Aww that's amazing!! I'm so pleased for you!! That's so exciting and positive news 😊

Yes I was getting follicle scans every two days but stopped as they have scrapped this cycle! Hopefully it works next time!! It all just got to much with the hospital every two days and trying to dtd every other day aswell!! I'm off work the now as all got to much!!

How do you stay so positive and not give up?

I'm so so pleased for you 😊😘

CwtchyQ · 15/02/2016 13:47

Welcome devgal! I've no experience with metformin but I do chart and find it invaluable, if a little addictive! Definitely worth doing for a cycle to see what's occurring - your temps (low may mean hypothyroid) and to see how long your luteal phase is.

I am feeling awful today, can't shake this cold. FF has decided I ovulated 6 days ago Hmm yet my Ovusense is unsure, so time will tell. Off to seek out some paracetamol!!

Dunlin1987 · 15/02/2016 13:51

Ok so I have my preseed ready and just bought a digital thermometer as I heard that opk's don't work whilst on Clomid?? Where do I start with temping?

Seems we are from all over the UK!!

CwtchyQ · 15/02/2016 14:11

stealth keep going. Buy yourself something nice, have a bit of a pamper and a good rant if you need one. BTW your job sounds amazing!

Dunlin have you downloaded a tracking app? Fertility Friend is quite good ime, plots a nice little graph for you to obsess over!

Shellbell0403 · 15/02/2016 14:14

I heard that ovulation tests don't work properly if have pcos? Xx

Dunlin1987 · 15/02/2016 14:33

Thanks cwtchy will download that now :)

Nurse15 · 15/02/2016 15:50

Hello everyone - so very behind with everything after being away and not sure when I will have the time to catch up so just wanted to pop on and say major congrats to thread mummy ROSEBUD!!! So so so pleased for you. Can't wait to read your amazing updates. Hope everyone is keeping well!

Devgal · 15/02/2016 17:01

Thanks CwtchyQ - That is really helpful. Definitely going to give it a go next cycle. I have downloaded Fertility Friend so I can obsess over it! I hope your cold clears up soon!

Shellbell - I had one doctor give me 100 OPK strips to use, and another told me to throw them away as PCOS can cause a higher level of LH so it would most likely be showing a false positive...just what you don't need! So based on that I am not bothering as it feels like a waste of time.

CwtchyQ · 15/02/2016 18:57

Thanks devgal, I am obsessing over my chart as I type! Grin

Shellbell0403 · 15/02/2016 20:24

Devgal you are Defo right!! I used one a couple of days before my last AF and came up saying positive 😔 Defo not what u need!!

Devgal · 15/02/2016 23:18

Oh how annoying! The first time I ever did one it was positive (some random amount of days into a 76 day cycle!!) and I was all excited, then realised it was lying to me! It took a couple of months but I finally have thrown then all out now!

Pebbles086 · 16/02/2016 12:54

Hello everyone. Thank you for the well wishes.
I am still over the moon for banana and rose two BFP from IVF. You give all of us hope.
sleath really sorry it wasn't your cycle this time. You sound like your ready for another go at it! Have a lovely trip to the USA, sounds exciting!
oranges well in for putting your foot down, I hope the dosage works a treat for you.
pug your on the best thread ever. These lovely ladies have a wealth of experience from AF, thin linings, vitamins, improving sperm, diet, injections, demanding treatment and whole lot more!! Grin they support you every step of the way!
hello to everyone else, hope your having good week xx
AFM I feel great! Hardly any pain at all and only a small amount of bloating. The surgery was only 1 hour and I was home last night. Had a lovely shower and read all the mags my DH got me. Plus I have no extra scars, he used the same incision from my belly button and was very gentle. I have my IVF appointment on Tuesday. I am not expecting much to happen, I expect he'll want me to heal first before anything can start. I am happy to wait and enjoy life in the mean time, it will happen when the time is right.
I nearly had my ovaries removed yesterday though! My consent form wasn't very clear and looked like I was having tubes and ovaries removing! The consultant made me sign a new form to be sure and I defiantly have my ovaries Shock I hope!! I didnt get to see him after it but the nurse said I do have them Smile
Best of luck to all of you. Hoping anyone with upcoming appointments, scans etc get good news. Lots of love to you all xxx

stealthbanana · 16/02/2016 14:41

pebbles pleased your op went well and you still have your ovaries - that's important!

AF turned up in full flow today so will start stabbing myself tomorrow & first scan booked in next Tuesday. At least I am now having a regular cycle rather than having to wait 2 months between interventions!

CwtchyQ · 16/02/2016 20:01

pebbles glad it all went well - and that your ovaries are still intact!

stealth AF is an absolute fucker Flowers but as you say, regular cycles are a good thing and we'll take whatever we can get. Onto the next! Wine

AFM FF is still saying I ov'd and it does totally fit with when I was having some serious on-type pains, beautiful temp dip and consistent rise, but since then temps have been up and down below coverline constantly, and my Ovusense hasn't confirmed so I'm thinking I haven't. Feeling quite pissed off about it as this cycle is turning out to be longer than the last one. Just want to see AF now tbh!

Pugmummy87 · 16/02/2016 23:05

Thanks Stealth, Rosebud and Oranges for the advice. That's really useful to know, AF arrived today, so starting cycle 4 of actively TTC, will try and book gp appt and ask about the progesterone test to see if I am ovulating.

Pebbles Thank you, glad to hear your op went well and they didn't remove your ovaries! Good luck with your ivf appointment.

Im restarting slimming world tomorrow night to get rid of this last 3 Stone and hopefully improve my chances too. I know that will be one of the first things the gp will say. Would it be worthwhile asking about metformin?

Shellbell0403 · 17/02/2016 08:34

Pugmummy87 I am starting SW again too 😊 Can support each other. I asked it metformin and they told me I had to wait abit...

Peebles glad your op went ok and good luck with you ivf app!

I have had seriously bad migraines the last few days!! Not sleeping well either, does anyone else suffer from this? Xx

DizzyNorthernBird · 17/02/2016 10:59

Hello! Hope everyone is well Smile

Sorry to hear af came stealth but that's great your cycles are becoming regular!

pebbles Shock at nearly getting your ovaries removed! Wtf! What a relief they realised before you went in!

cwtchy I can relate to your FF frustration. Last cycle I got a dotted line at the time I thought I had ov'd but the temps following this were a little ambiguous. I was hoping it was just a slow rise. I took the dotted line for granted and then af didn't arrive on time....I spent 5 days last week in limbo wondering whether I could be pg but af arrived on Saturday.

devgal I also struggle using opks too. I do sometimes use them now but I rarely get clear results. All they do is add to the confusion of this whole situation. We can manage without!

ain how did you get on with the soy? What dose did you take? I started using them on Sunday (decided to do cd2-6), starting with a conservative 80mg for the first 3 days but will increase to 120mg today and tomorrow to finish off. I think I was expecting to feel some symptoms from them though and so far I just feel normal, so I'm not sure whether his means I haven't taken enough. I'm very interested to see whether it brings ov forward.

FeeFeeLaFew · 17/02/2016 22:05

Evening all,
Pugmummy, welcome, and I agree with the others that you should definitely be able to get some tests done by your GP given you've been off contraception all this time.
Oranges, yay for arguing your case and getting the prescription! Fx for the new dose working for you. But I hope you can get them to start scanning you sooner rather than later.
Shellbell, welcome back!
Stealth, your upbeat attitude is great. Here's to your new injectables cycle.
Devgal, welcome. I've been on metformin for close to a year and can't say it's really done anything for me, but I'm sticking with it anyway. I haven't lost an ounce on it, which is disappointing. My periods came back eventually but I think that was more to do with having a large dermoid cyst removed than the metformin. But lots of people do seem to find it helps them with weight loss which in itself can be a big help with cycles/ PCOS.
Pebbles, I'm really pleased the op went well for you and you weren't in any pain yesterday. I think they won't need you to recover for more than a couple of months, if that - but hopefully the consultant will have definite timings in mind for you when you see him/her next week.
Cwtchy, how frustrating about the conflicting trackers!
Dizzy, hope the soy works for you!
I had my first tracking scan this morning after starting IVF stims last Friday, and it was pretty darn disappointing - there was apparently nothing visible at all. (For the newbies - I started IVF because, as well as my ovulation issues, it turned out I had blocked tubes). So they have upped my dose of menopur, but not that much - from 112.5 to 150 IU because they are still worried about my super high AMH level meaning I'll get hyperstimulate. Whereas I'm fretting a bit about whether I'll start responding at all to the meds at all (or if the cycle will be abandoned), and also wondering if I have been messing up my injections. Every day I have a different question - today I wiped the top of my multi-use Menopur vial with an alcohol wipe (inspired by the instructions for the single-use cetrotide), and now I'm worried that I've contaminated the rest of the solution. Argh! There is a such a lot of over-analysing, worrying and second-guessing to be done in this TTC game.
PS Rosebud I remember you were disappointed at your first scan and then it all went ok for you (yay!). But I think you had at least some follicles to be tracking at that point, so I'm not sure I can take much comfort from it for my response so far.

stealthbanana · 18/02/2016 00:44

feefee do you mean the doctor couldn't see any dominant or growing follies? Or that they couldn't see any follies at all? Am assuming the former, which sounds totally normal to me, you've only been going a few days! They can keep adjusting the dose so don't stress x

dizzy my cycles are only "becoming" regular because I'm pumping myself full of FSH Grin Left to my own devices I appear to be completely anovulatory.

Cd2 - first injection for the round today. Here we go again!

ColdFeetWarmHeart · 18/02/2016 02:15

Hello, is it okay if I join you lovely ladies?! Have been ttc #2 for 10 months now. Had one proper period in that time (last may). Getting fed up now!!! I would at the very least like a proper period instead of just spotting every so often ....

FeeFeeLaFew · 18/02/2016 07:34

Welcome Coldfeet, there's oodles of advice in this thread/ its predecessors and some very wise ladies. I know the frustration of waiting forever for AF. Have you been to you gp about it yet?
Stealth, I think the expression was 'there's nothing to measure and your lining is very thin'. Baseline scan confirmed still b polycystic ovaries so I assume there's lots of things in there, just nothing that had visibly been growing by yesterday. Next scan is tomorrow and I'm feeling a bit more upbeat today. Hope your injection was fine!

ColdFeetWarmHeart · 18/02/2016 10:14

Hi feefee no I haven't been to see gp in a long time. My first mission is to actually try to get an appointment! At my new surgery you can only call and get an appointment for that day, so I have a feeling that it's going to take me a while to be seen. Nervous about going to a new surgery too - worried that they won't do anything without doing more tests / won't do anything full stop!!

RoseBud2016 · 18/02/2016 15:17

Welcome Devgal and ColdFeet! How old are you both? ColdFeet Definitely get yourself to the GP asap. You are entitled to help once you have been trc for 6 months once diagnosed with PCOS. Good luck getting an appointment!

Fee It's still early days! I had no dominant follciles at my first scan either! 150iu Menopur did it for me- so don't give up hope yet x

Pebbles Glad to hear your op went well and you have your ovaries intact! I wish you a speedy recovery and a positive first IVF appointment next week x

Ladies- I think I may be about to receive some very bad news. I got my first beta back and it was only at 25 (It should be at around 100). 25 confirms I am pregnant but it isn't enough to sustain a viable pregnancy. I've had another beta blood test done today to see if it has increased but it will need to increase significantly over the comings days for there to be any chance of this going anywhere. I'm honestly not feeling hopeful at all. I cried all night- I feel so so sad Sad
I cannot believe we have gone from bring so so happy to so so sad in the space of a week Sad Please keep your fingers crossed for us x

Rosebud please don't stress... Everything will be ok! Try and stay positive and stressing won't help... Can they not give you anything?? Sending massive hugs your way Xxx

stealthbanana · 18/02/2016 16:47

Oh rose - sending lots of positive vibes your way. Hang in there! Xxx

feefee it is very early days for you. Chin up! Injections are fine, I'm an old hand now :)
