Anyone else starting their 2ww?

Hi all

I think I am 2dpo and think AF is due 4th Feb so 13 days until I will be testing, if AF doesn't arrive.

I know it's not really possible to have symptoms this early but I have had frequent urination, excessive saliva and a slight metallic taste in my mouth today. I think it must be all in my head, because I don't remember having these symptoms the last time I had a BFP (which ended in an early m/c).

Is anyone else just starting a 2ww?

Thank you Anne and Lily. I'm hoping for 3rd time lucky!!
Yeah had a few twinges but seem to be less. Nothing over painful x

AnneLovesGilbert · 29/03/2016 10:12

Lily, how are you doing? Did you have a nice Easter? Hope the drive went well and you had a good time with your family.

My next super green zone is from tomorrow according to Ovia, due to ovulate Friday. We're at a wedding so need to not get too tipsy and crash out before dtd!

HopefulKate1980 · 29/03/2016 20:33

Congratulations Theaks! Great news. Wish you are v happy pregnancy!

How is everyone else?

My AF came on full force on Friday, nicely timed for my weekend away! I knew nothing could stick this month with the blood clot I have retained but feeling positive now and hoping it is all clear now for this month. I wonder whether I should get a scan to double-check that it's gone? I feel like I need piece of mind but then again I don't want to get neurotic as that isn't good for TTC!!

xx

AnneLovesGilbert · 30/03/2016 09:37

Hope AF isn't too rough Kate and glad you're feeling chipper and optimistic! Could you ask your GP about a scan? Can't do any harm and might help settle your concerns, as you say.

You don't sound neurotic at all! Smile

I'm going for dtd every other day and have DP on man vitamins! We'll see if it does the job this month. I hope so. But also feeling pretty relaxed about it, lots of fun things to look forward to.

Theaks · 30/03/2016 11:19

Thank you Kate. If you feel like you need a scan then defo ask. I was fed up of scans at the end- was fed up of being poked and prodded!
Anne my DH was taking the wellman vitamins! Dont know if they did the trick or it was meant to be. But anything that could help is worth it

AnneLovesGilbert · 30/03/2016 14:05

DP's on those too! And he's trying to drink more water. Fingers and toes crossed then.

Vitamins, preseed, less dtd, fingers and toes crossed.... Are you on a conception/pregnancy supplement or just folic? I'm only taking folic. What's the received wisdom?

Theaks · 30/03/2016 14:30

Received wisdom?
Been taking folic for 2 years and vitamin d for a few months now. Vitamin d I took to help me sleep!

AnneLovesGilbert · 30/03/2016 14:43

I'm not sure if folic is enough or whether an all round conception supplement is meant to be better. Read different advice in different places.

Does the vitamin d help you with sleeping?

Theaks · 30/03/2016 15:14

They say only folic is needed. All the rest of vit and minerals come from diet. But I suppose it wouldn't hurt, there is lots of conception supplements out there.
I did some research and fed DH salmon around fertile days and swapped his chocolate to dark. And made him smoothies with walnuts and blueberries every morning- think he thought he was getting spoilt by the wife! Grin
It does for me. I suffer from SAD and found that I needed to use my light therapy less over winter months when I took vit d. Going to move onto the all in one supplement like pregnacare once I run out of vit d.

Frantasic · 31/03/2016 09:44

Hi- I'm approx 3/4 dpo. I hate the TWW. 😩

AnneLovesGilbert · 31/03/2016 10:13

Hi Frantasic, it sucks. Have you got a nice weekend ahead of you?

I'm having really sharp deep achey pains in my left inner hip area, might be ovulation? Really localised. Annoying and sore.

How's everyone else?

HopefulKate1980 · 31/03/2016 12:40

Welcome Frantastic! I hate the TWW too - not that I am in it yet but...

How are you Anne? Remind me where you are at in your cycle??

I have had a rough few days and a very confusing few days. I put my back out yesterday morning, and it was so bad my CEO marched me home. So I spent yesterday just in bed staring at the ceiling. The pain was SO immense. I eventually got quite bored and so started thinking about when I could start to TTC again.... So I did an ovulation test - the first was negative as it was a new pack, but then by the time I had gone to bed, I had done two more tests and they had gone from HIGH to PEAK. What the f*ck?! I am on CD7 today and supposedly in my fertile window? Normally I am fertile CD9 onwards. Do you think it's right? I had EWCM yesterday and today it is sticky and creamy which suggests I have ovulated. All very strange and far too early!

Anyway, despite the bad back, we are going to DTD tonight and hope I haven't missed my window. I knew cycles could be disrupted after a MC but this is slightly ridiculous!

The other bugger is I am having to take LOTS of co-codamol to ease the pain and valium at night which I am worried my harm conception or ovulation.

xx

Frantasic · 31/03/2016 12:43

Hi Anna... It totally sucks. I'm not that busy this week but I have tons to do round the house. Hopefully it'll fly by. :)

What day of your cycle are you on?

AnneLovesGilbert · 31/03/2016 13:15

I hope so too! At least the sun is shining here.

I'm on day 14. Hoping the left side pain is signs of ovulating!

What cycle are you on? Been ttc long?

shopaholic85 · 31/03/2016 13:36

Hi all! Sorry I've been away this month. I decided after my last post to stop tracking symptoms and take a break from mumsnet and ovia. I was driving myself crazy with the constant poas and scheduled dtd.

So, I've had a very relaxed month ttc (only DTD on CD 11 and 12 and usually ovulate on CD16). I'm on CD30 today and had a tiny bit of brown spotting yesterday and then nothing. DH persuaded me to take a test and I had a very strong BFP after only a few seconds.

After 7 months of actively ttc and my mc in January it feels very bittersweet and we are definitely not telling anyone or celebrating until 12 weeks. I'm also a bit worried that I've spent the last few days packing (lifting heavy boxes and cleaning with bleach) Confused

A massive thank you to Lily and Kate for being so supportive of me on this thread. You were the first people I wanted to tell today. Lily, I'm sorry that af arrived and good luck for your relaxed month of ttc. Kate, I'm sorry about your back. I think some painkillers are safer than others. Can you get by on paracetamol?

HopefulKate1980 · 31/03/2016 13:59

Oh my god Shopaholic I am so so pleased for you! I had hoped that was why you had been off this thread! The biggest warmest congratulations to you and DH. I understand why you are going to keep it to yourself until 12 weeks, but that must be such a lovely secret to have between the two of you. How are you feeling?? Any symptoms?

Thanks for your kind words re: my back. I am going to an osteopath later and I am hoping to be mobile enough tonight to dtd. I so hope this month works.

Congratulations again. That has made my day! It's great to hear about pregnancies on this thread.

xx

AnneLovesGilbert · 31/03/2016 14:01

Kate! I didn't see your message for some reason, sorry. Awful about your back, is it getting any better today? At least the pills should help and, I'm not remotely medical, sure they won't affect fertility. What have you decided about the scan idea?

It does sound like you've ovulated and that it' ahead of schedule. I'm still new to this so hopefully one of the others will have some ideas or experience?

I'm on cd 14 and definitely feeling ovulation things going on.

Hi shopaholic, what lovely news! Thank you for setting up this thread and I'm very happy to hear about your bfp and wish you a happy, healthy, relaxed pregnancy.

shopaholic85 · 31/03/2016 14:17

Thank you Kate and Anne. I'm praying that this one sticks.

In terms of symptoms, I've been eating loads in the last 2 weeks and feeling a little sick after over-eating Blush I just put it down to the stress of moving house. I've also caught this horrible cold/flu type thing from DH so have just generally been feeling unwell. I've not had any other symptoms, so really thought I was out this month. Had a BFN on an early detection test on CD26 and AF type cramps on day it was due. A little worried about the brown spotting yesterday. Could it have been implantation bleeding?

OP posts:
HopefulKate1980 · 31/03/2016 14:21

It will almost definitely be implantation bleeding - I had that with both pregnancies the day before I was due to come on, and thought I was out until a few days later when AF still hadn't arrived and I tested. Don't worry - it is a great sign!

So how many weeks are you? 4? What CD did you test on?

SO pleased for you.

xx

AnneLovesGilbert · 31/03/2016 14:23

Congrats on your new home!

They always say that brown blood is old and bright red is new - more like normal af - so definitely sounds like implantation bleeding if it was dark and only light spotting.

Pop your feet up I say, moving is exhausting Flowers

HopefulKate1980 · 31/03/2016 14:23

Thanks Anne - it is much better now and have eased off the drugs just in case! I did ANOTHER OPK with another tester I have and that was peak too - so it sounds like I am definitely ovulating or have ovulated. My boyfriend is under strict instructions to get home tonight asap to DTD! Looks like we will only have a tiny window this time.

Does anyone know whether early ovulation is a good thing? I suppose it gives me a longer luteal phrase which I think is good? But it seems odd to have come so early.

xx

AnneLovesGilbert · 31/03/2016 14:59

Lucky man Kate! Hope you have a lovely night. Grin

We've told ourselves that it's no biggie if this isn't our month as we're so close to wedding/honeymoon now. But I'm not sure if it's a bit like pretending you've stopped trying? I don't know. Anyway, since coming off the pill I'm up for it pretty much constantly so that's a bonus!

HopefulKate1980 · 31/03/2016 15:05

Ah bless you thanks!! He better come home with bags of energy!

When is your wedding? I think I have said before that it happened to my friend... wedding coming up, stopping stressing, whoops. Whatever the case, it is great to be relaxed.

I find it hard to relax myself but both times I fell pregnant I was extremely stressed - the first time, I was told by a private clinic that I would never even fall pregnant naturally which sent me into meltdown and four days later I conceived.... and the second time, I had a massive deadline at work and was working 16 hour days for a while, and although with both I miscarried, I did conceive in the first place and my consultant has said MCs aren't caused by stress.

Ooh my back is starting to hurt again... maybe I am stressed!!

xx

AnneLovesGilbert · 31/03/2016 15:35

9 weeks! Finally got a dress yesterday. I might have been overly relaxed about wedding planning!

You did say about your friend, lovely to hear it happening for people.

Bloody hell, that must have been awful hearing that from a doctor. Was there a specific reason? Well in their faces, you've got pregnant twice and will do again, maybe tonight! Wink

Hope your back is full better soon. Nothing like a good dose of oxytocin for pain relief! But go gently...

HopefulKate1980 · 31/03/2016 16:13

Ooh beautiful! What is it like?!

The doctor was a private specialist who in the same breath said I should do IVF at their clinic for £14k. At the time it was devastating, so devastating but when I got pregnant, i did start to question it... A lot of my friends are journalists and I have talked to them many times about doing an article about infertility fraud. Don't get me started though!! I need to relax for tonight!
