ovaries to be. Assuming these are ligaments stretching. All these new sensations to experience! Fingers crossed it's a sign of Barry-Baxter getting bigger.

keepitgoing · 13/04/2016 12:43

Ooh that's great geek and a mini break too!

Imps9 · 13/04/2016 12:52

Geek! The man is clearly a moron!!! How on earth could he throw a peestick away??????

Brilliant news that you have your first intralipid sorted! And you get a nice evening away the night before too! Sounds perfect.

QueenMolotov · 13/04/2016 13:17

Well, hello everyone!

Apologies for my absence. I was lurking and then noticed that Imps is 12w pg, so I wanted to nip in to say:

Woo-hoooooooooooooooooooo! HUGE CONGRATULATIONS! So very happy for you! GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

I couldn't make out if there were other BFP pee sticks or +ve OPKs. Would someone mind please filling me in on other pregnancies I might have missed?

As for me, I'm 17+1 today. I had constant nausea through the first trimester and another chest infection which needed antibiotics (boo!), but got over that and all was well at my 12w scan. We had a sexing scan on Saturday, which our dds attended and ... it looks like a baby boy! We're all really thrilled and and the girls were delighted to see their baby brother on the scan screen.

It's stressful house-hunting and being pg, though. I would prefer not to be organising moving, but we just have to. Unfortunately, we were gazumped on Monday on a house I had my heart set on, which was upsetting (for me. DH wasn't so sure about it). Still, onwards with the search!

Imps9 · 13/04/2016 14:48

Ooooooof have just been really really sick - this after almost a week of nothing but a couple of token voms. Odd why it should be so inconsistent.

Hello Mol! Nice to see you - glad all's progressing well. We have Keep, Beedles and Geek who are currently all with child. Trix is in Shag Week, so will be getting her BFP in the next couple of weeks, and Loops is probably coming up to Shag Week soon, so her BFP will not be long after that Smile
