Hope it's not too presumptuous but the last thread was nearly full so thought I'd get a new one ready!

So sorry you got AF Boris Sad

DizzyN sounds like you've got to grips with the microscope, aren't ferning patterns pretty?

Soda all your conflicting results sound very frustrating! Just keep DTD and hoping for the best. Sometimes the tests can be more trouble than they're worth, not that it's ever stopped me from doing them!

DizzyM I think you're right about flushing out my system, maybe she meant to get rid of the thick lining? I've got an appointment booked with the doctor for the 4th which feels like ages away!

Kellz do you remember if you ovulated after having that cyst show up on the scan? Where were you in your cycle? Hope your first day into the world of temping was good. It took me ages to get into the habit of taking my temp before getting up.

Awwww honey I'm so sorry. Xxxx

DizzyMerry · 18/12/2015 19:40

I'm so sorry AF has arrived boris.

Kellz the temping will make things clearer for you. I've not been able to keep up with it this month as I just keep forgetting.

Magpie I honestly think that's what she meant. I know it feels ages away but it will come round quick and fx you'll have some answers and a good plan.

That's frustrating soda but I agree keep dtd as that way your covered.

Flybynight1 · 18/12/2015 20:02

soda could it be a fallback rise? I had one of those on my cycle before last-so the initial temp rise indicated o but for whatever reason (hormones) your temp drops back down the next day and it'll go up again tomorrow. Would that make sense for you?

Flybynight1 · 18/12/2015 20:02

Sorry for AF Boris Cake

Place marking

DizzyNorthernBird · 19/12/2015 06:54

Sorry for af boris

soda your cycle sounds as frustrating as mine usually are!

magpie I'm not sure I'm getting to grips tbh. Yes the patterns are very pretty! I think I've discovered that I only see ferning in the afternoons...? This morning I've buggered up my test though as I forgot to clean the lense after yesterday's test. I only seem to get ferning on part of the lense too....I'm not sure whether this is because of how I'm applying the saliva or if it's because I'm not fully fertile yet?

Still haven't had a temp rise, neg opk yesterday. Cd20 today. It's going to be another one of those months Hmm

DizzyNorthernBird · 19/12/2015 06:58

Oh, and I know stress doesn't help, but if I don't ov before Monday then I go onto late shifts until Xmas day so won't see DP for 3 days. What this usually means is that I'll wind myself up about it and end up not ovulating until about cd38 or some other ridiculously late day.

Oh well....focusing on my scan in Jan.

MagpieCursedTea · 19/12/2015 10:19

DizzyN if only ovulation was a conscious process and we could just decide to ovulate rather than having to use various bodily fluids to make guesses! I found using my ferning microscope quite difficult, I'm not sure I ever got the amount of saliva quite right. Hope you get that ovulation in before your shift changes!

Sammy hello! How's things?

Hello to you as well fly, how are you doing?

What's everyone up to for the weekend? Any exciting plans?
FF has decided that I ovulated and am now apparently 6DPO Hmm
My chart is all over the place this cycle (I was ill for ages and I don't think the continuous spotting helped either) so I disagree. Even if it is right, we only DTD once in that time and it was the day after it's pinpointed O so no chance really.

Sodasoda · 19/12/2015 18:58

Sorry for AF boris, it really sucks. I know no amount of wine, cheese, pate etc over Christmas makes it ok.

dizzyn hope you ovulate before your shifts change, it's really annoying when work gets in the way of baby making plans!

magpie sorry FF is confusing you. When do you think you ovulated?

fly good to see you on here! How are you doing? No idea re fallback rise.

I got a temp rise this morning so fairly sure, with my positive OPK on Thursday, that I ovulated yesterday. My temp rise on Thursday I'm going to discard because I felt so awful on the day. So basically it's just my stupid clear blue fertility monitor I need to bin! We DTD at good times this month and it didn't feel forced (didn't tell DH timing at all until he asked today which I think worked well for us).

We've just arrived at my parents house after a long 6 hour drive. We're here for Christmas now and then off to DH's family on Boxing Day. Really looking forward to it all.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend xx

Flybynight1 · 19/12/2015 20:54

soda how does that chart look compared to yours? I put that first spike down to illness (I felt coldy) but based on when AF arrived, and my LP being 12-13 days, it was actually my o rise and the drop the next day is what is termed 'fallback rise'. Super frustrating!! I didn't get a positive opk either but I was only doing them once a day (next cycle I only managed to get a positive after doing 3 tests 1 one day and only one came out positive!). Have everything crossed that your efforts are fruitful!!im ok, just freaking out every time I get any twinge or cramping (which is concerningly frequently but I am reassured it is normal!!) just awaiting the next BFP! When will you test?

Hi magpie glad to hear your illness has passed though! Sorry it's screwed you up this month (you never know!) but hopefully you'll be all clear for next cycle Smile

Hiya Dizzyn hoping that you get your temp rise tomorrow! The ferning must mean something is happening though right? I'm sure you won't be in for another monster cycle so soon, but you have your focus on the right thing-January!

sammy how are you doing? Xx

Sodasoda · 19/12/2015 21:07

This is my chart so far fly. I felt sweaty / achy and coldy on Thursday when I got my high temp and that was the day I got my positive OPK. What do you think?

The Bumsnet Bus: All aboard for destination BFP!
Flybynight1 · 19/12/2015 21:42

soda I felt similar on my o date-see what your temp in the morning does but I think you could be showing a fallback rise. Your timings look good for DTD-you haven't seen any ewcm? See what the morning brings but if your temp is higher tomorrow then ff might put some crosshairs in. Google fallback rise charts and you'll see loads that could look similar to yours Smile

Flybynight1 · 19/12/2015 21:43

Ps if your temp is high tomorrow I think you can give yourselves a break if you need it!!! Grin

Flybynight1 · 19/12/2015 21:46

Pps my last cycle (technically this cycle I guess!) I got my temp rise and +opk on the same day, so although I know they say the temp rises after, that's what happened with me (I temped about an hour before I took the opk)

Sodasoda · 19/12/2015 21:49

Thanks fly - with my positive OPK on Thursday surely Friday might be my more likely than Thursday as ov day? Ha, thanks re a break Grin. Pretty knackered tonight after our long journey so no chance of anything tonight! I'll await my temp tomorrow with excitement!!

Glad you're feeling ok, have you been to docs yet? I can imagine you would feel nervous with every twinge etc. fingers crossed for you xx

Sodasoda · 19/12/2015 21:52

Ah cross-post on your pps fly!

goes back to googling fallback temp rise

Sodasoda · 19/12/2015 21:56

Oh - and no - I never really get much cervical mucus of any kind to be honest. I don't go looking for it or anything Blush but don't notice it especially in knickers etc. The most I tend to notice is when it's creamy at start and end of a cycle as then it sort of stains knickers. Sorry!! Blush. We use pre-seed around fertile time to try and help the swimmers swim!

Flybynight1 · 19/12/2015 21:57

soda I think either way it looks like you've covered all your bases!! Look into Vit c to boost progesterone (every little helps...!) and there's some stuff about pineapple core?! Rest and relax if you can now Smile

No dr/mw/anyone yet! Apparently no one at my surgery wants to know before 8 weeks, which is a bit offputting....! I'm having a private scan next week at 7 1/2 weeks-they call it a 'feasibility' scan, which sounds incredibly scary! Trying not to count my chickens/eggs/embryos just yet [santa]

Sodasoda · 19/12/2015 22:29

Thanks fly. Not so keen on taking supplements in case it messes up my fragile system! But will look into pineapples!

I think, I would want to do the same re early scan. I hope it goes well - please do keep popping back and let us know how it goes! Xx

Flybynight1 · 19/12/2015 23:04

I understand in taking supplements-luckily satsumas and clementines are lovely this time of year!!! Fx and I await your BFP!!!xx

MagpieCursedTea · 20/12/2015 13:28

I think I'm having the proper AF the sonographer was talking about. My spotting turned into full blown bleeding yesterday evening. A little bit sad as I was hoping maybe FF was right about ovulation. Never mind. Onto the next cycle!

Fly Best of luck with the scan. I had one at 7 weeks with DS and it was amazing seeing his little heartbeat.

Soda how was your temp this morning?

OP posts:
Sodasoda · 20/12/2015 16:53

Sorry about AF magpie. But hopefully it is the mysterious 'proper' AF the sonographer was talking about and this could help things.

My temp was high again this morning so pretty sure I've ovulated now but FF won't confirm until I have 3 high temps in a row. I guess the question is just what day I ovulated.

The Bumsnet Bus: All aboard for destination BFP!
Kellz92 · 20/12/2015 18:03

Magpie sorry to hear AF got you too!

Dizzy i seem to be remembering to take my temp so far :)

Xx

Sodasoda · 20/12/2015 18:09

Welcome to the temping world kellz - I'm on my second month and currently finding it something else to obsess about - as you can probably tell!! Blush Feel free to post charts and ask questions and I'm sure someone will be able to help xx
