Ok so af is here.. Not the best news but at least I had a 29 day cycle which is good. Now I need to work out temping to try see if I ov.

Baby dust to all.

VillageFete · 05/02/2016 08:36

Cwtchy I tried SMEP last month (although it was futile as I didn't ovulate) I think it can work for PCOS'ers if you have a fairly regularish cycle or if like me, you are traking ovulation with something like the clearblue digital fertility monitor. The way it works is you get a reading the says "high" once it sees your hormones hearing up for ovulation, so once I get a high I BD every other day. Once the monitor reads "peak" it means you will ovulate in 24-36 hours (I never got a peak last month) When you get peak you BD for 3 days consecutively and then miss a day and then do it one more time for good luck. I'll be doing it this month & i'm shattered thinking of it already!

Well AF is coming today, can feel it. Onwards & upwards and praying February is my month.

Still thinking about clomid, as i'm lucky enough to ovulate on my own some months. Decisions , decisions....

Morning, trying to catch up!

rose I agree, she's lovely but she is a bit crap. I'm just hoping I can get what I need once we've been referred. It also occurred to me that she should probably have done a blood test to diagnose? She just looked at the sonographers notes and assumed that was that. She seems to just assume I'll get pg soon so dismisses my feelings.

amy the reason I asked is that there's a lot of evidence to suggest that auto immune disorders (like psoriasis) are caused by food intolerances. And disorders with the immune system can also cause pcos.....just worth a thought!

ain I'm seriously considering trying soy next cycle if you want to do it together? Smile

DizzyNorthernBird · 05/02/2016 09:44

Also......I realised the other day that DP's mum is type 2 and on metformin.....would it be very naughty of me to drop hints to see if she'll give me some of hers? Wink Grin Although I wouldn't know what to do with it if I got it!

DizzyNorthernBird · 05/02/2016 10:11

cwtchy I've heard of smep but I've always felt it would be impossible to follow with irregular afs unless you are particularly enthusiastic ttc'ers! DP and I lose enthusiasm after a week or so, eod indefinitely would be soul destroying for us! My latest tactic is to just concentrate my efforts around any spells of fertile cm instead.

Also, [shock) at the price of ovusense! My ears did prick up when you mentioned it but not sure if I could afford that. If it worked first time I would be Smile but also Hmm as you can't exactly sell it on second hand to make your money back! Lol.

sunny I am in the same boat as you! Had my scan last month and was told I have pco, not sure if I have the syndrome though due to lack of or very very mild symptoms. Cycles are between 30-52 days, temping indicates I'm ovulating each month and day 21 bloods showed a healthy level of prog. Due to this GP won't prescribe me anything to help but we are waiting for a referral once DP's sperm is looked at. I've been ttc 12 cycles. I'm a bit concerned about you being told you haven't ovulated, with that chart I would have said you had? Now I'm questioning whether I am ovulating too.....

elle fx the sore boobs and stabby-feelings are a good sign!

I poas this morning, bfn at 10dpo. Not sure why I bothered as I've got zero symptoms and chart looks the same as it always does.

CwtchyQ · 05/02/2016 14:58

dizzy it is expensive! I do feel a bit Blush that I've spent that much but hey ho! I'll let you know if it's worth it...

Okay so SMEPing isn't going to work for me at present because my cycles are long and unpredictable. I am having sex eod as much as possible and I have just been for my electro acupuncture which was intense! The lady doing it was fabulous - so refreshing to talk to someone who is up to date on PCOS. I'm now on 2000mg of Agnus Castus (my old friend...), 2000mg of fish oil (not cod liver, not good for conception apparently) and 2000mg of Vit D3. We're carrying on with the electro acupuncture sessions until I ovulate, so watch this space...

Hello ladies

For those of you that don't know me I was on the 1st page of the 1st thread. Had PCOS since I was 17, 34 now. Was on dianette all those years. I had 2g of Inositol a day for 9mths, 5 cycles and 2 cycles of 50mg Clomid to get my BFP. I developed GD at 28 weeks but managed it purely with diet. Put on 20kgs and got quite a telling off from the diabetes specialist. On 02/02/16 baby Rufus arrived. He is named Joshua-James. I really hope that all of you get your BFP soon and that this is a positive and not upsetting story for anyone xxx

Rufus ! Congratulations. He's beautiful! And a nice message of hope. I was definitely on the first page, so def remember you. Wink

Ain626 · 05/02/2016 19:26

Oh, and Dizzy I've started taking soy this cycle now, but happy to be soy partners. Grin

Pebbles086 · 05/02/2016 21:04

Wow rufus I remember when you got your BFP!! Doesn't seem that long ago! He is perfectly beautiful!! Hope your doing well. Nice to see a happy ending GrinStar

I am not too bad banana my op is end of this month and have my IVF appt. the following week. The plan was to have it done before Dec and be healed by the appt. but the only other date they could offer was 2 days before Xmas. No thanks!!!
You have give me some hope. I am hoping it could work for me too. My AMH was 93! And I've managed to get a regular 30 day cycle, not bad considering I didn't have AF for 9 months. So praying that could contribute to it working.
Hi Cwtchy hope the break from the thread means a fresh start for you and this is your time for everything to work out.

Xx

Tryingtowait · 05/02/2016 21:35

Ain what is soy meant to do? X

Ain626 · 06/02/2016 02:38

Trying it's known as 'nature's clomid'. I'm hoping it will help shorten my cycles a little... (and possibly help me ovulate).

Tryingtowait · 06/02/2016 08:11

Oh, I see. Fx it helps. This whole ttc world is completely new to me. I just signed up to fertility friend, I'm hoping not to obsess on the tww next month but my sister is due her baby then so I'll be visiting her. Obviously happy for her but a bit jealous too :(

CwtchyQ · 06/02/2016 09:19

trying well that's completely understandable, it's bloody hard watching everyone around you getting pregnant and having babies. Don't beat yourself up about it, you'll get there too.

Tryingtowait · 06/02/2016 09:24

I always feel bad because I already have my ds so feel like wanting it this bad that I'm saying he's not enough when he is I'd just love for him to have a brother or sister. I know how lucky I am though

DizzyNorthernBird · 06/02/2016 09:44

ain af is due weds for me so I'll dig the capsules out then. Have you followed any particular advice regarding dosage and timing? Did you start on cd1? I know there was a detailed thread on how to use soy but I was just wondering whether there are any more 'formal' guidelines to follow....

VillageFete · 06/02/2016 10:20

Rufus Your boy is beautiful, congratulations!

Oh for fuck's sake!!! DP is traveling to Barbados for a week soon (Work event) and Zika virus now has me worried sick. It says to abstain from TTC for a month after he returns, but for 6 months if he shows any symptoms.

I know a months isn't the end of the world, but I am so fed up with all of this now. The thought of missing a month makes me feel sick. Can't even think about waiting for 6 months...

Come on February, you are my only hope. Please, please give me a BFP!!!

CwtchyQ · 06/02/2016 10:49

trying just because you have a DS doesn't mean you can't long for another. I have DD but I don't think for one second that my extremely good fortune should stop me from desperately wanting my body to do the same for me again. It's a completely natural desire. Don't keep beating yourself up!

village fuck sake that's so annoying! Is the virus in Barbados? I have got one hilarious idea worth a go Grin but I don't think your DH will be as willing! I always use that Avon So Soft body oil (the green one) to prevent getting bitten when I go away and it has always worked a charm! Take a look on Amazon, apparently even the SAS use it! Perhaps he could get some and use it?! GrinGrinGrin can't believe I've actually just suggested that. Here's hoping Feb is your month!

Got occasional ov-type pains this morning which is unsurprising given the fact that I effectively shocked my ovaries yesterday. Already I feel like shit on the agnus castus too but I really need to keep on...

VillageFete · 06/02/2016 11:02

Cwtchy According to the BBC travel advice it is. HAHAHA!! I will order some! What does agnus cactus do?

CwtchyQ · 06/02/2016 11:12

village it's supposed to regulate irregular cycles. I used it before for a few months when I got pregnant with DD and it worked like a charm. It's potent as fuck though! Holland and Barrett only sell the weak stuff now (4mg!) whereas you need 1000mg-2000mg a day to see a difference. I got mine off Amazon. Do not use if your periods are regular though, because it totally buggers them up!
