Oh loops I'm so sorry, it's horrible. I agree I don't think ivf would help unless I suppose you did pgs but as you say it's unlikely they're all duff. If you're worried about money could you ask parents for a loan/gift?

You could try taking coq10, have you read 'it starts with the egg'? Though it sounds like there is something more going on.

I always thought I'd have a big family. Now I am ecstatic to hopefully have 2. I will not be trying for a third. I'm not saying give up but I hope you can not let this get in the way of enjoying your boys' wonderful early years.

How's dh?

keepitgoing · 07/04/2016 08:24

trix what news?

cartoontrickster · 07/04/2016 08:47

Nowt keep no shagging as yet, N hasn't been sleeping well for some reason .
I think ov will be over the weekend so should get to it really.I've only got 2 ov sticks & I didn't bother buying more as I'm skint and they haven't helped so far. There are no pee sticks in the house either.

ControlGeek · 07/04/2016 08:49

oh Loopy I am so sorry, life is truly shit. I think you're right about IVF not offering anything you don't already achieve on your own but like beedle has said, perhaps an alternative therapy might be introduced? I'm sorry, I've not kept up the last few months of the thread - have they tried you with prednisolone? Also, my clinic don't rate NK/immune testing, they say there are too many false negatives, they just put their clients straight onto the intralipids anyway if it comes to it.

Imps9 · 07/04/2016 10:27

Actually, you've reminded me - that's what my clinic said too re NK cells Geek. They knew of the Coventry testing and said that those tests alone didn't give the complete picture. The consultant said that the full tests would cost around £2500, but their advice was to spend the money on the intralipids rather than the tests.

Yes, Loops, maybe try intralipid infusions next time. Prices per drip from clinic to clinic, but I would recommend phoning your nearest private clinic and enquiring.

Booking in bloods done this morning. The nurse was v nice - she was like me and left everything until the last minute because she had had lots of miscarriages and didn't want to waste time on appointments until it looked like baby was going to stick. In fact by the time she went into labour, she still hadn't bought a buggy or any baby clothes so her Mum had to rush out and get everything while she was giving birth!

cartoontrickster · 07/04/2016 10:40

I agree that it may be worth while throwing some pred and/or lipids at the situation loopy surely there is nothing to lose.
I had 4 total at £350 each if I remember correctly. The consultation who looked after me at the local hospital didn't believe in nkcells really though she reckoned I was being ripped off by the private doc! Apparently because they aren't testing the cells in your womb just in your body so isnt really accurate. I wasn't willing to risk it and I did start the meds from bfp rather than from ov as I was ment to, so who knows if it helped or not but certainly it didn't hinder.

Imps9 · 07/04/2016 10:44

Mine have cost £250 each, but I saw a Manchester clinic charging £170 each.

It can do no harm to try.

ControlGeek · 07/04/2016 12:07

Eek, I've just booked the appointment for my next intralipids - confirmed as £200 at my clinic (plus whatever the cost of the drugs is when I get them).

cartoontrickster · 07/04/2016 12:25

Blimey didn't realise the cost varied so much!

keepitgoing · 07/04/2016 12:54

Yay geek when's that?

keepitgoing · 07/04/2016 12:55

As for me I'm finding excuses not to go and talk to my boss. Busy, doncha know not too busy for you lot

Imps9 · 07/04/2016 13:03

Just do it Keep! Why are you apprehensive about talking to her/him (can't remember which, sorry!)

BeedlesPineNeedles · 07/04/2016 13:15

Come on keep stop being a wimp you can do it! I'm working not very hard from home today because I was brave enough to tell my boss yesterday.

imps you asked about if I could speak the language Before I came here. I learnt a bit from MrB and from teach yourself books, and then I did a couple of evening language courses Before I moved so I could speak fairly well. Then I was lucky enough to get on a full-time course here for highly-skilled foreigners. (the aim was to get us into jobs that we were already qualified for rather than wasting our skills in the kind of low-level jobs that are usually available to people who have just moved to Another country)

It was proper full-time like a job (not like University!) - though I did get to skip the English lessons! Then I learnt a whole load more.

cartoontrickster · 07/04/2016 13:38

Yes keep just deep breath and go for it!

ControlGeek · 07/04/2016 14:03

Come on Keep you can do it :)

Beedle that's amazing, such confidence! Did it help having MrB to talk to for practice? I've done an evening course in Spanish and some book learning, but I still have panic attacks when I have to ask at the hotel reception for a kettle Grin

I'm a bit nervous as I've just worked out that my intralipids are booked for 5w2d, and I'm currently only 3w5d and that seems sooooo far away. It's really only a week on Monday though.

Getting the intralipids done in Spain costs 250 euro, and that includes the medication itself - that's about £197 (not including flights and hotel though...)

Imps9 · 07/04/2016 14:11

Are you going to Spain for the drips, Geek?

Sounds like you're having one on the same day as my scan - 18 April. Time has pretty much stopped these days - feels like I've been waiting for the dating scan for years.

ControlGeek · 07/04/2016 14:12

Not unless I absolutely have to Imps, my local scanning clinic should be good to go. I'm running very low on annual leave and it's only April! I swear clocks run backwards as soon as you get that first faint line!

BeedlesPineNeedles · 07/04/2016 14:39

It does go really slowly, but at the same time I'm nearly 1/4 of the way through, how did that happen? (we won't Think about the fact that the first 4 weeks don't really Count - though I did have just as many dildocam Scans Before 4 weeks as afterwards!

geek me and MrB speak English together, it feels really weird to speak Swedish to him! Though he is one of the few people who'll correct me if I say something wrong.

keepitgoing · 07/04/2016 15:05

geek you are 3+6 today is 8dp5dt.
beedle I think with ivf and fet the first 4 weeks DEFINITELY count, they are the hardest!!

Imps9 · 07/04/2016 15:20

I agree re: the first 4 weeks of IVF/FET Keep!

Loopy I do hope you're doing okay, lovely.

ControlGeek · 07/04/2016 15:26

Keep you apparently don't count the first day of your cycle, because what you're saying is how many complete days and weeks you are, so day 1 is 0w0d, day 2 is 0w1d, etc. Very frustrating. I feel robbed of a day!

BeedlesPineNeedles · 07/04/2016 16:36

No, have they stolen a day from us? I get confused here, I'm 9w+4 but here they would say I'm in my 10th week. Which is correct week 0 is the first week. But when it gets to the stage of people asking how far along I am I going to be confused about do I say 9 weeks or 10th week. I think with anyone medical I'll just have be exact with weeks and days.

You're probably right about the 1st 4 weeks counting with Ivf, especially fresh cycles, and travelling for you geek.

ControlGeek · 07/04/2016 16:45

Sorry Beedle Sad

Imps9 · 07/04/2016 16:51

Beedles your due date may be dictated by the size of your baby at your scan, if the system is anything like it is here - then you will know what exact dates you are based on your due date.

keepitgoing · 07/04/2016 17:02

Hmm I'm not convinced geek. At 14dpo you are 4 weeks

beedle I'd just say 9 weeks, or nearly 10 weeks, most people won't care that much! Medical say 9+4!
