Starting the boarding for the December Bus...

My history if anyone is interested:-

DS1 in October 2012. Started ttc for dc2 last September. Got BFP in the November but MC'd at 5 weeks.
Fast forward to July, got another bfp. Started bleeding on August Bank Holiday weekend and found out we had MMC at 11 weeks. Had ERPC a week later. 5 weeks later after still getting positive hpts, found out the ERPC had been completely unsuccessful and had to have whole bloody procedure again.

Anyway. Now got my first proper period after all the above bullshit and hoping for bfp on or before the 18th December

I have no tips I'm afraid, it took 2 years last time for me Sad

I'm using the Clearblue digitals though this time round as DH works long hours so we have to make sure if we're dtd then it's at the right time, no matter how knackered we are!

bailey23 last time, I was testing way too early. Got a very faint line the day AF was due, but so faint, you couldn't really see anything, I just knew there was something there. I remember ripping the test apart to get a closer look! Tried next day, same thing, day after, there was a definite line. I reckon maybe we can test 6 days before AF is due (just based on what the First Response tests claim). Then if we get a BFN, we leave it until ETD i.e. when AF was due.

Had EWCM for the last 3 days. Nothing there today. Do you reckon it's worth us DTD again tonight? We're both knackered because of work etc. but will muster the energy from somewhere if worth it!

MrsNuckyT · 19/11/2015 10:01

bailey - I don't have any tips either! It took me about 3 days after getting married to conceive DS so I never knew it could take this long or be this stressful!!

mamaneedsamojito · 19/11/2015 10:14

Hello everyone. My stats:

Name: Mamaneedsamojito
TTC #2
Cycle 2
AF due (I'm not testing unless I'm late this month, that blank HPT was too depressing last month): Around 3rd Dec- pretty sure I'm ovulating today or tomorrow.

mamaneedsamojito · 19/11/2015 10:27

Bailey23 Are you tracking your cervical fluid? For me, that's the best indicator of my fertile period - keep an eye out for the 'egg white cervical mucus' that is clear and stretchy. I got pregnant on the first cycle last time that way :)

PurpleBun · 19/11/2015 11:11

Hi everyone,

I'd like to jump aboard the December bus! I've just started my November AF and am feeling quite low from it.

Name: PurpleBun
Age: 36
TTC: #1
Cycle: 3
ETD: 19/12

OstentatiousBreastfeeder · 19/11/2015 11:26

Can I join in? TTC #3. Waiting for AF to finish and we'll be full steam ahead. I'll be using OPKs, monitoring CM and using a tracker app.

DS was a lovely surprise and I conceived DD on cycle 1, DH was most proud of himself Grin hopefully this one will follow suit.

ohanami · 19/11/2015 13:04

No real tips from me. I used an app to keep an eye on my cycles, but we dtd fairly regularly anyhow so just carried on shagging until I got a bfp. It took five months and each month I'm fairly sure we dtd in the 48 hours before ovulation, so it really was just down to luck. I was neurotic enough about the whole process without extra sticks to pee on or charts to fill out Smile This time though I'm a healthier weight, less stressed, more active and eating much better, so I'm sort of hoping my body will respond well to all the tlc it's been getting!

Grace893 · 19/11/2015 13:24

Hi can I hop on too?

Name: Grace893
Age: 28
TTC: #1
Cycle: #3
CD: 11
ETD: ?

Cycles pretty irregular so not sure when im ovualting yet but some CM appeard today so best get on it. Iv had to lock all the okps and hpts away because I went just a little bit mad last month and I dont think they helped.

Hope there is lots of baby dust on this bus. Good luck everybody.

SeriousStuff · 19/11/2015 13:36

Welcome mama, purple and Grace!

Well, EWCM is back! So DH will be dragged upstairs as soon as he gets home...

Celen, since having DC1, I've barely thought about DTD, but since we've started TTC again, I've really enjoyed it - I think it's true that the more you do it the more you want it. But by this stage this month, I was hoping it was finally out of our hands now EWCM was finally gone. But nope...and I can't let more EWCM appear and not take advantage of it!

Jaffacakey · 19/11/2015 13:46

Hello All,

I would like to join as well :)

Age 21
TTC #1
Cycle #3
CD 11
ETD 10 December, 25 December or 1st January (had a few random cycles 32, 46, 52 and 66 day cycles)

bailey23 · 19/11/2015 17:50

Wow I've missed out on a lot today! Had a super busy day at work so haven't managed to get on til now! Apologies if I don't get you all in the right order or if I miss you out, I'm still getting used to this whole mumsnet convo thing and my phone won't let me view the conversation whilst replying, so I've resorted to screenshots!

Mamaneedsamojito - I really struggle to track my cervical mucus, I don't really know what I'm looking for and because I'm trying to DTD at least EOD, I'm even more confused! Any tips?

Mrsnuckyt - I wish I had your beginners luck! It hasn't been that long for me but it feels like forever! I just want that line to show NOW! I'm so impatient

Seriousstuff - I'm trying not to test early or on the day I'm due, even before I went on the pill and the depo my periods were all over the place, they aren't as bad now but I'm sick of the disappointment when it's a BFN
I can't help with the DTD or not conundrum though, I'm just trying to do it as often as I can then lie with a pillow under my hips for 10 mins afterwards!

Celen - oh no! I hope it doesn't take me 2 years! I hate waiting and when my AF comes I get really upset, I couldn't cope with that for too long!

Ohanami - I'm using the ovia app but I don't really want to become obsessed with OPK testing and everything, although I have bought a BBT thermometer just in case. If this month isn't our month then I'll start using it next month, just to make sure I am actually ovulating. I'm trying to DTD every 48hrs so fx it'll pay off eventually!

What an essay ... Sorry ladies! But thank you all for the help or the stories of your first time round that make me either jealous or scared that it'll take FOREVER!!

SeriousStuff · 19/11/2015 20:49

So, DH came home and went out for a run. He's been out for 90mins...do you reckon he's avoiding me?

mamaneedsamojito · 19/11/2015 21:11

bailey I think the best thing is to download an app (I use Fertility Friend) and track the changes in your CM for a couple of months so you start to understand how your own cycle works. Mine are between 28-35 days at the moment, they seem to be shorter one month and longer the next. I get around 5/6 days of EWCM.

Supposed to be DTD tonight but DS keeps waking up, think he's teething, poor thing. I'm hoping we get half an hour to ourselves at some point!

SeriousStuff · 19/11/2015 23:26

Did you manage it mama? Grabbed DH after his shower - he was knackered, bless him, but we somehow managed it...

Sheep2345 · 20/11/2015 08:07

Jumping aboard!
TTC # 2 (DD 2.5)
Cycle 2
No idea where in cycle I am!
Keep getting BFN with FRER tests but still no AF so until it arrives I can't date myself for December!

Good luck ladies, let's hope for a wonderful December for us all xxx

mamaneedsamojito · 20/11/2015 13:02

Good work, Serious. We had a tired quickie too Wink. I got a faint OPK today (finally, after SIX days of EWCM) so am going to take another test later on to see if it gets stronger. At the moment I'm not sure if it means the LH surge has already happened or is building up.

MiniLop · 20/11/2015 13:18

Hi all, I'm jumping on this bus but still hanging around on the November bus too as I'm not sure what my cycles are up to at the moment

MiniLop
Ttc #2 (DS born Feb 15)
Cycle 1
ETD ??? Going to take a test on 30th Nov although I think that will be too early! Think I am OVing about now...

EnglishExpat we are in a similar boat although I am a few months ahead, we started kind of TTC when DS was 5 months. I stopped BFing when he was 6.5 months, he's now 9 months and I've just had my first period (hence cycle 1). Fx you have better luck than me with a small age gap!

Raeside · 20/11/2015 15:39

I'm v torn as to when to test. According to FF I OV'd day 11 and AF due Sunday so I guess that means I could test now. But I'm sure I didn't OV till day 15/16 which means AF but due till Wed.

ARGH.

Andysgirl15 · 20/11/2015 19:10

No tips here either, DD took 4 years to conceive but my MC only took 7 weeks.

I can only rely on opks to say when I'm ovulating, I'm kinda weird as I've never gotten ewcm lol. Oh and ttc #2 ain't so easy when the OH is miles away 3/4 days a week sometimes he's gone over a week but I've worked out that when I'm ovulating this month he will be home so fingers crossed x

EnglishExpatUSA · 20/11/2015 19:22

Hi Mini, ooh good luck to you, 18 months would be a great gap. Some of my friends think I'm bonkers that I'm so broody now but there are 15 months between my sister and I, and my mum always said that gap worked really well for her because she was already 'in the baby zone.' Also DH wants four dcs Shock so we'd better crack on if we're going to hit that target!! So your AF took 2.5 months to return, I wonder how long it will take for me. Did you stop bf suddenly or taper off slowly? argh, I'm so impatient now it's killing me!

We conceived DD the first month and tips from me would be pre-seed, and I also temped for 3 months before we TTC so I knew when to expect Ov. Dtd 8 times in the 10 days leading up to and including ov. Did the trick!

Good luck all x

MiniLop · 20/11/2015 20:26

English AF took 2 months to return after the last time I BF DS (I got it 2 weeks ago). I tapered off slowly, reducing 1 feed per week over 8 weeks. I was hoping I wouldn't have to stop completely for AF to return but never mind!
There's 13 months between me and my older DBro and 19 months between me and younger DBro, which I love, that's why I want a small age gap too Smile
