Another lurker steps forward:
Today is day 30 and I am usually a 30-32 day cycle girl. Felt dreadfully sick on Sunday at 11am with strange taste and wondered if I was or if it was from overdoing the alcohol on Saturday and getting only 6hrs sleep?
Have taken test and is negative.
Should know by Friday....

Azure · 31/05/2004 21:49

Best of luck for Friday!

Hi guys another lurker. just new to this chat stuff not sure what i am doing. I give the lingo a go anyway. see how i go. took 7 years (endrometriosis and PS) to conceive ds now 18mths old wasn't trying but not taking precausions! surely couldn't be that unlucky in 7 yrs! been ttc for 5 mths now and no luck. not quite sure how to go about it other than sex (is it bd?) on ov days. iam on cd 6 i have at least 4 days of spotting b4 af arrives some months its a 25 day cycle some 28 i cant say that i have the cm every month but i do know that i ov last month (ultrasound on day 19) but i didn't have the cm. can someone pls tell me some of their ideas with ttc. everyday i look at ds and think how lucky we are to have him. who would have thought that ttc would be so complicated. it also seems that everyone around me that are ttc it happens straight away for them. which makes you feel even more alone so glad that i have found this site.

futurity · 01/06/2004 10:46

Welcome to the lurkers!

CD 18 and still nothing on OPK but got pains and CM so not sure when it will be.

I had my blood test booked in for 7 days after OV so had booked it for next Thursday. Will have to change that now but does anyone know what you do if you OV at the weekend..if I OV Saturday I can't have the blood test on a Saturday? I think the doctor said you do it 7 days or over so it would be the Monday..anyone have experience of this?

ChaCha · 01/06/2004 10:53

Oh ChaCha

Welcome 2ticks, tania2 and malinki Think this board is really important especially if no-one in real life knows you are trying and if they do, you feel like you are always going on. Here we can all go on and on and provide genuine support.

futurity, hope you ov soon, it's frustrating isn't it when it comes later than expected. I thought it had happened at the end of last week but now think it might have happened yesterday. Had some really strong pains last night and managed another bd at midnight (that's dedication for you!).

Azure · 01/06/2004 11:58

Bluestar, I agree how important this board is. There is nobody I talk to in real life about this (barely even DH) and it's great to exchange tips and get the support here. My Persona gave another "o" (for ovulation) this morning (CD 10), but there weren't two lines. I'm not convinced I have o/v yet - Persona may be messed up because I had a break from it last cycle. Still, managed to BD last night despite not getting home from work until 11pm.

pes · 01/06/2004 12:02

Hello everyone.
ChaCha
Have tried to use ovt this am but it didn't work. I am crap at this!!!!!

2ticks · 01/06/2004 12:31

Thanks for the welcome everyone - we're not telling anyone yet that we are trying, so it's great to have somewhere to "come out"!!

ChaCha, sorry to hear your news

BeckiF · 01/06/2004 13:43

Hi all - the twinges I had earlier this week may of been ovulation which is a pain as dp and I haven't done the deed this week. Still exhausted from the driving and travelling for Nannas funeral down south. If it WAS ovulation on Monday then I know it's too late now And I would only of waited 227 days for it

malinki · 01/06/2004 13:54

Can I be added to this post CD3

Azure · 01/06/2004 13:59

BeckiF, the twinges may be due to any number of things. If ovulation did occur, at least that means AF is on the way. You can't be expected to BD very other day for for over 7 months, especially given the couple of weeks you've just had.

Tania2 · 01/06/2004 14:15

Thanks for the welcome. hay whats this ovt and persona that you are all talking about. iam from australia so maybe thats why i haven't heard of it. I have told my friends that we are ttc so this maybe the reason why i am feeling more like a failure or reject so 2ticks i feel you have done the best thing keeping it to yourself you wont have to answer the question "are you pg yet?" Futurity - is that the blood test to test your hormone levels if it is my gyno got me to take the test on cd 19 said that was when the hormones were at their strongest. so that would be 7 days after i ov on a 25 day cycle. according to text book cases. who knows when i bloody ov.

BeckiF · 01/06/2004 14:37

Hi Azure - but you get my point though? If it WAS ovulation then it's sods law! I'd have to wait another 220+ days to have another go I think I just have to try a course of IVF to satisfy myself.

By the way, what else could it of been??

ShouldKnowByFriday · 01/06/2004 15:53

Okay, still no AF and no pains so fingers crossed.

Oh! One very important point: DH not interested in having more than 2 children which we already have. Am not worrying though, shall cross that bridge if and when i come to it.

Azure · 01/06/2004 16:04

BeckiF, I did get your point and cannot begin to understand the frustration you must be feeling.

Azure · 01/06/2004 16:12

Tania2, OVT refers to ovulation predictor tests - you can buy boxes of five tests from Boots and use them when you are expecting ovulation to pinpoint the exact day. Persona is a very expensive gadget which does the same thing, although was designed to be used as a contraceptive. Through the use of pissy sticks (16 the first month, 8 thereafter) it indicates when ovulation is about to happen. I haven't told anyone I'm ttc - partly because it seems so personal, and mainly becuase I couldn't bear the questions.

foxinsocks · 01/06/2004 16:22

hello...another lurker although I'm not actively ttc yet. We're at the 'should we ttc or should we not have any more' stage so pre-ttc really. But I must say, I find this thread really enlightening and a fantastic support as I never had anyone talk to when I was trying to have my others!

Azure, did I read ages ago that you work in Holborn?

Tania2 · 01/06/2004 16:45

Thanks Azure, what country are you from cause i am not sure if we have those ones in oz. the only one i know of it is the pissy stick one and it is a pack of 4 for around $80au i might try the temp method this month. see how i go.

Tania2 · 01/06/2004 16:54

Hope noone thinks i am rude if i dont respond for the rest of the chat today. its nearlly 11pm in oz so iam off to bed now considering its cd 10 i have to go to bed b4 hubby goes to sleep. if anyone is from oz i would love to chat. best wishes for another day to everyone.

Azure · 01/06/2004 17:05

Good night Tania2! I'm in the UK - sorry, I assumed you had relocated here. A$80 seems unbelievably expensive. Hi there Foxinsocks - what a good memory, I do work in Holborn. Are you in the same area?

foxinsocks · 01/06/2004 17:08

yes, I was. In Theobalds Road.

Azure · 01/06/2004 17:09

Me too - not for a film company, were you? Where are you now?

foxinsocks · 01/06/2004 17:13

I didn't work for a film company - I was at 124 for C&W. Resigned when I got pregnant with number 2 though I'm thinking about returning (left on good terms thank goodness). I really enjoyed working in that area.

Azure · 01/06/2004 17:16

You must have been working next door to me, then! My sister used to work at C&W but left 4 years ago (when she was expecting #2). If you come back we could have our very own Theobald's Road meet-up!
