Hope it's not too presumptuous but the last thread was nearly full so thought I'd get a new one ready!

Oh and someone please tell me this isn't a positive opk! We haven't dtd at all this cycle as DD has been unwell and hasn't been sleeping at night. We've dtd today but I'm now worried we've missed the boat this month Sad

That does look like a positive OPK, when did you take it? If it was today and you've DTD, I'd say you timed it well!

DizzyNorthernBird · 13/01/2016 23:07

That's pretty dark dizzym....but at least you've got in there today and could you try again tomorrow just to be sure? One of the grads (mummy?) swore she got her bfp by dtd after ov!

fuzzy I used the microscope last cycle. It's fascinating looking at the pretty patterns Grin and it means you're not wasting money on tests. I'm still getting the hang of it though and I'm not sure whether the pco thing might affect my readings.... But it certainly seemed to work last month once I got the hang of it!

DizzyMerry · 14/01/2016 00:53

Thanks magpie and dizzy. I took it today, well yesterday now but thanks for the reassurance. We'll hopefully dtd again tomorrow so I'm hoping we've still got a chance.

loopylou1984 · 14/01/2016 06:38

DizzyM - most people ov a day or so after a positive opk so your timing should be perfect !

Unless you're me who got a positive Monday night and am still yet to see a temp rise :(.

I honestly think af is going to arrive within a few days, that's how I feel. It must be anov. cycle for some reason. I just want to curl up and cry about my stupid broken body. Xx

blueberry549 · 14/01/2016 07:43

Totally sympathise sammy even though this is the time in my cycle I should be ovulating I haven't stopped spotting since previous af. As cycle before this one was suspected anov. It's so hard to judge so me and DH have just been trying to DTD every other day in hope! Although TBH that's been our attempt for the last 9 out of 14mtgs and still no BFP Sad

blueberry549 · 14/01/2016 07:44

Months not mtgs! Stupid phone....

MagpieCursedTea · 14/01/2016 09:37

DizzyM sounds like a good plan, I reckon you're in with a chance!

Sammy sorry to hear that your body is messing with you. Fx you get that temp rise and not AF.

Blueberry I feel your pain with the spotting, it's so frustrating! We've been trying to DTD every other day as well, it's better to be trying than not just in case!

I had some more bleeding after DTD last night, at least the frequency of the bleeding is gradually decreasing but it's been going on for so long that I'm quite worried. Hoping my doctor hears back about the appeal soon.

Thanks DizzyM and DizzyN.

Looks positive to me DizzyM. The cycle that I used OPKs and got pregnant showed a positive IC one afternoon/evening and a flashing (high) smile on a ClearBlue, then the next day I had another positive IC and a static (peak) smile on my ClearBlue. According to my 12 week scan I ovulated two days after the static smile, which was three days after my first positive IC. Therefore, I would say you have timed DTD well. I have everything crossed for you. Smile

After my worrying I got a positive OPK last night and DTD. Hopefully that means that Sunday's DTD was not too far away and we will continue each day now until Saturday. However, I can really feel ovulation pains down my side so I hope the timing is ok. I can just about deal with the monthly BFN but only when I feel I have at least done everything possible.

DizzyMerry · 14/01/2016 18:03

Thanks sammy and fuzzy.

Sammy fx for that temp rise. I haven't been able to temp post mmc but will make an effort next cycle.

FuzzyI think we should dtd until Saturday too just in case. I got quite intense ov pains last night on my right side and just hoping we're not too late. Also I'm the opposite as I don't mind a bfn when we haven't really tried but dtd eod and then to be insulted with a bfn gives me the rage!!! Keeping my fx you catch that egg.

Blueberry I hope the spotting comes to end. It must be so frustrating and a hindrance which just isn't needed.

Magpie fx you hear from your GP soon. Nobody should be left in limbo like that.

DizzyMerry · 14/01/2016 18:05

I had another positive opk today too so hoping I'm yet to ov.

FuzzyOwl · 14/01/2016 18:22

I have just checked my app DizzyM and during the cycle I got pregnant I had ovulation pains in four of the five days leading up to the day I ovulated but not the day itself (one positive of endometriosis is that these things are quite easy for me to track). I think continuing to DTD until Saturday is a good plan.

DizzyMerry · 14/01/2016 22:25

Thanks for the reassurance fuzzy. I should track my signs and symptoms but I'm always sure I'll remember them all and of course I then forget Hmm. I've only just started getting proper ov pains post mmc. I think temping will be the way forward for me.

FuzzyOwl · 14/01/2016 23:55

I didn't ever track mine DizzyM until I had my mmc and then I was so obsessed with ttc that I monitored everything. Hopefully this cycle will be the one for you and you won't need to worry about temping.

BorisIsBack · 16/01/2016 08:28

Sorry for not posting much recently ladies. dizzym and fuzzy how's it going?

dizzyn hope you've had a chance to make doctors appointments abd get to grips with your diagnosis.

As for me well I've got the ivf protocol from the Czech republic. Waiting for my prescription. DH and I need to agree dates but we might go to have ivf in feb or March. I'm terrified and excited and utterly confused all at the same time!

FuzzyOwl · 16/01/2016 09:36

Hi Boris February is only a few days away now. Not surprised you are simultaneously terrified, excited and confused. I really really hope it all works out for you.

We DTD again last night although I have a horrible cold and I think I am now in the 2ww. I am fairly certain everything was timed well this month, so we will just have to see.

Pixa · 16/01/2016 09:45

Hi all

Thanks for the kind words.

DizzyN hope you're doing well. As others have said, knowledge is most definitely power.

Boris that's so very exciting! We are heading to Prague for a weekend in April and considered seeing if we could have a look around one of the IVF clinics. Are you on long or short protocol? I'll be keeping everything crossed for you.

Pixa · 16/01/2016 09:46

Posted too soon!

DizzyM looks like perfect timing for ovulation. Hope you are doing well.

waves at everyone else.

MagpieCursedTea · 16/01/2016 10:10

Waves back at Pixa, how's things?

Fuzzy I hope the 2ww passes quickly for you.

Borris that's very exciting! Your mixture of feelings is perfectly understandable. Not long now!

DizzyM how are you doing? Into the 2ww now?

I'm still exactly the same, no positive OPKs, low temps and had another bleed yesterday. Also getting PMT symptoms on and off. I think my hormones are just screwed Sad

OP posts:
DizzyMerry · 16/01/2016 13:54

That's so exciting boris but I can understand the mixture of feelings. Not long to go now.

Magpie I really hope you get the bleeding sorted.

Hope the tww passes quickly for you fuzzy.

We haven't dtd since Wednesday so there's no chance for us this cycle Sad DH had to go away for work and is getting back tonight but my fertile period is over!

ThePug · 16/01/2016 14:30

Boris Wow, things move fast when you decide to go private (and abroad)! Delighted that you've got things underway and look forward to seeing your updates.

Quick info on the saliva microscopes for Fuzzy - I got one as soon as I started TTC as I thought it would be useful to have something limitless to use rather than have to keep paying out for opks to pee on. I was truly gobsmacked when, in the middle of my first cycle off the pill, the pattern on the lens one day changed from blobs to 'fern' patterns. I did get some random partial ferns at odd times of the month, but on the whole it usually tallied pretty well with opks (which I only did for the few days around when I expected ov to be). I've attached my chart from when I got my first bfp (which sadly ended in mc at 7 weeks) - the F on the fern line means 'Full Ferning' and the PF is 'Partial Ferning'. Also attached some pics of blobs (not fertile) and ferning (fertile) Not sure I've got a chart on my computer from when I got my second bfp but I carried on using it and it was useful. Point to consider is when you do it - you can't eat or drink anything for ideally 2 hours before using it (as a diabetic, who was also taking iron tablets that I had to take twice a day an hour apart from eating/drinking anything I found this a bit of a challenge - meant I had to delay my morning cup of tea!). Anyway, it's really easy to use, costs under £20 and you can use it as many times you want without thinking you're wasting money, so was a winner for me.

Hi boris! That's amazing that you're going through with it so soon! You could be upduffed by Easter! I'm very excited for you! My GP appt isn't until a week on Thursday, so have got a little bit of a wait yet. I'm feeling strangely at ease with the situation now though and I've got another fertile window looming to look forward to!

Good luck fuzzy!

Thanks pixa! As I say, I'm quite relaxed for now and ok about everything now. I think I'm just relieved to have an explanation as to what is going on and it's a bit of a weight off my shoulders. Every cycle I was winding myself about why ov was late. Now I know why!

magpie feel for you I really do. How confusing and frustrating. I spotted pretty much constantly for the whole 9 months I had the implant fitted. Just a thought but could the problem be something to do with whichever hormone the implant secretes? I can remember which one it was.....maybe you have an excess or deficit?

dizzym you're still in with a chance though, dtd weds and ov pain on Thursday? When do you reckon you ov'd?

pug just a quick ferning question as I'm still getting to grips with it, with partial ferning do you mean it only covers part of the lense?

DizzyNorthernBird · 16/01/2016 18:03

Oh it's progesterone magpie that's in the implant. I'm sure you would know if you had a progesterone imbalance, just ignore me! I have no idea why it made me spot as its low prog which causes spotting and the implant gives a steady release of it!

ThePug · 16/01/2016 18:46

DizzyN Yes, either only on part of the lens or it's a mix of some slight ferning patterns but blobs elsewhere. I only put it as full ferning if it was like the photo I attached. Glad you're using it and finding it useful - I loved using mine and the excitement of seeing the ferns; so much more interesting than a line on a stick Grin

Kellz92 · 16/01/2016 21:05

Well AF has finally left. Haven't temped yet as I couldn't find the thermometer, til today it was in my daughters room lol. So will start that tomorrow. Good luck to us all xx
