Vit B inositol, it's something that helps process sugar. It comes up recommended quite often

MagpieCursedTea · 18/03/2016 09:48

Thanks, I'll have to have a look!

Nurse15 · 18/03/2016 09:52

Ohhhh magpie that sounds positive! How does she tell if you don't mind me asking?

Cd1 for me today, amazing as I started metformin 7 weeks ago having not had a period or ovulation in more than a year and had two bleeds and one ovulation since starting me metformin! Last cycle was 40 days and think I ovulated around cd 25. Long may it continue!!

Also I got my inositol from myprotein on Amazon - it's powdered so I've taken to adding it to drinks etc it dissolves easily enough.

Hello Ladies,

I am new here, reading all of your posts makes me feel like I am not alone, and gives me hope for the future. My story isn't exactly the same as most of the posts I have seen on here, but I would appreciate any advice :)
Here it goes (long story short)...I have suffered 3 ectopic pregnancies, my first was in 2010 my tube ruptured I had my pregnancy and tube removed through surgery. My second ectopic was in 2014, caught early and treated with the methotrexate injection. Unfortunately I am currently experiencing my third ectopic, I have been treated with the methotrexate injection again waiting to see if it has worked.
I have conceived all 3 times naturally, and I have no problem getting pregnant. Whilst in surgery with my first, the surgeon looked at my remaining tube and said it looked fine. However, since this has happened twice now in my remaining tube, several doctors I have spoken to believe my tube is damaged inside.
I have never thought about having fertility treatment, but I think that will be the only option for me now.

Any advice on IVF treatment? I would appreciate it :)

Xx

Shellbell0403 · 18/03/2016 14:46

Hey ladies..

Just a quick one on way for another scan! Feel horrendously emotional today!

Nurse15 · 18/03/2016 15:01

GOOD LUCK SHELL!!!!! Flowers

MagpieCursedTea · 18/03/2016 15:22

Good luck shell!

Nurse so fantastic how well metformin has worked for you, it gives me hope! My acupuncturist looked at my (overly detailed) charts and worked it out from there.

aisha I'm really sorry that you're going through another ectopic. It sounds like you've been through a lot. I would have a have a chat with your doctor about your options. Have they spoken to you about IVF before? Have you been diagnosed with PCOS?

Shellbell0403 · 18/03/2016 15:32

Well ladies....

I need some advice....

So my right side has went 1.8, 1.6 and left side not really changed! Lining has went up to 6.1...
They said they think I will ovulate this weekend AND they have said they would 'advise' to avoid intercourse as their a a possible double...

What do I do?! Do I avoid incase there is but then possibly miss out on the fact their might be one that might actually work or do I chance it then risk a possible multiple that might be bad :(

Nurse15 · 18/03/2016 15:35

I think thats a really personal decision shell - I would write a list of positives a negatives - although there may be two eggs only one may implant? Not sure what I would do in all honesty!

Shellbell0403 · 18/03/2016 15:51

I know that's what I keep thinking too :/

DrewOB1 · 18/03/2016 16:10

I would give it a try, you never know when you'll ovulate again.

Nurse15 · 18/03/2016 16:26

Have you discussed it with your partner shell? If you're speaking to him again of course Grin

Shellbell0403 · 18/03/2016 16:36

Haha still not speaking....

Nurse He's away on business, due home later tonight!

Drew I was thinking that aswell plus the fact of two might not even happen...

aisha89 · 18/03/2016 16:51

Hi MagpieCursedTea,

Thank you for responding. I am new to all of these forums. I haven't spoken to anyone about IVF until a couple of days ago when I found out I was having another ectopic pregnancy.
I seem to be different to women on here in the sense I have not had any trouble with getting pregnant, I have regular periods and regular ovulation. I just have trouble with the pregnancy making it to the uterus, my remaining tube is damaged.
I would like to try naturally one more time if everything goes okay with my current treatment for the ectopic, but I know the odds are very much against me. Doesn't help that my recent partner has been horrible to me about it all and I am going through this alone.

As silly as it seems, I am now worried if I will be able to find a partner to accept my fertility and that would be willing to go through IVF :(

Xxx

Shellbell0403 · 18/03/2016 17:15

Aisha I am sorry to hear about your troubles... Sounds as though your going through the mill! Have you spoken to a doctor about possibly causes? Or been diagnosed with anything? I'm sure your partner must understand how difficult it is?

RoseBud2016 · 18/03/2016 17:24

Just a quick one to wave at Aisha Glad you found your way over here. Some very knowledgable women here including some with similar experiences regarding removed/blocked tubes.

And to say Shell if I were you I would absolutely go for it!!!! Pounce on DH when he gets in before he knows what's hit him and before he opens his big fat gob again!!! Wink Remember only 1 in 3 eggs (or something like that) on average are good quality eggs so the likely of them both fertilising and developing normally is small.

Plus I would bloody love twins! But then I am crazy! X

Rosebud I have a heart shaped womb though :( hence the no multiples... Surely would be that bad
Thanks huni!! Your a gem! Sending love xxx

stealthbanana · 18/03/2016 17:37

Hi everyone!

Just checking in. Shell I would definitely go for it - I think anything up to 3 follicles is fine. Not every follie has an egg and as Rose says not every egg is good so whilst your risk of twins is higher, it's not like it's 50% or anything! I would definitely go for it and I am absolutely paranoid about NOT having twins as would be scared of carrying the pregnancy safely

chandelier great to hear from you. Glad you've stopped feeling sick!

aisha welcome. I don't know much about blocked tubes myself but I'm sure someone can help you out!

Afm, I am slowly returning to being a normal human being again after EC. My bloated stomach is v slowly deflating too, thank goodness. Question for everyone - how long after EC (where I didn't have a transfer) should I expect AF? Suddenly realised its been 9 days since EC and in normal circumstances AF would be expected mid next week so I should get a wriggle on and start organising my FET. Eeek!

RoseBud2016 · 18/03/2016 17:38

Ummm ok, not sure on the heart shaped womb thing..... Why is nothing simple hey?!

OP posts:
RoseBud2016 · 18/03/2016 17:40

Stealth My understanding is that, for your body, it's as if you've ov'ed so I think AF comes around your normal LP time. Best get cracking!

Shellbell0403 · 18/03/2016 17:47

Thanks for your help and support ladies! Don't know what I would do without you!!

Spoke to DH and he said we should go for it! He said the same as we caught in between a rock and a hard place and doubt I would fall with twins anyways... Not that it could happen this time anyways... Not getting my hopes up about anything... Lol

The heart shaped issue means harder to carry, smaller space, risk of miscarriage, risk of breach and early labour etc...

Stealth glad to hear your slowly getting back to normal!! Sorry can't answer your question! I'm the same paranoid about lots of things! Haha

Chandelier glad to hear sickiness stopped

Xx

bananafish81 · 18/03/2016 20:22

Just to chip in. Not to piss on your bonfire but with lining of 6mm the chances of anything implanting are pretty slim

My Dr said the absolute minimum for proceeding to transfer is a thickness of 7mm but even that is pretty borderline. Really you need at least 8mm and some clinics would say that was still pretty sub optimal

It's not impossible for implantation to occur with a lining of 6mm. But it's certainly pretty unlikely

They are absolutely right to warn about the possibility of multiples as it would be irresponsible of them to discount the risk, however small

But just worth remembering that the eggs and sperm are not the only part of the equation

Shellbell0403 · 18/03/2016 22:00

Thanks Banana..

I know, my lining measured 6.3 today but was only 4.4 the other day so think they are expecting another rise over the next few days. I don't know. I'm not getting my hopes or anything up. I'm just glad Iv had some improvement as they had to abandon the last cycle as lining went from 6 to 3.4 in two days and follicles dropped in size. All I'm happy about is that actually have a follicle at 1.8 and my lining has went up! Iv to get tested for ovulation aswell which could be good thing too! First time in forever x

aisha89 · 18/03/2016 23:19

Hi Shell- thank you, doctors I have spoken to in the past all say the same thing, there are many reasons why it can happen, but they can't give me a definite answer. They know my tube isn't blocked as I have been able to conceive, they just think it's damaged inside. I feel like the best way I have dealt with it over the years is see it as 'it's just one of those things'. I still have hope that when the time is right it will happen.
I am still getting my head around the thought of having IVF, I never thought it would be something I would have to consider.

Rosebud- thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I definitely don't feel so alone anymore. Star Although, I naively didn't think women struggled so much to conceive, I always thought that was the easy part Shock no disrespect to anyone, my problem has been the pregnancy being in the wrong place!! My heart genuinely goes out to everyone on here, I hope we all get out positive outcome xxx
