Relaxed TTC Feb/March/April 2016

Hi,

We've just agreed to start TTC #1 in March so just starting to look at preparing for that - prenatal vitamins, losing some weight, etc.

I'm 33 and have only been with my OH for just over a year but we're both sure this is the relationship for us...we'll be getting married but want TTC as a priority and fit any wedding around Mother Nature.

Not planning any temp checking or charting or such like....maybe I'll change my mind if I'm not preggers after six months or so!

Anyone planning TTC about the same time and want to keep in touch on this thread for relaxed catch ups about preparing and then TTC?

Sarah X

Thank you all for the replies, btw, you're keeping me sane!

Avriljen · 19/01/2016 14:46

Oh my god!! Congratulations!! That was so quick!

Felipa · 19/01/2016 14:59

Wow congratulations! Your wedding dress will be fine. First b f p! Hope it's as quick for everyone.

Vanillaradio · 19/01/2016 15:05

Yay. First bfp! Exciting news, congratulations! Lets hope its the first of many! For your hen night I think you need to confide in a helpful friend who can fetch you e.g. "vodka and orange" without vodka!

mangocoveredlamb · 19/01/2016 17:13

Congratulations Poison!!

BFN from me I'm afraid, but this is probably a good thing!!

jennymac31 · 19/01/2016 17:32

Congratulations poison!

It's all getting very exciting and looking forward to hearing more announcements.

Am off to slimming world for my 2nd weigh-in so wish me luck!

TheresaMarie55 · 19/01/2016 17:34

Sorry for bfn mango, how late are you?

Good luck Jenny x

mangocoveredlamb · 19/01/2016 17:41

5 days and counting Theresa!

SoozC · 19/01/2016 17:56

Congratulations, Poison!

Jenny, good luck. My third SW weigh in tomorrow evening. Was horrified to read last week that one puts in two stone during pregnancy. Surely some people don't! I want to lose two stone, not gain it!

isthatpoisontoo · 19/01/2016 18:01

I'm sorry, Mango. Hopefully you'll be seeing a BFP soon.

How was your weigh-in, jenny? Sounds terrifying.

Thank you for all the congrats! I did another test as soon as I got home, it's just the same. Then of course DP called to say he'll be home late, so I have to sit on my news until 8pm. It doesn't feel real. I'm sure I'll forget I'm pregnant and open a bottle of wine or something. Or I'll get to the doctor's and she'll tell me I made a mistake.

I feel a bit like a cautionary tale about not using contraception--all it takes is one time!

stumblymonkey · 19/01/2016 18:01

Sorry to hear about the BFN mango...have you been stressed or ill this month? Sometimes that can delay AG...

stumblymonkey · 19/01/2016 18:02

AF (not AG)

Hi all, been following the thread and thought it's time to say hi! I've started my last pack of pills on Mon, off on the honeymoon next week and then we're ttc! I am so curious as to what my body will get up to after 13 years on the pill..
Keeping fingers crossed for everyone!

Pointlessfan · 19/01/2016 19:36

Congratulations poison!

Had my smear today, over my wobble now and ready to crack on with TTC but sensible side of me thinks its should wait for smear result especially as it's a long while since I had one.

Sorry to hear about the BFN mango.

thisisbloodyridiculous · 19/01/2016 19:54

Congratulations Poison! Can I join the thread? Been lurking - curently on honeymoon & have less than a week of pills to take then I'll be regulating my cycle ready to TTC!!! Beyond excited :D

MoodyOne · 19/01/2016 20:31

Congratulations Poison :-) X

jennymac31 · 19/01/2016 20:46

SoozC - not every mum-to-be puts on 2 stone during their pregnancy. I lost over a stone before I fell pregnant with dd but I still weighed less at the end of the pregnancy then at pre-conception.

My weigh-in was good, another 2 lbs. Slowly but surely the weight will come off and then I can concentrate on ttc.

TheresaMarie55 · 19/01/2016 21:13

Well done Jenny that's fab!

I put two stone on with my first, had lost a stone and a half a month after giving birth though. Baby was over 9lb for a start though lol. Gained a shocking 4 stone with my second, gave into every craving and was a total glutton. Had lost two stone by two months after, again baby was over 9lb though. I now weigh less than I did when I conceived my second but still have just under two stone till my goal weight. Of I've lost 13lb by the end of March though I'll be saying bye bye to my pills x

alice87m · 19/01/2016 21:15

Hi I hope you don't mind me joining you! We have recently started ttc and are trying to take a relaxed approach! I don't want to get too bogged down with ovulation kits or anything yet! I've been on the pill for around 10 years and took my last pill mid December. Waiting for my cycle to sort itself out...still waiting for my first real period since coming off the pill. I've been taking folic acid since I came off the pill. Should I be taking anything else? I'm basically clueless at all this! Thank you and good luck everyone!

stumblymonkey · 19/01/2016 21:21

Hello three newbies Smile

Folic acid is the main one. You shouldn't take any normal multivitamins if you were as they have Vitamin A in which isn't recommended.

Apparently some extra vitamin B6 may help with having less episodes of morning sickness.

Download Ovia, great app :)

Poison, how was it telling DH?

Lemon27 · 19/01/2016 22:28

I'm going to get some folic acid next time I'm out and start taking it properly after next month.

I usually take multibionta but doctor said once you are actually pregnant to stop that. I was looking at those effervescent tabs - can't think of the name now but the ones that come in tubes? One into a glass of water a day. I don't think they have vitamin A (ones I checked anyway) so I might get them to take when I can't take multibionta anymore. Does anyone know the name of them I've gone blank???!! Confused

RoseValleyRambles · 19/01/2016 22:43

Ovia is brilliant - although is a bit of a giveaway if someone spots it on your start screen... I'm not very good at stealth. Blush

TheresaMarie55 · 19/01/2016 23:00

Hmmm. I've been so sure about coming off the pill when I finish my March pack, just worked dates out though and if I got pregnant first time I'd be due right around Christmas. I know it's not a terrible thing but with two little ones already it's just not ideal. Think I will have to wait an extra month and start trying mid April. I know it's unlikely I'd conceive first time but I did with my other two so have to prepare for that. Oh well, only an extra few weeks I guess x

TheresaMarie55 · 20/01/2016 06:40

Weigh day for me today. I weigh every Wednesday morning around 6.30. 1lb off for me today, happy with that as I did barely any exercise for half of it with me being ill. Going for 2-3lb next week x
