Haha Lana in usually pretty healthy and go the gym 5 times a week but Xmas has set me back and now AF has arrived and that was it. Promising myself I'll be better tomorrow, just NEEDED chocolate today and it's definitely helped my period pains!

Dubbya · 06/01/2016 17:13

Ooh, exciting bfps, congrats space and bubbles. Fx for yours Lana!

I'm very excited today, had my first +ve opk!! Attached pic of smiley and what it looked like inside of that helps.

Need to seduce OH tonight then! Dtd last night and he seemed v tired after but hopefully I can persuade - not sure whether to mention the opk (haven't told him I'm tracking so as not to pressure) or just say it's a 'peak time' or just try and jump him?!!

Starky just had to mention I've just started watching Game of Thrones with OH over Christmas break and suddenly realised your name made sense now ha!

KatOnATinRo0f · 06/01/2016 17:43

(Just catching up so sorry if this is old convo now...)
miley my AF is really short/light. I normally don't even have to use a tampon. Lasts 24-48hrs max. Have more cramping and pain since stopping the pill. I'm a bit worried that it's actually enough bleeding to constitute a healthy clear out iyswim

KatOnATinRo0f · 06/01/2016 17:46

Indi yup... Need to get back on the healthy food/gym since christmas.
Slightly concerned about caning it in the gym affecting possible implantation or growth of cluster of cells? Or am I being overly silly? Lazy

LittleBelle90 · 06/01/2016 17:47

Thanks choc just going to have cuddles with my dog tonight to console me.

Congratulations to the bfps 😊

KatOnATinRo0f · 06/01/2016 17:53

Miley i just read your last post on the old thread (the one that is all crossed out) and it is exactly what I'm doing right now. In fact I think it needs copying/pasting into this thread as maybe not everyone read it as it was after the new link.

Current symptoms: my boobs are really hurting now. And I didn't want a cup of tea earlier, I thought it smelt like fish. This is not like me I love tea in a 6 cups a day girl. slightly worried I was imagining it/making myself not like it though subconsciously. Can you will yourself pregnant? Lol

LillianFullStop · 06/01/2016 18:03

Uh oh I have some light spotting I think the beginnings of AF... damn these symptoms being so similar!!! Will wait to see if stays spotting or full blown AF Confused

Ni4444 · 06/01/2016 18:04

Kat I hear you about the exercise. I wouldn't mind getting the body toned up, but I've read that stuff about excessive exercise redirecting energy to muscles and away from ovaries/womb their version of excessive is probably way more than what I'd end up doing anyway but I'm being cautious....and it's a great excuse just to be a yoga bunny!

IndiX · 06/01/2016 18:11

Shit this exercise thing is all news to me about to google frantically I thought exercising would help conception? I'm not athlete but I do push pretty hard for 1-2 hours 5 times a week and DH is a professional sportsman so thought we would be super fertile! does it just affect women? Only learned about jacuzzi/saunas affecting sperm the other day so DH is now banned!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 06/01/2016 18:17

Ooh dubs --which is my nickname for you, GoT is amazeballs! It's basically a history lesson with boobs and dragons! Which is my kinda history lesson! My name is a play on our surname and we live oop north! We say "you know NOTHING, Jon Snow!" As a light hearted argument finisher! Grin and woop woop on the positive okp!

I've got a cold! It's dh's fault!

OP posts:
KatOnATinRo0f · 06/01/2016 18:18

Yup have banned DH from the sauna. He doesn't like cycling much so he can do what he likes in the gym.

I'm not sure I'm sure I read it somewhere... I know that exercising too hard can stress the body and prevent ovulation. I like to do a mix of spinning/cardio and weights, I feel like the cardio (if excessive) wouldn't be good... Probably 25-30 mins of HIIT would be better than 69 mins moderate intensity, as less likely to increase cortisol release and deplete energy stores... BUT don't quote me on that I haven't done enough research. DH did tell me not to do more than 30 mins cardio at a time at the moment but he might be overly worried.

Anyone else want to know what kind of professional sportsman indi's got???

KatOnATinRo0f · 06/01/2016 18:21

Indi I think if you are really fit and really used to that level of exercise then your body will be well adapted to cope with it.

I'm a bit sporadic all-or-nothing sort... When I go to the gym I go 5-7 days a week and do it properly... For a few months and then sorta give up. After my wedding in August I've been probably only 2x a week plus the odd yoga class and not probably more than about 70-75% effort. Normally January I'm back to 100% effort 5 days a week but my body isn't so fit right now Confused

ElleSarcasmo · 06/01/2016 18:27

Anyone else want to know what kind of professional sportsman indi's got???

Lol Kat I was thinking the same!

Feefeefs · 06/01/2016 18:29

mileymoocow I also just had a very light period, 2 days of "normal" bleeding like medium and then two days very light bleed, almost nothing

IndiX · 06/01/2016 18:30

Thanks Kat, just had a little research about it and it says more than 7 hours a week may affect your levels of progesterone which are needed for implantation during 2ww something along those lines.-- I do go for it in the gym but then I see other women and think they are much fitter than me and doing more..oh god another thing to think about now. Who knew TTC would be so complicated i thought it would be a bang, spunk and your done!-- Will keep an eye on it especially in the 2ww but don't want to change it too much.
Haha can't say too much about DH or cover will be blown Blush

IndiX · 06/01/2016 18:32

DH isn't famous btw haha!

DrWhy · 06/01/2016 18:32

Ooh Kat are you me?! I go through bouts of exercising at least 4 times a week then nothing! I was running 5-10k twice a day some days and in the gym twice a week before my wedding in July and have done nothing since until I went to spin last night!
I'm going to try to be moderate... I will go to spin class when DH goes to badminton once a week and am setting up personal training for one morning a week as we have a new gym in the office basement now - I figure he should know what to do with a pregnant person if I become one - then I'll swim once a week with a club as that's low impact and I can vary the effort... Let's see how that goes.
Super healthy veggie chilli on the go now although I did crack after my soup and salad lunch and have a cereal bar.
I feel the size of a whale at the moment, DH and I have varying opinions on whether I'm incubating a real baby or a food baby...!
I have 2 sticks in the bathroom now and AF is 2 days late... Trying to wait until tomorrow morning to test!
Starky I knew I recognised your name somewhere and choc I can't believe you showed your DH your CM, mine would probably have divorced me!
Go on indie tell us what sport your DH does!

KatOnATinRo0f · 06/01/2016 18:38

I was in the gym twice a day before the wedding. I left it a bit late to get in shape. I pulled it off but obv the results only lasted max a month.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 06/01/2016 19:08

My dm made me stop going to the gym a few months before the wedding, apparently I looked like a bloke in a strapless dress Grin in fairness, I had very lean arms/shoulders/back, but I was quite muscular, so I could see where she was coming from! I was proportionate, but in a sparkly, pretty, floaty dress, it didn't quite work for me!

OP posts:
LaraG13 · 06/01/2016 19:25

I've been concerned about exercise too. I like to lift heavy weights and do quite intense sessions, though only 4 hours a week. I am especially nervous about deadlifting big weight during the 2ww as am scared I'll disturb implantation, which I'm sure is ridiculous!

Starky I love having a muscular back and big biceps and lats. Only issue is finding dresses that fit my big manly back 😊

StarkyTheDirewolf · 06/01/2016 19:32

That's my problem too lara I put on muscle like a genetic freak, and if you add in my goatee problem thick dark hair plus pale gothy skin I am essentially my dad in a wig. My mum asked if I was taking steroids! I was not! Grin

OP posts:
LaraG13 · 06/01/2016 19:38

Aw Starky your genetic freakery has got me jealous. Not even joking Grin Being muscular makes me feel at my most confident in my body. I get nervous about having to give it up if/when I get upduffed.

I think I am going to try to just keep exercising as normal because this whole conceiving thing could take sometime and living in limbo won't be much fun!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 06/01/2016 20:05

lara I knew a girl who was training/dieting for a national Miss Bikini fitness Comp, she found out the week after that she was 5 weeks gone at the time of the comp and she was dry as a bone and had been hardcore dieting. Her baby is beyond beautiful!

I was worried abiut it too, but our bodies are designed to protect the bean, especially early on, and if you are a weight trainer/fitness person anyway it won't do any harm as your body already knows what it's doing when exercising if that makes sense it's only in the latter stages where you have to be careful and take it easier etc.

Ladies I'm jealous of your willpower. I can run a marathon, but I still give Mr blobby a run for his money. I'm joining fat club tomorrow.
