As I had my positive OPK yesterday and did final DTD last night I though I could have a test but the OPK I did this morning (to check it was fading) came up just as dark as yesterday's strip. I wasn't supposed to be going home tonight as was planning on staying at my mom's house (for work related reasons) but now I think I'm going to have to change my plans and go home for another DTD session Confused

Nicky883 · 11/02/2016 15:39

Writer do you only dtd the day that u got a positive ovulation test ? I thought you should do it for 3 days after that ?
This is my first cycle trying so please correct me if i am wrong

Shemozzle · 11/02/2016 20:23

No way writer I have done exactly the same! Have already bought littlest dd a big sister tshirt in preparation for telling dp if/when we catch. I was planning on getting him to take he jumper off and asking if he likes her new tshirt. He probably won't get it and will ruin the moment. Grin

Sorry I've got a bit behind on thread, 4dpo now and so nothing much to do but wait and I'm trying to remain patient by not browsing conception boards, baby name threads and googling various symptoms! I'll be back with avengance for hand holding once I start testing way too early next week I'm sure. Blush

Tabitha78 · 11/02/2016 20:26

Thanks Kellz and Mimilicious. Major deadline met, job interview today. Operation de-stress starts here (after prosecco drinking
of course!)

Shemozzle · 11/02/2016 20:31

nicky I may be wrong but I was led to believe that a positive OPK means you will ovulate in 12-24 hours on average. It can take sleek 12 hours to make their journey. Whenever I have inputted a positive OPK my fertility apps have ended the fertile window the following day. It is the 3 days before and including the positive OPK that you have the biggest chance of conceiving.

Shemozzle · 11/02/2016 20:32

It can take sperm 12 hours*

Kellz92 · 11/02/2016 21:24

Nicky I bet I'll be exhausted but dh won't complain lol xx

Writerwannabe83 · 11/02/2016 21:25

DTD before ovulation is what's important and then on the day of the positive OPK.

I've done it three times over the last week so that will do me. I was going to do it again tonight just in case but I've only just got in from work and I'm too tired Grin

Writerwannabe83 · 11/02/2016 21:28

shenozzle - I'm loving the jumper idea!!

Lyssie · 11/02/2016 22:55

I don't know if I have ovulated, Mimi.
I don't remember what ovulation used to feel like, but I guess I might as well be with the cramps and tenderness. Well... I hope I am Wink

FuzzyOwl · 12/02/2016 10:50

I stupidly didn't use OPKs for a few days as I was not expecting a positive until Sunday or Monday but got one today. We planned to start DTD tonight as we haven't for a week but now I have blown my chances for this cycle. So annoyed and upset. Sad So that means I am out already and, thanks to my long cycles, will be having to wait until April. SadAngry

Oh fuzzy it's definitely not too late! Get shagging now!

Writerwannabe83 · 12/02/2016 11:26

Oh Fuzzy Sad

Don't give up yet! I was told ovulation can happen anywhere between 12-48 hours of a positive OPK so DTD tonight may still be worth it?

FuzzyOwl · 12/02/2016 13:21

Thanks Shemozzle and Writer. I am feeling quite resigned to it now (your most fertile days are leading up to ovulation, not ovulation itself which was why we intended to start DTD most days from now). Oh well, will definitely DTD tonight anyway and hope.

Writerwannabe83 · 12/02/2016 13:48

Oh the romance.... Grin

Kellz92 · 12/02/2016 13:55

I know writer Im CD 7 so away to start DTD

xx

FuzzyOwl · 12/02/2016 14:18

Thanks Kellz. Xxx

There is no romance left for me now in ttc! Next month will be like a military precision!

Same fuzzy After the text I sent dp last week asking him to please wake me for sex when he got in so tired at 4am, and him being so obliging, next month I'm thinking of marking the fertile window in our shared google calendar... Grin

Writerwannabe83 · 12/02/2016 18:39

My DH hasn't got a clue about anything. He'd have no idea about fertile Windows and probably thinks you can get pregnant at any time in the month if you have unprotected sex.

Kellz92 · 12/02/2016 18:58

Shemozzle I get my oh to wake me when he comes in from night shift lol. I'm lucky he's putting so much effort into googling things like me. In November he bought me the clear blue advanced fertility monitor, and I came home today and he's ordered preseed. Just getting down about it now xx

Writerwannabe83 · 13/02/2016 07:17

Did you DTD last night fuzzy? I really intended to but when it came to it I was just too tired. I practically fell asleep as soon as I crawled in to bed.

I wish I had though now because if AF arrives I will always wonder if last night's extra desperate attempt could have been the one that would have led to a BFP.....
